    🙋🏻‍♀️ Representing the 2% LCN Ladies! Using this channel allowed me to bring my circa-1940 “grab-bag” lawn to the best in our neighborhood. My issue isn’t my husband not understanding.... it’s all the compliments HE gets from our neighbors who assume HE does the work! Luckily he gives me all the props. It’s comical to see the looks on their faces when they realize they’ve been dominated by a 33-year-old new mom 😂Thanks for all your help, LCN!

    I have a hunch that the 2% LCN Ladies is understated. I think there are many women who research and follow, but don't feel the need to comment. We have lived in our house for 21 years now, which has 1.7 acres in SW Ohio. We used to be the envy of the neighborhood with our beautiful KY bluegrass yard. I have hired lawn service for several years, and the lawn looks worse than when I handled it myself. So I cancelled the service. But, our yard is now full of Nut Grass and Crabgrass. I am so frustrated with the lawn trying to keep it looking great. We are right on the line of Allyn's Cool grass / Warm grass. I am ordering the Cool Grass guide tonight, in hopes it can help me get our lawn back to beauty.

    I have a small ditch in my backyard. I live in Louisiana, so because of the recent storm, I scalped the ditch to make sure it could drain easier if ift needed. To show the wife and kids some of the results of all the time, energy, and effort that I have spent in the yard, I had them walk in the yard with bare feet. I showed them the delicious spongy, thick grass blades that feel like a massage in between your toes. I showed them how wonderful that felt. Then, I had them walk with bare feet on the super low-cut ditch area (this is about how everyone else in the neighbor regularly cuts their grass). By showing them the difference, I really think that they were able to see the the outcome of my efforts. Thanks for all of your advice and tutelage Mr. Alyn.

Please look at Dr Dray’s YT video on sunscreens. Some do not protect effectively. Some even claim the cheap ones actually cause skin cancer. Don’t want anyone to suffer from this- esp not one of my mentors.❤️

    I had really good luck with mature crabgrass last year using the over the counter bio advance with quinclorac and squirt of regular dawn detergent. Amazon would not ship any to me this year for some restriction reason but they did sell me some straight 18+% quinclorac. I just spiked the regular 2-4-D bio advance with .4oz per gallon... can't tell you if worked yet because Alexa told me know rain was expected so I sprayed and then it rained an hour later. I decided to get the stronger quniclorac too because I has some torpedo creeping into my yard from my neighbor's yard. Luckily it is still my my crappy bahia section so if worse comes to worse I can bring out the glyphostate and resold with zoysia next season. I also have some ornemec OTC but I try not to use that as it seems to have a stronger negative effect on the turf... the OTC I got to zap common bermuda out of my zoysia areas. Also, by accident, I found out last year that the quinclorac mix of the bio advance takes out the carpet grass that spots I have been pulling the last few years. It takes a few heavy apps a few weeks apart but it definitely kills it out eventually. I'm not sure if it is the quinclorac of the dicamba in the mix, as I mentioned, it rained an hour after I applied this last week so I cannot confirm.

    I didn't care for your original Facebook group. The first group the problems that I saw was I would post stuff under my personal profile into the group and it would never be allowed into the group.but yet there was hundreds of photos hundreds of post of other people posting their grasses and how great their grasses well I don't really care about Joe blows grass I care about how to make my grass look better than Joe blows grass. Remember when people are on social media platforms they want to be entertained. So if there's a funny viral video I don't believe that hurts the group it just makes it more engageable. Thanks for changing the Facebook group I appreciate it.

    Another thing to consider when you have a lawn care obsession (hobby), a well maintained lawn and garden adds to your property value. Can't say that about golf or fishing :)
    Plus, speaking as one of the 2%ers in this group - what’s with these spouses that are giving you a hard time about your lawn care hobby? Having the unfortunate experience of once being married to an alcoholic, any interest where drugging, drinking or skirt chasing is not involved has no basis for complaint!

    I dare anyone, including you LCN, to try Garden Weasel Crabgrass Killer (yes it’s on Amazon) and say it doesn’t work (especially safely on floratam) !! It’s a powder derived from cinnamon tree bark, NO HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS! It’s not cheap but it’s not Tenacity price either! Just be sure to wet the area (crabgrass plant) before sprinkling on the powder. It doesn’t take a real heavy coating, just dust it on. If you sufficiently wetted the area it will turn yellowish. Wait a day (2 at the most) and you will see crabgrass DYING! I know it’s too hard to believe, but.....

    I have a bottle of quinclorac sitting on my shelf but I dont have methylated seed oil. Can I use baby shampoo, or will this ruin the effectiveness of quinclorac? I have one spot with crabgrass.

    I’m not impressed with the Facebook system, I understand that you need to make a living but I would hope by me watching your channel for the past 4 years have helped you propelled you to have your current living situation. I appreciate you giving me the tools through the years to improve my lawn, but unfortunately I will not pay to be a part of the Facebook group. I watch people like you to not pay a subscription to, I was trying to get away from that. But again thank you for my inspiration for making my patch nice!!

    Yeah not sure about the buy a lawn care guide to join a Facebook page. I've been watching you five years and I buy all my green county products from you but I make my own lawn care plan. Not sure if I need a guide.

    • @LawnsAcrossAmerica
      @LawnsAcrossAmerica  5 років тому +1

      agreed, no one truly needs it. If you watch my videos you get everything there - but 10 years worth of content is tough to get through for a new person and they need the guide to help them get started faster, as well as the guide answers questions that come from the vids. The FB group is an added value and it's fun too, but not needed.

    You think your wife doesn't understand you? Try being a woman explaining to her girlfriends why she is out at 6am, hand-pulling quack weed. And, it took me all summer to finally get my husband to understand why I wanted to mow twice a week and tall, not short like a golf course..
