Easiest way to fix the drop machanic in D.D.D make the drop fully controlable to the player. Also tie it into the story having Sora and Riku having to trust each other by dropping at different points in their respective adventures, working together instead of chasing after each other
I'm with ya too! I can't do Chain of Memories. I hated it, and then my game glitched to where one of the doors I needed to use to move on wasn't showing up, and I legit cried because I was so frustrated. I put down the game, got some popcorn, and while my brother and father were watching the Super Bowl, I was watching cutscenes because I gave up. Worth it, imo.
Same! All of my knowledge of Chain of Memories came from the manga. I do believe if you’re having a hard time getting into that game, the manga is a good alternative to it
@@coloryournight it was, but I was trying for hours and I was so frustrated lol. I tend to do that when I am frustrated, that's just how my brain works ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I played KH when I was a kid so I only ever played 1, 2, and the gameboy chain of memories. I just dowloaded the mix on PS5 and have been playing through them all and am so surprised by how well they all hold up, especially the first game. Really tried to give chain of memories a fair shot though and had to give up on it pretty quickly. It's just not very intuitive and the world isn't engaging
Got done with the video and loved it💙 gonna do my own tier list in a bit on Twitter but it’s very similar to yours with some minor changes, only thing i probably can’t decide is the Union cross stuff with their ranking as the story like you said is interesting and I agree it’s amazing but gameplay wise definitely had WAY too much issues and dark road is yeh only one I loved personally so maybe il cheat on that but thanks for the video and keep it up💙😎🔥 future content for 2024 gonna be awesome and il keep coming back to watch
Gave this video a like for including Melody of Memory :) I loooooove this game, and I love that you love it! btw you would probably like Theatrhythm Final Bar Line too! It's basically got the exact same gameplay but it has a crapton more songs and more play modes.
For somebody who only recently got into the games about 4 years ago and played through (almost) the entire series, I have basically the same opinion as you for all the games. I'm shocked by how much similar our opinions are. Somethings are different though. I would rank BBS higher. The gameplay is phenomenal. For me, playing such an old game with such incredible mechanics that let you create moves by combining things is so new and I loved the game for it. It was fun piecing the story together by playing through all the characters. Each world was amazing and I loved playing in Cinderella's world as Ventus because he got to be a small guy and I think that's funny. Just a great game. One more thing that made our opinions different, for 358/2, I actually enjoyed the slot mechanic. I found it thrilling to try and place attacks in slots that would advance my gameplay with the limits I was given. Even though it's been well over a year since I last played the game, the ending still sits well in me. I enjoyed working for Organization 13 as Roxas, piecing together the story, and hanging out with Axel and Xion after every mission. I love that game. I completely agree with you on Melody of Memories! It's weirdly addicting, and after you are good enough to play it on proud mode, the game becomes so thrilling and fun. I play it daily and it's so enjoyable. This tier list was so accurate. Loved the video!
Birth by sleep does what chain of memories couldn’t when it comes to battle. Edit: yessss we agree on the battle system. BBS is my favorite KH game, I enjoyed playing all 3 routes and didn’t get tired of any of them. I would honestly go back and play more if I had to pick from the KH games. I loved the form changes and how cool the movesets were. Rune blade and Ventus’ wing swords were so dope
This is a much better list than your previous one. I’ll never understand peoples obsession with BBS. Personally, I don’t like the gameplay or the story. I think it’s worse than DDD gameplay wise and this is coming from someone who has gotten every trophy for all these games twice.
Kh3d did make Kingdom Hearts' plot starts to be unnecessarily complicated This is from someone that so far only played KH1-2, GBA version of Chain of Memories, and more recently Birth by Sleep KH2 is still my most favorite KH game and one of my most favorite games ever

Kh3 has a turbo cooked story. Shit happens in Re:Mind which makes absolutely zero sense within the context of the story. Some characters have been hyped up from previous entries but are completely shat on in the lore, there are so many wasted opportunities. The ending (respectfully) is shit. FF characters are a significant contributing factor to progressing in kh1 and kh2 but are totally absent in the entire main scenario from kh3. Gameplay wise, attractions suck and sora is too floaty, being able to infinitely air combo by simply mashing X/A. The game feels like it was rushed even though we waited too long for it. It's a good game with some glaring issues Imo.
For me with KH3 it wasn’t the combat it was the story they put every major plot point at the end and left the Disney worlds pretty barren. Then Square showed the rest of the game in the trailer so nothing was a surprise that was the worst thing they did. For a game that already has a huge fanbase all of that should been kept under wrapes

Sorry but I cannot stand for the KHUx slander. The game gave out Jewels so often and had so many different banners with guaranteed 6 and 7 star medals, especially in the last year or two it was running, that having a lack of good medals is honestly kinda your own fault. And this may be a controversial opinion but I genuinely found the gameplay and strategy in KHUx to be a lot of fun, especially once they started introducing them enemies that nullified/absorbed certain damage types, that was what really added a new depth of strategy to the game. And the music, that game may have only had a few new songs in total but I can't think of a single one I didn't like. In fact, rather than disliking any of them, the original rendition of Dearly Beloved before they rebranded the game to Union Cross and the overworld music for Daybreak Town remain among my favorite songs in the entire series. And let's not forget the medals that had music tied to them that changed the main plaza music if you shared them as well as just played the music while viewing them in the medal list. Always had one of the Xion medals shared so my plaza's music would be Musique pour la Tristesse de Xion. All this to say, I couldn't disagree more with your placement of KHUx. You're free to have your own opinion though, and I apologize if the way I worded things came across as rude. I really miss the game, it was my favorite mobile game and I wish I could still play it.
It’s been awhile since I play Coded but I hated it, including gameplay. Was perfectly fine with that being a Movie now. But Days, there’s a lot of details missed in the movie version.
Making my own personal list Kingdom hearts 1: 9/10 Very good start that holds up very well even with some slightly clunky controls but nothing intrusive. Kingdom hearts: Chain of Memories 5/10 Story's awesome but the gameplay sucks ass and I skip this game whenever I do a replay of the series Kingdom Hearts 2 : 10/10 Love this game since the moment I played it and I always will, took everything that 1 set up and tightened it all up spectacluarly. I can recognize some flaws but their pretty minor to me and I still think this is the best game in the series Kingdom Hearts days: 5/10 Only played the game once and never got into it,, the story part of it was good but that's about it for me. Kingdom Hearts birth By Sleep : 8/10 A good start for the Osaka team although clunkiness is a bit more apparent here but again nothing gamebreaking. Aqua and Ven are awesome but Terra drags it down hard both gampelay wise and Story wise. Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance: 9/10 I love this game so much flowmotion is fun as hell and the dream eaters are adorable. Riku's redemption arc is concluded here which I stand by is one of the best in media period. Osaka Team does'nt quite lose some of their quirks but they do improve on them. Kingdom hearts Coded: Screw Mobile games Kingdom Hearts Union X: Screw Mobile games Kingdom Hearts 3: 9/10 I declared it the second best game in the series and I stand by it to this day. All of Osaka Team's bad habits are fixed here leaving only their unique way of approaching this series with all the fun of traditional Kingdom Hearts. Xehonort saga concludes very well here. The story is a little bit looser than 2's but not so much that it's a problem for me. Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memories: 6/10 I'm not a fan of rythm games but I recognize why this was made and alot of the story for Kairi is very interesting. I have a theory about where Nomura's going with her and this game made me more certain.
Personally I loved RE:COM and hated DDD at least on the 3ds hate the flowmotion mechanics all together especially in that game. It felt really forced on you in that game. 358/2 days... Only bad thing IMO is that the leveling is tied to the slots, that's it... oh and that they didn't remake it, it's just a movie now, so sad. Now for my opinions on your A and S tiers....... perfection. please bring back drive forms.
You played 2 before 1 and called it your eternal Sin? My Brother in Scala, I played 15 minutes of COM on a friends GBA, my first official game was DAYS, then Coded, DDD and finally like no kidding 8 years later played KH 1 My soul will be punished in the chiriti affterlife
Yeah, Re:coded is probably the weakest game in the series in terms of plot. But the gameplay is pretty good, and have an arcade touch, I don't know how to explain it better (English is not my first language). The regular combos and the commands have synergy unlike BBS, all keyblades are useful in some way, the customization of the difficult levels, etc.
Days suffers from the same thing as COM suffers from and thats a combat/leveling system of sorts which for many can feel clunky and unneeded in comparison to something more grounded interesting combat. Granted not everyone dislikes those systems but they are alot harder for many to get into vs the more simple ones. If they had combat systems that was fun to play with and interesting they would be A or S because the story in both of those 2 games are amazing.
I disagree the world design and pacing in kh2 are absolute shit, and nobody will ever change my mind on that. Do people even realize that you can remove all but the torn world in kh2 and have the story be exactly the same. People criticize the kh3 story for pacing but even the movie focus Disney worlds have important themes and revelations for the characters. Dramatic irony (audience knowing things that the characters don't) exists for a reason, it has its place in storytelling and is used to great effect in kh3. The game even uses Disney Worlds to hint at the games climax and what ultimately happens to Sora. People just weren’t paying attention enough to appreciate it. Back to kh2 Even the combat has its shortcomings , the amount of busted mechanics that make the game easy even on critical is absolutely ridiculous. And don’t even get me started on the game not even explaining its most important mechanic in the drive gauge and form leveling . I replayed the game 100% on critical at the beginning of 2023 and was so surprised by how much I found it just boring. Not to mention the lack of movement was extremely tedious. Like I’m seriously happy I don’t ever have to play the game again, that’s how much I found myself hating the experience. This game is propped up by the nostalgia boner everyone seems to have for it . Well I hate to burst that bubble but there are some things that kh2 actually does worse than the first game. I know that the gameplay is largely better in 2 but it’s not the perfect game everyone feels it is and I’m tired of people putting up on some crazy pedestal of perfection it doesn’t deserve. The main story beats S teir but the things I mentioned above REALLY drag down the game to just barely getting a B from me overall.
If you remove all the Disney world visits in KH2, you would have: -No plot progression happening in Hollow Bastion since Ansems research data was accessed through the Tron world -Hollow Bastion would have been taken over by the MCP, it wouldn't have turned into Radiant Garden. -Disney Castle being taken over by Maleficent through timeless river. With Minnie, Chip n Dale and all them lot probably dying as a result and with no HQ for Mickey anymore -Xaldin still alive after not being killed in Beasts castle -Beast would turn into a heartless -Hercules being killed by Auron and Hades taking over -Santa becoming a heartless (sounds funny until you realize that santa can access all the world in the matter of seconds, he would be an OP asf heartless which is why Maleficent wanted him) -Barbossa, Jafar, and Scar being recruited by Pete Maleficent (with her new villain HQ at Disney Castle) -Sora wouldn't have met Riku for the first time since Kh1 in Land of Dragons, and most of the setup from meeting Org. members for the first time wouldn't be there -Thematic links like the experiment that wanted a heart in Halloween towns 2nd visit would have been lost
My brother in christ, I was 10 and I figured out the form levelling by going into stats and hovering over EXP. It's not that hard at all. And lack of movement is tedious. For sure it's easier to shotlock into flowmotion into the enemy every 3 seconds which allow to stunlock enemies into endless combos. Make them punchingbags who don't fight back, so much better.
@@joshz2491 These same complaints can be done to basically any game. The main plot progresses together with the hero's journey and hardships. You could look at any Final Fantasy game, such as FF7 and go "Well, you could remove most parts about this game except the important plot points in the beginning, middle and end against Sephiroth, and the story would still be the same!" But clearly that's not really how it works, there are more factors at play that develop a story other than "furthering the main plot" Without Sora defeating the heartless, Kingdom Hearts wouldn't have been built up. Him travelling to Disney worlds and defeating heartless was a crucial part of the organizations plan.
@@alexappsapp1332 oh, I figured it out too, but that wasn't my point, my point was that it is bad game design to introduce a new mechanic and then bury the most important things about how the new mechanic works in the exp header of the status screen. Easily the most ridiculous oversight of the entire series. The movement thing is subjective I suppose I guess I just don't find it fun to literally have to run up to every enemy or boss to hit them, it's particularly annoying for bosses because I regularly missed the opening. I noticed it on Lingering Will the most. He is only open for a few seconds after attacks and even with Quick Run and Dodge Roll I was usually too slow to get there
You’ve got to be trolling. Union X was an auto playing cash grab. KH3 had awful story pacing and the combat was painful until re:mind fixed a lot of its issues.
@alexw4482 not trolling, that's just how it is of any kh game its my opinion union x has the single best story ( days is a close second for me ), and in terms of combat, kh2 was lackluster in comparison to 3, and with the pro codes makes things actually challenging for once.

My Brother in Scala, I played 15 minutes of COM on a friends GBA, my first official game was DAYS, then Coded, DDD and finally like no kidding 8 years later played KH 1
My soul will be punished in the chiriti affterlife
I feel like I’m the only one who loves COM. PlayStation and GBA😭😭
Kingdomhearts 3 is the best game in my opinion
KH3 gameplay was great but I don’t like the storyline at all
>DDD at C
Yeah im out /jk
Re:coded at B is goated though
Days is S tier imo, they just need to port it so more people can have the experience of the game. It was the first and only game to make me cry.
I can agree with this. I just went back and played Days and the combat did feel a bit rubbish @@Geddn
If you remove all the Disney world visits in KH2, you would have:
-No plot progression happening in Hollow Bastion since Ansems research data was accessed through the Tron world
-Hollow Bastion would have been taken over by the MCP, it wouldn't have turned into Radiant Garden.
-Disney Castle being taken over by Maleficent through timeless river. With Minnie, Chip n Dale and all them lot probably dying as a result and with no HQ for Mickey anymore
-Xaldin still alive after not being killed in Beasts castle
-Beast would turn into a heartless
-Hercules being killed by Auron and Hades taking over
-Santa becoming a heartless (sounds funny until you realize that santa can access all the world in the matter of seconds, he would be an OP asf heartless which is why Maleficent wanted him)
-Barbossa, Jafar, and Scar being recruited by Pete Maleficent (with her new villain HQ at Disney Castle)
-Sora wouldn't have met Riku for the first time since Kh1 in Land of Dragons, and most of the setup from meeting Org. members for the first time wouldn't be there
-Thematic links like the experiment that wanted a heart in Halloween towns 2nd visit would have been lost
@@alexappsapp1332 true lol💙
@@joshz2491 These same complaints can be done to basically any game. The main plot progresses together with the hero's journey and hardships.
You could look at any Final Fantasy game, such as FF7 and go "Well, you could remove most parts about this game except the important plot points in the beginning, middle and end against Sephiroth, and the story would still be the same!" But clearly that's not really how it works, there are more factors at play that develop a story other than "furthering the main plot"
Without Sora defeating the heartless, Kingdom Hearts wouldn't have been built up.
He is only open for a few seconds after attacks and even with Quick Run and Dodge Roll I was usually too slow to get there
NEVER LETTING BRO COOK AGAIN 🔥🔥🔥
It’s so hard to use cards so I skipped that game and watched the cutscenes but yeah not my favorite KH game 👎
kh2 is forever if a ps2 game can be batter then THE fucking ps4 what the that tell you 💢
what
Why do people have such nostalgic goggles on for kh2 like its good, but its far from the best, that can easily be kh3 and union x.
Oh boy lol💀
You’ve got to be trolling. Union X was an auto playing cash grab. KH3 had awful story pacing and the combat was painful until re:mind fixed a lot of its issues.
@@alexw4482 disagree on the combat for 3 as I Enjoyed it for sure but the rest I can understand for sure, but hopefully we respect the opinions ofc 💙🙏🏻
@alexw4482 not trolling, that's just how it is of any kh game its my opinion union x has the single best story ( days is a close second for me ), and in terms of combat, kh2 was lackluster in comparison to 3, and with the pro codes makes things actually challenging for once.
@darkscoutergamer6168 while I disagree, I do for sure respect your opinion
32:28 i lpve how they also made goofy and donald weak af, it pretty much says the mc does all the work lmfao like in movies
15:29 traverse town is also in this, so 2 worlds, nvm just noticed you put disney worlds as a caption, i never played these games as a kid lol i always thought they were spin offs of the game and not really importan i waited for kh 3 for years and when it was about to come out i find out that you need to play these games lol
