3:28 Chocobo keyblade to me was supposed to represent the OG Buster sword from Final Fantasy 7. Yes it look like they just added a slab of metal but when you look at it closely you can easily compare it to the buster sword because the buster sword was a huge chunk of steel that was really good to use. I put that on the A tier because it showed representation of the creator all time favorite which is final fantasy 7

The fact that you put Aubade in C tier hurts 🥲 For reference, Aubade is a type of poem about departing lovers. Which I feel fits really well with Days and Roxas and Xion's relationship. Seeing as in the end of Days, Roxas was forced to part with Xion.

I remember grinding hours upon hours trying to beat Sephiroth in KH1 until I finally got Oblivion. That made the fight so much easier. I thought that was the best keyblade in the entire game. I beat the game and fought Sephiroth many times after that. I thought I beaten everything in the game...until I read an old gamer magazine and learned of the Ultima Weapon. I grinded more and more to finally craft that and I was blown away at how easy Sephiroth was after that. It makes sense since I had completed 100% of the game at that point. One of the few games that I ever cleared 100%. It was so satisfying.
Alright, I'm sorry Jared. I have to say it: Braveheart is not on the same level as Way to Dawn at all imo. For Riku to go from something as cool looking as Way to Dawn.......to an oversized car key, it was just super underwhelming imo

Bond of flame is my biggest pet peeve with KH2, its easily one of the coolest keyblades in terms of both appearance AND story significance. It's literally Axel's chakrams linked together in the game that arguably has the 2nd biggest focus on roxas, and IMO there was a ton of missed opportunities for key blades in KH2 in the same theme as bond of flame. What I mean is that each org 13 member should have had a key blade themed around them or their weapons. But also I think each keyblade should give you access to a MINIMUM of 1 new unique ability. I dont mean like the abilities we got either, the passive bonuses are nice, but I mean that each one should have a unique spell or reaction command tied to it. For instance, bond of flame could have had a unique fire spell which you could only cast and slot while using that key blade. Something like a giant fire tornado or several pillars of flame, similar to the apocalyptic flame spell Sepheroth uses in your fight with him in KH2. There are tons of cool ideas you could throw on different keyblades, others could be left with just the normal bonuses, but canonically speaking, Keyblade weilders, even noobs like young (KH1 and 2) Sora, are like universal power level guys. They travel through space and time and fight everything from basic heartless, to soul devouring abominations, to even the gods and titans of various worlds. Its a common occurrence for them too, they fight opposition like that daily. The fact is that they're busted strong, particularly at magic, I know they arent technically wizards or sorcerers, but thats only because they focus on quicker combat magic instead of long-winded incantations or complex rituals, in terms of just raw magical power, they're all in the top tier right from the jump almost (it took Sora like 2-3 years to catch up to Donald, and he's one of the strongest wizards in history. Needless to say, there are a LOT of story related reasons to give Sora access to more spells than he gets. KH3 definitely moved in the right direction by giving us the ability to level up key blades, though some of the transformations were a miss for me, and removing drive forms was just... Well it wasnt a great idea IMO

I think this would make a good theory ... remember in kh chi you could max out your keyblade and it changed to its final form of the key blade for example kh2 clouds keyblade has a final form in kh chi which makes it look way cooler with a wolf in the hilt ... what if all keyblades had a final form

Funny how all those discreet and darker Keyblades that I've always thought looked amazing were automatic D tiers for you. Like Keyblade of Heart and Follow the Wind for example.
The way i rank keyblades is "how much it looks like an actual weapons" and "would i feel cool killing somebody with it" So all the overly detailed and colorful ones with clouds and sparkles look disgusting to me. They look like blowup balloon toys that id hit a 2 year old with because i cant hit them with an actual metal pole. Therefore metal chocobo and jungle king are in S Tier for me
