Before this gets mentioned I do want to apologies about the pacing of Chapter 1 being slightly longer than I had hoped for. Due to majority of the footage being corrupted in this time period making a montage was not a viable option, also a lot of the ground work for the speedrun is explained here as less discoveries were found overtime. Secondly I just want to mention that I am completely okay with people reacting to this video on their livestream channel, all I ask is that if you decide to upload your reaction to UA-cam please wait a week as I would like my video to not be drowned out by others reactions (and of course crediting me in your space). I hope you all enjoyed the video I technically started research on this video nearly 4 years ago and put off the project a lot. I am happy I finally got this video done and I hope this commemorates the great players who innovated the game. Lastly the interviews will be live on my 2nd channel on 30/4 so check it out here: shorturl.at/gstPS
Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to make this video Saiyanz. Cannot stress how great it is to have something like this forever. From the research, to the editing, I loved it so much and respect the work done. Its hard for me to stay keen and watch a video all in one sitting with the length, but it was really well produced. Was great going through great memories from myself back then and learning about the more recent/new times from people.
This is probably one of the best KH videos ever made, the attention to detail and the amount of history is so awesome. So many amazing runners for this game over the years and how much commitment to it has been amazing to watch the past decade. It feels almost yesterday I was watching your streams of KHFM speedruns. It's insane to look at your footage all these years later and still be amazed with how good it looks for the time. I remember watching them way back then and being blown away.
Incredible job with this video, man. It was amazing to take a trip down memory lane and see just how much this game has grown by leaps and bounds over the years. So many amazing runners have touched this game and I'm very proud to be a part of this community. Thank you and everyone else involved with this project, it was more than worth the time it took to put together!
your runs were legendary, my dude. i kinda lost interest in watching livestreamers over time but im really glad i was able to be there for a couple of your 2018 WRs.
the thought that Kingdom Hearts can be beaten in under 2 hours is insane to me, I often forget how the things that are skipable in games like this is often a much larger list then the things that I pressume are skipable...
Man this brings back memories. Being a part of the Kh speedrun community in 2013 - 2016 was by far one of the greatest times of my life. Amazing community to be a part of and was amazing to see it all unfold. Great video salyanz! Hope you’ve been well bud.
1. This video is incredible. The parts where you show off areas from KH1 with uncommon angles, as background to the talking, is actually magical and I love those bits so much (like 1:01:32, 1:01:55, 1:08:37, 1:11:43) 2. This game REALLY has TWO different runners named "Bizkit".... and we're sure this isn't a conspiracy?
I saw one of your replies saying a KH2 speed run history would take a lot of research, but if it ends up being made, or another speed run history video, I’m there 😁
I’ve been thinking since this video came out a few days ago. This look back at history and seeing my name and time in the credits has given me the drive I need to grind out this game again. Such a great run. Glad to be a part of this community and I can’t wait to break my own barriers in the future.
Considering I have only seen the recent WR runs for this game, I had an amazing time looking through the past and seeing the insane evolution the scene went through to the current point in time! This video was amazing, I appreciate every ounce of work that was put into it by everyone and shoutouts to all the greats that contributed to this speedrun category! AWESOME JOB
There's something really funny about knowing Toji's personality and then seeing his pfp leering at you in the background of this educational video 😂 You did an amazing job on the doc Saly and your editing skills were the cherry on top
Awesome video Saiyanz! The amount of time, research, effort, and love put into this video is unbelievable and resulted in an amazing story of the history of the speedrun. Enjoyed every minute of it.
You bloody nailed it, my dude. I’ve told you this but the one thing I admire most about you is your passion for this speedgame. Now look at the result of said passion. I still (vaguely) remember those times when we were running the game on PS3 together. Been a blast.
WHAT A VIDEO. Seriously, I am so proud of you man. All that work, all that investment really came into a once in a lifetime spectacle. Big shout-outs to Egg and every other runner in the Kingdom Hearts Community. No matter what, be proud.
I just wanna show some appreciation for the montage edit about an hour into the video. I love the dbz budokai soundtrack and I’m sure that took a good amount of effort to get those cuts from the speed run to match the music. Great video.
Absolutely fantastic. First video of yours i ever saw thank you algorithm. would love to see more stuff like this from you. it was so well thought out and the attention to detail is great.
The editing, visual choices, and storytelling were STELLAR in this video. It's really nice to have full context behind the runners I spent so much time watching in the past.
Such a cool video, loved it!!! Im sure it took a loooong while to do the proper research for this, but I hope to see a "The History of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix Speedruns" sometime before 2023!
I haven't watched it all the way through yet but I can already tell this is going to be a banger video as always! Great job Saiyanz and everyone else involved! I'm so happy to be a part of this community, love you all!
Iv played and beat these games many times and I still learned so much in this video thank you for the knowledge im just a casual but there's a lot I didint know
Never expected to see one of these in-depth speedrun breakdowns for my favorite game. Incredible work! I can't imagine how much time, effort, and research went into this bad boy.
I really Loved watching this! I only started watching runs around 2019 (Temptleton's 2:09 was the first WR I ever saw), so I didn't know about a lot of these longer term records and runners until over the more recent years or even until this video. It was very interesting to see everything pooled together and even knowing some older runs are lost to time, it's a shame, but taking the records that are there for them and re-preserving them against everything else is great, so that at least their importance is known and acknowledged with everything that's still available today. I appreciate all the work and research that went into this so people who aren't familiar or haven't been around or involved for a long time can still appreciate the evolution of how the run has grown and changed over the years. It's crazy to think that even the last chunk was only as recent as like 2016 or so. In numbers, that was only 6 years, but in TIME - looking at the footage of everyone, looking at some of the strategies and how they were changed - it's really still SO MUCH. And that's JUST these recent six or so years. This was a great video, and I'm super happy it exists! 1FM runs are my personal favourite to watch and it was a very kind and thoughtful undertaking to put together something like this not just for the runners, but for the viewers who appreciate them and their hard work and success! 💖
One of the best speedrun history i have ever seen, so well edited and researched... now i just want to get more into the KH1FM speedrun and set times myself! Hope we can get a video of the similar quality for KH2FM someday, or more niche KH speedruns like re:coded, BbS etc.. Anyway thanks for putting so much effort into this project, and I hope it'll bring more interest and popularity for the speedrun of such a great game.
That was an amazing video, i enjoyed every second of it. Great work man, documenting the wr history for khfm had to have been a daunting task. Loved it dude💕
So hyped for this video I remember watching a few of the streams where you were working on it and I have to say you did an insane job and explained everything very well.
knowing you for years and still your editing your syncing your research capabilities still astound me to this day... you are a amazing person brother please never ever give up on your dreams!!!!
Damn I should have pushed my time way more in anticipation of this video. 27th place isn’t too bad though ❤ Great video. Cant wait to see the next chapter
Holy smokes, what a fantastic video. I feel bad being a month late. I've been looking forward to watching this for a long awhile. Amazing visuals and edits, clear explanations, and very cool seeing things from before I ran the game to seeing where it's gotten to now. THE best history of a Speedrun I've seen, and I've watched a lot of Speedrun history videos. Amazing work Saiyanz.
Completely based and one of the best KH videos ever made. It's insane to look back at some of Cyber's stuff all these years later with how ahead of the time it was. Hard to believe a lot of these runs are almost 20 or 10+ years old.
Thankyou very much a massive privilege to have one of the original runners of the series watch this! I have had a lot of requests to do KH2 and I am definitely interested but it’s a massive undertaking and would need assistance researching the history and runs as it takes up 80% of the time, I would probably need to get in touch with you regarding the early days of the game as I believe you are the original runner of KH2
@@Saiyanz I second Axel's sentiment. As someone who grew up watching and following Bizkit047's no damage critical runs of KH2FM in Japanese, I would love to see a history of that awesome game and its speedrunning community.
Damn I'm excited to watch this. I always love Speedrun history videos and Johnson hearts one is the only game I've ever learned the Speedrun for. Plus I know it's legit info since you've been involved in the scene for hundreds of years and you are a mood for the official Speedrun leaderboards. Thanks for the video my guy.
this was a great vid, love seeing people see the speed runs of kh, can you do kh 2 as well? that would be an epic undertaking but i feel would be worth it... maybe... i dunno i dont make vids
damn i still remember speedrunning with my still bff. and his damn early advantage. because i hate kh1 speedrunning. but atleast i always got the edge in kh2 and kh bbs :D this was a 3 game marathon and we sat in the same room so couldnt cheat. but todays times are way better than ours ever will be.

Thankyou so much, you are massive reason for fueling me the motivation to become the player and advocate I am for the community

So cool to be able to watch the progression of this speedrun. Awesome work in compiling this all together
Thankyou so much Destati, love your music and will have to get in touch and see if we can collaborate on future KH projects I may take on!

Amazing result! Thank you so much for having me on for commentary, it was an honour to be part of such a masterpiece of a video
Thankyou so much for being a part of the project!
Absolutely incredible video, everyone involved did an amazing job
This was so damn good I didn't even realize it had been 2 full hours.

This is such a sick video that brings back so many memories lmao
Thanks for putting in so much time/effort to make this

Beautiful video, perfectly edited and informative. The music rocked to!

Amazing video, thanks to everyone involved. Love learning stuff about my favourite game.
this is such an incredibly well made video from such a small channel, hoping this gets major traction because DAMN
I only just started but I'm already impressed by the editing in the intro. looking forward to the rest
Excellent essay! The care you have for speedrunning comes through in spades!
I just wanna show some appreciation for the montage edit about an hour into the video. I love the dbz budokai soundtrack and I’m sure that took a good amount of effort to get those cuts from the speed run to match the music. Great video.
Hey bro, amazing to see much a video bring your channel so many views and growth. Nice work, KH games are forever in our memories.
Absolutely fantastic. First video of yours i ever saw thank you algorithm. would love to see more stuff like this from you. it was so well thought out and the attention to detail is great.
Finally, a video that I can play over and over again while watching hentai on my other monitor. Saiyanz, you've really outdone yourself this time!

Absolutely superb video, mate! It's abundantly clear how much time and effort was put into it! Well done!

This video is super, Saiyanz ;)

Such a cool video, loved it!!! Im sure it took a loooong while to do the proper research for this, but I hope to see a "The History of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix Speedruns" sometime before 2023!
Great Video Saiyanz! Was cool to learn about some of the history of the run from before i became invested in it. Keep up the great work!
I haven't watched it all the way through yet but I can already tell this is going to be a banger video as always! Great job Saiyanz and everyone else involved! I'm so happy to be a part of this community, love you all!
I'm no speed runner person but I like Kingdom Hearts series and damn this is a well done documentary
Iv played and beat these games many times and I still learned so much in this video thank you for the knowledge im just a casual but there's a lot I didint know

The editing in this is simple and clean 👍

Well worth the wait, absolutely incredible video. Hard to believe some of this stuff was 9 years ago.

Back to rewatch these edits, still banger.
That was an amazing video, i enjoyed every second of it. Great work man, documenting the wr history for khfm had to have been a daunting task. Loved it dude💕

Great video dude
Holy smokes, what a fantastic video. I feel bad being a month late. I've been looking forward to watching this for a long awhile.
Amazing visuals and edits, clear explanations, and very cool seeing things from before I ran the game to seeing where it's gotten to now. THE best history of a Speedrun I've seen, and I've watched a lot of Speedrun history videos. Amazing work Saiyanz.
I was about to mention PS2 FM's cutscene skip function, but then I remembered that it only takes effect on repeat watches lol
"Are Eee Chain of Memories" and "Three Fifty-Eight Slash Two Days"? Sal, pls, much love, but my nitpicky heart.
BANGER VIDEO!
Amazing work!
Amazing job! I hope to se something like this for KH2 one day (:
Great video king!
Completely based and one of the best KH videos ever made. It's insane to look back at some of Cyber's stuff all these years later with how ahead of the time it was. Hard to believe a lot of these runs are almost 20 or 10+ years old.
A very amazing watch. I do have to ask though....are we gonna see this for other games of the series? Like KH2 for example? :)

Very interesting!

Great video man! I have to know, what is that banger of a track during Chapter 2 when the montage of Biz Vs. Mist is playing?
Just today another sub 1:50 time by PressOtoAttack was submitted, this speedrun category is so cool!
very good video
Anyone else catch it in chapter 3 “his detail to attention”?
Amazing video do you plan on examining the speedruns of othe kh number titles?
damn i still remember speedrunning with my still bff.
and his damn early advantage. because i hate kh1 speedrunning. but atleast i always got the edge in kh2 and kh bbs :D
this was a 3 game marathon and we sat in the same room so couldnt cheat. but todays times are way better than ours ever will be.
Hey man what is the song you used at the end credits? It's so soothing
