Has anyone else noticed that Mossberg put the red dot (that signifies safety off/fire position) in the opposite location of where it should be? My nephew’s rifle incorrectly shows the fire position indicator where the safety on position is.
Did you ever do the video on pillar bedding the Mossberg Patriot? I can't see it listed on your UA-cam channel. I was interested in buying a MP in .308. I sure would like to know about how you did it and how it performed.
Love the Boyd's stock but I'm hesitating because of the rear action screw. Is there still an issue with the plastic sleeve breaking since that gap is still there between the action and the screw support??
@@ikesoutdoors I got this response back from Mossberg: Hi Paul, Good afternoon the action screws can be torqued to 25 inch pounds. If you have further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us again. Thank you and have a good day. Sincerely, Customer Service Team O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc.
My MVP pulls at 3lbs. The manual states that the gun comes set at factory minimum. Manual also states it can be adjusted between 2-7. Is it safe to assume that factory minimum would be 3lbs?
@@bdc7273 put a boyd stock on it and then glass and pillar bedded it. The boyd stock and working up the most accurate hand load are what benefited it the most.
Interesting. A few years ago I contacted Boyd's twice about getting an At-One stock for my Mossberg Patriot .308 Win. Two different times, they told me no. So, what is the secret? Specify Remington 700 clone?
@@ikesoutdoors I see it now, thanks. That is a change. Maybe I was not the only one to ask them. Maybe they offered it all along and the person I had asked was not in a helpful mood.
Now it's way to check and see if it's unloaded You didn't even slide the boat back when you said you were going to check and see if it was unloaded but at that point it was past when you should have looked You should have looked before you disassembled a gun to begin with
@@ikesoutdoors That's not the point that I was trying to make My point is at 2 minutes and 39 seconds into the video You said ( "we're going to check And make sure this gun is unloaded" ) And then you lifted the bolt lever just enough to unlock it then re-locked it and pulled the trigger So by saying we're going to check but but then you did not check You just pulled the trigger That's the point but I'm not one of these safety freaks that thinks you should show the camera every time It was what you said You were going to do but did not do it so I would hope You know whether you're gun is loaded or not And I would hope double check before you started filming I don't see that it's necessary to show everyone watching the video that the gun is cleared but on the other hand that is kind of being responsible and teaching others to do the same so I see why people complain but I'm not complaining I was just making a point of what you said and then done that's it

I like thanks for the video!

Thanks for the post, very helpful. Just a quick question, what torque weight did you use to put the stock back on?
I can't remember I think it was 14 lbs but that's just a guess. I found the correct spec by doing a Google search

My Savage Trophy Hunter was sweet out of the box while the Patriot was heavy. Thanks Mossberg for making me mod my rifle before i can shoot it.
Where do you find parts for that Savage? Are they still NLA?
@@marinepete9148 Mine came with Nikon scope. All it needed was some better weaver rings and an extra magazine. Brownells sells parts.
Would it ruin anything to take the screw completely out ??
Vortex Crossfires are good scopes for the money.
I'm pretty happy with it for a hunting scope. I'll probably upgrade to something else eventually
What is the purpose of the embedded (silver color) metal in/at the finger trigger?
It's basically a safety mechanism on the trigger.
How accurate has the grouping on this rifle been for you?
Factory was sub MOA with the work I did to it and hand loads I reduced it to little less than 1/2"
@@ikesoutdoors what work have you done to it?

No secret. I just filled out the order form and got my stock a few weeks later.

My .308 was around 2 when I got it. Guess I got lucky.
