The Flash movie looks rough

A funny detail I couldn't fit in the script: this movie was announced roughly a week after the pilot episode of The CW's Flash show aired. Nine seasons later, the movie is being released after the series finale
You know… Given how easy it is to joke about the Arrowverse for obvious reasons, I give Grant Gustin a lot of credit, maybe more than he deserves. Despite that shows very few highs and many, many, MANY lows, he did a lot of what they asked him to do. Granted, it’s his job, but still. I’m sure he had fun with the role, and finally getting to live out his childhood dream of sharing the stage with Superman in the crossover events. Since it’s been confirmed that Grant plans to step away from the Flash after the series is over, after nine years he deserves a long break. I say that because a lot of fans have deluded themselves into hoping he would be involved with James Gunns DCU reboot, but that would take away the idea of what a reboot is.
Cw woke garbage
@@comixproviderftw_02 Ezra was a mess on set and off. As far as I’ve heard grant is a golden boy, who’s been rude or die with a horrible show for 9 seasons. I Hope he was at LEAST considered for the part. Feel so bad for the guy as he wants too be the role but is in purgatory with the role. I’d feel so slighted if I saw on the news he was straight up assaulting people and saw they were sticking with the little fruit anyways. Grants a really good actor man imagine him with a good writing team and budget.
I love Tom Holland spider man
@@npitzer How?
For the fastest man alive he sure does take his time releasing films

While NWH definitely doesn't go light on the fan service, it wasn't just jingling keys in front of the audiences faces for 2 hours. I thought it did a great job using the the past characters to help tell MCU Peters story. Like Spider-Verse it showed what it meant to be Spider-Man with other spider people(not as good as verse, but still good) Jury's still out on Flash, but using the past can be in service of something greater.
Well, Sony is luckier than DC because they, unlike DC, can use the help of Feige and the MCU team who know how to make a crowd pleasing even if mediocre superhero movie. Flash will be good even if only in the fact that it will going to kill the abomination that was DCEU. Let's hope that James Gunn can create something more interesting from it's ashes.
You're right it was jingling keys for 1 hour and the other hour was a complete mess
@@user-bf1oe6km6kyou’re a joke
I wouldn’t be surprised if they got Grant Gustin to film a cameo for the Flash movie. That would be the big OMG moment. As a way to go full circle after Ezra’s cameo on Crisis on Infinite Earths. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, accidental but still perfect. Considering that this year is the end for both of the Arrowverse after The Flash season 9 and the old era of the DCEU until the James Gunn DCU era official starts.
That would be what Marvel couldn't do - bring a major TV character to movies. Not the new streaming Disney+ crap, but actual TV show. Feige never had the guts to do so with Agents of SHIELD, so I'm hoping DC actually does it. Because I'm totally sick of movies ignoring TV shows already.
@@TabalugaDragon Funny you should mention that because it’s been rumored and even teased that Chloe Bennett will appear on Secret Invasion since that series is more of S.H.I.E.L.D. story with Nick Fury as the protagonist. So there’s your Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D connection three years after the series ended.
@@comixproviderftw_02 I'll believe it when I see it, but they should have done it WAY earlier. Imagine Quake during the final battle in Endgame. How awesome that would be.
And Yoyo helping them out with her superspeed.
@@TabalugaDragon Hey, how do you think I feel? A month before Endgame came out, I actually had a dream the Defenders would appear in that movie. No joke. But at least Daredevil is back now.
@@TabalugaDragon Daredevil was in no way home
I was excited for the Flash movie cause after seeing what the character could be capable of on the TV show, the Flash is a character that was MADE for movie adaptations. Where they have the budget and the time to craft huge stories. But seeing the Flash movie featuring all these characters makes me think they don't really wanna craft a movie about the Flash and his world and more just a movie to explain their rebooted universe. This just doesn't seem like a real Flash solo movie.
I really hope that in James Gunn's DCU Flash gets an actual solo movie, with a completely new cast.
Grant Gustin will get a huge ego boost when everyone watches this movie and says that hes the superior flash
I think he’ll just enjoy his retirement of the character and this movie will be the least of his concern
@@comixproviderftw_02 Oh yeah my man is fucking done with the Flash
CW's Flash: FINALLY, We Got Ross off our Show boys!
Grant Gustin is like, “look I may have been on tv show that lasted longer than it should’ve had. But at least I didn’t do any of the things Ezra Miller did.”
This movie sounds like a modern day version of The Island of Doctor Moreau.
I don't understand how people call these cAmEoS if they have a important role in the film?
True. I do hope we get some actual cameos in the movie tho. Maybe some characters from Keaton Batman universe. 👍
Is also funny that the spanish voice actor of Batman, René García(who Made the voice of Both Batfleck & Michael Keaton in the past) Refuse to voice dub this movie BECAUSE HE FELT SO UNMOTIVATED & UNINTERESTED on doing it
I never realized How many subs you got you so underrated
Flash returns in: outrunning child laws
Yo, Ross. When you gonna release a Flash Season 9 video?
Ahhhhh, i thought it looked really good... (the non Keaton parts btw, idc abt Keaton I was born after 2000)
Yeah, I felt like I as crazy because I’ve just got zero excitement coming out of this trailer.
Well there's already been news about how they scrapped stories and ended up choosing flash point, probably because they were scrapping Snyderverse. Then at that point its just delaying the movie until they actually have a reset point and they let james gun decide the rest. We'll see what reshoots were done because that was also covered in the news in the last year. Expecting a new flash at the end if I'm being honest.
Why am I even surprised every comment has to do with the offhanded mention that you dislike the Spider-Man movie?
I'll be honest, I'm not planning on seeing this movie in theaters. I'll see it on DVD or something later, but I don't want to give WB my money after all the controversy surrounding this movie.
All I know is that I've seen actors "cancelled" and removed from movies for a lot less. (and sometimes pure bs)... so that's enough for me not to watch this or anything that follows.
My sentiments exactly.
Was 1 Erza already not far too much Ezra?
I just can't wait to watch the supercut of all the returning actors and save a couple hours
Right after this video youtube autoplayed a video on the same trailer twice as long with someone who had literally the opposite takes of what you had and I found that really funny and wanted to share
watch how this movie will turn out to be amazing
Even if there is a 1% chance that Flash will be good, I have to take it as an absolute certainty.
Im cursed to give these DC movies a chance because of how wrong I was about the Snyder cut existing - let alone becoming one of my favorite comic book movies. Maybe Flash can do the same despite my low low low low low expectations. Low
Snyder Cut sits on a very very strange throne of comic book movies that dont aim for perfection, but instead to have their own unique personality. The ones that I will think about for the rest of my life because they werent perfect. Other such modern classics include: Ang Lee's Hulk, Thomas Jane Punisher, Josie and the Pussycats, Casper, Judge Dredd (yeah that one, not the good one), and Superhero Movie (I'm not wearing any diamonds).
So while Flash is being marketed as vanilla, it could actually be tapioca and more disappointing than the pudding cup I thought you saw. Alternatively, maybe its actually just a jar of mayonnaise and I can make a turkey sandwich instead. But Im going to make lunch either way, so take that as you will.
Hey Ross, do you want to do a video on the flash movie?
It's been out for some time now
My guess is that the reason this feels weird is because it's just supposed to be a reset.
I gotta say it's weird to have a flash movie without having the most popular flash villian in it but yay michael keatons batman is in it... cool
It's not. Batman Begins didn't have Joker, Spiderman: Homecoming didn't have Green Goblin. And those were fine movies. Batman V. Superman had Luthor and Doomsday and it was atrocious.
Batman begins had the league of assasins a group that goes hand and hand with batman, homecoming didn't have green goblin because there was already 5 movies about spiderman and the first one of those had green goblin as the first main villain and yes batman v superman was awful. But to do flashpoint without reverse flash its actually fucking stupid taking into consideration that the whole reason as to why he goes and creates this timeline its out of the actions of reverse flash, to have again the annoying at this point fight in metropolis its kinda lame. Hopefully well have the reverse flash as main antagonist and the rest its just for the trailers
@@brunohernandez3693 Let's ask 100 random people about a Batman villains. How many will say League of the Assassins? Maybe 1?
@@sathrielsatanson666 if they say ra's al ghul then it counts ;)
@@sathrielsatanson666 yeah but at least Ra's al Ghul is a Batman villain, unlike General Zod. Although I guess technically Dark Flash was the main villain of the story but he was barely in it (so maybe there was no villain of the story? Or maybe they were trying to say Barry Allen is the villain of this story?)
My guess is that this movie uses time Travel to make a soft reboot (like it did in the comics) which will lead to the gunniverse.
It will. That’s the plan.
Honestly, the cw „The Flash“-show looks better than the movie to me.
CW flash is a great actor ruined by terrible writing
1# I don't like that supergirl,
2# I don't like this Flash
3# this batman cameo... it's just a troll
I just wanna see the flash run fast and be impressive and do flash things
Waiting for the flash session 9 video
I'm glad I'm not the only person who isn't %100 sold on this movie.
Let Jody's corner tell it ,it's the rise of DC,that fan boy is so jealous of what the MCU used to be, he desperately wants a DCU ,despite the market over saturation of the genre

I guess "they" is more accurate here instead of Miller trying to escape justice when arrested ^^
I like how NWH has exactly what he was complaining about
I mean it doesn't. The movie is great.

Now that you're done with the Flash TV show, I do hope you get to this eventually (when it's free because OOF.) I think it's fascinating for both how much of a train wreck parts are there's a few small scale moments that I think do hit well. Also the hubris of trying to make a character's first movie ever what feels like it should be movie 3 or 4.
You thought it looked bad ? I’m usually with your takes but I wasn’t minding it.
I have always said the DC cinematic universe should have been set in the Batman Beyond to Adam West's Batman show.
So.... about the Flash season 9 rewatch. Still waiting!!!
I agree with you I was shocked to see a trailer during the Superbowl... And this is just to kickstart James Gunns universe.
Hey Ross, what happend to your Wonder Woman video? :C
“Can we not get a super hero movie that’s just reminding us of other super hero movies from the past.”
Okay so in this example, that’s this, no way home and……..?
The second thing that sells other than Sex is Nostalgia
Perhaps he was alluding to the MCU, which after Endgame, spends a whole lot of time tying everything into everything else.
@@RossMcIntyre At least with NWH, Tom Holland didn’t get completely overshadowed by Tobey and Andrew, and it was still his story through it all.
The way people think James Gunn is gonna ruin the DCEU even though the DCEU was ruined before it even started a whole ass decade ago.
It can always get worse (and it will)
What his face was probably gonna be fired if he didn’t say he likes the flash am not serious
We await your video on the flash season 9
season 9 video when
Ah yes because there are so few movies about a single superhero who fights villains. I mean there have been waaaay to many movies which reminded us about old movies! There is... let me think... No way Home, Dr. Strange 2... that crossover on the CW... ummm and... ummm yeah I mean so many crossovers it's sickening!
On a serious note idk why you're complaining here. Sure this concept may be done to death in the future but right now it's still pretty fresh. I wanna see those actors in their old roles again while they are still alive darn it! Even if the movie turns out to be bad I'll be happy to see Michel Keaton as Batman one more time.
Lmaoooo please do a video on that god awful series finale😂😂😂
In defense of NWH, I think that movie threads the needle between nostalgia wank and an engaging theme/character-driven story.
It’s entirely possible The Flash manages the same.
At least with NWH, Tom Holland didn’t get completely overshadowed by Tobey and Andrew and it was still his story.
Still waiting on your flash season 9 review
The Flash is going to suck (really, the screenwriter of Birds of Prey and the director of IT), Deadline just reported Shazam 2 is set to open to the worst box office of any DCEU film and apparently Aquaman 2 has had dismal test screenings, yet somehow I think James Gunn's hiring may be the worst decision WB/DC has made in the past decade. I feel for genuine DC fans.
They’re not gonna say they’re getting rid of people before a movie comes out because they still need to sell tickets. Once The Flash and the other ones come out, THEN we’ll get the news that they’re no longer staying.
Bro made a video to shit on a movie that has been called “one of the best superhero films in a long time” by multiple test screening audiences 💀
Yeah he did
It looks even worse in the actual movie 💀
The cgi for supergirl 🤢
Ok, let’s not go too far. The cgi for this movie is nowhere that bad.
@ComiXProvider FTW_02 it doesn't look great, but it's still better than the rushed cgi in recent marvel films
Supergirl just can't look decent in cg I guess....😔
Ross is such a Flash simp and he hates it.
The plot of this movie was leaked a while back, it's gonna be absolutely horrible.
Well i belive in james gunns opinion
When your next video
On the surface level, this movie looks dumb and I have no interest in it.
But on a deeper level,
I mean it looks better than a film with this much turmoil can look. I’m just hoping we get some rly cool flash abilities showcased with enough money to do it justice.
I hope the old DCEU can at least die with dignity after this movie.
What's so bad about the multiverse concept? This is amazing
@@truespartan1000 What? we just started this
@@truespartan1000 It's tired? Name 10 Multiverse movies that have come out in the last decade.
@@truespartan1000 I want a more scaled back movie. Not everything needs to be a world changing, ending event. I hope in the new Superman whenever it comes out that I just see the dude saving people. So simple. Dude let everyone die in man of steel. Didn’t save one person in the city while fighting. We need to scale shit back.
The problem isn't here, it's the fact they promote is so badly trough cameos and other characters from same universe but still different versions instead of focusing on the main protagonist.
The Flash (from Comic Book), has so many stories you can use to do a great movie about him. Even so, Flashpoint is one of the best stories about him. but Flashpoint isn't about multiverse.
And here, they do some kind of movie about Flashpoint, but in fact, they did some kind of mixed universe characters for no reasons, like Keaton's Batman.
Also, the fact in a trailer about The Flash, in his own movie, he's basically a fanboy of another superhero, with a version of himself feeling like some kind of degenerate manchild...
It's The Flash. If they want a movie about multiverse, maybe start with introducing properly your hero trough his own movie before doing it?
@@mang4260They have to do it because snyder messed up the dceu and we have to start fresh again
I don’t care. I just need to see Keaton one last time and give him one last adventure.

No Way Home in my opinion worked well as a movie on it's on, as well as being really heavy on the nostalgia. I hope the Flash can do that too.
ummmm . where tf have you been …
I LOVE this video. You hit the nail on the head with every single point. The Flash looks like nothing more than a nostalgia fest. The EXACT problem with No Way Home. Too bad I got attacked for saying this though!

The flash season 9
You can't handle complex ideas and complex thoughts and movies with more than just one main character but you have to juggle a lot going on just to get to the conclusion that school is nothing wrong with it as opposed to just having one superheroine one main villain that has been tried and done a thousand times over move on and do something different
Some things are done the way they are because they work. You can say: Bah, all the sandwiches are made with two slices of bread, give me a sandwich made with paper sheets but you cannot expect it will come out good. Spiderman 3 is a great example how too many villains is asking for troubles.
Finally someone who agrees with me about No way home!! Nice to know I'm not alone!! Great video!
Besides the fact that I'm not going to see this train wreck because I am not supporting Ezra Miller with my wallet (he should be in jail for what he's done and if he wasn't famous he would be.) it also just looks terrible. Michael Keaton's delivery of the line "yea, I'm Batman" felt like the second half of the statement was cut saying "They drove a lot of money up to my door so here I am. God damn."
He actively looks like he doesn't want to be there. I would've gladly had them keep Batgirl instead of this. And the really stupid part is that when this film flops morons on here are going to claim it supports their nonsense theory of "superhero fatigue".
It’s hard to judge a movie from one trailer, but this trailer was AWFUL. This type of pure cash grab, desperate movie combined with the growing terror of ever increasing deepfake technologies, truly make me sick imagining what kind of crowd pleasing blockbusters will be made in the future. Imagine getting a Star Wars movie starring young deepfaked Carrie Fisher in a movie that takes place between Empire and Return of the Jedi, or something like that.
No Way Home actually had good writing, a good story and good characters.
But this movie is probably gonna be what No Way Home could've been if it was made under desperation.
