There were a couple other boxes that I found along your route. There was a safe at the South cutthroat camp next to that trunk at 20:23 that gave me ammo. There is a 0 level locked ammo box at the third guard tower behind the cage at 22:49. Between the couch and the fence. I stopped around there since I got plenty of ammo from the run. Great video, I didn't know you can farm Ultracite this way and have been avoiding modding my weapons for that reason. As a suggestion: You can press "R" on PC on corpses to also loot nearby bodies so you don't have to run to each one.
Yeah, no real reason not to prime your weapons imo. You get tons of Ultracite ammo from contextual ammo. You can also craft large quantities of it pretty easily too.

The 255 loot rule applies here. After looting the boxes, you need to loot another 255 items. Most people go to Summersville and loot the burned books in the first house, but any 255 items will work. Then server hop and loot the boxes again. Time is not a factor in the equation. I hope that helps.

Some folks are nice enough to sell ammo for cheap. Ive been avoiding using my automatic weapons because they run out of so fast and then it takes s long time to passively recover it. I try doing by peoples camps and a lot of people will seek that ammo for a cap each which i guess is still expensive but personally the cap to fun ratio is worth it
The only points I'd bring up is that dead enemies don't drop ammo for the weapon you have equipped. They drop ammo for the weapon(s) you used to attack (kill) it with, with a chance of dropping other ammo. Lootable boxes will contain ammo that you currently have equipped. More specifically, they will contain ammo for the weapon you had equipped when the game engine decided what to render inside of the box. So if you proximity discover an ammo box while holding the 10mm pistol but then switch to a shotgun before opening the box, you'll more than likely still get 10mm ammo from that box, not shotgun ammo.

Just serverhop Camden park upwards from the ash heap it gives you 54 lead per run in about 5 mins you’ll have over 300 round of your ammo of choices btw make sure to run ammo factory and ammosmith max them out if you can but if your under level 50 just run ammosmith or take this route pick your poison
Good point, my friend. If you're running some of the more ammo hungry guns you definitely want to include other methods for getting ammo. Especially crafting your own.
How come even with scrounger on I'm only getting like an extra 3-6 ammo? I'm so confused all the videos I see when scrounger goes off they get like double the ammo but for some reason I only get like 3 to 6 extra ammo?..
Scrounger is a nice to have for sure, but depending on the ammo type it will be less effective. For example missiles and mini nukes you generally get one from each ammo box. When scrounger goes off you get two. Fifty percent increase. Other ammo types where you might get thirty or forty rounds might get the same percentage, but maybe that's only 3-6 rounds more that the forty you would have gotten. What type of ammo are you looking for?
Yup, locked ammo boxes offer increased rewards. Not so much on level-0 boxes, but that's a level-1 ammo box so definitely increased rewards from that one.
Yeah, shotguns are like me with my Level Action Rifle. One shot one kill. Very ammo efficient. Automatic weapons are pretty inefficient. When running automatic weapons you kind of have to employ multiple strategies to keep on top of it. Using ammo converters, buying it off players when you can find it, crafting it yourself, and doing runs like the ones in this video. I'm planning more ammo videos. This is the first in the playlist for ammo specifically.
That's my Anti Armor Lever Action Rifle. It's also got +50% VATS Hit Chance and Crit Charge. I've had it for years. I love it. Super ammo efficient. I'd save up my jelly beans and roll one with legendary cores. Probably your best chance.
Not currently, no, but I'll move it up the list. If you just need a few, you can hit the vendors at the Whitespring Mall. Helena at the NW end will almost always have a few silver items that you can buy and scrap. I'll get to work on that guide soon.
It does. You get mini nukes the same way as other ammo, but you get only 1 or two with Scrounger which seems right. It does seem a little buggy though with mini nukes. I got a lot more empty containers.
i was server hopping the new vault 63 (Dark hollow manor) But it dont work anymore after the new update its either glitched or patched. i would get 300+ ammo when i was doing it
After you loot 255 more items and server-hop. Most people go to Summersville and loot all the books in the first house. There are over 300 there. Then, server-hop and they should test on another server unless someone else grabs them.
@@aridenkane i was running with a quad 50 cal machine gun to mow down scorched and ghouls. I wanna keep the 50 cal until I’m able to get better legendary upgrades on it. Recently I’ve been using the Gourmand’s Bow with stealth armor, the damage boost works with me because I’m always picking up food to stay well fed and hydrated anyways
Sadly this doesn't help much for me you hardly get any 40mm explosive grenade rounds when using this method (which is what I mainly need) and you can't get any mini nukes from ammo crates which also sucks doing this method & players sell those two types of ammo for stupid unrealistic amounts of caps. So I'm stuck crafting and using that horrible ammo converter along with daily ops as my only option along with expiditions.
Yeah those ammo types are difficult. I would think that Daily Ops and Expeditions are the way to go. Ammo Converter isn't awful except for the entire damn interface.
The first two locations will work right out of the Vault. Locations three and four, you may need a couple levels, but a level twenty right out of the vault could do it. Admittedly, the last location is for higher levels, but I can't leave the veterans out. Let me know if you've tried to run the first four without success. Maybe a new video for people right out of the vault done on a new character would be more helpful. I'd be down for that.
Yeah, some of the ammo types are definitely more problematic than others. I'm never in danger of running out of .45 even Ultracite .45. Very efficient ammo type.
In the first section where you go to the crumpled tents, there is an ammo bag at the back of the tent, as well as the ammo box shown 👍

You can also farm ammo by joining the event and try to last hit on every targets ,you’ll collect a lot of ammo as loot.
Honestly that is probably the best way to farm ammo unless you've got a super inefficient gun.

This systemic ammo drop system, does it work for mini nukes?
It does. You get mini nukes the same way as other ammo, but you get only 1 or two with Scrounger which seems right. It does seem a little buggy though with mini nukes. I got a lot more empty containers.
i was server hopping the new vault 63 (Dark hollow manor) But it dont work anymore after the new update its either glitched or patched. i would get 300+ ammo when i was doing it
I hate when the good stuff gets patched out.

Do you know when they respawn?
After you loot 255 more items and server-hop. Most people go to Summersville and loot all the books in the first house. There are over 300 there. Then, server-hop and they should test on another server unless someone else grabs them.

@@aridenkane i was running with a quad 50 cal machine gun to mow down scorched and ghouls. I wanna keep the 50 cal until I’m able to get better legendary upgrades on it. Recently I’ve been using the Gourmand’s Bow with stealth armor, the damage boost works with me because I’m always picking up food to stay well fed and hydrated anyways

Lol, yeah, I roll a lever action rifle most of the time, so I don't have too many ammo issues unless I bring out my flamer.
Sadly this doesn't help much for me you hardly get any 40mm explosive grenade rounds when using this method (which is what I mainly need) and you can't get any mini nukes from ammo crates which also sucks doing this method & players sell those two types of ammo for stupid unrealistic amounts of caps. So I'm stuck crafting and using that horrible ammo converter along with daily ops as my only option along with expiditions.
Yeah those ammo types are difficult. I would think that Daily Ops and Expeditions are the way to go. Ammo Converter isn't awful except for the entire damn interface.

The first two locations will work right out of the Vault. Locations three and four, you may need a couple levels, but a level twenty right out of the vault could do it. Admittedly, the last location is for higher levels, but I can't leave the veterans out. Let me know if you've tried to run the first four without success. Maybe a new video for people right out of the vault done on a new character would be more helpful. I'd be down for that.
This route is pretty newb friendly. Take a risk and take a route with a little more chest hair on it. Crawl out through the fallout.

IMO, there is too much ammo, food, and water I this game...
I can see that. I know now that I'm higher level I don't have food or ammo problems as much, but I remember how painful it was when I was new.
I have about 2000 rounds for .45 but have hard time getting 10mm
Yeah, some of the ammo types are definitely more problematic than others. I'm never in danger of running out of .45 even Ultracite .45. Very efficient ammo type.
