You'll want to level up damage perks pertaining to your weapon of choice. Don't use any perk that alters your hunger and thirst. At 25, you can go to the perk card machine and respecc.
one thing i sugest, because you can have two builds at the same time for free (if you go to the special punch machine) I use one for crafter, hes basically my repair and craft and use the perks on him that required it. Then I have my main damage dealer with other set of perks. You can have other special slot but i believe you have to pay atoms for it, so technically you can run a few different build if you really want it.
Like most experienced players, I have two builds just for crafting and repairing - one for armor, another for weapons. Weapons build also has the perk card for ammo. I make ammo every few weeks so also swap out a legendary card for ammo factory. Can make a ton of ammo this way.
I just started playing and I honestly just been throwing random cards on but now that i actually understand how they work I’m definitely gonna change some things
Traveling Pharmacy < selling your excess drugs at vendors You might feel like you're getting ripped off by NPC vendors but if you loot everything from every corpse (easy to do since the "search all corpses" feature was added) you can clear out the NPC caps daily
Something I've noticed with Super Duper is that it activates a lot more often if you exit the cooking station every time it activates and then go back in.
Cola nut is great perk card that lets you use colas instead of stimpacks greatly, it dont have that awfully long animation and you get also AP from those, and colas arw super easy to farm, especially when you get collectron from those (I think also no collectron really gets you stimpacks at all, and if so, not reliably for sure), also you can carry just minimum of stimpacks for ocassional player healing, so you can safe on chem carry perk and food one too, if you wear backpack
There is no shortcut to use nuka cola for healing like stimpack or healing salve on console , plus healing salve has no animation too and it very easy to craft.
@@madpixiel7602 well, I play on PC, so I put cola on one of 1-9 keys used to select things, so I guess there it is drawback, healing salve I honestly never used as far I can remember, maybe accidentally or if it was maybe on some cahllange still I think cola nut is quite good card in general
Used to play on Xbox in fact I have 96 days on Xbox , recently got back on the game on pc about 2 weeks ago and am loving the game now it’s so much better
13:41 If you are a newish bloodied build, you might be better off with 1 point Better Crit and 3 point Serendipity instead of the other way around like West here. 1 point BC gives 50% bonus to Crit while 3 point gives 100%, so diminishing returns are a factor here. Not so with Serendipity. Obvi giving up damage for defense but maybe that's what you need if you feel you're dying too much
Cannibal perk mixed with the Carnivor mutation is an extremely good combo. It does mean you can't eat plant based food, but it's extremely easy to heal up and fill hunger without tue plants
An odd perk I was using while levelling up is Good Doggy. The amount of Dog Food you find. Pair that with Carnivore mutation, albeit you gain no buffs but you gain a lot of progress to the food bar when consumed.
I have a buyer, a gun maker/ammo and armor/repair load outs as well as a heavy, melee, etc. 8 load outs and growing. Less perk card changing that way. Be nice if they would accommodate load outs by allowing at least one different Legendary perk per load out. Also be nice to have different kits for each load out (armor, weapons).
With the Vampire legendary effect, you simply need six options: 1. Ricochet 2. Good resistance for all types of damage 3. Fast fire rate 4. Solar armor set 5. Healing factor mutation 6. Ghoulish

Guys, when crafting ammo, once youre level 50, get the ammo legendary perk that lets you craft double, ammo smith perk, AND super duper perk (has chance to double ANYTHING you make, including weapons, ammo, armor, chems. Etc) Youll make a LOT of ammo for little materials!!
I've recently started playing the game I'm loving it! I just wish I could find a more powerful silenced rifle to use. right now I'm using legendary gatling gun it's grown on me but need silent gun to go with my chinese armor
"Perk Cards You Should Be Using" >lists every gd perk in the game some feedback if you want your videos to be more useful instead of overwhelming to a new player like me. Narrow it down to one or two NON-bloodied builds (because no new player is going to be able to put together a bloodied build yet) a level 50 character could equip with their available perk points. Separate them thematically, as in don't alternate between combat and crafting perks or you're gonna have a listener running around with Scrapper equipped all the time like I did for a day Thank you for the Tadpole backpack video btw. I completed mine today and you were a big help
I think the biggest shock is how some perk cards do not combine, some I can understand but lock picking and hacking are perk cards that do not stack for some reason. Also, the perk cards that allow for crafting, it is very worth while to get like to tier 3 or 4 since Fallout76 has a very different damage distribution system than 4, so full automatics are very viable.
A little something to add to the weapon class perk cards. It's better to have 3 level 1 cards than it is to have 1 level 3 card. A level1 card gives you 10%, so 3 of those is 30%. A level 3 gives you 20%. So if you're leveling up to get the perk cards, go with one regular, one master and one expert (order does not matter). THAN go for level 2 and 3 of the cards.
Im a newer player and was really looking forward to perk coins at the end of the season pass this season since this is my first season ill be here at the start of right. So those arent available anymore... being able to just use more or higher tier perks in my very first build more quickly would've been great. I played about 3 weeks this past season and i got to rank 83. Unfortunate i didnt start playing earlier 😢
It sucks that all new players coming are going to leave as soon as they see how limited they are without paying for p2w stuff like everything that's included with fallout first
No need to pay to play this game you don't need to carry one thousand weapon on you stash or on your character , most of scrap are useless after you have build your camp , and after you reach a certain le bel even repair your stuff cost nothing because you'll get bunch of repair kit. If you can't play the game without paying you need to rethink how you manage your stuff. For me the problem is the lack of content when you reach the end game and the stupid weapon balancing.
Earned a sub. Love the name. Love the speed of speaking, the annunciation. Im new here. Not new to fallout but new to 76. Level 40 because i decided to do the start at 20 since i can reassign perk points later. Events alone and being carried through got me to where im at. My fellow wastelanders were nothing short of generous. One guy said follow me and led me to power armor. Another gave me a 3 star legendary bow i use religiously.
Hi, everyone. I am so lost with ranking up and using my perk cards. I am at level 79 and I started at level one. I cannot seem to be able to keep adding one point at a time when I rank up to each of the special sections. As of today, I have: S:15, P:9, E:5, C:9, I:10, A:8, and L:3. (59 points total), but I am stuck without being able to keep adding points. "LUCK" has been at "3" for over 20 levels now and I can't add a point to make it a "4". Again, I cannot or forgot how to do it, or I changed something on my end that I cannot get back to being able to add points. I can only add to an single perk card (add a start to it) without being able to add a point to the larger "Luck" category, for example. Ques: Do I have to wait until I get to level 100 (as an example) to once again start adding to my SPECIAL? Is it possible to add 15 points to each SPECIAL category? Is there a limit to how many point one can put into SEECIAL before one can no longer add points? HELP! LOL. This part is not very intuitive. Thanks!
Starched Genes isn't a must for me. I have all the mutations and i just make sure to avoid decon arches or using radaway, just using Nuka Grape to keep my rads down if i need to, or just making sure that at least one armour piece had rad healing 😋
My account is definitely bugged because all power stations are broken and I need to do a lot of stuff to get them to work BUT that perk that gives you double of what you craft props EVERY time, and I'm not kidding, it goes off every single time I have it equipped. An annoying tradeoff because I'm a heavy weapon power armor build but whatever I guess, it's really op when crafting ammo
You can grab an extra load out or 2 (store/my account has perk loadouts & extra CAMPS)… have a build for battle & another for crafting/shopping/farming, etc. so you don’t have to trade off
Lol id been trying to either learn the explosive mod or get the mod box for months. Then the other day i was about to stop playing after several hours and without even thinking i scrapped a weapon and booom! I learned the mod! Lol now i just have to find an explosive bobblehead to craft and put it on my quad railway.
I have an annoying glitch where I can get new perk cards after leveling up, but it wont increase the number of perks so I can’t equip it. Example: I have 8 perception, I level up and get a new perception perk card, but perception is still 8 so I have to swap it out. (I’m lvl 60 right now)
Im a newbie, but played FO 4 since it came out as well as the other fallouts, but just got the nerve up to play 76. I think i had a block on playing with others. The perk system has been really confusing, so thanks for clearing it up ,some. Im still trying to figure out why im still not able to pick any locks over 1 even though i have ranked it up. Do i have to have Lockpick, Expert lockpick and Master in order to pick higher locks?
I dont know if you have one already, but can you do a video on things to do after finishing the main quests and a good chunk of the sidequests? Im almost out of obvious things to do and am kinda lost!
Im currently being a PA Heavy Gunner - lvl 125 - BUT i wanna go for a Low health crit build - but getting the SS armor with unyielding and the right guns...gosh its a hustle...
I've been grinding the heck out of 76 to get the Cremator. Two sessions of 32 and 35 hours. Not just in 76, watching Disney+ too, but mostly 76. I want the Washer/Dryer. I've been jump-scared so many times. I made myself a L20 Shotgunner, switched to Heavy when I looted a .50 cal. Now I want to be an ammo manufacturer. I have Ammosmith maxed. What would you recommend? I want a crapload of ammo to sell.
I just hit 50 but still haven’t decided what build I should be. lol I don’t even have that great of weapons so it’s hard to know what I’m gonna like. I know it’s awful but I have commando, rifleman, and shotgun perks all on because I switch weapons so much xD I need to learn about crafting legendaries or whatever so I can start to try to get a good weapon
On the chemist perk you forgot to mention pair it with the dupe perk in luck. Can't think of the name of it, but it has chance to double everything crafted. Edit: Super duper is the perk card I was thinking about.

question: any weapon that is not originally an energy weapon (eg baseball bat) but with an elemental damage modifier, does that weapon become an energy weapon and therefore receives the buff from energy damage cards?
Not sure I’ll ever fully understand the perk cards. I’m almost level 500 but I’m still learning the card set up, thank you for all you do west!!💪🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for all the lovely comments my man :)
Your videos are super useful. Thank you!
Glad you like them, and thanks for watching 😊
Love the educational videos. This really helps new players like myself. Would like to see leveling builds from 1-50, most are for after 50.
You’re on fire MrWestTek!!! Tnx for all the new guides and helping out the new players ❤
No problem, I love making these videos 👌
I just started playing and I honestly just been throwing random cards on but now that i actually understand how they work I’m definitely gonna change some things
Contractor is definitely a must when you get started with CAMP building
Hey MrWestTek, I know that you're not a mainly Power Armor user, but could you make a video on best Power Armor/Heavy Gunner build?
Just to add, can you make a build for us newbies without having maxed out legendary perk cards? Thanks!
both of these please
Traveling Pharmacy < selling your excess drugs at vendors
You might feel like you're getting ripped off by NPC vendors but if you loot everything from every corpse (easy to do since the "search all corpses" feature was added) you can clear out the NPC caps daily
Yeah, and sometimes the players buy my chems in vendor machines at more reasonable price, so I always add chems there too
Purified water is what I sell to the vendors.
@@octolockg5059 usually they go bankrupt before I even get to water. Collected guns, bulk scrap, chems.
me: so, what are the best perk cards?
MrWestTek: yes 😃
Amazing a real help I’ve been drowning in perk card options now I have a hope 😅😊❤
Something I've noticed with Super Duper is that it activates a lot more often if you exit the cooking station every time it activates and then go back in.
Thanks for the info, played a while ago (before NPCs) but started fresh again. So much to learn!
Their is, I'm still learning myself 🤷♂️
@@madpixiel7602 well, I play on PC, so I put cola on one of 1-9 keys used to select things, so I guess there it is drawback, healing salve I honestly never used as far I can remember, maybe accidentally or if it was maybe on some cahllange
still I think cola nut is quite good card in general
played at launch and left after a month. so glad i did. the game is FINALLY what it was suppose to be. LFG!
The Company Tea Machine was in the Atomic Shop (as a stand alone item) about a month ago.
Obvi giving up damage for defense but maybe that's what you need if you feel you're dying too much
Friendly fire also works with flame arrows 🏹
Cannibal perk mixed with the Carnivor mutation is an extremely good combo. It does mean you can't eat plant based food, but it's extremely easy to heal up and fill hunger without tue plants
An odd perk I was using while levelling up is Good Doggy. The amount of Dog Food you find. Pair that with Carnivore mutation, albeit you gain no buffs but you gain a lot of progress to the food bar when consumed.
Learned that I was wasting a ton of INT points with my Heavy Gatling Plasma in PA build. Had all three science slotted at max ranks.
With the Vampire legendary effect, you simply need six options:
1. Ricochet
2. Good resistance for all types of damage
3. Fast fire rate
4. Solar armor set
5. Healing factor mutation
6. Ghoulish
As a railway rifle main I can confirm without the bandolier perk I weigh 600 pounds
It's a must with the spikes. Thanks for commenting!

Guys, when crafting ammo, once youre level 50, get the ammo legendary perk that lets you craft double, ammo smith perk, AND super duper perk (has chance to double ANYTHING you make, including weapons, ammo, armor, chems. Etc)
Youll make a LOT of ammo for little materials!!
friendly fire does in fact work with the EPF but only when it has a capacitor that add fire damage
I haven't seen the full vid yet but grenadier works on all explosions, it's so much fun with the grenade launcher
Hey i was just watching you 😂 getting the tadpole quest done for the backpack is killing me
Keep at it buddy! You'll get it done.

"Perk Cards You Should Be Using"

some feedback if you want your videos to be more useful instead of overwhelming to a new player like me. Narrow it down to one or two NON-bloodied builds (because no new player is going to be able to put together a bloodied build yet) a level 50 character could equip with their available perk points. Separate them thematically, as in don't alternate between combat and crafting perks or you're gonna have a listener running around with Scrapper equipped all the time like I did for a day
Thank you for the Tadpole backpack video btw.
Keeping in mind you can't have more than one type of perk card on. Only 1 Master Commando, only 1 Expert Commando, etc.
As far as I know, Tenderizer gives +10% damage to everything hitting your target, including other players, and stacks if other players have it.
If you play solo, which i understand most dont, lone wanderer is a great perk.
If u have explosive rounds make sure to put on demolitionist in int & the grenader in perception
Dodgy is another hidden gem due to the botched way it works if you're not too concerned about AP. Angry Turtle does a video about how useful it is.
Agree , if you have fast ap regen with action boy , company tea , and ap regen on the armor dodgy is a must have.
Noob here. I just blew like 8000 caps on a ton of serums from a player vendor. Poor again. Would love to see a video on how to make caps!
I have all the mutations and i just make sure to avoid decon arches or using radaway, just using Nuka Grape to keep my rads down if i need to, or just making sure that at least one armour piece had rad healing 😋
some perks are usefull when you start playing but become almost useless the higher level you become
You can grab an extra load out or 2 (store/my account has perk loadouts & extra CAMPS)… have a build for battle & another for crafting/shopping/farming, etc. so you don’t have to trade off
@@CyberTex_ yeah that's what I do for convenience I got a build for crafting and building and another for combat
(I’m lvl 60 right now)
One perk od reccomend when you hit lv 50 is ammo factory is so useful as is master trespasser for hacking
Curator would be on this list if you have enough bobbleheads and magazines.
Do i have to have Lockpick, Expert lockpick and Master in order to pick higher locks?
is that deadmau5 playing in the background? great info i need to level up more and get more perk cards i can see
The company tea can now be bought with gold boulin at the raiders guy ❤❤
I know it’s awful but I have commando, rifleman, and shotgun perks all on because I switch weapons so much xD
I need to learn about crafting legendaries or whatever so I can start to try to get a good weapon

Hi just wondering what weapon you have got using in your videos, sort of looks like the railway rifle but modded!?
On the chemist perk you forgot to mention pair it with the dupe perk in luck. Can't think of the name of it, but it has chance to double everything crafted.

I'm a new player. I just hit level 53 a few days ago. I'd like to know how often we earn perk card packs? I also need to know if it's possible to unscap perk cards? I actually got rid of some key cards on this list, not knowing what I was doing 🤦. You have a great channel
How did you hit 53 so fast??? I’ve been playing for 5 days and I’m only 26
Every 5 levels, it is on the challenges tab.
Im an old school going back to this game and im loveing it. thanks for all your info an love all your vid`s. GG
Don’t think you mentioned Sneak? Great perk.
just came back to this game after quitting on release day thanks for these videos!
I'm level 70, are the perk cards you get random? Seems like I am seeing some cards I haven't gotten in my inventory yet??
question: any weapon that is not originally an energy weapon (eg baseball bat) but with an elemental damage modifier, does that weapon become an energy weapon and therefore receives the buff from energy damage cards?
Not sure I’ll ever fully understand the perk cards. I’m not one of the (fallout is my whole life) players but I do enjoy it and am trying to get to where I can more easily kill higher level enemies, this whole 1200-2000 rounds of .50 to kill a Sheepsquatch is ridiculous. I always go out in my trusty excavator armor as well.
Nice job 👍🎉🎉🎉
