I definitely appreciate the fact you put emphasis on the fact these are your preferences. Gives people like me a good starting point for what I wanna look for on my own rolls.
Great video as always! I have grinded out 5/5 god rolls of both the fatebringer time lost and the eyasula (only 450 boss clears fml) and have crafted the austringer. Fatebringer has always been my go to kinetic hc and feels even better in the current sandbox with the changes to flinch. I feel like most players haven’t started running high resilience or adjusted to weapons that have high stability and they are still running high range rolls making the fatebringer hit like a truck.

Can’t you farm master challenge Templar when vog is the weekly raid for fatebringers?
Headstone can also be great in Trials specifically because getting a headshot kill encases the downed players ghost in the crystal, meaning that their team will either have to try and break it or just wait it out. It’s niche but can be very effective and definitely throws people off.
Doesn’t the crystal disappear by the time the timer hits 0?

@@fasthands1631 Depends on where the crystal and the rez are. If the crystal is on top of the rez, you can't revive
Also worth noting that on top of the +5 to certain stats that enhanced perks will give you, an Austringer at level 20 will gain +2 to all stats except the masterworked (intrinsic trait) stat, behaving much like an adept weapon but still without the ability to take adept mods.

The season of Opulence weapons are free (aside from the two Dungeon ones) you can get them on the Leviathan the same way as anyone else. It's the season of the Haunted weapons that are attached to the Season and are thus behind a pay wall.
It'd be kind of weird if getting opulent keys and going to an opulent chest didn't give you anything if you didn't own the season, it's an open-world free to play patrol area after all.

I think his main point is the focusing part of it. But yes they are free drops, but focusing in the crown of sorrow requires the season pass I believe
@@flaria185 it 100% does. My wife plays and doesn't have the season pass so she can't focus, but I do have the season pass and I can.
I think crafting is also locked behind the pass, which may be more his point. You can farm Austringer F2P, but you need the season pass to craft it, and to get enhanced perks for it.

Great analysis on all the weapons... i definitely consider the Timelost Fatebringer to be my personal favourite & i do have a perfect roll sitting in my vault, however, I currently have a non-crafted masterworked Austringer eqiupped on my character since like the first week of this season, & i've been really enjoying it 😢 ...shame on me
What mod is best for timelost fatebringer in pvp you think? Adept range?
@@mehra6712 i tend to run adept icarus... i'm not a jumpy boy, but sometimes there's situations where you're jumping out of danger & you try to land a few shots mid-air so it helps. & it adds +5 range also so it's amazing

Loved the video, just one small anecdote. You can get Austringer as a free-to-play, I got it as a f2p. If you grind the containment activity and get blessed to get opulent keys as rewards then use those to open chests around the leviathan map there's a chance to get a 'stringer. There are multiple levels of rng but it is possible. Otherwise, another banger vid keep up the awesome work! :)

Love your thoughts and opinions as ever. Was waiting for someone to make a video on this :) My feelings are that fatebringer with explosive eye of the storm is the best. Being able to flinch and shoot to finish players who are low behind cover + explosive allowing you to do damage at further ranges. Also it doesn’t affect fov as no rangefinder and you can use adept mods. Next I’d say is austringer then eyasluna (it has an awful stasis muzzle flash but some cool perk combinations) but it’s all preference. With the in air changes though just run ace especially if you’re a stompee hunter
With the sheer lack of deepsight I have, I must be deepblind.
So one think I noticed immediately as a free3play player - Austringer is free aswell. it's just kinda harder to grind :D

If you "hate grinding" the craftable Austringer really isn't for you unless you get incredibly lucky with RNG.
My friend, if you really despise grinding:
1) why play a looter shooter? (The main gameplay loop is grind for loot), and;
2) you can redeem a free redbox each week, so you can wait 5 weeks to get it (or less, if you manage to luck into 1-3 of them)
My first roll I got snapshot and rangefinder and honestly it's great

I hate Fatebringer because of how weird it feels for me. Tried to play with it for 1 whole month and something just felt off for me even with the best perks. Now with austringer even when I was still on the red border grind and I got an EOTS demo with trash 1 column and 2nd column perks it felt so crispy. Now I've fully crafted my dream austringer and I feel like I can't lose a duel due to it's crispiness so much more than Eyasluna
I love all 3. For me I just switch between them depending on the build and situation. Been using fatebringer since we got it back, but I think the austringer is more of my goto at the moment because I grinded so hard to craft a perfect one. However, when playing stasis I can't put down my headstone Luna. Lol.
What? Austringer IS free for anyone. Just go to the Levi and run around opening chests and praying. I've only gotten 3 so far. 1 was deepsight.

I have been maining Austringer since I've crafted it. Have a great Fatebringer and Eyasluna, but there's something with the Fatebringer recoil being weird feeling and I don't like how high up the Eyasluna's sights are from the top of the gun, though I should pull them both from the vault to do a better feel comparison rather than memory
Too right about Fartbringer. Recoil is wack and it isn’t the stat either… there was an adjustment to handcannon recoil in shadowkeep and I feel that Fatebringer missed whatever was handed out and therefore it’s wonky as hell to shoot.
Honestly, with the fact that you have to get FIVE deepsight Austringers before you can craft it, and the level of rng around it, I don't feel like there's much of a difference between grinding for Stringer or Luna right now. Plus I'm sure we can all agree it's more fun melting a boss with your friends than running chests on the leviathan solo. Not criticizing the video here, very good overview! The current deepsight farm just feels awful to me.
This is such a stupid Reddit take right now and it's really pathetic.
You can legit play once a week and get a guaranteed random red opulent weapon and also buy your choice of one, most people who farmed for it already had the austringer by week 3. You could potentially just get 5 red borders just by playing 30 mins each week over 5 weeks at the longest.
Considering you get a really good handcannon with your own 5/5 god roll with enhanced perks that's way better to me than the rng of farming for a 5/5 of a random roll.
@@javalavadingdong sure, but that means it takes 5 weeks to get the austringer. Luna can be farmed for very quickly and your God roll could be reasonably acquired over the course of a week of on and off farming at a reasonable rate.
@@javalavadingdong Wow, thanks for the insult, man. Just tried to communicate my thoughts as a player and that I feel like the grind for deepsight weapons could use some tweaking. If you're fine with the way it currently is, that's cool.
I agree that it has gotten better thanks to the upgrades at the Crown of Sorrow. And yes, if you have the right upgrades, you can go to the Crown, focus a guaranteed deepsight opulent weapon of your choice (you first each week), do the same for the next 4 weeks and then have a guaranteed craftable opulent weapon. Knowing that is very nice, yes. However, if you wanna do more than that, if you enter the Leviathan and you start looting chests for a chance to get additional red border weapons there, that part, to me personally, feels bad right now.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that, to me, there's no use in farming for a craftable Stringer. I agree with what you're saying, totally, I play my half an hour each week to do the story mission and get my guaranteed deepsight weapon. Five weeks from here, I have a guaranteed craftable weapon without any farming. Aside from that, I can keep having fun by shooting Dungeon or raid bosses and maybe get the other two handcannons :). That good?

Fatebringer (personal fav) with explosive payload is really good for punishing players who don't build into flinch resist, and even if they do, something about explosive payload feel a little "extra" accurate. I literally cannot use a fatebringer if it doesn't have explosive on it 😅

Got a very very nice roll first try with Luna. 94 stability. Been in love ever since. Before the airborne ineffectiveness changes I literally could not miss a headshot with on the ground or in air. Haven't gotten a good fatebringer roll and haven't been able to craft Austringer yet but I already doubt they'll come close to Luna for me.

Another really cool thing about Luna is that it takes shaders like almost nothing else in this game. Really dope and much different than most items in the game, when it comes to shaders. +99 cool points.
Fallout, when VOG is the weakly rotator Raid you can farm master templar for nonstop timelost drops, because all challenge modes are active.

Excellent video as always! It is worth noting that on VoG farm weeks (like last week) you can get a timelost fatebringer on every kill of master templar as long as you do the challenge. With a conpetitent team that means a TLFB every 5-7 minutes which makes it much more attainable IMO if you have a solid PvE team. That combined with gaurunteed Explosive payload, and a 2/5 chance at EotS or Opening shot makes getting a very solid timelost fatebringer fairly quick. Doesn't mean you should 100% go for it over the others, but worth considering when making you decision
My personal loadouts are the following (warning basic bitch ahead):
Ophidians build: handling doesn't matter so I go max range/stability austringer with a 100 aim assist, 100 handling far future on top dawn for the best gunplay, and most consistent shots possible. Alternatively I got with timelost found verdict since it gets to max handling with quick charge and ophidians to get the best pellet shotgun performance possible.
If I'm feeling more frisky and want to be more mobile I'll go transversives, so handling is more important. This makes me go timelost fatebringer (fluted, accurized, EP, EotS, range MW) since it has higher handling, then either beloved or a lightweight shotty for maximum movement capabilities.
To add to this. Its really easy to farm with at least 2 well locks and a divinity w/linears or grenade spam :)

I second this, I am relatively new to the game and manage to pick up over a dozen Timelost Fatebringers in 2 days of farming by only doing LFG with random. I easily got all the pvp rolls I needed, and nearly all the PvE ones. If you can find a realizable team you can easily do much better than I did. Didn't have the same luck with Eyasluna and I only got my 5 red border austringer out of sheer luck after spending more time farming than I did with Fatebringer.

The handcannon meta is the most boring, repetitive, and recycled pvp meta. Never understood why people enjoy using them aside from the sad fact that they are slightly better than any other primary option in pvp, and especially so if you use a M&K, despite their heavy usage making no logical sense in terms of realistic firearms usage... like how does a glorified revolver (which is technically a sidearm) do more damage per hit than a full sized rifle??? I know it's a highly unrealistic video game, but ffs, that's not how ballistics work at all....
You can get a free austringer actually you have the chance to get them from opulent chests on the leviathan. So if you are a free to play player looking to bang out with austringer go the the leviathan farm some opulent keys and pray for red borders. (Note this process is EXTREMELY harmful to your sanity, and takes FOREVER)
fatebringer is the best HC for pve too. no any HC come even close to it in pve. and being able to switch from firefly to eye of the storm for pvp
is godly . and for pvp i would still pick it over austringer just because of explosive round. you get insane range and it is just impossible to miss your shot with explosive.
I have an Unrelenting Headstone Eyasluna for pve. In the times that I run stasis in pve, it's very helpful. The crystal shatter procs unrelenting when it kills enemies.

Something you didn't mention about Eyasluna: Headstone is amazing in Trials specifically. The crystal completely prevents the ghost from being revived unless it's destroyed, making it so much harder for enemies to revive

The crystal lasts the same duration as the revive lockout. It's not doing what you think it's doing.

I know this is more pvp centered, but from a pve stand point, I recently started messing around with an Osmosis/Firefly fatebringer on a Solar 3.0 warlock. Makes things a bit interesting running it with a claws double snap build my friend helped me set up, taking solar weapon empowerment and radiant to do a bit more damage
I use an Osmosis/Kill Clip Fatebringer with my Solar 3.0 build. When I get Radiant/CWL/Font going then activate KC the thing just shreds, it's around 240% buffed at that point.

The very first roll I got was Osmosis Firefly so I stuck it in the vault as a momento and goddamn it got some serious use when Void 3.0 came out. It's not a top tier perk but being able to use Fatebringer for elemental wells/shields/etc is a lot of fun. Only problem is I find it is inconsistent in proc-ing Rays of Precision ignitions in Solar 3.0.
Osmosis is so good for any Warlock Stasis/Void/Solar build. I have my timelost fatebringer with Osmosis and it's nuts
@@Nailfut It's funny because honestly I didn't put a lot of stock in the perk when it first came out. I'm really glad I kept my fatebringer with it since it's so good now. They didn't change the perk but the sandbox now just makes it worth its weight in gold.
Hey fallout, how do I get my friends to realize you don’t need best in slot to use a gun? Literally getting burned out and deleting guns cause it isn’t absolutely perfect. Maybe I’m just a dad Andy now but the guns feel fine without best in slot to me.
I love Fatebringer. I love Eyasluna. Both will forever hold special places in my heart thanks to being a D1 nerd, but Austringer being craftable easily makes it my favorite. Just wish it took shaders better, and its more common ornament wasnt so beaten up

I personally love all three! Timelost Fatebringer with the huge adep mod stability boost whilst dishing out the flinch is going under the radar atm, fortunately!

Rn I'm rocking harmony perpetual motion with a range masterwork on my Luna paired with main ingredient
As someone with over 50,000 kills on hand cannons, they are just NOT the choice this season. They suffer the most from classy restoration/lorelays because of the cadence with which they deal damage. Not to mention the in air changes hit them the hardest as they need crits and also had the most in air potential previously. Using them you will either get laned by a pulse or pushed with an SMG, in both cases putting you at a disadvantage. They may be the highest kills in trials still but if you break it down by % of kills by usage they are actually extremely low. Tons of people using them but getting hardly any kills each. I highly recommend trying out a pulse or smg with a fusion this season if you are someone who is typically a hand cannon/shotty guy like myself.

@@BuckkettsAS The best weapon primary weapon in the game right now, for trials atleast, IMO is No time to explain, I’d pair it with main ingredient or if you have a really good found verdict you could try that, but pellet shotties are super inconsistent now. Lord of wolves is also super strong right now and you can pair that with piece of mind for pulse, or multimach for SMG. Because of the stability + zoom changes the best SMG now is funnelweb because it has rangefinder, which adds zoom and also doesn’t cost stability like iron reach, you can pair that with chaperone, or even double primary it with No time. Shayuras is also still really good. Even though classy restoration is the popular choice, by FAR the best build in the game right now is invis using omnioculus. You pair it with Lord of Wolves or Chaperone and you will basically be unstoppable in trials unless you go up against someone else using the same build. For trials also if ur on controller Lorentz is insane and still one of the strongest weapons in the game despite the aim assist nerfs. If you run high resil and unflinching it’s almost impossible to miss. This is all extremely cheesy and not really that fun of ways to play but if you just want to win these are what I recommend for this season or until Bungie does a badly needed patch and nerfs some of this abusive stuff.

I dont have perfect roll, but on paper it should be the best hc in the game. Simply because eye of the strom and explosive payload. In reality, it depends it you dont might those horrible sights.

Cantata is better, imo. Suros Synergy is goat intrinsic
while it does make sense on paper that luna would be the longest farm for a god roll because of not being craftable and not being able to be purchased with spoils, GoS final boss is incredibly fast and you can do it in less than 2 or 3 minutes depending on how cracked you are. Imo it's actually the easiest and fastest to farm.

I love my austringer, I use smallbore, ricochet, eots, and rangefinder. While there technically is RNG to it, I felt that grind to crafting it better because it is almost guaranteed

I love my crafted Austringer (enh snapshot + enh rangefinder + 91 stability) but I also really want a rangefinder/headstone or rangefinder/harmony 'luna, just for the unique options it presents. Good analysis!

I have unrelenting + headstone for gms pve when it’s HC. Paired with stasis & your just chaining shards non stop.

My personal luna has outlaw, kill clip, and high cal. Love that thing. Do the same with my br, outlaw kill clip is god tier in my experience. Is it perfect, of course not, but zipping around on my hunter or slamming the hammer on my titan feels real nice when I can pop and reload in the blink of an eye.

Austringer gifts headshots like no other 140 I've ever used. I'm normally a pulse person and have used luna and fatebringer, but austringer just hits the head every time. Don't know why it feels so different to me, but it does, even when I was just leveling it with a snapshot/zen roll before applying the true gifter of headshots that is eye of the storm.
I've got one of those 10/10 Timelost Fatebringer rolls just chilling in the vault that has the best perks from the other 2... Explosive Payload (obviously) or Killing Wind and Eye of the Storm w small bore, accurized rds, and stability MW (gets 84 stability or 76 range w adept mods)
I prefer Austringer because you can get a high stability, 31+ range roll. With 8 resil your weapon doesn't move from incoming fire. I think CoolGuy did a video on it.
Fatebringer, it has firefly and I like making things go boom.
So, pairing it with a reservoir burst fusion, e.g. Plug One.1, and a chain reaction heavy, e.g. Sola's Scar, is mad fun. Especially when topped off with a subclass that has extra boom to it, like old bottom tree dawnblade or the right fragments for void and solar now.
Solid points on all - thank ya sir. I'll have my last red border for Austringer with today's reset, so i can begin crafting this week. That said tho, my RNG is usually terrible, but I've been blessed with a Timelost Fate with explosive payload/frenzy, and my only ever Eyasluna drop is headstone/unrelenting (rock solid stability on both). My favorite is my workhorse Fatebringer for both pve and pvp. We'll see if crafting Stringer now changes my mind.
I got a High if not God roll Eyasluna on my first run of GoA and decided I was happier just using it than grinding. Absolutely no regrets, love the damn thing.
Luna is easily my go to a Head Stone build for Stasis is a good option, and I personally am okay with grinding out a Luna since I prefer some of the perks on Luna better
My old Austringer has been in my vault since the Menagerie days, I was happy to finally get a new one today after 8 mini tools in a row from the chests.
Out of the three, I think I prefer Eyasluna a little bit more over Austringer, with Fatebringer coming in last, but this could also be because my Fatebringer roll isn't the greatest. Just doesn't feel as snappy as the others. But I will say, with all three of these hand cannons being great, one that wasn't mentioned at all that I think at least deserves an honorable mentioned is D.F.A. now that it's back as a Nightfall drop and has an Adept version coming soon. I got a Perpetual Motion, Opening Shot drop and to me, it feels so much smoother than the three mentioned in the video. I think D.F.A's only downside is the fact that the second column doesn't really roll with any PVP meta ammo/mag types like Ricochet/Armor Piercing/etc , but even then you have access to Alloy Mag and Flared Magwell which aren't the worst possible things. Either way, great video and analysis as always. I love the content and love hearing/reading other people's thoughts
Back when, I went with Eyasluna. When it came back into the game I had to have it. Only one I've ever had drop. Armour Piercing, Rapid Hit and Kill Clip. I love this gun. Austringer is great too, I've yet to get a 5th to make my own, but im rocking Outlaw Rampage on it. I've never had a Fatebringer, Timelost or otherwise. Never can get a group for raids on pc. I was on console right up to Beyond Light and because of that my hours are lower, but pc players I get on lfg don't care, don't wanna know. Too many times booted from fireteam because lower hours.
I really do love all 3 handcannons and each of them I use differently, but if I had to pick one it has to be eyasluna. Eyaslina truesight, ricochet, rangefinder, range mw, and most importantly HEADSTONE. Headstone has been the big factor for trials for me since if you get that headshot kill the ghost is INSIDE the crystal and can't be revived unless you break the crystal which is really advantageous in trials in stalling.
Im kinda supprised HCS are still ahead of Pulse rifle uses in PvP.
Like after the AE nerf you would assume there is no more advantage to have using HCS other than *slightly* better peak-shooting ability.

Austringer just feels so good. Just crafted one with enhanced Eye of the Storm and Rangefinder. Been using it all weekend.
I've been delving a bit more into HC's lately in PvP, and (while I don't have Austringer unlocked yet) I personally prefer my Eyasluna. With Ricochet Rounds, Rangefinder and Moving Target, I feel like my gun does almost all the work on it's own.
Even if it was the worst of them all, I'd vote Austringer because I can craft it. No RNG after getting the red borders. Done.
i got a very nice eyasluna roll a while back and it dropped with highcal/ricochet outlaw killclip. for some reason it let me put adept icarus grip on it. may have to pull it back out with the stability buff
I run crafted Austringer HF, Ricochet Rounds, (E)EotS, (E)RF range MW... I pair with a Fugue-55 (Fluted, Accurized, No Distractions, Snapshot, Handling MW) and Solar 3.0 hunter with 6 shot goldie, prox knife w/ calibans hand. There is no synergy, but it doesn't need it lol, I have a 5/5 FB (timelost), Eyasluna, AND Palindrome and my Austringer just blows them all out of the water.
Ok here we go *cracks knuckles and neck* OK so for me Austringer is hands down the best. Now its actually NOT becuase its craftable (although MASSIVE bonus points) when choosing the best hand cannon for me it comes down to ONE and ONE thing only…..the sights…now u may be wondering what u mean they all have great sights? WRONG …well for me at least….Austringer’s sight is just like palindrome and dire (among other hc’s) that the “fastdraw” iron sight sits perfectly flush with the top of the gun. This is VERY IMPORTANT for follow up shots and being able to see where to put ur next shot. Eyesluna makes me so angry cuz the sight is the “fastdraw” my personal FAVORITE hc sight BUUUTTTT if u look closely Eyesluna’s sight has a HUGE empty space underneath it before the barrel is reached THUS yes u can see more kinda BUT estimating where it will be EXACTLY is so damn hard especially while under flinch and what have u. The best part is I tested this to see it it actually was higher up and nope same mid point on the screen so its not actually changing where the reticle is just makes it a visual mind fuck. Again for me personallyI HATE THIS. Now the fatebringer…..it IS flush with the barrel…good… BUUUTTTT its iron sight is the “steadyhand” which has dumb inverted sideways triangles so for explosive payload play style this actually may be a benefit due to the wider sight but for precise aiming since the wide part of the triangle is right next to the red dot, its just making it more vague as to where ur shot is going EXACTLY. That combined with that damn flashlight on the side like GET OUT OF MY FACE PLZ LOL. This is y pali, dire(I don’t have one anymore rip) , Austringer, and some other hc’s for me I’ll only look at those despite amazing stats and perks. If you cant aim the gun IT DOES NOT MATTER how good it is. My main loadout right now is Austringer (fully crafted extended barrel, range Mw, richochet rounds, eye of storm, zen moment (both enhanced of course) with my full crafted likely suspect (I think u can guess my roll lol) with calibans hand on blade barrage or deadshot goldy both so damn fun. Also y do ppl keep dissing zen moment? Its literally as good if not better than rapid hit like it SUCCCCCCCSSS ur reticle down right back on target like u BARLEY have to pull the thumb stic down INSANE CONSISTENCY. Do no overlook for controller, at least , like HUGE perk. Kinda wanna see this on more hc’s now. Cuz u don’t have to hit crits literally ANY shot so for me better than rapid hit for the recoil at least. *drops mic, leaves with door open* lol
For me, as a Stasis PVE Hunter who dabbles in PVP, I definitely prefer the Eyasluna cause it is easier for me to build into. Aside from that Rapid Hit feels, like, really really good in my hands.
This ain't a perfect roll by any means, but honestly one I use both in and out of PVP.
Eyasluna: Hitmark/Fastdraw HCS, Appended/Alloy Mag, Rapid Hit, Headstone, Reload Masterwork.
Currently Paired with the Chain of Command MG and Coldheart in PVE, Jotunn/Lorentz in PVP.
For the exotic armor I run Renewal Grasps for obvious reasons.
For Revenant: Duskfield Nades, Touch of Winter, Grim Harvest, Whispers of Chains, Rending, Durance, Fissures, and Shards.
Definitely more PVE in my eyes but it is still a lot of fun to just go and hit the stop button on guardians as fast as humanly possible.
I have a fairly disgusting Eyasluna (Hitmark/High Cal/RF/Kill Clip/Range MW). I'm still using both Eyasluna and Austringer, though. I like them both a lot, and it really just depends on what I'm feeling like day to day. Eyasluna, as you said, is going to have more peak potential versus the consistency of Austringer (EotS/RF). This season I've been using them with an SMG in the energy slot (Shayura's, my 84 Range Hero's Burden, or my Dynamic Sway/Tap the Trigger Seraph Rounds Ikelos), though I do still break out a Seventh Seraph Shotgun from time to time. I have also played around with Drang, and do like it as an option for my close-range weapon. I'm using either Lucky Pants or Wormhusk as my exotic armor, again depending on how I feel. Nothing really interesting about the build.
The truth is, I find myself just wanting to use Piece of Mind more often than the hand cannons with airborne ineffectiveness where it's at right now.
I still have my “god roll” Kindled Orchid that I enjoy breaking out for quick play
I use Eyasluna (Truesight/Ricochet/Rangefinder//Kill Clip/Range MW/Targeting Adjuster), with Duality, and an Eager Edge sword (or a rocket launder, depending on my mood)
For PvE, thats where i would use my Rapid Hit/Headstone Eyasluna with s stasis buils, or an Explosive Playload/Firefly Fatebringer
I prefer Eyasluna. Feels crispy, looks clean. I have Steadyhand, High Cal or Ricochet, Rangefinder, and Moving Target. With the in air changes I slapped on a targeting adjuster and it has 100 AA. This makes it easy for me to make sure I’m running a great stat distribution for the nuke-knives exotic gauntlets while using sniper mods (especially targeting since I’m console pleb) for my QD+Snap beloved.
As soon as you said let’s talk about hand cannons, you lost me. Can we have a legendary sidearm video? And In addition, not only are you all using only 140 HC, you also are all using the same EXACT SAME ROLL on austringer, what was the point of adding back random rolls year 2, and crafting in year 5…just to play it like year one with copy+paste austingers? COPYPASTRINGER?!
I have a cracked God Roll Luna, that's even had the Adept mod glitch with adept range. 86 range with Perpetual Motion, Moving Target. It's absolutely insane and one of my favorite HC I've ever got.
But my Austringer is still my favorite. Don't know why, just feels so good. It's already over level 30 and I've loved every minute of it.
Timelost Fatebringer is still my "favorite looking" though due to how iconic and beautiful it is. I've never got a God Roll however. Always 4/5. But it's still so much fun to play with.
I have a 4 out of 5 Luna and simply for the fact it has moving target makes it the best for me
I got a Eyasluna with Hitmark, Ricochet, Perpetual Motion, and Moving Target with a Range masterwork that’s been my top HC. I haven’t been fortunate enough to get a god roll Pali, Cantata, or Fatebringer and have yet to do the work for Austringer, but 10/10 for Eyasluna. It feels too good. Usually pair it with a shotgun (Lightweight Frame) but have occasionally paired it with a 1,000 yard stare for long maps.
I'm running a Seventh Sereph hand cannon. Got a one in Dares of Eternity and used it for nostalgia, but after a 5-piece in Crucible, it's my go-to PvP hand cannon. Otherwise it's Bottom Dollar, which I got a great PvE roll on. (And yes, if you were wondering, I DO use Last Word with Lucky Pants. Carried me through to where I am today, which gives them a permanent slot on my Hunter.)
I own all 3. A 4/5 Fate, 5/5 Stringer, and a crafted austringer. Here is my ranking.
1: Fatebringer / Stringer
I prefer explosive payload due to the extra flinch and bonus to damage. (15% body, 5% head) plus eye of the storm is goated.
Stringer is bussin bussin. Rangefinder enhanced goes hard
Luna isn’t worth it
Personally I still prefer the Fatebringer. I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like when weapons have explosive/timed payload, they get more aim assist. Add that with EoTS, the gun basically just aims for you like a bow. Fatebringer also has the highest 3-tap range and a hilariously long 4-tap range thanks to explosive payload. Also, ofc, explosive payload offering the utility of stopping regen of players hiding behind cover. Also stops heavy pickup and res. It is also the only one that can get 100 base stability, whereas Eyasluna needs PM*2 to do it and Austringer just can't do it at all (not that there's much difference between 94 and 100 stability, but still)
Basically all I said boils down to the same thing. Fatebringer still best cuz explosive payload is too good.
Free to Play (F2P) player here, the Austringer is technically available to Free to Play players, however the only source that is available to said players are from the Opulent Chests in the Leviathan. This does also include 3 other Opulent weapons: Beloved, Drang (Baroque) and CALUS Mini-Tool, and the other 2 Opulent weapons being available only from the Duality dungeon: Fixed Odds and The Epicurean. The only other downside besides having to rely on RN-Jesus to get the exact weapon that you want, AND for it to be a Deepsight Variant, is that even after you get the required amount of Deepsight Weapons in order to craft them, there is no duplicate protection, meaning that even after you've unlocked the blueprint for the Austringer but you want to farm for a different weapon, you can still get Deepsight Variant of the Austringer. Pure RNG pain.

I run Luna (Truesight, Ricochet, Rangefinder, and Moving Target) with my Jotunn, and its been an absolute blast this season!
My current best handcannons are a DFA with Triple Tap and Timed Payload, a Fatebringer with Exosive Payload and Opening Shot, and a Survivor's Epitaph with Outlaw and Kill Clip.
