The Chinese actress who plays the main bad girl role, she's Zhang Ziyi. She is absolutely an incredible martial artist, and superb actress! You should definitely check her out in "Crouching Tiger / Hidden Dragon", and also, "House of Flying Daggers". The latter film is visually stunning, btw.

I love Ziyi Zhang (Hu Li) in this movie. She plays a villain so well, rocks a red lipstick, and makes a great femme fatale. She was also great in Godzilla: King Of The Monsters as Dr. Ilene Chen and Ling Chen.
One of my favorite comedic parts:
Carter: Just tell me how the Triads gon' kill us.
Lee: They will torture us for three days.
    Carter: I can handle that.
Lee: Then they will cut off our eggrolls.
Carter: Cut off our eggrolls?! Hell no!! Let's get the hell outta here!!
Side note: Michael Jackson watched this movie around the time he was planning out his short film for the song "You Rock My World" and contacted Chris Tucker for a guest starring role. Chris stated in his intro during Michael's 30th anniversary concert at Madison Square Garden in 2001 that Michael told him "I've seen your movie Rush Hour 2, you're kickin' with the wrong leg".

"Shanghai Noon" (2000) and "Shanghai Knights" (2003" has Jackie Chan teamed up with Owen Wilson, with Chan a Chinese imperial guard going to the American wild west to rescue Princess Pei (Lucy Liu), ending up with drifter cowboy thief Owen Wilson as a partner in the quest. More action and comedy but in an Owen Wilson softer tone. You'll approve.

49:42 How many times did Jackie get hurt in his movies? In Hollywood, only a few due to insurance policies limiting what he's allowed to do. In Hong Kong, he has broken almost every bone in his body. To this day, he has a hole in his skull from a near-death injury back in the mid-80s. You guys mentioned the fights in The Matrix as well, which is no coincidence since they were choreographed by Yuen Woo-ping, who was also a filmmaker in HK. Jackie's fight scenes in his non-Hollywood movies are much more complex due to having greater creative control. I say you should react to "Who Am I", which came out the same year as RH1.

The ship in the opening credits was a hydrofoil. It has a wing under the hull and as the ship gains speed, it lifts the hull out of the water to reduce drag. Two movies to consider for this channel is Chris Tucker with Bruce Willis in the Fifth Element. Chris Tucker's character Ruby Rhod was offered to Prince, who turned down the roll. A Jackie Chan movie to watch is The Medallion. Incredible action and Jackie Chan comedy.

From interviews from both actors about each other, it seems like it’s more of a money motivated relationship, with Jackie being the staunch professional. Not surprising with how focused Jackie’s gotta be for all the stunts, he’s not the biggest for English dialogue in movies, let alone comedy, English dialogue. Dude also learned most of his lines phonetically, and had a really hard time communicating with Chris specifically because of how quickly he talks

This was a hilarious one guys; A number of people would choose this one over the first and I do agree. The girl in the car was Maggie Q, she's done films as well. Jackie and Chris (especially the words that came out of his mouth) were spot on. Welcome to Hong Kong. You can watch the third one if you wish, it's my least favorite of the trilogy. I do suggest Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights, another buddy comedy action flick with Jackie and Owen Wilson. For more Ziyi Zhang, I suggest House Of Flying Daggers. Also, Curse Of The Golden Flower, Legend Of The Drunken Master, Young Master, The Postman Strikes Back, Knockabout, Snake In The Eagle's Shadow, A Better Tomorrow, City On Fire, The Killer, Hard Boiled, Fearless, Hero, Fist Of Legend, Once Upon A Time In China, Twin Warriors, Twin Dragons, The Prodigal Son, Project A, Warriors Two, The Magnificent Butcher, Eastern Condors. Some martial arts films to consider in the future on Patreon. Nice reaction!

This film is a crossroads for a lot of actors of the era.
The "Crazy bomb girl" is Zhang Ziyi. This was her second major film, after her debut in "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon"
The guy from the clothing store is Jeremy Piven, who is a great comedic actor. You should check out "PCU" which is one of my favorite films he's starred in.
The villain is John Lone, who was great in the 90s film "The Shadow," based on the classic pulp-era superhero.

When the boat reaches a certain speed it will rise up outa the water and use the foil to stay up, it reduces drag and therefore fuel consumption. Imagine that blade on the end of a surfboard. As well as being a first rate martial artist Jackie Chan is a first class stuntman who with his trusted teams has invented some of the best fight stunts ever committed to film. As you guys have seen he invents some incredible routines and can use anything as a weapon.

4:29 that kick cracks me up even more now that I know Michael Jackson would call Chris Tucker every time he saw him do it, and tell him to stop kicking with the wrong leg...

"The Tuxedo" should be your next movie. Y'all seem to like the American made JC movies. The foreign movies he made has a lot more hardcore stunts. He's broken bones and shit to entertain you.

Bamboo is very strong, lightweight, flexible, is used in nearly unlimited ways and grows quickly. Such a versatile grass. The far East has had thousands of years to hone and perfect its uses.

I always wanted to see more of John Lone who plays Ricky Tan. He’s so beautiful. He played the title character in Madame Butterfly with Jeremy Irons.
Also another vote here for Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon.

Shanghai Noon and it's sequel Shanghai Knights are other fun and funny Jackie Chan movies this time with Owen Wilson. They're very similar to the Rush Hour series but in a western. Think Rush Hour meets Dances With Wolves meets Charlie Chaplin.
