  • Here is a quick walk around of our new Ranger Crew 1000. If you’re in the market watch the video for some things to look out for. My opinion is this new Ranger needs some better quality for the price they’re asking. This is the first Polaris I have owned that is made in Mexico.

    Loving my 2021 1000 Premium. My bike had none of the issues you mention. Sorry to hear of your issues. I agree with the comments on your dealer. The dealer should go over the bike THOROUGHLY before delivery. Makes no difference of what is assembled at the factory and what isn't.
    For what it's worth, I'm on my 3rd Polaris product. 2 four wheelers and now a Ranger. I have no complaints and all have been very reliable and trouble free.

      Great! I consider most of the things I mentioned more of an annoyance than anything. Most should have been caught at the dealership. Overall I am very happy with this machine. It’s now been through a cold new england winter with zero issues. No regrets at all.

    I just bought one of these,thanks for the heads up, was a cancelled order so snagged it up. I do really appreciate your video and will really look over these areas. I too believe that the buck stops at the dealership as they should be QC'ing it before the customer takes it home. I'm a helicopter Mechanic and if my work isnt looked over by me or my pilot shit happens. I can imagine being close to **egypt when your wheel falls off or Shit Happens. Not Good. Thanks

    When these machines are shipped to dealers, there is a lot of assembly required. Sounds more like a bad dealership. Sounds like they rushed you into a purchase which is another sign of a bad dealership. I could be wrong but you shouldn't ever feel forced into anything from a dealer, that's always a sign to walk away.

    • @dinir1191
      @dinir1191  3 роки тому +1

      The dealer claimed there was not much assembly on their end. He said they mainly install the tires, the top portion of the roll bar, and fill fluids. Either way the dealer should have caught the problems and fixed them. I was not pressured or rushed by the dealership. The lack of inventory and long wait times did give me a sense of urgency. Overall I am happy with the Ranger. I am very familiar with Polaris, and it was exactly what we wanted. I was just disappointed with the lack of attention to detail at the high price point. I was even missing a rivet in one of the front CV boot protectors.... Thanks for the reply

    I’m looking at an identical unit. Mine will be used for utility, so the lower end torque is attractive. Do you ever wish you’d gotten XP?

    • @dinir1191
      @dinir1191  3 роки тому +1

      I have no regrets with this machine. It’s primarily used in low gear for trail riding and utility. If I recall correctly the 1000 produces a similar amount of torque at lower RPMs than the 1000xp. The 1000 never wants for power. It’s just smooth, constant, and, predictable. The only benefit I would have enjoyed from the XP would be slightly more ground clearance and bigger tires. I already fixed that with a 2.5” lift. Thanks for reaching out

  • @mossman381

    You were really being picky about most of those things. The skid plate is unacceptable, but the rest is easily fixed. That really is the economy Ranger. The 1000XP is the premium Ranger. I know $18k seems like a lot of money but all you get for that kind of money is a used car or truck with a lot of miles and you would most likely have small things wrong with it. These are UTVs not cars. People expect automotive quality and that isn't what you get. That being said I love my Polaris Rangers. I have two of them now. One old 500 6x6 and a 900XP. Looking at maybe getting a new 1000xp crew. Not sure though.

    I was wondering, can you do me a giant favor? I asked the salesman and he isn’t giving me much help on this (probably cuz he knows he made the sale already), would you by any chance be able to measure for me the distance from the very front to the back of the back wheel?? The specs say it’s 152” long overall, but I’m wondering if I back it on my 12’ trailer if the bed overhangs and I butt the wheels up as far as possible if it’ll fit. My gut says it will. I have to imagine that bed overhangs more than 6”. I know that’s asking a huge favor, but man I’d really appreciate it. Going to pick it up next Tuesday and I’m trying to make sure my trailer will work.

    I just got a call from my dealership saying they received my XP 1000 and they were trying to install all the options I added but when they were installing the tilt Windshield they noticed a 1/2" gap in one side of the A post.. they tried a different Windshield and it was the same. After some investigation they figure out that the Frame is bow and it will have to be replace. They only noticed because I added that specific Windshield. Brand new unit with bad frame. 👎

    Which manufactures offer the best in class quality across all ATV? - is Polaris generally known for quality. I am in the market for one and will pay a premium for quality.

    • @dinir1191
      @dinir1191  3 роки тому

      I think it comes down to brand preference. Most of the major brands are most likely reliable. In my opinion Polaris is the best in the market. I believe this because the prostar engines are extremely reliable, Polaris generally has highest in class clearance, the suspension gives a smooth ride, they are the originators of the CVT belt transmission and have them perfected. I also think they have the best all wheel drive system. It engages immediately when needed and all 4 wheels spin. No diff lock needed. One draw back to the all wheel drive system (on machines without hill decent feature) is that the rear wheels are only used to slow the machine while using the engine brake. This can cause the machine to get a little squirrelly going down steep or slick hills. That does not matter to me. Again, this is only my opinion. It is based on owning several polaris atv/utv, hondas, yamahas, and suzukis. Good luck with your search.

      If you don’t mind forgoing the great aesthetics, add on features, customization options and performance for the Polaris and Can-Am side by sides then go with Honda or Yamaha for reliability. Polaris Ranger or Can-Am Defender otherwise, down to preference. Their premium models come with everything you could ever want for a luxury side by side

    Wondering if u could help my wife and I make are decision between the 570 crew or the 1000 crew, not XP. Is the 1000 that much faster than the 570? She’s concerned about going up town and not being able to have higher sustained speeds with the 570, where the 1000 I would think u could go the same speed without it working as hard. We have a family of 4, which includes 2 kids that are only getting bigger. Would the 570 start bogging down u think? Thanks!

      I’m sorry for a delayed response. I spent time going back and forth between the 570 and the 1000. I believe that Polaris probably has the clutching dialed in enough on the 570 to make it functional. the 1000 has plenty of power, but it’s certainly not over powered. These Rangers are close to 2000 lbs and loaded with people way over that. Either way use low when it’s appropriate and enjoy the ride.
