Maybe if the cameras weren't full of mud you'd have a better picture but I will agree on the rear camera placement. Should of been mounted up high on the back of the cab or right by the tailgate latch like on trucks/suvs Think they were thinking it was more of an assist to backing up to a trailer to hookup vs a full rear view. If you really think about it though back of the machine is only a 3-4ft behind ya. Turn around!!!! If you have a crewcab that's a different story.
On my 900 I ran 55mph with the windshield tipped out never had an issue. The review mirror try and flip the bracket so it drops the mirror down. I did it on my 900 and it made visibility 100% better.
My wife has a 2019 Ranger 1000 XP and she loves it. No doors but she does have the same windshield as yours. Not sure why you would think you could drive "at speed" with it in the up position. We drive up to 20 mph or so with it up with no issues and we were also surprised at the air flow when it is in the vent position. It could be that the cab does not allow much air in. I put in $30 dollars worth of LED replacement bulbs for lights and have 2 light bars on it and boy does it put out light. Now the seat, this is a work machine that we get in and out of it A BUNCH. side bolstering would be a terrible thing for us. They fold up and the driver seat folds down for storage. It also holds 3 people. It is perfect for what it was designed for and we like it. LOTS and LOTS of storage space. We use it every day and do not think there is a better one out there. Remember it is a work machine. Sounds like you should have gotten the General.
thank you so much for making a honest video like this, i'm looking at getting a side by side here in about a month and dont want a race machine so i've been leaning towards the ranger
Totally agree with your comments, particularly the flip up screen - it adds nothing other than a large bill. You should consider a General next time - it has really good seats compared to a ranger. You loose a little cargo space, but you get a load of extra cab space. If you mount your rear view mirror on the bottom of the wiper motor, it improves the view out the back too. I reckon the intention of the rear camera was more for reversing up to a trailer or parking, more than as a rear view mirror? There are several after market dual cameras which give a high & low view out the back. If you go for CCD rather than CMOS camera, the quality is better - as well as higher resolution. I just wired my own camera into the screen.
Superb honest review of the Ranger. 👍 Thank you. Though, please keep it mind that you spent more in accessories for that toy of yours that a great deal of your viewers’ vehicles are worth.
I have had a 2019 Northstar for 1.5 years, no issues so far. At this point in my old Defender HD10 cab I had replaced the front differential and a rear axle plus the cab leaked like a beast, freeze to death in the winter with heater full blast. I prefer Northstar at this point by far and its better optioned.
@@MrBlackgsxr750 works well, if you were to store it out in the sun and then try to cool it it might take a while but I store it indoors so it doesn't usually get heat soaked.
The windshield will stay up, drive mine 45 mph and it’s stay straight up no wiggle. Mirror can be lower down 2” and you’ll have full view behind you. And I 100% agree with you, roll down windows are way better.
Rear camera isn’t for driving in reverse. Look over your shoulder. It’s for backing into tight spaces and covers the view you can’t get by looking behind you through rear. So it does exactly what it’s designed for. In all fairness.
Hate it this happened to you,,,, just nice to know im NOT THE ONLY ONE! we own same ride, 2020 xp 1000 crew, same color, same year. we got the full vinyl doors with clear bottom window and top zippered window. i installed them myself,,,, first time ever owning a SUV,driver door flew open. I took it to dealer, they installed driver door for me,, it still flew open.. Doors for these rides suck! unless maybe you get the 4000 hard doors!
Recently purchased a new 2019 Polaris Ranger Northstar Edition reg cab and mostly love it but it hasn't been without problems. From day one I had starting problems (bad brake light switch). Then, with less than 300 miles my shocks started leaking oil. All four are leaking at 400 miles. Only option to me is to upgrade, $1500 ouch. I ate the brake light switch also, I hate dealers touching my stuff. I agree these should have LED headlights. I changed mine immediately. Didn't want the ride command or cameras so no issue for me. I find the seats surprisingly comfortable after several hours of riding but that is just me. They are as ugly as a bench seat though. Love the AC, power switch options and speed for this little devil.
I just picked up a 20' Northstar Ultimate. I dont usually buy an extended warranty with my toys but with these options on my machine (A/C, Ride Command, power windows, etc) I bought the Polaris 5yr warranty ($1000) if I have to use this warranty once on any of those things or anything for that matter it will pay for itself. Especially for how much the machines cost. After all people have to realize these are Utility machines so tip out window is nice for just roaming around your property or just a wide open window when sitting still, not for doing 70mph down trail.
On the Rear view mirror, the one the dealer put in mine has it extension on the back of it to make it lower so that you can see under that lip just a tip you might try finding one like that for yours, but I can see behind me just fine
I purchased a polaris northstar for my family to use in arizona. The air-conditioning does not work in hot areas. I made a video of polaris ripping my family off.
@Backfire, I'm curious to know did the dealer install the doors? If so they did not do the proper adjustment for the striker plate to catch properly! secondly I know that where your windows broke that area seems to be a bit flimsy as it is help with cheap rivets instead of a nut and bolt combo! Which that was put together at time of installation!!! BTW the back flap windows does open fully, there is a release lever on the back lock assembly which clips off and folds onto the front flap thats what that black plastic knob does which some might find useless like why its there? I also think the door check bungee should be stronger and a bit shorter to reduce motion, even something like a tie down strap! The stationary Lock & Ride Full Glass Windshield - Clear tem # 2889030 is a solid choice and your current wiper assembly should be a transferable fit!
I also have same setup the same doors , ride command and heater . I have not had the same problem as you as door swinging out while driving. Maybe your not adjusted right? I don’t like the doors because can’t open a window to talk with friends i have to open whole door to talk with anyone outside comfortably. I don’t have the tip out glass I have the vented poly and am happy with it so far. Camera at back should be able to rotate so you can see more I agree it’s setup to hook up to something I find seats comfortable myself
Yeah I had my passenger door open up on me for no reason as well. I have to keep a bungee cord on it now to keep it from happening again. I have only had that Camara help me out a couple times in the woods. But I replaced it with a much better one. In color. Lol
The door issue is probably the fact it is not properly aligned the vent windows i agree with a pain they should have never put them on an off-road vehicle do to the fact you come accross branches over the trail and they chatch and pull your window and break the hinge or window itself they should just be manual crank down or option of power i have the 2017 polaris ranger 900xp and im told i can't put the doors with the crank down style window which sucks
@Backfire ,I got the same doors on my 2021 Ranger 1000 Premium, I agree with the mirror situation, from what ive heard about the north star style doors, yes you can add a one bolt mirror.. At the inside corner towards the windshield there is a circular rubber plug, Pull it out and drill hole then bolt mirror, simple! A Seizmik Folding UTV Side Mirrors (1.5" Clamp) 18081 B01FMYZHTC will be ideal for the NorthStar style doors, put aside the 1.5 clamp on each mirror and fit the bolt with either headed for allen, torx or phillips head then cover the hole! I think those doors are worth spending a bit more than the clear doors!
I added washers to the bottom of the backrest to tip it out a little bit. It's helps somewhat. Question, I have half doors. Do you think the heater would put out enough heat to make a difference? I know I'll lose the heat at speed, but thought it might warm us up while sitting still. Your thoughts?
I have a General with half doors - and yes, the heater makes a big difference! If your toes are warm, the rest of you feels warmer (I think!). I wish the heater heated up a bit faster though - it takes an age to get warm. I've been considering a Webasto fuel burning heater to get it up to temperature faster - or maybe just a Webasto blown-air heater which will give out more than you need.
Accessories are so over priced! I currently own 3 Polaris atvs . A 2021 Ranger 2021 EPS , 2018 Ranger EV and a 2021 Sportsman 570. I bought them all with out accessories from dealer and bought after market wind shiels, roofs, racks and winches. Even after market accessories are way over priced IMO but still a hell of a lot cheaper than from the dealer.
Can you share the windshield part number? Assuming it's a Polaris part. I like that it has a full sweep and have read mixed reviews about different Polaris wipers.
If your going to add all those aftermarket add ons you should of purchased a Ultimate. Only your camera complaint would be almost valid. Wash the rear camera before taking another video.
Polaris has become like John Deere. You're no longer paying for high quality, affordable products that the average man can buy. You're paying over half of the cost just for the name. *To elaborate, I'm not criticizing you for buying a Polaris; nor claiming they're bad. But it's incredibly frustrating when the markup is 50% or more just because of the name.
Dude, you bought a side by side, not a Cadillac. If you need a backup camera on this type of machine, then you've bought this machine for the wrong reasons. You sir are the Karen alternative for men.
Honda pioneer puts all to shame. Any comparison. Reliability is number one. Mine is six years old. Don nothing but change oil. Cost is more, but you definitely get what you pay for.
I wanted a Honda but couldn't find one because of all the covid crap...there was a 1.5 to 2 year wait ....so I bought a ranger and got it in 6 weeks. I love honda though I have a 2000 foreman 4x4 with less than 4000 miles and it's still going.
Does anyone else feel like this guy is regretting that he’s too cheap to buy a Northstar and he wouldn’t have needed all these crap “upgrades?” You get what you pay for

I think the back up camera is angled for hooking up a trailer or something
Have the tip out screen on my hd8s and it's designed to just let enough air in to minimise cab dust without doors and it makes a massive improvement
On my 900 I ran 55mph with the windshield tipped out never had an issue. The review mirror try and flip the bracket so it drops the mirror down. I did it on my 900 and it made visibility 100% better.

Superb honest review of the Ranger. 👍 Thank you.

I've had 2 Rangers. I don't think Polaris is the problem. I think all the extra stuff you have on it is the problem.
I have had a 2019 Northstar for 1.5 years, no issues so far. quite literally a rip off lol
All of my doors are horrible too

Just bought a 2023 570 Northstar and thanks for the video .
I loved those doors and almost bought them until seeing this. Thanks for saving me a lot of $$$ and heartache
I love my half metal doors. I even painted bed liner on the inside to quiet some of the noise. It also deadens the noise if a branch hits.
Wish I had seen this a couple weeks sooner. I am picking up my Ranger tomorrow.
That grass though!
Jonathan Neely ... Those houses though!!

TRY TAKING THE SAFETY STICKER OFF YOUR REAR VIEW CAMERA ITS A PERFECT IMAGE. THANK ME LATER.
I'm with you on almost everything. That mirror is super annoying. I upgraded mine right away. Remember that you did get the base model ranger.
I purchased a polaris northstar for my family to use in arizona. The air-conditioning does not work in hot areas. I made a video of polaris ripping my family off.
They very clearly state it is not air conditioning it just blows cool recycled air. If its 100+ outside I cant imagine the air is very cool.
Is the freon fully charged?
I thank you for this video as I am looking to buy a side by side. It gives me things to pay attention to on all brands..

Too expensive
You bought a work machine it’s meant for work not to be comfortable
Anyway you could get an extender lock for the windshield so you could open it further and lock it in so it could handle higher speeds?

Thanks good vid, make more if you replace any of the negative stuff/ Is accessories on your ranger.
That ride commander could have been a free bicycle app on your phone gps wise.
Thank you for the door and windshield insight.
Me and my friend drove 90kmh with the front windshield up xD it doesnt break
We went on a ride last summer. 60 mph all day with it wide open and nothing bad happened.
Great video !!!!! ...... you make me want to buy a full face helmet instead of a "cab" ..... LOL :-)
Have a xp turbo and love it. But I think a can am defender would have really been better for you

Why u didn't buy the north start edition instead?
Good review thanks.
Bro that flip up front window is for shooting stuff.
I drove 55 and my front window didn't blow off.🤔
I don't like anything about that Polaris. Honda Pioneer for the win (excellent quality accessories as well).
Tip out windscreen for hunting
Shoulda invested in a defender
My rear camera had a plastic strip/cover over the lense Thats why it was blurry
why did you even buy it lol trade it in on a can am
I go full speed never had a problem
How much is the MSRP roughly to begin with?
A good 17k for that one
Want a back up camera? Go to Costco and you can set it up the way you want and it’s a lot cheaper lol!!

2500 for doors what a rip off
We have 2021 it has good seat
First mistake is buying a Polaris!!!
Lol really why is that? I just bought one last month I already put 250 miles 34 hrs no complaints works great so far what do you drive?
Does anyone else feel like this guy is regretting that he’s too cheap to buy a Northstar and he wouldn’t have needed all these crap “upgrades?” You get what you pay for
Shut up and take my money! 🤑🤑😁
You pay for what you get
...Now I remember why I hate polaris
Polaris needs to stop making those *&@^# tip out windshields. You are right, they don't serve any practical purpose.
Or you can wash some spots after use -_-
Muito bonito.
Too much money
UTV'S are made for the mud to fly on you the wind in your hair..You want the mud to stay off you and wind get a jeep!!..Or stay home and watch the Hallmark channel!!..Hahahahahahaha!!!..Happy hunting buddy!!!..
8:30 of cons and 2 minutes for pros hahaha. No thanks
Lesson learned, don't buy a Polaris.
He is being really picky about a utility vehicle.
Maybe you should find another hobby
