An interesting thing to note in Simona Rocha's collection is the influence from the 1830s fashion. From the poufy sleeves and higher waistlines to the full trapezoidal skirts and heavy embellishments. Also the modern take on the coiffure à la chinoise ties in the inspiration very well.
Im throwing this idea to the Universe: Simone Rocha at Dior Edit: or Simone Rocha at McQueen and Sarah Burton at Dior. They would both KILL, and very differently.
Roche is delivering the edgy, dark, tailored cool that Saint Laurent used to be known for but without becoming a one trick pony. It's so much more interesting
I actually visited the Aran Islands. I have a sweater that I bought there. It is so nice, soft, and warm. I've had it for years and I've tried to take really good care of it. It barely looks worn even though I use it a lot. It's such high quality and is relatively low priced considering how thick and nice they are. They're not really anything innovative, but they're just really good sweaters. My sweater is more of a hoodie. It's purple with cable knit details and it's even lined. It's 100% wool with the lining 100% cotton. Super comfy and not scratchy and itchy like acrylic.
That Molly Goddard raspberry tweed coat is the first thing I've seen that I actually deeply crave for myself. Wow. And the Maximillian look at 25:00 is giving me serious 'exaggerated mod Bond girl' vibes.
Wow each one of these knocked it out of the park. I’m forever in awe of Simone’s incredible eye and talent, and thank you for tipping me off to Maximillian I’m officially obsessed. I mean those goggles? Gag
the daniel fletcher collection is INCREDIBLE. the tailoring is so beautiful and you can tell the construction is done so well. knocking it out of the park as always, thank u for the fab review!!
I just sent out my application to Central Saint Martins and let me just say Luke, thank you for the incredible work and passion you put out for us in your videos, I have lernt so much from you and you keep on giving
I know you weren't crazy about some of it but I love the almost 70s-esque mens work wear references in DWF... It either feels like he's looking at the boys working in the city or the men building it. The tailoring takes us us to the trading floors, the vests, leather shouldered jumpers and extra pocketed pants take us to the buildings sites. *my dad was a builder in the 70s and 80s and the leather shouldered army surplus jumper was a staple of his winter wardrobe, so maybe my affection is brought on by nostalgia.
this doesn't happen often but I loved all of these collections and your reviews/analysis/descriptions keep getting more and more exquisite with every time you post, dear Professor Meagher
Simone Rocha was on fire like damn... the whole collection was so good. The variations in textiles all managed to work together and it felt so concise... I'm kind of in love
Your runway reviews are so fun and informative. ☺️✨ Also, I think those strappy criss cross sandals in Goddard’s collection might be a reference to ghillie shoes, which supports your theory about the Scottish influences 🤔
11:11 I wish that was a gcse reference😭😭but our government uses numbers now to grade us Think of it more as an a level reference Other than that great video Queen👑💎✨
Lol I have a British Passport too as well an Irish one and I look at my British Passport think “your only job now is to be my ID when I don’t want to carry my real passport, especially when travelling to the U.K.” 😂
28:47 that piece of leather overlaying the pants made me think of the pants that farriers or workmen wear, I feel like that might’ve been the inspiration for them which I thought was cool!
While not all of this fashion is wearable in a real world, it is all beautiful, striking and interesting. While I will be forever enthralled by a princess tulle ballgown (Disney saturated my childhood), were I to choose a collection of new clothing to fill my closet, it would be from Daniel W. Fletcher's collection.
Reid’s head pieces are exact copies of traditional head pieces (Bamileke Elephant Mask head-piece) from the Bamileke and Bamum people of Cameroon. I don’t like white designers stealing African pieces and passing them on as “Punk” and their own. But what’s new....
The Harris Reed collection has me jaw dropped. It is so artistically stunning. The Halos have floored me, the mix of dark and light as well. Absolutely floored by the collection I’ll probably have it up on my wall in like a week
The second look from Harris Reed, specially the hair makes me think of William Blake's "Urizen" painting. It depicts a character tfrom Blake's mythology who is the architect of the universe. I don't know if he was referecing that but I think its interesting!
I just realized that Simone Rocha’s collection is a pretty Comme des Garçons. From the fabric manipulation to form flowers in jackets (CDG FW 2013), feminine-cut leather biker jackets with the mutton sleeves paired with tulle skirts and leggings, layering of tulle dresses over white button downs, boxy jumper straps, not to mention the head pieces, it reminds me of Rei Kawakubo’s work.
Can anyone tell me where I can buy clothes straight of the runway. All the sites have the clothing in general. I want to know where do I buy specifically like ready to wear fall/winter 2021
Fun fact for 13:16 - The vast majority of Irish school uniforms don't have blazers. Wool jumpers, tartan skirts or simple typically wool or imitation wool trousers with shirts and sometimes ties (for both male and female students) would be the norm in terms of uniforms. If you go up to Northern Ireland the prevalence of blazers skyrockets and it is more in line with typical british school uniforms.
Timestamps for each brand
Harris Reed - 0:43
Molly Goddard - 5:45
Simone Rocha - 11:33
Chopova Lowena - 19:00
Maximilian - 23:01
D W F - 27:11
thank you lifesaver
Bless you!!
Simone Rocha always serving the girls exactly what they ordered, plus dessert on the house. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Which is to say: Sarah Burton's McQueen.
I’m so early that I was inspired to change into a better outfit so I can think that Luke would be proud of me.
I'm proud of you for the outfit
Haha mood
He should do a rewiev of the H&M and Simona Rocha collab everybody is hungry for.
Yess please!
Yes, he should!
I mean i need to know if I spend all the money for fashionable pieces😂

Luke darling you don’t need to rub brexit in the noses of people who _only_ have a British passport 😓😓
Literally GAGGING at how good Maximilian & Simone Rocha collections were.
for some reason i cannot stop staring at luke's hands they really go ➡️⬆️↘️⬅️⬆️↘️↗️➡️↙️⬇️↘️⬆️

YASSSSSS! Simone Rocha's cool and romantic vibe will be a hit at McQueen 😍
Simone Rocha at Mcqueen would be * chefs kiss *

I'm glad that more black models are in london fashion week

I'd love to see a Harris Reed on one of those bulky avenger dudes. Come on Thor, wear that skirt!
Just on time to 'pretend I'm fancy even though I'm in my pajamas' appointment
Luke: I'll stop mentioning food now
Me: You can go ahead, I'm not the one who can't eat rn *whips out chips*
the daniel fletcher collection is INCREDIBLE. the tailoring is so beautiful and you can tell the construction is done so well. knocking it out of the park as always, thank u for the fab review!!
I’m stunned. The collect from Rochas is the first that has made me stop and actually go find their stuff to buy! Perfection
I did this too 😳
Molly goddard’s dresses are so lively and colourful and.... delicious. I’m drooling. I want to wear that pink plaid dress NOW.
Rochas collection is PERFECT
I'm early to my let's-be-mad-at-brands-together appointment
Love you, btw
I am here for this caption 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪😍😍
As an Irish fashion loving citizen, I have been SUMMONED
Just noticed that Maximilian's accessories reference "Among Us".
omg you're right
when the fashion is amogus sussy 😳📺
Maybe you could co a RPDR related video (about some specific looks or the way drag may have influenced fashion) ?
I love your videos
Luke, as a chef, I am LIVING for your food reference! 😁
Taffeta should be hidden somewhere deep deep deep in someone's closet. Unless they experienced the 80s personally lol
lol it's definitely coming back more and more!!
it's the rustling sound that sets me off
This caption giving me life 🇮🇪🇮🇪☘️☘️ go Luke
I'm loving living and laughing for these collections, especially the Simone Rocha one !
It’s so zen to come home after a long day hop on the couch with a snack and listen to that chill intro and just feel like it’s a fun little hangout.
Why would Luke personally attack us by uploading a Simone Rocha love video when we all just missed out on the H&M launch lmao
I just sent out my application to Central Saint Martins and let me just say Luke, thank you for the incredible work and passion you put out for us in your videos, I have lernt so much from you and you keep on giving
I just stumbled upon your channel and I'm hooked! Would you please do the upcoming Seoul Fashion Week?
Luke! Review some Irish Dance DRESSES if you want to see some wild stuff!
Watching Luke review fashion collections while I devour a cheeseburger is a whole energy and vibe.

I was really suprised that he didn't catch that reference!
1:50 I appreciate this dress but it just hurts my brain when I look at it, trying to figure out where the feet are.😂
this doesn't happen often but I loved all of these collections

Luke: “And I’ll stop mentioning good starting now officially”
Also Luke after 5s: “and has sweet red velvet details”
I loved Molly Goddard's collection this season!! I would wear like 90% of the stuff she made.
the fact that the editing isn't perfect kind of makes it more perfect
Rocha is definitely becoming my favorite designer, she’s just so creative
Simone Rocha was on fire like damn... the whole collection was so good. The variations in textiles all managed to work together and it felt so concise... I'm kind of in love

@@nancyhi8357 Obsessed with what?
When your early but can't think of an interesting so you just reply "same" to other people's
Can Luke do a video on Rocha?
lol same

I am OBSESSED with Rochas collection *chefs kiss*
"Let's the hunger games begin" I wouldn't wear any of that in that way, but I but have to admit that textiles are lovely
11:11 I wish that was a gcse reference😭😭but our government uses numbers now to grade us

i actually googled the old GCSE grades because i wanted to make sure i got it right!!!
Goddard's coats look so fucking good wtf
Lol I have a British Passport too as well an Irish one and I look at my British Passport think “your only job now is to be my ID when I don’t want to carry my real passport, especially when travelling to the U.K.” 😂
Simone rocha was fire they hadnt really blown me away before but it was the best thing in London fashion week for me
Has anyone ever told you you look like a young Helen Bonham Carter? (In a complimentary way - she’s beautiful)
I loooooooove Rocha's collection. I spent all my money on her new collab with H&M. What are your thoughts on that btw?

I definitely think the long striped scarves in Molly Goddard's collection are a reference to Dr Who, the fourth doctor/Tom Bakers iconic scarf
I'm in love with like 90% of the items here,, LET ME WEAR THEM
your metaphors are getting better everyday and i live!!!
Cup of tea, Haute Le Mode and biscuits has saved Thursday!
I was already thinking that the Roche collection is just "Moira Rose's Wardrobe" and then he pulled out the Winter Rose dress, and, yeah.
The Rochas Collection is Gorgeous ! Heaven great English design here in all these collections..thanks Luke😍

Really loved the review! Simone Rocha's dress at 14:45 and 17:55 would make beautiful wedding dresses! 🤍🌸
I wish Billie Eilish wore Symone Rocha
Also I lived that you showed smaller brands I didn't know of
She would like fire in the 16:49 look 😍
@@estherluciano9623 she totally would 😍😍😍

Also life update, I paused the video to buy the Rocha tights. They were just so beautiful
Luke is the only thing keeping me sane❤️😊 *cries in depressed *
I think you should keep the food comparisons. It makes understanding the composition of outfits understandable imo lol

Damn this was good. Informative, a good ratio of opinions in there, and saw a bunch of nice garments
Molly Ringwald wearing a Molly Goddard remake of the sixteen candles bridesmaid dress would be unreal

Rocha is a goddess😍😘. That green jacket is museum material!😮
Since I'm new into the whole fashion scene I've never heard of Simone Rocha but I think I just found my new favorite designer
CAN'T WAIT FOR GRAMMY 2021 FASHION ROAST❤

Man you are a jenius for this analagy 7:46 xx from Holland love your channel ♥️
I went online to look up the 15:18 Simone Rocha's black coat I could just picture myself leaving the house with it and setting the street on fire.
Luke pleasee review the h&m x Simone Rocha collection!
that DwF duffle coat is pretty cool tho
Love the insight, there is a love and excitement I have in AW2021. Ready to layer my larger dresses.

Miss Rocha SLAYED that!!!!!
the first maximilian outfit presented was amazing 🤩
can you do a fashion review on your favorite female rappers, because i feel like you are here for the girls
I love your videos! Thank you for making them
As an Irish gal I've always pronounced Rocha kind of like 'Rawscha' but maybe I'm wrong. her collection this year was just incredible
Hi! I doubt you'll see this! But I was wondering what your opinion is on Jean Charles de castlebajac.
Yesssss. I have been waiting for this, Luke. Thank you!!! #love
