ROASTING DIOR CRUISE 2022 FASHION SHOW

Christian Dior's Cruise 2022 collection was an ode to the Dior Fall 1951 collection which was shot at the pantheon for Paris Match magazine. There were references to Greco-Roman styles, like the Chito and the Peplos, and different Dior motifs like the Cannage quilting. There were also a few looks that were definintely a riff off Di Petsa's "Wet Look" technique which shows that even if Maria Grazia Chiuri isn't going to appropriate a culture, she'll just steal something else. Her finale dress was a reference to a Marlene Dietrich "Swan Gown" which was also made famous by Björk, and I wonder if this might be her "Swan Song"?
