It's okay to be beautiful, unfortunately health and beauty is not the same thing. Just because they're beautiful doesn't mean they don’t need to lose weight and be healthy.

WTF are people on when they start saying it's expensive to eat healthy???? healthy doesn't have to be fresh organic vegetables; you can have a heaping bowlful of pasta with olive oil and tomato sauce and it's still gonna be wildly cheaper and healthier than washing down tubs of fried chicken and cheeseburgers with coke. it's called basic math and common sense.
No it’s just delusions and lack of accountability like lady it’s not a matter of consideration the definition of obese is to be 100 pounds or more overweight and you clearly are
The modern movement that tries to convince society that every body type is healthy, is so dangerous; basic self love is absolutely compatible with knowing that you're currently in an unhealthy condition that has to be changed

I’d disagree on your last sentence, it does say something about who they are as a person… For example somebody that’s big and muscular, u know they work out a lot, have dedication, etc. Apply that to obese people, sure it’s not fair for everything gene wise but that doesn’t stop people from judging u in public

@@AcesMR6Obese does not always equal unhealthy though. I think that was the point OP was making. The older fit woman said she is clinically obese. Someone who is fit and muscular could still be classed as obese because the BMI index is highly flawed.
This exactly! People have a tendency to be offended when someone is categorized as obese. Being obese doesn't, by default mean you are a bad person. It just means you are obese. This is coming from a former obese person. People have lost common sense.
Not trying too sound harsh but the woman saying she’s not obese is deluded. If at that body weight she’s not skinny, lean, muscular or a bit fluffy there’s only a few more categories she could be

THIS. I struggle with fluctuating weight and I‘m currently the heaviest I‘ve ever been (US size 12) and I can absolutely feel my knees now every time I walk my dog compared to when I weighed much less.
Far doesn't mean you can't have stamina or increased lung capacity. When your bigger, you body has to do more work. A skinny unfit person's body doesn't nearly work as hard as a far parson.
As an obese person, other obese people make hella excuses. I’m a stay at home mom, I have a baby, I’m tired of being big. I used to make all those excuses too, but we have to care for ourselves and be honest. I’m only 19 and I have high blood pressure. For the longest time I lied to myself just so I could stay comfortable. One day I just sat down with myself and realized, although life is hard and there are many challenges, I want to live for my son. I’ve been doing better now. I’ve lost almost 20lbs and I’ve started going to the gym. I’m looking forward to see more results and be a healthier version of me. I suggest other people try. I know it’s hard, but take care of yourself, you have people that care about you.

I don't understand why people think you have to eat, gluten-free, 1000% organic expensive stuff to be healthier. Most people are obese because they eat too much. If they ate less food on a diet they would save money, being obese is expensive.
also u can get frozen veggies. shiiet thats what i do! they are mad cheap! i dont get a bunch of separate veggies and cut em up. also, with fruit ill have a bag of one type of fruit rather than getting a few different kind. Considering gluten comes from filler “foods” yes you should stop eating gluten to be healthy… Eating gluten free isn’t hard either… You simply quit eating stuff made out of most grains… Grains are not pertinent to our diet… They can mess around with the food pyramid all they want but people do not NEED to eat grains.

"Addiction is the disease that tells your brain that the problem is the solution" 👏👏👏 That's a huge one! and one that is relevant today more than ever for so many people. The escape that addiction offers us is ultimately the biggest source of misery. and mindfulness/meditation - learning the art of non-reaction - is a powerful tool to fix our addicted selves!
90% agree but caveat from a professional standpoint- it depends a *little* bit on the person. For example, if an addicted person is also experiencing life circumstances that mean they're in a constant state of mental trauma or fight/flight, and have the freeze response, meditation can actually exacerbate the problem bc they're further removing themselves from their somatic processing. Again, it's very person specific, and there's not really a one size fits all solution to addiction, and meditation is incredibly helpful for many people experiencing it- it's just rarely the only solution and if theyre in a clinical setting, a lot of different factors need to be evaluated before recommending it(or any other treatment/coping skill)
That was my issue, I kept saying I didn't have time up until I got fed up with my life and made the time. First year I lost over 100lbs just from making small life changes.

10:18 "I have friends who are skinnier than me, we go on walks and they're losing their breaths" GIRL just because they do not have the stamina does not mean that a person is obese 😭😭😭 there are lots of reasons why a person could be out of breath when walking maybe that person is anemic, does not have enough sleep, respiratory condition, etc. Also, BMI parameters are based on your height and weight and it is to determine whether your weight is in healthy proportion with your height. It is just based on your anthropometric measurements and not your capabilities when you are in that weight.
Yeah. And not being fit and not having muscle also leads to a lot of problems later in life, so that also is bad, but a different problem! You lose weight by eating less, you build muscle by exercising, too many people think those two are one and the same...
i’m literally 115 lbs and get out of breath on hikes 😭 idk why she used that as an example when everyone has different conditions when it comes to being active
To me it kind of sounds like she equates the term "obese" with "fit", which would explain her definition of obese. Because you can be not obese and also not be fit and vice versa. Obese is a word to describe the ratio of your height and your weight, but has also been used as a slur so i think that might be why some of the women calles it "medically obese" to put the emphasis on the ratio and away from the slur.
It's admirable how at a time like this you make an episode that's for sure interesting and trying to get views, but you're actually doing it respectfully and in a not dramatic way like for example getting the girls to fight to spice things up. You can tell when a presenter is trying to give drama or calm things down, I'm sure you could do the first but glad you did the second.
I know I might get boo’d…but fit is more attractive. Screw men, PEOPLE (including other women) treat you way better. It may not be fair, it sucks…but it’s true. Clothing fits better. You can participate in more social activities. Overall you’re just more attractive in society.

I think people also feel entitled to eat like insanely delicious food because their palate has been so distorted by fast, convenient food, so they don't want to eat simple dishes. If you look at the BMI chart, and you look at professional athletes majority of them would probably fall in the obese category just based off height and weight, which is the BMI chart off of
To be fair, there is a HUGE problem with BMI. The classification of obese from a BMI of thirty was done studying white men only. Whether or not someone is so overweight that it negatively impacts their health depends on a variety of factors, not just a number on a chart because that number can mean different things for different ages, sexes, races etc. So no I don't think it's weird to criticize the chart in your doctor's office constructed from incomplete research. Plus, BMI only accounts for weight and doesn't include other factors that influence your health

It's called dodging and coping. “Fit” is a physical characteristic. They immediately started talking about nonphysical characteristics. I highly respect Dahna for stepping forward with her honesty. Not sure if she knew she'd be the only one though.
I agree with you. Fit looks different for different people. If someone is 400+lbs and they are down to 240. That requires work and effort and contributes to attractiveness. Mindset, dedication, and health
I agree. You find someone attractive and want to get to know them, then their personality enhances your attraction to them. That baseline attraction is purely physical most of the time
Some of us are demisexual and genuinely aren’t physically attracted to anyone until we have an emotional connection with them. I’ve dated folks of all kinds of body types. My longest relationship was with someone who has been the biggest person I’ve dated (about 350lbs 6’2”, not fit). I will say my personal caveat is that I prefer to date people who can do physical activities with me, but that doesn’t mean they have to be skinny or fit to do so. I am a size 12 and got some cushion and I can kick skinnier peoples’ asses at a number of physical activities. If you tell me that you can’t go on a 40 mile bike ride up a mountain with me, when that’s one of my favorite things to do, then it’s not gonna work out.
It's so sad how most of the women feel offended when a doctor/proffesional/close friend tells them they are obese. I agree with you, but she isn't morbidly obese. She's just obese. MORBIDLY obese is literally one step away from dying, hence the use of the word MORBID. You have to be 400+ pounds to be morbidly obese. She's probably 250-300, which is still inexcusable.
I've taken medication and have lost a lot of weight after trying for years to do it on my own. I'm now a lot healthier, happier and fitter. I'll gladly take it for the rest of my life. The BMI is an antiquated tool, which doesn’t take into account muscle volume etc… many professional athletes are “medically obese” but not by society standards. I think that woman just didn’t know what she was talking about and is maybe not ready to accept that term
@@lachlanross1 it’s still an antiquated tool. The guy who made the BMI literally said in his study that he created it for to not use it as a source for comparing health. The only reason why it’s used is because health insurance companies needed a guideline to go off of so they chose that. Are the girls in the video obese, yes - but I 1000% believe we need a new way to define obesity that takes in more than height and weight.
@@FloatingInSpace5702 This is such a cope argument. Most people won't have enough muscle to actually raise their weight enough to obesity levels. It takes years and years of dedicated working out to actually raise your ''muscle weight'' by 15 or so kg yet we have these couch potatoes who can barely even lift their own behind claiming they are heavy because of muscle. So no most athletes actually won't be ''medical obese'' because athletes actually have low bodyfat percentage which usually puts them at average weight
10:20 no im sorry, i dont believe her. she's getting out of breath just sitting there talking. ik some people will see this as "hate" but objective reality is not hateful, its a necessity. this is a pretty severe form of disassociation that she's experiencing and i sincerely hope she gets the chance to address and heal it so she can live a healthier life
I lost 150 pounds and I used to think exactly like her. All love to her, but yeah, she’s definitely bargaining and in denial about her health. Which honestly is none of my business but it’s not a great message in my opinion for younger girls. Like when I was a bit bigger than she is I was going on hikes every day, but they were like a mile and it took me forever and I was going slow so I wasn’t getting out of breath. So I told myself that I was exercising, but then I would sit inside the entire rest of the day and just eat. I didn’t have any concept of what it was like to actually exercise consistently and get my heart rate up, so honestly maybe she just hasn’t had a lot of those experiences yet but I really hope she can at least be realistic with herself in a nonjudgmental way, and accept that her reality is pretty skewed. I had to do the same thing and it was really tough and I got really really defensive, but it was totally necessary and changed my life.

When I’ve been depressed, like actually depressed, not sad or disappointed, I choose healthy food to improve. Plus, I’m so numb when I’m depressed, I can’t taste food anyway, so I don’t understand why someone would eat unhealthy when it doesn’t even create a dopamine hit. lol
Yes!!! Your brain and gut connected.
My mom died a few years back and I was severely depressed. I just laid down and did nothing. I’m not kidding, just laying down for days. My bf at the time was so helpful. At first he’d just come be with me, and eventually he’d force me to go to the gym for an hour. It’s the main thing that helped my depression at the time, getting out and moving. I didn’t want to, but it did help a ton.
Lol she's tryna get everybody to be obese and just not her
To me it kind of sounds like she equates the term "obese" with "fit", which would explain her definition of obese.
People don't like the truth, but it's still the truth
This is so true, it was sad to see that even their argument didn’t prove it because at the end of the day fit will always be more attractive 🫤
Your looks are a currency. We can be woke all day long and individuals might treat you a special way as a means of their own wokeness token, but in general your life will be better if you look better 🤷♀️
Beauty is subjective. There are no definitive truths when it comes to judging attractiveness.
They way you see and treat yourself, society often reflects back. Those girls love themselves and take care of themselves, and the universe responds in kind.

I think people also feel entitled to eat like insanely delicious food because their palate has been so distorted by fast, convenient food, so they don't want to eat simple dishes. Like I cook every meal I eat and often it's pretty boring (still tasty, but not crafted by food scientists to be hyper-palatable) but that also means it doesn't take that much time to cook.

I did make a comment, about my struggle with losing weight after my child, but I have never struggled with weight until now, after having my child.
It’s extremely discouraging to put the work in for these last 2 years and only having seen I lost 10 pounds, my goal is I would like to lose 60 pounds, during my pregnancy I was in bed rest and gained much more weight than I intended, and after birth I did lose some weight but I had started new medications, and gained more weight back.
I recently was told by my doctors I have a thyroid condition and started a medication to help, it can cause many issues aside from weight gain,
I am hoping that it will help me with my weight though, I do not like this new body, it feels very foreign to me. I have never been overweight in my life. And it causes pain in my body, my knees and hips and back are in pain, and my doctors will tell me it is due to my complications from child birth but I also do think it is from so much weight gain in such a short time.
I am working hard daily, and I have only lost 22 pounds so far, it has taken 2 years to lose 22 pounds.
the thing is, most people who try to lose weight fail. this is true. maybe it's just the case that most people are lazy, but it's not super helpful to say it's an "excuse" when most people can't go through with it. that doesn't mean being obese isn't unhealthy, it is, it's really really bad for you.

"I've been medically obese since I was 12, and I was not obese." So you think you know more than medical experts... maybe that's part of the problem on why you're obese.
Or maybe we live in a flawed medical system that reproduces fatphobia, just a thought
exactly. You cannot just say that you were "not obese" because you thought so and did not agreed with what the doctor said.
I’m sure this statement that was made during the video was solely based off what the BMI chart says. Which is something that medical professionals use to establish whether you were healthy or overweight or obese.

I feel like when asked the question "fit women are more attractive", most of them chickened out of agreeing. Saying personality is more important doesn't reject the notion that being fit is more attractive. It just means that being physically attractive isn't the most important thing.
My thoughts too
It's so sad how most of the women feel offended when a doctor/proffesional/close friend tells them they are obese. It's not an offensive slur, it's a medical term, and when a proffesional tells you that, it means you are by all health standards overweight and it is endangering your life in some way. They are being paid to help people, and I believe most of them got into that proffesion because of that, it's just so dissapointing to see how hard it is for some people to just accept criticism that is meant to elongate their life.
not even elongate life , i was obese three years ago , existing was painful , couldnt breath, couldnt walk , i was always uncomfortable, sweaty , stomach pains ,lung pains ,plus feelings disgusted by my body , losing weight made life worth living
But BMI is not really a medical term, it is a mathematical one. Nobody ever questions where this term comes from and how it came to be.
@@vivianacordero135 How about we have a look away from numbers and at real bodies then? Can you realistically say that someone who is taking up 1.5-2 seats, breathing hard, can barely fit clothing, and generally is nowhere near fit, is healthy? Once again disregarding BMI. Using your eyes and brain here.
I totally understand but I also can see this from their perspective. “Retard” was also a medical term and for years people who were *Not* doctors used that word to put down disabled people. I would say that the word obese is also used in the same way by people who are *Not* doctors. And when not used by doctors it is almost always used as a derogatory term. I wouldn’t want to be called obese by my doctor or anyone if I was bullied all throughout school with that same word.
