I miss old Ernest. I remember seeing all his movies as a kid. Just good clean silly humor. The man is definitely a comic legend. Ernest Goes to Jail and Ernest Goes to Camp were my favorites of his. Much respect for Mr. Varney, know what I mean?😉
Omg!! For years I’ve been telling my Daughter this incorrectly. “Real me are not intimidated by threats on the physical being”. I’m so happy I found the actual quote. That line actually inspired me to be myself growing up. Rip Big Playa!! 🙏🏾✌🏾
Both Varney's bizarrely malleable face lending to his crazy skill with facial impressions, and his incredibly broad vocal range work seamlessly together to make him one of the funniest physical comedians ever! My personal fave of his long list of characters is the "Tired, Lonely Old Woman", by far. The way that neck brace he wears when playing her smooshes his lower face as he prattles on about how horrible her son was. 😂😂😂😂
This is a great lineup of the classic impressions too, I had to figure 'em out years later. I think he starts James Cagney, then does Walter Brennan, goes into his Stallone at maximum meatball. After that, he does a decent Humphrey Bogart, then I THINK he does a Dudley Moore? After that, it's basically Sergeant Glory, followed by god knows what, then he ends on 'ol Lloyd Worrell, the meanest old man who ever lived. how'boutcha?
It's funny that in his Stallone impression he's like "Yo, Murdock!" because the guy who plays Murdock in "Rambo:First Blood Part ii" (the late great Charles Napier) plays the prison warden in this movie.
Jim Varney was so freakin hilarious
"And I'm the man who's going to destroy you" kills me!!!!! I miss this guy!!!!
That one was the reason I looked this up on UA-cam.
@@matthewallen1834 LOL!
He does a great James Mason!
Was that Peter o'tooles impersonation?
@@Thejoeking75 James Mason impersonation.
R.I.P. 🪦 Jim Varney
Can't believe youtube is charging 17.99 to buy this movie
Biden goes to jail lol
2:30 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Let me try:
You dirty rat! You’re the one that shot my brother... Now I’m the one that’s gonna shoot you!
How’d I do?
Too old sounding? Lol! Gets me all the time :D
John Cena .
2:25
"Real men are not intimidated by physical threats to their personal selves, and ironically, neither am I." LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
Especially since Ernest has an even shakier grip on what irony is than Alanis Morrissette.
James Cagney, Walter Brennan, Sylvester Stallone, Humphrey Bogart, Barry Fitzgerald and James Mason. Varney was a talented man!!
He did Shakespeare, even... ua-cam.com/video/2QNW4x2HYYg/v-deo.html
He brought so much joy and laughter to my childhood like Robin Williams did. May they both Rest In Peace. ❤️
Coincidentally they were both friends in real life
I love Jim Varney's Irish accent. Just saying!
Chrissy Luginbill Its not Irish its Appalachian. Plus Jim was of French ancestry
Justin Ratcliffe I think she means the Irish accent he’s faking at 2:18 ...
I was listening to Varney do Shakespeare, his English accent was VERY good.
Lol that’s what made me look this up 😂😂😂
R.I.P Jim
Jim Varney was the man!
He was with his wonderful jokes.
I love his Silvester Stallone impression the best XD
Holy Moses. I never realized that was Stallone until I read your comment
which one?
John Kenneth Wiseman the one after the old man impression
It was the Irish bug that got me! XD
@djlamar2: "Sylvester", not "Silvester"!
The piano will cover the shot - this is way funnier than it should be. RIP Jim
I miss old Ernest. I remember seeing all his movies as a kid. Just good clean silly humor. The man is definitely a comic legend. Ernest Goes to Jail and Ernest Goes to Camp were my favorites of his. Much respect for Mr. Varney, know what I mean?😉
Mr clayton i agree 100 percent
Omg!! For years I’ve been telling my Daughter this incorrectly. “Real me are not intimidated by threats on the physical being”. I’m so happy I found the actual quote. That line actually inspired me to be myself growing up. Rip Big Playa!! 🙏🏾✌🏾
Eh, yo, Murdock. Lol, it still gets me over 20 years later. I must have watched this movie 100 times as a kid.
And recognizing who he's imitating now that I've watched all that TCM over the years makes it even funnier. Lol, that James Mason.
Even better, that Murdock he's referring to? That actor played the warden in this film.
@@primatebrain8718 that's right, Charles Napier. He played the warden in this film, and as Murdock in Rambo: First Blood Part II.
The man was a national treasure 👍🏻
Sooo true for sure
DE-LIGHTFUL!
And I'm the man that's going to destroy you. 😆 LOL 2:30
I always liked that part
James Mason impersonation.
What I basically got from this clip was that Jim Varney is an incredible actor
The Irish voice..and the Victorian style voice...and I'm the man who is goin to destroy you....😄😄
I saw this in the theater when i was 5 years old. It's still hilarious today.
1920s mobster: "Play it, Sam. The piano will cover up the shot."
He's doing Humphrey Bogart's character from Casablanca.
@@AdamCatscratch And he's maybe the only guy who correctly says, "Play it, Sam" instead of "Play it again, Sam."
Holy cow I didn’t even notice that.
Miss you Ernest forever. RIP Jim Varney. Wish you still here today. Hard watching these films now knowing they’ll never be more with you in them.
The James Mason impression had me rolling. Ernest thought THAT was intimidating?
Love it! Never get tired of that scene!
God bless Jim Varney.
Rest In Peace.
I miss his movies he had such an amazing voice
Gotta admit Earnest had some balls not being intimated by having his back broken!
Ernest. "Earnest" is an adjective.

I would’ve loved to see Jim Varney and Jim Carrey do a movie together
Really miss this man
This man was a genius, the lost a great man in Jim Varney!
The last guy was the SNAKE guy from Ernest Saves Christmas
PISON!
This clip is the GOAT
Favorite comedian next to Jim Carrey
"Carrey", dude.
J Double C right before jimstarted making waves
Funny because without Varney there is no lane for Carrey to drive recklessly into.
I saw a video where Barry Scott who plays Rubin spoke at Jim Varney's funeral, nothing short of sweet kind words.
2:18🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣We used to Laugh at this one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!back in the day at Hialeah, ✌REST IN

Tex Cobb still exists.
I used to love the ones at 1:46 & 2:30 as a kid when this film came out.
1:45 sounds he like Walter Brennan
Jim Varney nailed the impersonation of Walter Brennan.
Such an amazing actor.
1:38 and 1:46!
2:17 is still funny I remember I would always laugh at that part
RIP, Jim Varney
HEY. YO. MURDOCH.

2:30 😂😆😂😆
Do you notice tex Cobb trying not to laugh at the end of the video? lol
I always suspected that was a real laugh trying to come out....love that part.
1:37 This is funny for some reason 😂
that's a pretty good bogart
So funny. I loved these movies when I was a kid. Miss him.

My personal fave of his long list of characters is the "Tired, Lonely Old Woman", by far. The way that neck brace he wears when playing her smooshes his lower face as he prattles on about how horrible her son was. 😂😂😂😂
The sequel could've been "Ernest drops the soap".
lol
"Play it, Sam! The piano will cover up the shot!"
This is why it’s good to be different! I miss Jim Varney, he was a class act!...

Alot of old famous movie stars. I reconize Rambo? Lol

As soon as he goes into Stallone I just lose it
It's funny that in his Stallone impression he's like "Yo, Murdock!" because the guy who plays Murdock in "Rambo:First Blood Part ii" (the late great Charles Napier) plays the prison warden in this movie.
Jim Varley was a Legend of comedy in the 1980,s and 90,s
Ernest Goes to Jail walked so Muppets Most Wanted could run.
be cool
Heeke
Who's he imitating at 2:25? LOLOL!!!!!
God bless you
Best "so bad it's good" movie ever
The criminals are so fuckin funny the movie actually has a good emotional center with Lyle.
I really like the first one a old guy. Rambo voice. The old drunken English or Irish guy. Or I'm going to destroy you. :D
First one = James Cagney
Old guy = Walter Brennan
Rambo = Sylvester Stallone
Irish guy = Barry Fitzgerald
Destroy you = James Mason
