Ernest's Great Uncle, Lloyd Worrell

- Homelife is certainly unpretentious, humble, and very informal at the ramshackle home of Ernest's great uncle, Lloyd Worrell.
Lloyd, aunt Ruth, and Ernest's eight year old cousin Mistake share a meal with pretend food, followed by Lloyd's reading a bedtime story from the "Big Book" before Mistake "rocks" his own father to sleep.
This comedy short should be followed by a healthy meal, toothpaste and Jeopardy.
Starring Jim Varney - Комедії
Jim Varney was, hands down, a comic genius! He deserves much more credit for his contributions to modern comedy than he has received over the years. Thank you for this clip. I have not seen it in a long time.
"What scares me is he is gaining weight!" That had my dying. Rest in peace Jim.
It's awesome!!! My Daddy is playing the part of "Mistake" in this film. I adore watching this younger version of him!!!
Must be a real joy for family, hope all is well.
That's incredible! Did he like working with Jim Varney?☺️
I have laughed at this since the first time I saw it. "Nighty night Mistake!" Jim Varney was hilarious.
nice
Idk how true these comments really are but if so that’s amazing. Bless u
“That’s it mistake, bust up all your toys. Daddy’ll get you a new one. Daddy’s rich!” 🤣🤣🤣❤️
For YEARS, I've been saying "He's a good boy, Lloyd" to my dogs... SO exciting to see the place I got it from as a little kid!
Love it! I thought that I was the only one!
My mom’s been saying this for the last 30-plus years!
I can't imagine being one of the 33 humorless people who gave this masterpiece a thumbs down. Timeless perfection in short form, Varney Forever.
33 people will fall off the edge of the world. Mash they fingers... and die! Before they are 12 years old!
Well its got 34 thumbs down now
Smart phones, people hit buttons by accident
I love how "mash his fingers" comes AFTER "fall off the edge of the world"...lol...
warehouselarry I agree hundred% I love it!
Totally a part of what makes this absolutely genius.
And catch on far! Lmfao
"Look at 'im... 6 foot 3, 265 pounds... he only 8 years old!!!"
lmao
So this is where the Snake Man character came from in Ernest Saves Christmas
This is easily his best impersonation of anyone that he ever did! (Rock of ages, cleft fer me, let me hide myself in thee!!!)
+Ron Shank Lol. :-D My favorite scene in Ernest Saves Christmas! Love when he takes his hat off before singing "Rock of Ages" Jim was a comic genius and a Christian.
+0221serendipity amen to that
Yes uncle Lloyd is an angry mountain man and the influence for the Snake Man Lol.
Most of the content is actually from jim varney standup routine in the early 80's
What scares me is he is actually gaining weight. Funniest line ever
you know Ruth you shouldn't a fixed up all these delicacies like this...we're spoilt enough as it is 🤣
" 'Ats it, Lord, just dump it right down here on ol' Lloyd"
😂😂
He can take it
"That's it bust up all your toys, daddy will buy you new ones, daddy's rich"
I say this to my kids a lot
I wish there had been more of this character. The Apopka Snake Rancher was pure gold! 🤣
This is the greatest video ever made. My dad bought the VHS years ago - and Uncle Lloyds part is the best. "Nighty-night Mistake."
I grew up watching the whole family album, but this skit was the most memorable for many reasons.
"use my rock" - I think I died laughing.
"What scares me is he's a'actually a'gainin' weight." - I die every time lol.
Jim Varney was sure one of a kind. He will be missed.
It's amazing how well Jim Varney's comic genius holds up... I laughed at this when I was a child, and I'm still laughing today.
I was hooked when I first saw his Country Fresh commercials. Then stumbled across his VHS tape about his Family Album! I died when I saw his Uncle Lloyd impression in Earnest saves Christmas. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed!
Jim reminds me of My Dad. He was always doing this kinda stuff always making me laugh. I miss the both of them.
My dad is the exact same way. We’ll get to talking like Lloyd and go on and on for like 15 minutes at a time.
"Ain't got a pair of socks between me and Europe!" LMAO
..& never will have!!!! (LOL!!!!!!)
Ron Shank
LOL exactly!
I think it's hilarious that Europe would even be mentioned in this kind of context, because Europe has culture and the Lloyd Worrell household does NOT.
I don't get it
Jim Varney was a natural R.I.P.
I forgot how he used the pov shots, brilliant stuff. I wonder if Billy Bob Thorton was inspired by this for Slingblade.
This is one of my favorite videos of him. I can't say it was his best work because they were all wonderful. I wish he was still with us.
Miss ya Ernest!!! A true comic legend!!!!
My roommates and I rented this on VHS back in the 80's. The family next door had a dumb, big for his age kid of about 13. Guess what his nickname was from then on...
Early Cuyler MISTAKE?
I hope you didn't actually call him that to his face. Poor kid.
that's hilarious
Names his kid mistake and reads from a phone book like scripture. Legit.
Yeah...he's just too cool for school!(As the old saying goes!!!)
"I'm gonna read to ya from the big book! This here's from Second Condominiums 673-5423, extension 12..."
He’s workin on his mind
"Gonna have to start working on him psychologically.." LOL. I caught this special back in the '80's when it was on and laughed myself silly.
my dad used to say "bust up all your toys, daddys RICH" all the time when I was a kid
And mashed his Fanger. LOL gets me every time. RIP Jim Varney
I think I'll pretend lobster and shrimp tonight. Hell I'm spoiled :)
Gitcha summa that parmesan cheese on there!
One of the all-time funniest sketches, hands down.
R.I.P. Jim Varney (1949-2000)
Jim Varney is so missed. We laughed extraordinarily!
I wish we'd have gotten an Ernest movie with the family in it, would have been gold. 😂💜
Hard to believe hes gone. I miss him
I love this skit! Lloyd reminds me of some people in my family, lol!
Mine too😂
Family Album is a work of art. Billy Boogie isn't as good as the rest of it, but this, Corporal Davy, and fishing with Quequeg rank up with any American humor from any genre. Absolutely brilliant.
This clip displays the absolute genius that was Jim Varney. I grew up seeing him on TV commercials, etc.
This was my mom's favorite segment from the "Family Album" video. She passed away last year, but I can still hear her repeating this bit line-for-line. :'-)
Here, git chu some of dat parmesaan cheese on dere...lmao. cracks me up everytime.
Jim Varney is the king!
Adds more context to the line from "Ernest Saves Christmas": "Y'want one fer your boy? I got one for my boy last year..."
My family has made joke references from this one skit of 30 years. Funniest skit ever!!!
Jim was SO talented. One of his BEST characters. Glad KnowwhatImeanvern posted this and keeps Jim on everyones mind, who looks and remembers him like I do. I had heard that Jim was kind hard to work with on camera..but he just seems like a good hearted guy and wish I had the privilage to meet him, while he was still here. RIP Jim..you made many laughs in my childhood...and still do.
A testament to how good this skit is, is that each person here has a different line or gag that gets them every time. Mine is when he says "I'm gonna get in there and make sure that boy is pretending to brush his teeth." Also, I've seen academy award winning movies that have three hour run times and no camera work that compares to that beautiful table flip.
the kid busting cinder blocks in the yard had me laughing like the kid busting cinder blocks in the yard
2021… watched it tonight while I couldn’t sleep. Laughed real good!
That was the greatest table flip I've ever seen
HES A GOOD BOY LLOYD... 🤣🤣
Rock of ages, kuh-left fer me. Let me hawd mahself in thee!
Got married to my angel 1999 in Ernest's home town under a black velvet Elvis. Good times.
This always puts me a good mood. Love Jim Varney
“Cuts with a fork”
*is using a spoon*
😂
Every line of this is comedy gold. For a warped reality turn on closed captions (No meat you little junkie! LOL). I think I still got the old VHS of this in the backseat of my '36 Chrysler in a soup can.
How do they do this with a straight face?? How many takes did it take,'cause I'm on the floor now. The actors know the hilarity, that is standard fare, in all of Varney's shorts. I can only imagine!
elissa sangi in the close-up, where he is telling Mistake he has spaghetti all over his face, he looks like he is about to laugh.
“I’m werrrkin on ‘em psychologicallyyy “ LOL im weak
Aww daddy! Don't kick ole spud.. It makes 'em twitch funny!
I used to work with his stepsons. They said he was an amazing dad as well as an amazing actor.
Ernest lives on...💓😾👍!!!
Jim Varney was one of the best Actors in the world GOD REST HIS SOUL!!!
Man, Resident Evil 7 sure has some good dialogue.
1 person got their fangers mashed.
Sobernic1982 ahahaha
It's from Ernest's Family Album. It was a VHS in WalMarts about 20 years ago. I'm not sure how you'll be able to find it these days. But it is THE quintesential Ernest film. Hilarious all the way through.
when my dad describes his grandfather in kentucky
Awesome! Jim Varney is gold, platinum, diamonds....one of kind guy. Too bad he's no longer here with us...
He was my neighbor in the “eighties”! Never met him though but my older friends used to drink with him at a couple local watering holes
oh ahahaaa my lord, this a genius forgotten in the sands of time
I have fond memories of getting stoned for the first time in the mid 90s and watching this on tape
"He's only 8 years old" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I lose it every time he flips the table and I see Lloyd going with it lol and when he rocks him to sleep LMFAO
This isone of the greats here . I'm the youngest of 5. My mom would rent us a vcr and this tape. Amazing how little little we needed to have a great time . Memories ❤
I love Jim Varney ❤
My great uncle Robert acts exactly like Lloyd feels like I talk to lloyd every time I go see Robert
I used to do this whole skit for my grandfather and did all the voices word for word and it brought enjoyment into his life because it made him laugh his ass off, I was just messing around on UA-cam and thought wait a minute let me see if they have that skit somewhere it's been so long, my grandfather and I were very close and I always felt bad for him because he was wounded in the Korean War and he had a lot of health problems, so by making him laugh made me feel good deep down inside! I lost him in 1991 and not a day goes by that I don't think about him but anyway this brought back memories and I keep watching it over and over and it's funny as hell every time, and after all these years have gone by I can still pretty much imitate each voice but not like I used to, so thank you very much for this video it feels so good to laugh again!
Love u uploader I remmber this as a kid now my kid watched it and Jim thank u up in heaven for getting ur content out still made my day with this gave me child hood memorys
"What scares me is he's actually gainin' weight..."
I watched this vhs so many times in the 80's, I know each word by heart 30 some years later.
Family Album is my favorite Jim Varney movie
This skit for me is the absolute funniest of all time and has never left my memory after 30 years. I watched it again for the first time in many years and laughed so hard tears were streaming down my cheeks. I developed about 30 comedic voices after watching this entire video. Never got the John Wayne down but can do variations of Uncle Lloyd, Mistake, and Walter Brennan that never fail to make people laugh. God bless Jim Varney - he was a true comedic genius.
It's too bad he has passed you really was one hell of a great actor
One of the funniest skits I've ever seen
Priceless memories. May he Rest In Peace, Amen.
So funny !!! I remember seeing this like 20 years ago and was trying to find it again. Thanks for posting it !
Best Earnest character EVER!! Wish he woulda did more with Lloyd and Mistake
And mashed his fanger!!
Killed me
This is actually a classic.
This is a flashback! Haha, great stuff!
great jim varney skit, sad that he didnt get 2 make any more. R.I.P jim, good times
God's gift you posting this video. Jim/Ernest is highest tier in my mind, even more than Robin or Gene but that's just my opinion.
Dude was crazy 😂
Jim Varney was amazing. R.I.P.
Just got done watching every Ernest movie, one each day. Great experience to relive that and even watch the ones I never saw as a kid. I mostly just watched Goes to Jail and Scared Stupid.
"What scares me is he is a-actually gainin' weight." I die at that part everytime...and for the life of me I don't know why.
"The Big book, 2nd Condominiums...."
RUTH! Awwwwww Ruuuuth!!! 😂😂😂CLASSIC.
R.I.P. Jim Varney Aka Ernest P. Worrell!
Miss you Jimmy
Shame on you Billy Bob.. 😂
It's really clear where Karl from Sling Blade came from. Varney did this character I know as far back as 1979.
