Other than screencaps, the Ernest commercial that started it all (the one that promoted Beach Bend Park over in Bowling Green, KY) remains lost to this very day.
I grew up in Connecticut in the 80s and 90s but I loved Ernest after watching “Ernest Goes to Camp” in the late 80s, and I remember my cousins and I renting “The Ernest Film Festival” from the video store, watching the entire thing and laughing the whole time. Even though his commercials didn’t really reach the North, I do remember a commercial he did for the Town & Country Car Dealership up here where a magic wand turned him into a bikini model who said “Knowwhut I mean??” in his voice 😂 My grandparents got their car there, so they brought me home a paper Ernest mask the dealership was giving out. I wish I still had that mask!
Do you know I just love it so much it's looks like new DVD releases review history books documentary about biography book club fun more information on different types in movie part in class starts at the Disneyland Disney company class starts movie made in USA LA CA on Instagram instead inside of their website
Hell yea that's good stuff❤❤. Being from Kentucky I always grew up with him doing commercials that reached mainly here and Tennessee but I'm glad 1 made it up there😂. And Goes to Camp is definitely my favorite of his as Ernest.
There’s one commercial that was also a PSA I only saw once but never again since. I’d estimate it was about 1988. At the first of the video we see through Vern’s eyes and he’s clearly swaying side to side unsteady as he approaches a car with his key extended, then Ernest appears & says oh no Vern I can’t let you do that come with me to my car. Then as they’re walking away Vern says “oh one last thing, that wasn’t even your car”.
What? I don’t see any similarity whatsoever. Ernest is a character and not a real person. Theo Vonn is a real person. He may alter his personality in the media but it’s not the same.

I thought I saw an excerpt of it on an old news clip. It would be a great find if we could unearth the whole thing, though!
probably on a few vhs tapes, if we knew what channel it was broadcasted on it would make things real easy
Working for a dentist's office and a major soda company simultaneously is the mark of a truly ambitious talent.

I really miss this man. I mean, even if some of the movies were not hits, he was a really funny comedian and that voice is timeless. RIP Jim.
Jim Varney was a national treasure.
I have a few produced in Florida. I will post them when I find them. So far I've updated up two

At 31:00 he did an Anti-smoking PSA. So sad considering Jim Varney died of lung cancer.
I Like Ernest Funny And Hilarious Commercial From The 80s And Early 90s Iconic Pop Culture
He was a character a very funny I miss you 😂👏
Man, what a fuckin' legend.
"Mouth-to-mouth resignation"?! 😂😂😂

(Vern finds a way to go to Saturn.)
Ernest: Hey Vern!
Vern:😫😫😫😫
I always felt sorry for Vern having to deal with Ernest every single day 😖
I miss his upbeat attitude.
30:49 Damn, darkly ironic.
"How are them fries Vern?"
"Happy Holidays" while singing a Christmas song.
Make it make sense.
no fucking way you're getting your knickers in a twist over somebody saying happy holidays 😭 it's 2024 dawg get a grip
This man could sell water to mermaids.
RIP Mr. Jim Varney. The PSA at 30:50 is sadly ironic.
I Remember He did a Commercial for LEWIS Drug Store.
27:04 I still say this, to this day, "All Gone!". I also mention "Mean ol' Mr. Staleness" from another Guys' chip commercial with Ernest.
2:37 "Noted Entremanure"
I know what you mean; you don’t have to keep asking.
I just realized that Theo Von and Ernest seem really similar, I bet he was an inspiration for Theo

Quality Check? I don’t think I’ve seen that brand since 7th grade.
7:06 I could use me a mello yello
The character is way funnier in the commercials. He’s a lot cockier.
And in the films,
the writers try to make Ernest's personality like a real-life Goofy.
31:00 interesting he did the anti smoking commercial and died from lung cancer.
I just found out this actor went to juliard!
Just rolls up in a Supra
15:04 34:38 40:21 21:07

You know what that sound means in Russia Vern? Empty!
Seriously, no Oakhurst commercial

John Cena needs to continue Ernest movies or bio movie
Me gusta mucho esto👍🙌
