    Carrie was a uniquely intelligent and creative woman. Carrie was a rare "one and only"!!! What I appreciate most about Carrie besides her mind is her honesty, genuineness and likability. Carries ability to to comfortably and cleverly describe how she viewed and experienced the world is so very, very, very, very SPECIAL. I believe that everyone wishes they could have shared a slice of time and connection WITH her!!! I know I would have. Carrie is a truly memorable woman!!! Both Debbie and Eddie were absolutely exceptional and their off spring Carrie was destined to be AMAZING in the truest sense!!!
    Enjoy heaven Carrie, Debbie and Eddie!!!!😘

    One of the most honest and brilliant people in Hollywood. What a fantastic person - it's such a shame that she died so soon and that the sadness was too much for her mother. We won't see anyone like her again.

      A clickbait page on FB shared this in a meme where they don't reveal the gender of the caller nor that Fischer laughed and said "uh no" afterward showing it was in jest.
      That actually would make it validly sexist, so people who didn't know the full context were validly expressing their disagreement.
      Immediately it was full of self-described "feminist" women and their male "allies" dogpiling anyone who had a problem with it, showing full support for its contextless sexist version, and even denigrating the caller, thinking they were male and were belittling Fischer by asking the question. 🤣
      It's sad seeing so many who don't want gender equality but want to be the oppressors in a matriarchy.

    I'm very late here, but am enjoying this interview very much. I have loved her since Star Wars, as Princess Leia, and I was just an early teen, maybe 13yo. Then to see the movie Postcards from the Edge, I only watched bc I heard it was based on the book written by her, an a very loose autobiography; but I LOVED it. That when I found out about her great talent as a writer and specifically a writer of dramedies. I have the same dry type of humor. I watched the movie, Postcards, many many times. Then about just before she passed away, I saw the Comedy Special, and it was the BEST. I also grew up not thinking I has enough looks to get me by, to get a boyfriend. So I really hunkered down to study, and get as smart as I could. I ended up having a by-product in the form of a decent personality. 🙃

    This was so good and I want more. This was an interesting point in her career and maturation. I had an urge to write down all the seconds when she tossed off a joke. I feel she was going to say more, but was switched onto the next question a few times. Awww. I suppose I want to forget this so that I can repeat it a year from now and discover her anew. Never forget her though!!!!!!!!!!

    • @Ma_Ba
      @Ma_Ba Рік тому

      In a gazillion You Tube clips, somewhere, Carrie jokingly mentions how much they have in common. Also, Jamie Lee Curtis worked with her daughter, Billie Lourd (Lourde?) in a series before Carrie died. She appeared in promotional interviews with Billie and is affectionate towards her too. There's some similarity to their fathers for them. And their haircuts for a period of time! And JLC talks about her own dishonesty before coming to sobriety, so there's a lot there too.

      Carries drug and alcohol abuse had taken it's toll.
      Such a tragedy. Carrie was another world of special in every possible way. I am just grateful she didn't meet with death at a much earlier age due to the drugs. She lived and became a Mom and has given so much to so many along the way.
      She is in heaven now. 😘

    • @songbirdy
      @songbirdy 7 років тому +4

      No, It was NOT the drugs and alcohol. Those things were long in her past, and I don't recall her ever having a drinking problem by the way. It was more than likely her not taking care of her health, or perhaps she was predisposed to heart problems. We just don't know. But the drugs, at the time of her death, were like 30 years in the past.

    Carrie's memory is not quite correct on Star Wars RoftheJ. If you ever watch that film again (and why would you?) you never see Carrie for more than a second or two at one time. The director said most of her Leia scenes had to be tossed they were so bad because she was so stoned. Also, Leia was supposed to have a short light saber duel with another character (not Vader) but it had to be scrapped because she never showed up to the duel rehearsals. Too bad, it would have been cool. Also, Carrie may have been popping pills, as she says, but her drug of choice was speedball which is cocaine and heroin mixed, snorted or injected. Only the most hardcore addicts do speedballs sooooo....

    • @jessiefox3739
      @jessiefox3739 4 роки тому +3

      If she was injecting why didn't she get HIV/AIDS. I don't believe that she was injecting. I was wondering why in ROTJ Han was made a general right after being unfrozen from carbonate. Shouldn't Leia have been made a general first because she rescued him and brought him back. Leia seems like she was given a big demotion from the Rebel Alliance because she went from communications officer to Han Solo's assistant. Damn Harrison was doing a lot of eye rolling in that movie. I wonder if the eye rolling was directed at her. Although I absolutely love Carrie :D

    massive drug addict. it seems to be rare for an elderly woman to be using such hard drugs and to be mixing them.
    she was speed balling with cocaine Heroin - mix with MDMA and methadone, and some alcohol.
    Dude that is insane. Usually a drug addict that makes it to their 70s have come to terms with their problems and kick the drugs, not Carrie. Not even a young could tolerate that mix
