    Wow wow wow! I just made this this afternoon and it turned out so well. I only had light coconut milk on hand and it was still absolutely delicious. Best mushroom curry is right!

    Hubby and I decided to go vego for the week mainly because we have eaten so much rubbish during covid 19 restrictions. Found this and made even though hubby doesn't like mushrooms. It was delicious nothing left on our plates. WONDERFUL SIMPLY WONDERFUL.

    I had mushrooms in the fridge that I wanted to use so it doesn’t go to waste and I see this - perfect timing! Just made it and it was so delicious! The addition of the red bell pepper is just fantastic! I didn’t add coconut milk and added jaggery instead of sugar - - still a winner! :) Thank you for the recipe.

    Fantastic recipe, easy to prepare although I had to use some dried peas instead of frozen which added a certain mushiness to the dish. Also added a tsp of hot masala curry powder because it just wasn't hot enough for me! Oh, and no sugar!

    If you want to get the remains out of your liquidiser if you put the water in liquidiser. Then put it back onto the machine and give it a quickly blitz you will get all the contents of your blender a lot less hassle. I am making a recipe today but dinner I've always got frozen peas and I always seem to have mushrooms. Really getting stuck for meal ideas at the minute so it's a total blessing.

    apres avoir passé 1mois en inde, je tente cette recette que j'avais adoré a udaipur, ce curry est delicieux tel quel, j'ai rien changé (sauf couper les champignons un peu moins fins), meilleur le lendemain (comme souvent pour tous les plats en sauce).. il ne me reste plus qu'a trouver un curry tomate oignon quelque part ! merci pour cette recette !

    Hi Chetna thank you for another great recipe. I am going to try this tomorrow! Could you please explain why the mushrooms must be washed in cold water first? I learned not to do that just clean a little bit not put it in water because they will get mushy before you use them for cooking looking forward to your reaction Best regards Janneke

      Yes, watering mushrooms is a no no as it dilutes their lovely taste. Simply wipe clean if needed. Also please use the stalks, they are delicious. Still a very tasty recipe Chetna.

    I'm going to steal this concept, but use a totally different methodology to cook it, so more happens in parallel and there'll be more umami in the end result.

    Looks rather bland, to be honest, I prefer my curries to be super-duper hot. Try adding Mr Naga hot pickle to spice it up a bit.
