I recently heard using the question “How is this the best thing that’s ever happened to me?” when anything bad happens to you is a great way to reframe thoughts

I’m working on my doctor of clinical psychology degree and I want to tell you know much I appreciate your videos - they help me to explain complex psychological concepts to my clients in ways that are really accessible and help me to think about things in different ways myself. I’m working on my dissertation which is looking at the impact of trauma on cognition and incorporating some positive psychology theories. I am trying to do it in a way that doesn’t spread toxic positivity and the ‘choosing your meaning’ concept you talked about in this video helped me to clarify the idea behind what i have found in my research so far - there should never be an obligation to grow from trauma, but humans are meaning making creatures and the way we conceptualize what has happened to us and how it shapes us matters. Thank you 💜

I've trained my brain to "not now". Took a decent amount of self-discipline and training but I've learned to think myself down from panic attacks because of it. Never heard of overwhelming mindfulness before but the concept makes 100% sense.

Thank you for talking about growing up experiencing the judgmental way people think. My friend always use the "no one is thinking about or judging you" point of view, but I grew up with people always doing exactly that and also voicing their judgment. I am still living with one. So adopting that "no one is judging me, they are too focused on themselves"-mindset is basically impossible for me.

Coming up with empowering reasons for difficult situations is so good for being able to see the value in these situations and start to grow from them ✨

oooo i love love love "how can i make ___ a little more magical?" I've never heard that concept phrased that way and i will absolutely be thinking about that and asking that throughout my day. thanks for sharing!

“What you focus on grows” totally true and have test it out in both positive and negative ways, that’s when i learn this, but hearing hits really different. Thank you

Im not a toys mama. You connect with your child in your way. I like to go thrift and so does my 5yr old son, we have been bonding like that since he was one. Thrift and cake is so fun!
And my 3yr old son likes to paint, that I can do! 😄
You can have children if you want or dont. Just wanted to tell you that kids dont need hours of play with toys with you. They can and should play by themselves too 😊👍

Full of wisdom as usual. Being with judgemental people depletes my energy and at times I hear myself make judgement comments and feel unhappy with my poor behaviour once I’m alone.

OOF the post-judgement self-judgement is reaaal, if I'm harsh on myself for anything it's being unkind or judgemental - such an awful feeling but gotta have self-compassion, we're only human

    Hey Muchelle!
You're so good at following through on your projects and keeping yourself on track- have you got any productivity/mindset tips for getting yourself out of a rut with a project when you've got overwhelmed and mentally hit a wall with it? I think a lot of us are great at starting things and achieve tons with that initial rush and then run out of steam and struggle to drag ourselves to the finish line. Cheers!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I have one question though: what's the best way you've found to make thinking habits actionable? I do a morning meditation or write down the ideas I'm trying to make habitual everyday at some point, I think it works pretty well. I'm wondering if you have any other ideas for making these things stick in your brain, since "shift my entire mentality" is not exactly something you can just add to your to-do list lol

@@muchelleb Yess, I would love to hear about some tips to actually remind yourself to refram your thoughts. I always have the intention to do it, but when it comes to it and I have a thought I don't actually remember to reframe it and end up doing the same as always. I have the same with my bounce back lists, I want to implement them, but when I actually needs a bounce back, I don't open the lists to action on them.

YES I’m glad you pointed out how dismissive the whole “people aren’t thinking about you” comment is. These people have clearly never heard of bullying, particularly in school. Kids absolutely go out of their way to pick on other kids for their looks and behaviors, as well as some adults.

I want to give super constructive feedback. Can you take it slower? Or do you pursue 10-15min videos for a reason? Maybe the algo? Anywho! I've been loving and binging on your content lately, but I really, really struggle to follow along because you speak too fast, yet I want to follow along because you give so much useful info. I have to pause, go back, take notes, go back and it's a bit exhausting. really. Especially think of us for whom English is not our first language. Thank you.
