Also the line “you don’t get to choose what people call you” foreshadows Jennifer being called She Hulk which, according to one of the teasers, she really doesn’t care for.

I loved nearly the entire episode. I felt a little unsatisfied with the end in the court room, but that just feels like the editing.

Agreed. I thought it was great but that's the lamest fight scene ever. The flying kick was well done, she doesn't look like she's on wires or anything, but, one punch and it's done? Great start though. I expect all the cgi means a few eps will be less exciting but I thought it was great. Anddddd.....I'm engaged to a Jennifer so that's cool too 😁

I never laughed out loud, but I was smiling the whole show. Performances were good all around. Maybe CGI is not up to Avengers movie standards, but it was consistent enough that I got used to it after only a few moments. Overall - thumbs up!
I hardly ever laugh at jokes unless I think it’s extremely funny, the post credit scene made me roll laughing for example, but usually even if I find something funny I won’t laugh
Professor Hulk is the one that looked Movie Quality CGI.
I personally think the hulk looked more realistic than ever in this.

I like that the Hulk is starting to show stubble it's like hinting at a possibility for Maestro!
they put stubnle in Hulk since like the forst avenger Movie, though it is less noticeable since they usually match how grown the stubble of hulk with how muvh stubble has Banner is on his face before hulking out

The end credits scene about captain America was absolutely amazing
Definitely a Hulk SMASH Hit!!! My only gripe? The gamma blood exchange happened so quickly, I had to rewind it at least 5 times! I was like huh?
That scene would've made more since if it was more bloody.
I just don't know how much more would be too much.
I LOVED it! It was hilarious and got me laughing like a mental man a bunch of times lol! The Post Credits Scene was so unexpected but so funny
It was fun, and they did a great job improving the CGI compared to the trailers.

A really great first episode. The writing and the performances were fantastic. I think they both looked really good. Awesome banter. I laughed many times. I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series.
The writing was terrible. Just more cringy woke bullshit. She spends every minute with Bruce belittling him and his experiences, and acts like her being catcalled and listening to "mansplaining" is remotely comparable to Bruce being abused as a child, hunted, tortured, enslaved and forced to fight as a gladiator, and trying to end his own life. Short episode and a good chunk of it is spent showing how toxic masculinity is. Yeah "fantastic writing". I wouldn't be surprised if the viewership for the 2nd episode is lower than the 1st. I was so excited for this show, and the only reason Im going to try to stick with it is to see Hulks arc furthered, and to see Daredevil

I really enjoyed the episode. My main gripe was that the sicarian ship was clearly there for hulk. It caused the accident and then what? It just disappeared?
Totally get that it’s not important for She-Hulk, however it just ignores it completely

It probably landed and Bruce was hiding that he had already received their message. The car was trashed. How do you think they got to Mexico? They hitched a ride on the Sicarian shop while Jennifer was passed out.

Bruce said hes gonna deal with it so it'll prob be later in the series or we might get something hulk based to explain

A little theory I had come to mind while watching the episode.
Bruce was exposed to a lot of Gamma radiation in order to attain his Hulk powers. It makes sense that in an effort to protect himself… in a similar way that Mark created Steven in Moon Knight… that his mind would partition off part of his psyche to help him survive the pain. This then manifested as The Hulk… a being full of rage and pain.
Jennifer, on the other hand, didn’t have to go through such trauma (car crash aside), and thus wouldn’t need to create a new persona… so she’s fully in control of her powers from the get-go as she doesn’t need to fight for control.
And in the Infinity War deleted scene, he made peace with his two personalities, hence "Smart Hulk."
@@stevengrantofthegiftshop1549 Well, it was in the timeskip during Endgame, but yes. It took him that amount of intermingling and therapy to allow both sides to exist in a sort-of harmony.
However, I was referring more to when he first gained the Hulk powers as opposed to 10 years down the line, since Jennifer only just received her powers.
In some versions of the comics, Bruce was severely abused as a child and already had DID before the experiment. His split personality became the rage monster.

The difference is that you’ve only seen the first episode and already are thinking about how the show ends instead of thinking about what’s to come in the next episode. Are you only curious how the show ends because you want to see a tease of the next hulk project?
I absolutely loved this first episode so much... It was great seeing the Hulk and I loved the fun chemistry Tatiana Maslany and Mark Ruffalo had with each other, I can't wait to see the rest of this amazing series...
definitely i LOVED it !!! just hilarious and with Jennifer Walters breaking the 4th wall at the start of the episode and towards the end and everything , just absolutely amazing stuff, and i can't wait for the rest of the series to unfold and gradually build towards a World War Hulk movie given that the whole Sakarrian ship thing happened
im shocked warren didnt pick up on the tv show hulk where a car accident also turned him into the hulk even jennifer was wearing similar clothes and she did a similar push of the wheel barrell and that she got really thirsty and hungry like he did once he turned back to david and that bruce's mix of him and the hulk scream telling jennifer to "run" was a nice callback to the tv show too as david did that a few times ....loved this episode alot

I loved this episode. Yes, it felt short and that fight with Titania felt too early, however I expect them to meet again during next episodes. Definitely a 10/10 for me (maybe a 9/10, bc the episode was short).
But we get nine episodes so we have time to learn more.
@@Kolnerbigblue Yeah, I guess you're right. In addition I think that it would've been better for all Disney+ show that we have seen to get 9 episodes per season, except maybe Loki, Moon Knight and I am Groot (but I still would've loved to see more episodes of him).

Loved that they put a she hulk Vs hulk fight. She was one of my favourite characters in marvel Vs capcom 3!
People are saying the She-Hulk being cat called is not realistic and never happens, but i’ve seen multiple times while working in fast food my co-workers get winked at but older guys and feel really uncomfortable with people and harass them, so yeah it happens
I think the first time Jennifer changes after being cut and having Bruce’s blood enter her bloodstream, she actually is the full Hulk form and not the one we see through the episode, one because the grunts and roars were much more primal, and we don’t get to see her face without the distortion in the reflection of the car door. I think we may see at the tail end of the series (possibly the final mid/end credits scene).
What I think the point they’re making about Jen’s ability to control herself reflected in how she has traversed life in the patriarchal system.
Overall great opener, but I put money on Jennifer has the primal Hulk in her and that’s when she’ll need to go back to Bruce for advice, but hopefully not before we see Bruce/Smart Hulk knock out a fully Hulked out Jennifer. 🤞🏽
i agree i dont think she has the full control and youre right she was bigger and looked more hulk like in the face her shirt had alot of more rips and tears than her she hulk form we see later in the court room

That post-credit scene was awesome. I laughed so hard on Steve Roger's Virginity Joke. I like it so much.
I really hope it's Skaar and Caiera that are on that ship, needing the Hulk's help because the Hulk's other son Hiro Kala has full absorbed the power of the Old Strong (an energy source on par with the power Cosmic) and is rulling over Sakaar with an iron fist. And that's how we get the Planet Hulk disney+series or movie leading to a World War Hulk event in Phase 6.

I dont think he's been back to Sakaar.
When he merged both personalities, it would make sense that he retained Hulks memories as well.

The show is off to a pretty good start. My only complaint is that Jennifer having no initial drawback or hurdle when turning falls kinda flat FOR ME. it'd be more interesting if maybe she has a more hairline trigger for shifting but because of all of the hiding of emotions she as a woman goes through she can pull herself back with noone to pull her. And with mastery begins to shift at will. Given her a hero arc as well as a power arc.
someone else in the comments here said the shehulk she first turns into is a much more primal and bigger she hulk because the roars and growls are much more primal ...i think bruce mentioned the different emotions will be a factor in her type of hulk she will be become , i think theyll call back to this and she'll go unhinged and become a savage she hulk which did happen in her comics
There are still more episodes to come chill. She's already mentioned that sexism and catcalling from people are the problems that she faces. Maybe there are more problems that she faces and more flaws in her character that she'll overcome.

I LOVED IT. The rhythm to the movie is just right! It sucks you in to the point you rewind just to make sure you saw or heard right. Amazing 🙌

This show was amazing. I also agree when the hulk showed off his thunder slap. Very very good. My Favorite part was when Bruce as the hulk testing his cousin, non-stop as when she was sleeping he slowly brings in a horn. So funny.

This episode was okay. I still like it, however, some parts were a little hallmarky and to much on the nose. But, I do love the interactions between Bruce Banner & Jennifer Walter's relationship as cousins. It feels so cool and relatable. She's also not a Mary Sue and it doesn't feel as people say now a days, "woke." It also feels refreshing, because superhero shows/movies *Marvel or DC* can have the cliche good vs evil etc, and just seeing Jennifer Walter's character just wanting to be a lawyer is interesting. Plus, I love Tatiana Mansley as an actress! She was excellent in Orphan Black! I'll rate this episode a 7/10. Looking forward to more episodes and see what else is in store! Regardless, thanks for the review/breakdown 🙏🏽 💪 👏

The reason why the sakaar ship didn't capture Banner right there:
He was in Hulk form the entire time he was on Sakaar so nobody knew he was a human. Hulk resides in Banner so they were able to trace him to Banner but upon seeing it's a human,whoever is on the ship might think the tracker was faulty thereby continuing elsewhere. But I think they'll trace back to Bruce again and this time they see Smart Hulk instead and capture him for the grandmaster. Same applies to if they wanted to give hulk a message. Like " that's not the grandmaster's champion,let's bounce"

This felt like a legitimate MCU film/show unlike most Disney+ shows. I like the Wolverine Easter Egg they showed as well in the lab. I think another Easter Egg is She-Hulks diplomas u see at the beginning r from University of California, setting up once more that they are heading towards a West Coast Avengers lineup of Wonder Man, White Vision, War Machine, Shang-Chi, etc. that, hopefully, in Armor Wars, is ran by none other then Norman Osborne

A decent first episode, Was slightly bummed at how quick she was able to master her new abilities, but as someone else mentioned, she was only exposed to a fraction of what Bruce was. Still, I would have liked her to be slightly less skilled and in control initially, until we see in the final few episodes her come to fully master her abilities. Or at least make their time in Mexico cover a longer period of time in universe, So that her control of her abilities is explained.
I love the F bomb at the end of the post credit scene 😂😂😂

It was a fairly enjoyable episode not something to get hyped up about but it's enjoyable enough to watch the other episodes.
Man my mind was blown I loved it it was funny asf seeing iron man's old helmet was a tear jerker and my I lost my mind when the whos that girl song came on can't wait for more also feek bad for how lonely bruce has been lately

I loved the first episode of She-hulk it's so great! My husband and I felt like this one of the most marvel feel shows since Loki. It's so good. The fact that people are saying it gets better. I'm so excited it 🙌😁
I am really loving this show, just like all thr others. My favorite scenes were the crash and the fight scene with Hulk and She-Hulk. I really hope we will get World War Hulk for phase 6, since we have those empty release dates, and that maybe Dr. Doom makes a cameo or something.

Good thing they said that their blood type is very rare to become a Hulk in the MCU, otherwise there could be thousands of Hulks out there, if scientists got a hold of more of Bruce's blood, and not just a few like Abomination, Leader and Hulk / She-Hulk, plus Hulk's sons. Did I miss a few, as yes, Rick Jones in the comics was a teen Hulk. Rick Jones was a friend of Bruce from the Hulk origin in the comics.

Let me first of all say that I never knew anything at all about Oscar Isaac eating hot Cheetos with chopsticks.
This episode was a total blast to me I think it's the best first episode of a Disney plus series. It also strikes a big emotional chord in me. First handful of Disney Plus MCU shows we're always watched by me and my sister together.
If she were still around (living) she would have laughed her head off at the scene in the car with the Cheetos and chopsticks. I can just hear her voice as she would turn to me and say that's you! I don't know how long Oscar Isaac has been eating hot Cheetos with chopsticks but I have been eating hot Cheetos and other chips with chopsticks for over 10 years literally!
So when he said Cheetos and chopsticks I laughed out loud but then cried because she wasn't around to see it.
