    I have to give you a lot of credit; this is the best short pitch training video I’ve ever seen. Many thanks and keep the good work!

    Biggest improvement i made to my game last year was practicing shots from about 115 yard's and less on a disused football pitch at the back of my home. My scoring tumbled as a result and so did my handicap now 3.4. unfortunately it's now been fenced off ready for development building a couple of houses. Going to miss it, but hopefully I've ingrained the feeling i practiced. My grandson has started playing, we go to a local par 3 course I've explained to him that shots 125 yards in will help you more with scoring and getting handicap down than bashing balls at the driving range. I've had days where my ball striking has been dreadful yet scored well because of lots of this type of practice, this is the fastest way to get ones handicap down fast

    Apparently i was always under the wrong assumption that feet shoulders and club path were supposed to be parallel on every shot. Can't wait to try this. How about a video about correcting straight pulls and pull hooks. When I hit the ball good, it's dead straight down the middle. But when I'm off. I get the worst pulls and pull hooks and when I try to correct it, I overcompensate and push slice it.

    This is my biggest weakness right now. Up and down from 50-100 yds is barely 10% with a 6 hcp. I totally forgot about this system and need to relearn my distances.

    Good review for me. Lack of play took its toll on my approach game. Find myself trying to scoop the ball into the air and coming up 3-5 yards short of green. Thanks

    Alex, thank you! I cannot wait to get to the range and try this out. Particularly the feet and shoulder set up. Hopefully, I can get the ball heading at the pin, and not just the green.

    I feel more comfortable standing open and think this is good instructions.
    I find it interesting that a lot of pros are now choosing to stand closed. Cam Smith and Patrick Reed are 2 who do this and I saw a couple on the European tour also standing closed.

    Our course has gone from boggy mud to hard green in 2 weeks. I lost all confidence in distance - I saw this video went to the course on 2 evenings, practices the set-up and recorded my distances for the 3 positions. My last two rounds I’ve stood over 30-90 yard shots with loads of confidence. With the confidence I commit and the club to ball makes that gorgeous sound and finishes on the green with a chance to drop the putt…my main point is always to keep weight on front foot (you don’t major on this in the video but I find this stops all the fats and thins). Thanks so much for the direction…⛳️

    is the club face pointing at target or is it open?

    Question Alex of the 3 different swings at what distance should we use what type of swing as this is where I make my biggest mistakes is by misjudging distances since I don't use a viewfinder or any gadgets I just go by distance posts that are on golf course.

    • @AlexElliottGolf
      @AlexElliottGolf  Місяць тому

      I would let the club decided so work out how far they go for that club using the positions.
      But as a tough guide i would say 40 - 110 yards

    It might be the angle of the camera but did you move the ball closer to your lead foot for the 2nd and 3rd shot? Should it move forward or stay roughly in the same place in the stance for every swing type? Great video, thank you!

    At set up, are hands and club grip in front of the golf ball? Shaft lean.

    Alex, my grandson is just now taking up golf. He is 18 and got his first set of clubs yesterday . What is the most important shot he should work on first. I told him he needs to develop accuracy and distance will come later. It seems most new golfers try to hit it far without first developing basic skills, such as chipping , pitching and putting. Am I wrong?

    • @AlexElliottGolf

      You are spot on; i wouldn’t even bother with driver yet too! I would start work irons and get comfortable with them !

  • @rw_golf6387

    All good stuff but this assumes you have mastered a consistent strike. That’s a big assumption for most amateurs especially as the loft increases. 😊

    • @chrisburton7776
      @chrisburton7776 14 днів тому

      Keep your weight on the front foot - Alex says this but it is very quick and easy to miss - and swing smooth with COMMITMENT
