    When reviewing the Palisades vs the Telluride, I find that there are significant advantages that the Palisades has over the Telluride. Hyundia has paddle shifters, Kia doesn't. Big advantage when needing more power. Kia's fob subscription is free for 1yr, Hyundia is free for 3yrs. Kia's 3rd row is manual, Hyundia is power. Hyundia offers 3yr/36K free complimentary service, Kia has no free service. Lastly, Palisade offers 2nd row heated and ventilated seats, Kia doesn't. Kia dealers are adding a $5-8K premium on the Telluride's MSRP whereas, Hyundia is getting the MSRP or below. Big difference when viewing value vs price.
    Overall, the Palisade is a more luxurious vehicle although the Telluride is very close. After much research and trips to each dealership, the Palisade is my choice.

      Almost everything here is spot on, but personal preference. For example even those the Palisade has electric 3rd row fold, it's SLOW. Yea, a button is nice but it takes 10-12 seconds to fold them, vs just pulling a tether and down they go. Same going up. Next, Telluride has more cargo room. It's not much, but noticeable when you load anything in the back or have taller passengers in the back and headroom is to show for it. Third, If you get the tow package the palisade does not hide it at all. It's out of place and is just like 1995 chevy blazer, stick out in your face, tubular structure just hanging there. The Telluride is much subtle and looks like it's made to be there vs an after thought. Both vehicles can get heat/vent seats in front and second row, so that is incorrect. Fourth is on shifters. It's the same transmission in both and they do not shift any different between the two. So whether the shifting by paddles on the steering wheel or on the console shifter the quickness and response is the same with the touch of the button/s. And the markup is dealer and location. There are no dealers in 150 miles of me that do markup on orders of either. And both of them that are on lot do get the markup. So it's a wash in my location.

      They are sister companies with near identical warranties; heck, these vehicles even use the same chassis. MSRP sale is dealer specific--Kia dealer near me sells at MSRP. I don't care for paddle shifters; I prefer Kia's gear shifter. You can upgrade to Prestige package to get most of the other bells and whistles you referenced, but then the prices are about the same between the two. Hyundai definitely wins with the power 3rd row seats (for putting up and down). Hyundai is also slightly safer; about the only midsize suv 5* safety across all categories. Still, most of these come down to preference.

      My issue with the Palisade is just the exterior style-looks like yet another ordinary car-kind of a Nissan-like grill design. The Telluride looks more rugged and truck-like, more along the lines of a Land Rover or International Scout. I do prefer the Palisade interior-just want that in the Telluride exterior. Would like the pushbutton transmission just to free up the space on the console.

    Had a ‘14 Toyota Highlander that was hands down the best all around vehicle I’ve ever owned and at 68 have had my share. Was really interested in the new 2020 redesigned model but was disappointed when I drove it . The interior felt more cramped then the older version and my suspicions were confirmed when I realized they had take 2.5 inches of front leg room away! In addition there was no height adjustment for the front passenger seat and tall people nearly hit their head on the headliner. Back seat felt cramped as well as my knees were up against the front seats. I bought the Palisade Limited because it was just a better value on every level. Have had it 10 months now and have had no problems.

    I took a Telluride for a drive last week and basically ready to sign for an SX Limited Night Sky (Canadian) in Sangria. But the Palisade’s power folding third row, marginally better stereo, and arguably nicer dash/gauge cluster, plus that fantastic shade of blue they offer make the decision much tougher!

    For some reason, in pictures and videos, the Telluride looks so much nicer. But if you see the highest end Telluride and Palisade side by side in person, the Palisade is so much more eye catching. And if you test drive them both, it's definitely the Palisade taking the win inside and out. We went with the hyper white calligraphy for my wife and it looks like pure royalty. Can you please say honestly how Hyundai Palisade v6 gdi engine is? Is this very good quality v6 engine? Will this engine run 500k to 600k km? I want to know because I have a confusion to choose from Hyundai Palisade V6, Volkswagen Atlas sel V6, and Honda Pilot Elite V6, please give me the right information because I want to choose a V6 car which will run perfectly 500k to 600k km without any big issues...

    • @WhollySchiit
      @WhollySchiit 2 роки тому +1

      @@KnowTheNewOfficial So, NA V6 engine cars I have/had includes Lexus, Cadillac, Acura, Hyundai. I never had VW, but Audi A6 had a lot of issues. If you are going for longevity, I would avoid VW. Lexus RX350 drives nice, but I feel it is little under-powered. I had so much fun in Cadillac, but I don't think the engine was very reliable. I hated my V6 Hyundai Sonata back in 2007, which I traded after only 3 months of riding it. I change my cars often, so I can't really speak for longevity, but I am very satisfied with my Palisade for good amount of power and fuel efficiency. It also has 10 year warranty, so I suppose they do make a pretty reliable engine as long as you maintain it right. Having an Acura MDX, I would not recommend Honda. I generally had not much luck with European, so I would avoid Atlas. If I am in your shoes, my comparison will be between Highlander v6 vs Palisade V6. For me, the reason why I got 7 seater is due to my kids as I become a father. My son loves to drink and eat in the car and I am not worried too much about what he does in my Palisade. After all, it is a pretty cheap car and gives you a lot more compared to other brands. Oh, one sacrifice is that it lacks some convenient features such as full auto second row windows control, but I can't complain at this price point. It comes with second row heated and cooled seats but not the auto windows control. lol. The self driving feature is pretty amazing. Not as good as Tesla for sure, but it gives you enough time to play what you want to watch on UA-cam.

    We made the mistake of buying a SEL Premium 2021 Atlas. Loved it and chose it over the others for several reasons. Well 2 weeks in it was already in the shop. Evaporative Pump and front sway bars were replaced. A few weeks later in the shop for water leak from pano. 10 days after that back in for the water leak. It's been in the shop for the last 3 weeks now. Total time in the shop in 2.5 months of ownership- 25 days and counting. 5 more days and its Lemon Lawed. Already have a lawyer ready with the paperwork and VW Customer care is sorry though so there's that. I will be getting the Toyota Highlander Hybrid Platinum. It's smaller but won't have all the problems and will hold its resale value. Great fuel mileage will be nice too. I am posting everywhere I can to warn off potential Atlas customers. That's true. They are in such high demand that dealers have the ability to charge that premium. The vehicle itself is more important than the dealer though. Luckily there is another dealer near me with better ratings I'll probably go to for service.

      I can’t make a solid claim to any of these engines running that long. Just based on history I would say your best bet wouldn’t the Highlander by a long shot, followed by the Honda. Not to say the Kia or Hyundai couldn’t go that long, but historically speaking if you need a long running engine you buy a Toyota.

    I was not a big fan of older Highlander design but the new one looks good. I sat in it and didn’t feel much of a difference from Rav4 in space.
    Honda pilot touring design looked basic but loved the way it drives and spacious it is compared to Highlander. For some reason the Black edition feels aggressive then the other models. I am picking up my 2021 Black edition pilot by end of this month. I was able to shave 6K off msrp. And If it wasn’t for black edition, I wouldn’t have bought the pilot.

    In the market here for a mid-size SUV. Just test drove a 2021 Telluride and a demo 2020 Hylander with low miles. The rides were identical with these two and both were excellent. The Kia feels like a bigger car and that may not be the best for me in tight parking situations. The screens / infotainment systems were both great. Both accelerated beautifully but the Toyota seemed to have just a bit more power. Both excellent transmissions. I test drove a Pilot too, same vintage and found the ride not as good as the Toyota or the Kia. The slant of the screen in the Pilot dash may be dated and the screen slant may have glare issues. The Kia and Toyota cabins were noticeably quieter than the Pilot's. However, Pilots have the Honda band name and therefore maintain their demand and value. The Kia and Pilot both win the race in terms of space. If I want a Kia I have to pay more than the MRSP. I do not want to pay mid 40s when I don't have to.
