Replacing the minivan for the last decade, the midsize 3-row crossover is the family car of choice in America. The #KiaTelluride has been a hot seller since coming onto the scene last year, while the #ToyotaHighlander was one of the very first entries in this hugely crowded segment. For 2020, the #Highlander gets a complete makeover but did #Toyota make enough changes to steal some of the swag that #Kia has given the #TellurideSX? - Авто та транспорт
The Telluride/Palisade twins are two of the HOTTEST crossovers on the market right now. Even during this pandemic, dealers can't keep them in stock and sell them for MSRP or more. We've been looking forward to pitting our favorite family car against the new Highlander since we drove them. After watching, let us know below if you are team Telluride or team Highlander!
Toyota missed the mark pretty bad. What was the point? This isn't a 3-row crossover if you don't have a useable 3rd row. Just another fleet vehicle box checker.
Redline Reviews team telluride! I own one that’s black with black rims and tint! Loveeee it! Top model! Close to 64,000 after upgrades like under coat protection etcetera!
Team Telluride all the way!
I’m voting Telluride although, personally, I do prefer the Hyundai twin. Excellent comparison video, as always Thanks Sofyan!
PLEASE tell Kia and Toyota to offer a BENCH SEAT in the TOP TRIM! Explorer is the only mainstream brand to let me have a bench seat in their top trim, but I'd rather get one of these two. Interestingly, in the Highlander, the bench seat (also not available in top trim) is HARD AS A BRICK in the center section where the 3rd person would sit. Very bad design.
Own both brands, Toyota wins in longevity and resale. Kia has more space. Love styling on both SUVs. I don’t need the third row, I would take the Toyota.
The telluride looks beautiful in person. My first car was a Kia, honestly with Kia stepping up I wouldn’t mind getting another Kia.
Yes I'm in so in love with Kia since the Forte
Kia/Hyundai been stepped it up. People just been sleeping on them.
I have the Sorento Platinum for the family and a VW for myself. Going to trade in the VW for a Stinger soon, and in a couple of years the Sorento for the new one. Love Kia's designs and quality. Just a shame we are never going to get the Telluride here in Australia
@@andrew.woolman7449 you will have to wait a year or two for the markups to stop. They cannot keep the telluride in stock, so of course they mark it up. Its called "supply and demand". It is still a Kia. And Kias are now some of the best cars out there.
Last May I bought a new 2019 Kia Optima EX 1.6T. My daily roundtrip commute is 125 miles. Between that and regular errands and trips, I've already put over 34,000 miles on it. Let me tell you, there has been NO issues. Not one rattle or squeak in the interior. Every mechanism works without fail or hiccup. And the ride is luxury car smooth and quiet. The seats are wonderful and the roominess is outrageous. My point is..if anyone's ever had doubts about Kia quality, get those doubts out of your head. Kia's service department is top-notch!! Regular maintenance is performed quickly and cheap. Last time I went, I sat in the Telluride to see how it was inside. I basically sat in it the whole time my car was serviced. It was so nice, comfy, and roomy. I truly felt I was in a luxury SUV. It felt better than the Lexus RX I used to have. The Telluride will be my next vehicle.
Kia is designed for the dump. Which is 150, 000 km after that u gotta spend lije 10K to keep it alive for another 250K km.
I had 120k on my kia before I traded it in. Zero issues as well. Loved it. People just hate because the name and how they were made 20 years ago or haven't been in one to experience it. I can honestly say with my optima and now my sorento with 55k miles and no problems. I will only buy kia from here on out.
@@brayan8346 They had gotten better by 2019, the year I bought mine. The plant moved, and new people started working. The car had also gotten reworked after the 2016. I currently have 75,000 miles and still no issues. The biggest surprise has been no rattles or creaks or leaks as of yet. The only reason I will not buy another Kia, though, is their dealership practices. When I saw they upcharged the Telluride $3995 over sticker JUST because it was "too much of a bargain" they lost me.
@@brayan8346 I've owned a few Toyotas and found them to be great at what they're built to do...give decades of reliable and dependable driving. I'd never put Kia above Toyota for that. Matter of fact, I will buy a Toyota afterward. Just waiting for the RAV4 to have its mid-model redo. I've had Hondas that all rattled after 8000 miles, albeit I lived in NY where the streets weren't good at the time. Lately, Honda has been having electrical issues.
But can it reach 150,000 and up.
My Tacoma went up to 363,000 with no major repairs.
Toyota is a legendary brand,I respect ✊ them a lot, but in this segment Kia is the clear winner.
don't care for either. cost difference between the inflated price of Kia Telli and the Lexus RX350 has narrowed. would rather have the Lexus for @ $4K more.
@Don G
That’s a really good point 🤗
Don G and you’d have an empty can for a car, pretty much
@Paul Yun Enjoy your Telluride lease, you'll regret owning one. I know former Hyundai and Kia leasees and owners, and everyone one of them ditched it within 1-2 years. The 10 year warranty is irrelevant. They wont last that long. And even if they did, good luck convincing a dealership, for example, that the powertrain failed from normal wear.
@@SC-or2zb never seen an empty can RX350. The base model is nicely equipped. The initial quality and design of the Telluride might be nice, so I'd recommend it for lease, but not own.
The 2020 KIA Telluride SX is one the most visually pleasing vehicles I have ever seen. And yes, I mean out of all cars. 🤤
I still find the palisade interior way better than the kia
style 20 yeah I can see why some would find the Palisades interior to be better. I completely get that. It’s just not for me. Telluride has the better interior for me.
@@fakedazzleful I agree with the Palisade being better over the Telluride on interior styling, however I personally like the total package of the Telluride.

T. E. L. L. U. R. I. D. E. all day long! Can't afford a car but everytime I see this car, I touch it for good luck. In 2023 I would still want to buy this car.
Speak it into existence my friend and it will happen! I have one and I promise you you won’t ever need another vehicle!
In 2023 Honda will have a new Pilot and that will be the talk in every station!
@@lordsknight4516 have you seen their latest re designs and refreshes? Pitiful. The interiors are plasticky and bland and the newer Hondas have had many reliability issues.
@@lordsknight4516 Honda pilot along with Acura MDX was picked as top 10 worst SUVs to buy in 2020... They are not the Honda of 90s anymore...
Make sure you also save enough money 💰 for repair because it a Kia it will break down a whole lot maybe you'll hate it by then 😉
While I do like the Tellurides exterior design better I prefer the interior on the Highlander and also the fuel economy is a plus trust me even 1 or 2 mpg add up in the long run. But the deal breaker for me in the Telluride is that it's a new vehicle and no history on its life, while Toyota has been making the Highlander since 2001 and most of those are still running solid like a clock.
Pretty sure Toyota realizes that few consumers use the 3rd row for adults in this class. That’s reserved for full sized SUV’s i.e. Land Cruiser, Yukon XL, etc. Toyota did it’s homework and right sized this product.
Telluride, Colorado. Beautiful little town nestled in the mountains!
Palisade, Colorado. A "suburb" of Grand Junction... About 125 miles from Telluride
Expensive*
Highlanders have been reliability kings for years and the resale on Toyota’s in general reflect that. Kia is def upping their game with the Telluride though...long term we’ll see.
The resale value on the Korean brands won't be good years down the road after the Coronavirus SUV bubble pops.
You can't go wrong with most of car brands nowadays, cars aren't investments, so if you're buying a particular brand merely on resale value, then you shouldn't be driving a car in the first place. With that said, my $ goes to Kia for obvious reasons.
all comes down to what’s under the hood and reliability reports 👍
I just bought a 2021 Highlander instead of a Korean built version based on the historic reliability of Toyota’s in general. I expect to keep the Highlander for many years.
I cannot stop looking at the rearview mirror when a Telluride creeps up, those amber DRL lights are such a simple addition yet so unique.
Telluride is the unicorn of Mid size SUV's this year. I absolutely enjoy my telluride inside and out. Nothing has been able to match it thus far. Great review as always.
Thanks for comment - what cars are you familiar with?
Hyundai Palisade??
Telluride hands down! It just stands out against any other SUV! I love it.
ahah I find that funny Kia will forever be unreliable and cheap.. in 15 years or more the highlander will out run it in every way what a useless comment to post.
@@bennaggenda If you need to keep your car for 15 years, then you buy an outdated Toyota with decade old tech... In 15 years, most everyone is moving on to electric vehicles... 😆... And you won't get more than a dime for any 15 yo vehicle regardless of brand... 😆

No arguing the Telluride is a standout in its class and deserves recognition. The Stinger too!
Very good comparison of the two cars (great editing). Thank you.
I had no interest in this segment, but Telluride is the best so far.
No contest, the Telluride definitely wins for me. The Highlander simply looks just like everything else and more “boring” to the eye.
O ok so you go on looks alone you're so smart NOT
I hate the redesigned exterior of the Highlander. Toyota fumbled that one. Even though Toyota sells ALOT of Highlanders, that's mostly because of it's legendary cult like following from the 80 series. The Telluride has the most leg room for any 3 row crossover and it is a handsome exterior design and Kia did a great job on the interior as well. My sister bought a new Telluride and since she has 2 teenage girls, the best feature is Kia put USB ports/chargers on the sides of all the seats which if you have teenage girls, there is nothing worst to deal with in the world when teenage girls cellphones die!!😫
Tjk 92 because of its reliability
@@thoone2746 Looks sell my friend. People don't give a shit about reliability until they are stuck on the freeway waiting for assistance lol

We shall see how the telluride holds up over time. The highlander will age like fine wine.
The Highlander may likely but also might not its a brand new vehicle and Toyota has had their share of problems just like the rest especially now a days with this much competition.. i have owned most of the major brands including Toyota's and they all break
@@joebrown9621 did you change the oil?
Perhaps the only selling point of a Toyota nowadays is peace of mind, knowing that the car will last for what you spent.
The best thing is, the Telluride is one of those cars that looks _even better_ in person. Idk what it is about videos, but it makes the car look a little too bulbous (but of course it's still nowhere near the likes of Highlander / Pilot, and some other competition) but in reality it's very well styled and it is more angular than the camera gives off.
Telluride is ugly. Highlander isn't much better.
@@00_UU ur Ugly
I would say better than Tahoe
@@00_UU I would disagree because Telluride has all lines that make sense and new Highlander lines don't make sense basically it's a deformity It Feels Like a person who design it has some mental illness please take a look at the Highlander design feels like a Down syndrome
1_UW Sales day differently. I was incredibly impressed to see the Palisade (dark purple and loaded) in person.
The highlander looks older than the telluride. Toyota has recently made some of their newer cars look very nice, but they could have done a bit of a better job with the highlander honestly.
toyota doesn't want to cannibalize their Lexus RX.
True Kia definitely has the lander in the looks!!
Highlander side panel is ugly and Subaru grill is just as bad .... what were they thinking ?
Probably cause they've sat up top for so long that they've gotten lazier in designing cars. Hopefully, pressure from the Koreans(Kia/Hyundai, same company) are gonna spice things up and cause Toyota to redesign their cars....as well as their infotainment system. Toyota's are indeed reliable for the most part but in this day an age where other car manufacturers are offering things that use to be luxury before, Toyota starting to seem more outdated, but Toyota always has gone with the don't fix it if it ain't broken
Yes it looks dated . I love the looks of the teluride
I'm not 100% sold on the Telluride. Only time will tell on reliability. As far as my money, I would purchase the Highlander due to it's long history of reliability.
Yeah me too..highlander is bulletproof..GDI engines on kia is prone to carbon build up on the intake valves which means requiring more maintenance
I just bought 2 Toyota
I’m very happy I did the right choice,
It’s like airplane, very quiet and smooth ride,
I used to own Germany cars,
But not anymore,
Only Toyota for me from now on,
I bought 2 Toyota in one month

2020 Highlander platinum hybrid 0 miles ,
And I paid 53k out the door,
White pearl exterior & caramel interior
Good luck guys,
Scott Song funny enough, there was a recent survey put Kia on top of Toyota. I think it was for reliability, so it seems Toyota has been sleeping for a while. I also gave my wife a new Kia Niro hybrid due to better economy than a Toyota, too.
We have a 2011 Highlander with 165k miles, and never even one code. Toyotas are bullit proof. We went with a 2020 Highlander Platinum and kept our 2011 too.

Telluride is newer, cooler looking, better options, bigger, more practical, better warranty... There you have it folks. Telluride is the better options between these two Asian cars.
Isaac Kamau that’s a very subjective view
Cheaper too
Lmao, Highlander is a Toyota. Did you forget?
im here to see the KIA, technically...
and basically, KIA is a better car
“But it’s still a Kia!!!!!!!!!!!”
Ron Go12 not from what I’ve read and heard, those tellurides are giving lots of problems already. I wouldn’t give looks for reliability
Ron Go12 I think you might of misunderstood my comment. I wasn’t poking fun at KIA, I was simply joking by quoting a famous quote used to make someone or something feel inferior... but I do know that KIA isn’t what it used to be
Ron Go12 but it’s still a kia
The Telluride is as promised. I just received a call today reminding me that it is my one year anniversary from the date of purchase. One year and I love it as much today as the day I drove it off of the lot. Great vehicle!
my family had always been a die hard toyota family. all our cars used to be japanese. but since we got our 2013 hyundai sonata, we have had 3 hyundais and 2 kias. we love all our korean cars but my dad got a new camry back in 2017. he has buyer's remorse. he wishes he had stuck with korean cars. it's amazing to see hyundai/kia improve so much in just about a decade
Toyota has been getting away with the bear minimum in design and technology with their mass produced/best selling cars, while Hyundai/Kia have been more innovative=think Lexus' beginnings. I like to support companies that work hard to get my attention and allow me to get the most with my hard earned money. Toyota's reliability, though, is hard to beat. But Toyota has the opportunity to give us both and they choose not to do that.
Just brought a telluride! Thank you to ur great and informative reviews!!

in about 5 years telluride will win the world's worst vehicle award.
Toyota: Resale value, reliability and modest.
Kia: Design and features.
Both are great...but it's what you want out of it.
"Modest" is subjective. The Kia has a 100k mile warranty. Resale value not applicable because the Kia is 3.5k cheaper so that makes up for that plus the Kia will age much better due to the design that looks years ahead. Both are great, but the Kia is greater. No real disadvantages.
Kia has all those points on the tele.
Iamallwaysright1 I would say your 2018 Kia randomly catching on fire is a real disadvantage: www.consumeraffairs.com/news/hyundai-and-kia-recall-500000-cars-that-could-randomly-catch-fire-030419.html

As far as looks and comfort are concerned the KIA Telluride has the advantage, hands down. When you figure in reliability the Toyota wins the comparison.
I bought the 2021 all Black Telluride Nightfall Edition last week! This is my first SUV and I’m blown away! It’s classy and sporty at the same time! The tech in it is amazing! It’s really fun to drive! Throw it in sport mode and it’s like you’re driving a sports sedan!
I absolutely my Telluride but my best friend has a Highlander and it's very nice too. You can't go wrong with either.
The Kia stands out way more than the Toyota. I'd still learn towards the Toyota because of the reliability, but the Kia is a great package.
Telluride in that white color looks stunning indeed. How the heck did KIA come up with that design out of nowhere!
Lowlands They did not come up with it out of nowhere, they just made smart hiring choices. The lead designer for Kia used to work for Audi. And he did a damn good job with the Telluride!
LOL! I was actually looking for this comment. I seen a lot of Telluride's with the exterior of white. They look Beautiful! My Telluride is Black with Ebony interior and I love it! I think those are the best two colors on it!

These are the two SUVs that are at the top of my list. Glad to see a video that compares them side by side.
Even though i'm a toyota fan, the telluride is a better crossover overall
Crossover?... The Highlander and Telluride are not crossovers... they're considering mid-to-full size SUVs.
I'd like to see a diesel and hybrid version of the Telluride with a more defined Tiger Nose like the upcoming 2021 Sorento.
Toyota Highlander 💪
The blooper part was definitely funny! I’m sure it happens often, a video full of outtakes from other videos would be entertaining
I have the telluride and love everything about it. Great ride and comfort plus turns lots of heads. Get lot of compliments.
The Telluride definitely looks a class above the Highlander just from looking at this video alone, which says much. Also, the 3rd row seating on the Telluride is just way better. He looked so cramped on the Highlander. It's not even close between these two vehicles.
@Der Schwindel The Highlander looks like an angry fish.... Along with the entire Toyota lineup.
I’m 6’1” and I rode in the middle of the highlander with plenty of legroom for me and for the full size adult behind me. What I imagine is going on here is the middle seat on the Toyota can slide further back to give more room to the captains chairs if no one is in the back. There is definitely room for two rows of adults and this video is deceiving on that note.
@derek flint got my wife a telluride about a month ago from a traverse. Well worth the money
@Der Schwindel Telluride looks more like a Range Rover, probably is a consensus best looking SUV out there...
derek flint Kia greatly under estimated the demand for the Telly. I don’t think Kia intended to compete in the luxury market but as you said, Kia is attracting lot of luxury vehicle owners and the the highest demand is the fully loaded trim and not the middle or entry model. It really says lot about what Kia has done with the Telly.
6000 miles on my telly and love it more and more the more i drive it.
As somebody who works on cars, I hate hood struts. They tend to fail prematurely, and when a hood falls on your head it hurts like hell lol
your neighbors are so kind🥺❤️
7:30 I noticed the interior illumination (blue)
I've seen a nighttime review of the Telluride,
and it looks upscale 👍
Yeah and in the SX (just speaking from my own, don’t know if this applies to the lower trims) you can change your interior illumination color from the infotainment screen. Right now my interior glows hot pink at night, but eventually I’ll pick a different color.
I know the highlander has been around for almost 20 years but I prefer the Telluride
Edit: your neighbor looks like hes the nicest person in the world
Aside from probably better reliability, cant think of anything else that makes me want a highlander over the kia.
How about the other neighbor with 2 Type R's Dang they look good!
Yeah, the thing is we can compare the 20 yr old highlander because they are still on the road. As long as you don't buy a hybrid, the highlander could last 30, even 40 yrs. Resale on Toyota is insane. Kbb put the highlander as #1. Tundras with over 200k still go over 10k.
@@danescag4754 my 2009 highlander blew its engine, had a few problems before that. I have 2002 toyota that still running tho. I don't think newer models aren't that reliable tbh. I won't be buying Toyota anymore
I test drove the Kia Telluride. I must say I was very impressed with it.
Lets be honest if the Telluride had a Toyota badge on it, it wouldn't be a question.
Kia is passing Toyota
It’s a shame people are gullible enough to spend all that extra money based on a brand name, when in reality depreciation is gonna be a bitch for just about any family hauler you buy brand new. People who are that pressed about depreciation most likely won’t buy a brand new car, which means they won’t be getting a Telluride anytime soon anyway but yet they still holler about resale in the comments. Meanwhile I’ve been enjoying my SX for a year now, still worth every penny and zero plans to ever trade it in!
@@goodgirl_goneglam6173 honestly, value hasnt dropped much on Telluride to the point it's better to buy brand new... if one can find one at MSRP without markup
@@goodgirl_goneglam6173 The difference is Highlander's and actually most Toyota's hold their value better than any other brand out there because of reliability. Your Kia will be in a junk yard in 10 years meanwhile that Highlander will be barely broken in at 200k miles and still worth a decent penny.
As a Korean we are on the comeup it was embarrassing to be korean like 10 years ago my family didnt even buy korean cars! Now when it comes to features and tech Kia/Hyundai are the epitome of value and they are more reliable
A Korean rocking a Honda profile pic? Alrighty then...🤔🤔
I agree. I have a 2020 Kia Sorento and it is as reliable as any car out there. I also have a 2009 BMW which I love driving, but maintenance costs are atrocious. I can’t wait for Kia to bring the Sorento EV model. That’s something I’ll be waiting for
They had some huge quality issues from 2011-2014 when people think they "turned around". I'm sure this Telluride will last a long time given it uses their V6 which is excellent but their most reliable cars were pumped out between 2002-2010. The Theta II almost ruined all of their progress and if you hear negative stories about a modern Hyundai, it's more than not going to be about a Sonata or Santa Fe with a Theta engine. They have since turned it around but I find it funny people think some of their worst times, quality wise, was when they "turned around". I got a used 2010 Elantra over a 2011 model specifically to avoid anything they made that year and I'm glad I did. For the record, I'm a massive Hyundai/Kia fan but I became a fan because of their 2000s cars as they looked better than Toyota Imho and, had more features, but had very similar quality. I hope they continue that mission throughout the 2020s cuz their new products are so promising and I'm looking forward to upgrading in a couple of years hopefully to another Hyundai barring any future quality scandals.
J High yea ima Honda fan so what? Problem?
The Highlander is more of the same. Even the new explorer looks more modern and that thing is kinda eh. The Kia is great
I love explorers but very disappointed in the new 2020. The price, quality issues, lack of features, and it looking basically the same is a really big turn off. You’re right about the Kia too lol
roberto R even if there are some complaints on the Toyota 8 speed
Exactly. Toyota has gotten complacent, as have most manufacturers of larger SUVs. The Telluride has really put the industry on notice that consumers still enjoy something a little different instead of the same old same old overpriced family hauler. I traded a 2016 Explorer for my Telluride SX and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The Explorer had so many recalls and the gas mileage was atrocious.
GoodGirl_ GoneGlam If you think the Telluride has good gas mileage, wait till you hear about the Highlander hybrid!
Five years later Kia resale value is far lesser than Toyota
The Telluride is Stunning! Excellent review
Loved the video. I just purchased a Subaru Ascent Limited, but I researched and drove the Telluride, Palisade, etc. Honestly it came down to value for me, and the comparably equipped Telluride would be about $10K more here in Nashville, TN than the Ascent. I’m not sure why the Ascent doesn’t get as much love on these reviews, but I’m very happy with it.
The Ascent was our number 2 pick when we compared the Telluride, Atlas, and Ascent. We would probably prefer it over the Pilot and this new Highlander. You made an excellent choice as well.
Telluride for the win. It already won World Car of the Year 2020.
@Der Schwindel I never trusted JD Power. I'm not lying when I say their office shares the same building as the regional HQ for GM. Located in my town of Westlake Village, CA.
The Highlander is a better looking vehicle inside and out in my opinion, it's really up to your own taste
I test drove the Telluride a month ago. It's a very good Mom car, sort of a minivan with a lot of nice features. It's going above MSRP here in AZ.
The dealer was surprised when I went with the 2020 4Runner.
Excellent choice! The 4Runner will last you longer and if you’re ready to change vehicles, will sell for a lot more.
Highlander’s third row is a joke, they shouldn’t even pretend like it has three rows...
How often do you have more than 4 adult-sized humans in one car at the same time?
I use mine all the time and it’s totally fine. Idk why people say this. The third row is not supposed to be like a first class seat, it’s functional, and it totally does the job.
That’s true but honestly I think people who really need a third row should just get a minivan. If I had more than 2 kids I’d just grab a Honda Odyssey and call it a day.
Calisto Riviera nah, minivans isn’t even a option if you’re mentally stable 🥴💣❌🙅🏾♂️❌
Calisto Riviera why get a minivan when you have a Telluride or a Palisade that actually has great space and you don’t look like a biiiotch ✅
Long time reliability....love my highlander..

While your telluride is breaking down I’ll be riding comfortably in my Highlander.
Yyyyeeessss 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
In my opinion Kia is offering more for our money but they lose a lot of value when it comes to selling those cars 👎
For style I’ll give the nod to the Kia but for resale value and reliability I’ll pick the Highlander any day.
With the 35 mpg highlander hybrid it would be no question for me. I think the highlander looks better as well, but the CX 9 blows them both away in terms of looks.
That telluride is beautiful. I’m going to buy one next year when they get cheaper and are more available
I’m 5’9” and sat for 2 hours in the 3rd row seats of the highlander and it was the most uncomfortable two hours of my entire life. Surprised they didn’t make it bigger.
Have a 2016 Highlander. Love it. Great vehicle. The new model looks nice, but no where close to me wanting to upgrade. Also as someone mentioned, resale values are great.
The fact that you don’t want to upgrade says everything . I’m going to keep my Toyota for 10 yrs . My mom’s 2014 highlander runs great just inside is dated
Both of them looks nice but once you get to 100k you’ll see who really is king
Mileage is negligible, it's time that tells. I guarantee a 20 uear old car with only 10,000 miles will have more issues than a 3 year old car with 100,000 miles. Things degrade over time, and the quality of the plastics and gasket materials used will tell over time.
😆😆😆
These automakers are Trying to pump their products out hard-core, they are sending out so many cars to reviewers lately haha, good for Sofyan, thanks for the great video.
yeah this is a no brainer for me unless fuel economy is your #1 priority. i STILL do a double take when i see a telluride on the road. awesome SUV for the money
Dude I LOVE the BLOOPERS...and how you said" oh dear" LMFAO
We sold our Hyundai and got a Toyota Highlander Hybrid (Limited). We love it! There are so many small improvements that are not obvious at first glance. Perfect for 2 adults, 2 boys and 2 labs.
I've owned several Toyotas in my life and currently have two but in definitely considering the KIA. I went to test drive a telluride months ago but yeah, I only managed to catch a close up in one that was already sold to a customer.
I test drove one too. I wanted the Kia but after I sat in it everything felt so cheap and flimsy. I went with Highlander. It feels much more solid.
@@chriss6356 I detail cars and one of my customer’s has a Telluride. The second row sun shade’s on his car are already broken lol. However he said that he had no mechanical issues so far. Seems like Toyota’s interior build quality is much better
@@Smalaihollo maybe they did something wrong with it.....
My uncle's hyundai is 3/4 years old still everything works.
The Highlander will likely prove much more reliable over the long haul as well as enjoy stronger resale value. Styling matters but there are many other factors to be considered, especially if purchasing over leasing.
Brilliant comparison between two class leading cars.Love them both.
Best comparison video I’ve ever seen! Depends if you want hybrid, more room with a almost creditable Kia.
Kia looked like a combination of land rover and cadilac,,while highlander looked liked a combination of subaru and a PT cruiser,,
Zed Lopez , I love Toyotas and therefore the Highlander but I agree with you
PT cruiser 😂😂😂 Whenever ny brother and i get to see them, we are like *Oh, thatsva nice dead-body hauler* xd
nailed it.
My telluride is still the best value hands down!
Tied with the Palisade.
Until trade in.
Dave Volz you will never trade in a telluride once you own one my friend!
Same here! My Telluride SX turned a year old last week and I still enjoy it just as much now as I did on the first day I got it. And yeah, it still gets mistaken quite often for a Range Rover. 😍
I was luck enough to purchase the Telluride SX with the prestige package same as the video on Mat 19th 2019 and I love this vehicle. I'm from Michigan and have driven to Florida and the driving experience was excellent. Have not had any issues or problems.
I just bought 2021 Telluride
Night Fall Edition it is truly amazing! Great safety features love the tech in the vehicle! It has classy upscale interior! It drives like a sports sedan, throw it in sport mode and it takes off!
Try that Smart Mode and save some gas 💰 . I hope you love your Telluride!
Love my Telluride SX. Turns heads all over.
As an owner of my third Kia Optima (2017 SXL my latest) I'd trust every new Kia they launch. Telluride crushes the market for price, size and features!!
Tell me if your Telluride is still around in 20 years. I can't believe it got such high reviews since it is fairly new so no information on longevity.
Totally agree
People in US aren’t poor. They change/replace their vehicles every 5-10 years.
If you a good score credit of course bank will let you borrow money and use your credit card anyways even middle people can afford to buy a new Cadillac or lexus if youre a fan of a car.
💯 had a Highlander 1st gen (2003)now have the 3rd gen (2018) …. Bulletproof
@@ostadfiha4225 yea they not Poot they in debt 💸
Toyota is the winner here for sure in my own personal opinion
Love our telluride!!!!! Amazing!!!!
The Telluride's design is just so gorgeous.
Don't know why Toyota still insists on making their cars look like The Predator when there are other beautiful design options.
I called over 40 Kia dealerships across the US and found only 2 willing to sell it to me AT MSRP. Most on the W Coast are $5-7k over MSRP, middle of the country around $3-4k over MSRP, and E Coast was around $4-5k over MSRP. The two were in MS and NY, so even after shipping came out less than the others.
Call around, no point getting shafted by your local dealership.
Great video comparison, great channel .....
This was an excellent comparison of the two vehicles. I think the new Highlander is nice, but it is too expensive for what it offers. Too bad the Telluride doesn’t have more torque. Regardless, the Telluride seems like the more premium of the two vehicles.
These are both great SUVs ,, i wud recommend them to anyone ... But there is one thing that the Highlander has over Kia is years of reputation and reliability under its belt where Kia still needs to prove that
Jedi One How are they superior, the Kia uses a defined Genesis engine, only it’s transverse, which has dual port and direct just like the Toyota....If you plan on keeping the vehicle for 10 years plus then Toyota, but don’t think the Koreans aren’t catching up to them because they are with every new model
I had to subscribe. Am currently looking at SUVs. My 2016 Honda Pilot Elite lately has been lighting up my dashboard lights, I don't know why. I love it but I got no time to be worrying about cars....I love the way u present your vids. I liked the Grand Cherokee L video. Am considering
Great mid size SUV’s. I needed something with more horsepower and torque to pull my gear and so only because of that I went with the 310 horsepower/271 torque Acadia. The increased hp and torque really do make a difference when you need the power while towing on the road.
The Highlander is ugly to me. I would choose the Kia
@@aaronjeung2210 you have a weird taste or are a Toyota fanboy... 😆... Highlanders are uglier to majority of people..
In every aspect, KIA is far better except the logo.
Thank you for a very interesting comparison. Could you also compare the new Highlander with more vehicles in this segment, e.g. Palisade, Explorer, etc?
The back of the Highlander reminds me of like... a RAV 4... or some Mazada....
The Highlander's infotainment looks actually pretty new and good, except all the piano black buttons... Makes it look cheap, but besides that the screen looks, pretty progressive.
I see Lexus influences in the rear lol
Hurray telluride ❤️
