Bar Keepers Freind! Who knew? I use that on all kinds of stuff. I saw this video, stopped immediately and went out and tried it on my boat. It didn't just work, it was easy, almost effortless to get the stain off my boat. Thanks!
Great info here to anyone with this issue, which is just about everyboater at one point or another!. Just had my boat in steinhatchee for a week and it left an awful stain and this way cleaned it right up! Subbed up dude! Great content 👌
@@JackedUpFishing Dang... I take-it were not going fishing lol. oh, I took Mike D out in my ShearWater about 1 year ago with my Son Hans, who now is in the Marines. Got some nice Pompano. But have not been out since, so was hoping to find someone to go fishing with.
Mary Kate On Off is the very best way to clean fiberglass hulls. I would not put concrete prep on my boats hull. It might ruin it or make it deteriorate. On Off is made for boat cleaning-very strong and you need acid heavy gloves, eye protection and the vapor is bad but nothing works better!
great video.. boat looks clean and ready to launch we had to do that with lysol toilet bowl cleaner after we went to lake elsinore CA that lake was as green as a vegetable
The best way to prevent this from happening is to seal your boat. Once you wash your boat thoroughly, polish it with your choice of compounds and polishes and seal it with a ceramic coating. A quality ceramic coating is expensive but will last for about a year or so in salt water and prevent this from happening.
A soft brush and gel acidic toilet bowl cleaner ( or “the works” in a bucket) from dollar store. Squirt it right on brush. Also Iron out works great. The powder form just sprinkle it on rust stain and mist it with water. I’m gonna try this technique soon. Thanks.
You could have just said your boat sits in Tea......great video ......just FYI i believe THE Works toilet bowl cleaner for $1 a bottle works the same ....Dollar Tree store.
Yeah the water is brownish here because of all the rain we have had. But yeah it stains the boat every use. I will have to check out that stuff for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I would pull the screw or bolt that is rusting and causing stain and replace it with high quality stainless preferably 316 stainless. It will never rust.
Yes because it chemically interacts with metal. That's how it removes rust stains, if you were to leave it on gel coat it would etch it as well eventually. That's why I emphasize waxing after.

No prob thanks for watching!!!
Good for you. I did the same thing. Went out and got it right after this video. Did nothing. Guess I'm just unlucky

Yeah man! Gotta connect in the future for sure!!
@@JackedUpFishing awesome information especially for my area where all the water is stained. Thank you very much my friend 😊
If you take my daughter and I fishing, I supper clean your boat after the trip. Love that ShoalWater. Tight Lines Brother.
Yeah the Shoalwater has been getting neglected big time with the big boat around. lol Next Tuesday you will see how bad. Thanks for watching!!

Didn’t know you were local. Hit me up on Instagram. Might be able to hook up
Thank you. We will be tackling this issue tomorrow on a boat at our shop.
It works just remember to wax real good after

Same basic ingredients
On & Off hull and bottom cleaner works great also but do not get any on your skin or it will burn. Looks great.
Thanks yeah I hear ya. Makes you run to the hose quick 😂

Nice! Thanks for watching!
I use Sunnyside® Back to Nature® Ready-Strip™ Rust Remover Spray. Literally spray on wash off takes that yellow right off and is cheap.
Nice I’ll have to check that out!
Do you think that stuff will work with my boat in the water?
@@joeblow1942 DOubtfull! Needs a little time to soak but takes it right off.
@jackedupfishing
Fantastic information. I plan to follow your directions. Very happy I found your video. Happy Thanksgiving 😊
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
That boat is not dirty...he's cleaning a clean boat!
It wasn't dirty it was stained...
Mate i can't believe it, IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM! great stuff mate.
What type of wax can i use?
Glad it worked for ya! Any good wax you prefer will seal the surface and make it harder for the stain to come back as well.
Can you mix the barkeepers friend with water and use a sponge or brush to apply it?
Yea but it’s abrasive and actually scratches smooth gelcoat if you rub it at all
@@JackedUpFishing oh okay thank you. So is the safest way to apply it the way you did in the video?
@@bennettblackmon2858 if you are using the liquid do not scrub or use the other stuff with spray bottle
I’m going to depot tomorrow gonna give it a try. Thanks good video.
awesome! yeah it works! Make sure you wax after!
I want to go fishing with you! Smoked wahoo is crack! Thanks for the video
Yeah it is!!! Love me some wahoo too!
Anything with Hydrochloric acid in it will take the stains off. The works toilet bowl cleaner works great.
Thats right!!
Will any of these work on my Sea Ark Procat 240?
If it is bare aluminum yes. If it’s painted no

The works or snowbowl works good but you’ll want to follow u with a deck wax, or she will oxidize quickly
Thank you! What do you recommend for rust coming from the railings or screws? Since you said not to use this product on metal.
I would pull the screw or bolt that is rusting and causing stain and replace it with high quality stainless preferably 316 stainless. It will never rust.
I wouldn’t have to wax the inside though? I have some spots on my deck that I need to get off
Nope
I take can of barkeeps mix in my 1 gallon pump sprayer maby a cup to one gallon works great no grit
Yeah, thats prob pretty cheap too. ill have to give that one a try!
Thanks! Barkeeper’s Friend it is!
Thanks for watching
The one product will etch the clear coat on aluminum but its ok for gel coat?
Yes because it chemically interacts with metal. That's how it removes rust stains, if you were to leave it on gel coat it would etch it as well eventually. That's why I emphasize waxing after.
@@JackedUpFishing Oh I see, cool thanks for the clarification
Will the off brand stuff remove rust off stainless prop and any other stainless steel?
It will just a lot slower I tried it after this
will it bleach a blue hull?
No it will not affect gelcoat
Alumabrite works as well.
Yes it does!
Is this mix better than On and Off spray?
It's pretty much the same chemical, but I think ON/Off is a little more diluted.
Bartenders Friend powder (like Comet) is $3.49 at our hardward store.
Yeah but it’s abrasive
How about The Works toilet bowl cleaner from the dollar store
It’s only 9.5% hydrochloric acid. Might take a few more applications but if it works I just learned something too!
@@JackedUpFishing And being from the dollar store its only a dollar
Great video; I hit that red button 🤳🏻
#Getoutthehousegofish
Sweet! Thanks for watching! I checked out your channel as well and subbed to you as well! Awesome stuff!! Keep in touch! Tight Lines!
Great demo but I wouldn’t be doing that bare handed
lol you are probably right!
nice videos boos
Thanks man!! Appreciate the comment!!
26 oz bar keepers friend: $3.78 big box store building materials
Yep . But I like the liquid better. But you are 100 percent correct

👍
Simple Green! Spray it on and wipe it off.
I heard that and tried it, but it didn't do as well. It did work on water scum line really well though.
Simple green will NOT work on yellowed gel coat neither will greased lightning and its slot stronger than simple green...
@@JeffAMay Maybe it depends on your region, I'm in New England and it keeps my boat clean.
Simple green dont work for shit removing mineral stains.
Ospho is a rust inhibitor. Stopped watching when it was used as a cleaner
Lol tough crowd. Should have watched you might have learned something
I’ve been a professional Captain for 20 years on a commercial vessel (7000 tons) nothing to learn here
