Jacked Up Fishing
United States
Приєднався 8 лют 2019
Hey and thank you for checking out our channel! I was born and raised in Daytona Beach, Florida. Growing up fishing and being on the water is a passion of mine, and as I try and pass it on to my my kids I figured that I would create this channel so they would be involved in something really fun and maybe just meet a lot of other cool people who share the same passion for fishing and the outdoors. My content will include of course fishing all over for all different types of species, and instructional techniques for tackle and equipment that I use. A lot of my content will also include boat maintenance and upgrades to help viewers fix normal everyday things that commonly fail due to saltwater use.
Please like and subscribe so you get all the new videos when I release them. We are trying do as many videos as possible, so any feedback on what you want to see or any helpful suggestions are very much welcome. Thanks and see you guys on the water!!

Ultimate Gigging Boat Build #4 - Prepping & Painting Jon Boat Using Seawhawk Paint- Good and Bad!
This is the 4th Video in The Ultimate Gigging Boat Build Playlist. We are starting to round the corner on this build and hopefully will have it rigged up for the Winter flounder gigging season. Used the Seahawk paint and really didn't like the outcome as it was very difficult to work with . If I had to do it again I would probably go with another brand of paint. It came out good (not great) just good, but at least I can move forward. Starting to rig and do the seadek on the next video so make sure and subscribe!
I finally got the website done and we are running charters on Fridays- Saturdays- and Sundays so go to jackedupfishing.com and check out the website for more details! Also pick ups a hat- we have different colors to choose from !

Looked like an amazing trip My Son and his Girlfriend managed Firefly for a year , they came back this past March. She is fourth gen from Hopetown and still has tons of family there. I'm headed there next June 28 th and want to take my 27 dauntless across (twin 225) half to pick the right day obviously . Her Dad said he would do it w me as he's done dozens of times and still lives there. leaving from Palm beach and checking in at Spanish Cay . You have any plans to return?
Yes we try and go every year. Love it over there. Would like more time over near Elbow next time for sure.
You have to remove the lower unit
For what
@@JackedUpFishing you have seals on top as well
@@JackedUpFishing nice boat by the way
Do you have to disconnect whole lower unit to just change prop seals? Great video!
No but I was prepared to do all of the seals. Plus nicer to work inside vs out in the 100 degree heat.
They are shock testing the hull of the carrier probably.
Gotcha was cool for sure
almost there. cant wait to see the river trips. Great paint job
Thanks 🙏
Dude..that looks Boss!
Thanks buddy
The jon boat is turning out great. Seadek will be a nice addition.
Thanks rigging it up this weekend
Where did you get those new key west decals? I have the same exact boat same color too
I got them on eBay
Link for the switches
here you go! And I put it in the description as well. www.amazon.com/dp/B07QKY892P?ref=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_000CNV50A2X063S052JZ&ref_=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_000CNV50A2X063S052JZ&social_share=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_000CNV50A2X063S052JZ&starsLeft=1&skipTwisterOG=1
Your chain is too short! It should be at least the length of your boat. It’s not the anchor that your boat, it’s the chain.
This is not a mooring or overnight anchor. It’s for fishing around rocks or structure
Proof that you can create/fix anything with Duct Tape.
💯
We call those sea cicadas, because 'sand fleas' are an actual thing. They're usually more up in the dunes, and they bite your ankles like regular pet fleas.
lol 10-4 learn something new everyday
Dang good video. Thanks man.
Thanks for watching!
What’s up Cap have a couple questions. My friend and I are planning a trip this weekend to go out for some tuna. What size leader in line did you use and do you even waste your time fishing heading out or you just wait until you’re about 100 miles.
60-100lb depending on how finicky the fish are. I start liking around 80 miles
Thank you so much. I’ll give you an update on Sunday.
Good video man, love me some ceviche!!
Thanks man!
what should i do if my actual throttle grip loose and shaky?
Look at it closely and see if anything can be tightened up. Be careful could be something real loose and could cause a break down in the water
@@JackedUpFishing any bushing in the handle?
I do ALOT of electrical work and if you use anything but wrenches on Stainless bolts and nut there is. 90% chance of galling!!! You even think fast 💨 it will fall you can use the rattle gun and have a few of them work but then it will fall on the next bolts you do. We put stainless strut straps up and we do rattle gun them but once you start you had better finish fast once that heat passes and get a temp change you have just welded them together. If it won’t move skinny wheel is the only thing that fixes it!!!
Yep you are right. A little grease or never seize and it won’t lock up as well
Love the videos! How deep were you guys fishing?
About 80-100ft
Welcome back, Bill.
🙏 thank you
Thanks for the video! It was great to see you out there on the water again. Sorry to see the Sea Hunter go, what are you thinking about for your next boat? Maybe a Yellowfin 32 or 34?
Nothing more than a 32-33ft. Waiting to see what the Seahunter sells for before making my decision
Nice video Capt! Tight lines brother!
Thanks buddy!!
Back and action packed.
Yes sir! Thanks for watching
Using this ""technique" limits the holding power to the strength of the strap. Sorry, that's a complete stupid idea! Instead you just can an use a stone and tie a rope to it - that's cheaper and provides similar holding (and security).
It works in our area for a lot of us. Wouldn’t call it stupid. Real world experience here buddy
Looking forward to the build Capt. know the feeling about downsizing
Thanks 🙏. Sad to see it go but it’s time
Doesn't the carrier just come right out if you remove the retaining ring? That's how it works on many Mercury's. Then you can remove the seals however you want without fear of damaging the prop shaft and tap the new ones in using a large socket.
This way is used by most Yamaha service techs in my area. I’m sure there are different ways including the way the service manual instructs, but this is way I do on real world environment. So far it’s been flawless
@@JackedUpFishing Well I'm just saying, if a guy doesn't want to risk scratching the prop-shaft, if the retention ring is not seized it is easier to take out the carrier assembly than it is to do the drywall screw thing. And no chance of scratching the prop-shaft, which would require completely rebuilding the lower assembly to fix. I think Mercury must have thought this was regular maintenance back in the day, because my retention ring even has an arrow pointing which way to turn it to get it out. (Counter-clockwise, as one might expect.)
@@Nonplused yeah Merc is a lot better as far as corrosion. Yamaha carriers are a PITA. lol
@@JackedUpFishing Well I have a Mercury, I don't know Yamaha. But I had intended to use the drywall screw method after watching this video, but was fearful of scratching the prop-shaft. Then I noticed the arrow and "Remove" stamped on the retainer ring and thought I would give that a try with a hammer and a large screw driver first. There is a safety tab that has to be bent out of the way but other than that it came right out. I ended up nicking the retention ring with the screwdriver, but not badly and it will cause no issues. If one were to get the custom tool, I imagine it's an easy job, certainly easier that rebuilding the whole lower to fix a scratched prop-shaft. But if it was really corroded I don't know how it would go. My boat is fresh water and hardly ever stays in the water when not in use, it lives on its trailer.
Done. Love the net
👍
Great trip bro... awesome video
Thanks bro!
good morning. I hope every ody has a blessed day
You as well 👍
Looks great!
Thank you 🙏
Nice casting guys. We’re going this week fingers crossed. Have you been this shrimping season yet?
Yeah been a few times. Been pretty good
@@JackedUpFishing awesome bro. In the future we can link up and do a video together. I rented a house for some river shrimping this week. Will post but my vlogs are running behind. We want to Cedar Key last Friday night but the shrimp are small.
Amazing
Thank you 🙏
well this is a month old coppage are they still running over there right now?
They were as of last week but we have had lots of rain in last few days so they probably gone
@@JackedUpFishing thanks bill ...ive seen those shrimp run till mullet season .. hildebradnt from oakhill snuck up there and caught 300 lbs while we scrapping a handfull of mullet at the inlet and they were all big shrimp ..this is ed the crabber if you remember me
@@bernardedward3277 yeah I remember ya buddy! Hope all is well buddy!
do they ever clean up (go get) the anchors that end up breaking from the ship sinking into the ocean ? too many errors 1 planet
😂
Came out nice!! Great job!
🙏 thank you
May I suggest that when making videos, you not have whatever motor thing is running in the background, running? As a viewer, I hated every second that thing was making noise. Thank you
Was years ago when I started.
i lost a mushroom anchor once. Must have jammed into some rocks or wedged into a log or something. I let out as much line as I could and motored in all directions, and pulled and pulled, but it never came loose. Had to cut the line. Fortunately I had another one, but I haven't dared anchor in that spot again.
Yeah it has happened to me plenty of times. You never forget those spots 😂
When you had the water pump off you could have replaced the two seals below that metal plate, and then the other two seals on the shifter link. 4 other seals/orings .
You are right, but they were done shortly before this video within the year and when I found the leak and tested it according to specs it was perfect. So those seals were good
How can you make it shiny again. Tried wax, didn't work
Only way is to buff but that’s a serious job
What kind of testing pump is that? Where can I find one? What is it called.
Thanks! Barkeeper’s Friend it is!
Thanks for watching
Awesome video! Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Just got myself a hull with a Yami 115. Thanks for the vid, subbed.
Awesome! Congrats on new rig!
Where did get the acrylic from?
I got it from eBay
Is shrimping easy for a beginner to do? What's the best way to cook the shrimp you catch?
If you know how to throw a big castnet it is pretty easy. It’s a lot of work but I love it. How I cook them depends on the size. Jumbo shrimp I like to butterfly and fry, med I like to use for scampi and u peel em steamed
15/16 socket, not 5/16
ok??? I do not know what you are referring to but yes I do use 5/16 sockets which is very close to 8mm. I never use a 15/16 on anything in the outboard area
Good video mate . Really should Use small gauge wire instead of plastic zip tie . Ocean doesn’t need more plastic in it .
Yeah your right. This video is 5 years old, we now use string
Doesn't get any more fun than that. Deadly technique. 👍👍
Yes sir! Thanks for watching
For a four-stroke Yamaha is it hard to do a compression test or should I hire someone I'm looking at buying a boat
Depends on size. A lot of them are tough, but the smaller ones are easy to do.
We call those dog fish
LOL
i have an 18 feet bowrider with the 4.3 mercruiser ...i replace the 3 blades 14 1/4x 21 for a 4blades 14x19 can anybody tell me what could happen please...im not an expert
Top end will decrease in speed and you will gain around 300 rpm, but your hole shot bottom end will be stronger.
