I had set up all the APP connections and mainly used the music and navigation. I found both to be very finicky and problematic. I have since disconnected and removed it all and went back to my phones music and GPS mounted on a stem mount.
Great review. Its funny but I got used to my keyless fob and I like it. You must remember to always have it on your person though and on a Goldwing you could easily put your jacket in the trunk with the fob inside the jacket, and the bike could auto lock everything! So I actually like the fact that the Kawasaki requires a key for the panniers, petrol cap etc. You can get into a lot of trouble if the fob is needed for everything. The biggest hurts for me are the side stand, the radiator guard, and the skid engine protectors, which should be stock. I may also seek out a higher windscreen as I am about your height too and buffering would bother me too. Some after market screens have a steep curve outwards at the top thereby pushing the wind flow higher so you may not need a higher screen if it has a steep curve. Does the bike come with the tinted shield or was that an extra? Nice review, thank you!
Nice one buddy. Good point about the key. Never thought of that. I’m looking at screens atm. The smoked screen comes with either the touring pack or the performance pack. Can’t remember which. I have the stock screen
Very useful, real world information, good video. Looking to get one myself (previous ZX6R owner), would still get one even after watching this. Subbed.
Great video and valid comments. It’s funny how things are meant to get better with newer version but the older version has a small key and works fine. I swapped my screen for a powerbronze double bubble tinted screen and works great with no turbulence etc at 70mph plus. Kawasaki Newbury near me are amazing and very helpful. Not sure if I will upgrade my 2020 model for the newer version. Mine has done 18k miles and still an amazing bike!
@@MotovlogUK There are two powerbronze versions of the double bubble screen. I got the lower version as the tall one looks a little odd on the bike (too tall). Just had the suspension properly set up at my local Kawasaki dealer (£30 special deal with a local suspension specialist) and has transformed the bike. I’ve also bought a ‘cool covers’ seat cover (I had one on my last bike) and it makes comfort even better. AMAZING BIKE. We will have to meet up for a ride soon.
@@NewburyNick I’ll check the screens out pal. Thank you. I had the suspension professionally set up on my GSXR and I agree, it’s the best thing I ever did so glad you got that done. You have the manual adjust suspension? Always welcome for a ride out buddy 🫡
I have a 2023 Ninja 1000sx, it has a key, I don't know why they didn't leave it as an option for the H2 SX SE, love my Ninja, not as much power as the H2 but plenty for me as it's my first big bike 😎👍 My bike is matte red and black, mostly black.
Great review. Really appreciate it. I sold my BMW K1600 GT and was looking at this bike but it just seems a bit too far toward the sport side for my taste. The K bike was 80% tour 20% sport. The H2 SX SE seems the opposite. I’d like something closer to 50/50.
@@MotovlogUK I’ve test rode this bike on Saturday 😂 and the Zh2 and you’re right it’s a fantastic bike but the riding position is way too far forward I couldn’t ride it for long, now the weight mmm 🤔 it’s heavy but it’s low so not a problem, the power delivery is very strange, it’s fast no doubt about it but for me personally I prefer the power delivery of a non supercharged bike ( I had the Speed Triple 1200 ) .
Agreed 👍🏾 I’ve had the K1600 and it’s an absolute masterpiece of a bike I loved it , I’ve got the S1000Xr and it’s a pleasure to ride. The SX is a great bike and at low speeds it’s incredibly easy to ride but the riding position is very sporty so I wouldn’t buy one even though it’s supercharged it’s still a no from me
@@MotovlogUK Is the screen bigger, or does it just do a better job of dispersing the wind? I get the same on my 1000sx, but reluctant to get a huge screen, so living with it at the moment.
Color is a big one. I came across my candy burnt orange zx14. One of those rare non green zx14s around. Been 2 years riding in Calgary (about 1.2 million people) and haven't seen another ZX14 yet. There just is something having a "rare" bike. I can imagine this bike would be similar. Absolutely beautiful machine.
ua-cam.com/video/OoMy_bWlvTM/v-deo.html A little video a couple of years ago when I took delivery of my 2009. Have done some other goodies to her since then. You know always have to make it yours, and undo some things. Guess that is one of the great things when it isn't absolutely new you aren't worried about keeping it pristine..
Great video Here's my top 5 list I don't like with my 2022 H2sx se Tourer, I don't hate any. 1.can't change settings electronics while riding 2.low revs are to nice/weak 3.heated grips button is difficult 4.touring screen should have been bigger, agree about the buffering, I changed to a Givi screen, better and looks good 5.Tankcap should have been keyless
Agreed with all but number 1. Try when coasting in 6th or 5th and make sure no one behind you. Put throttle to zero then change the setting. Wait while the setting is flashing until steady and sorted. I think you can do that with the suspension settings and rider modes. Haven’t tried anything else though
I couldn’t agree more about the Ignorant Key Fob, the new 2021- Honda FireBlade had the exact same key fob, i actually lost it on my maiden voyage, it fell out my AlpineStars leather suit pocket, the zipper un zipped from crouching down, zippers on AlpineStars’s leathers are backwards for sport bike riding
I have exactly same problem with my new rst v2 leather suit, have to leave pocket unzipped as it is in the perforated floppy lining for the life of me i cannot operate the zip one handed every time I get petrol have to undo suit to get wallet all the time hoping the phone don't fall out! I have an old 2peice higns garret lethers with exelent pockets brilliant comfortable but old and for protection reasons shelled out on new leathers finding them hard work in all ways but hopefully they will save my but if needs be?
@@richardwoodhouse8397 I might put a clip on the phone holder to clip the key to lol. Done another 1000 miles the last few weeks and still can’t get used to it 😢
Hey Dave, regarding the scratch on the screen. This will be covered under warranty so just speak to them bud. Regarding everything else i.e. the side stand, when i had my busa that only had a side stand and it lay over quite a bit, a local petrol station to me i had to pick a pump that wasnt on a slope as it was pretty hard to straighten up after i filled up - now that did bug me. It didnt do much for my confidence i must say. Lol
Nice one mate. I'm not too bothered about the screen now as I've put one on that works better. The side stand is a bit better too with the foot on it so all good. Just sucks that you have to spend more money on a 'no compromise bike'
To be fair i don't know that h2sx but the Kawasaki GTR has the keyless ignition and the knob has a position as turned all the way to the right where it comes out as a key and so will open the tank etc. So it's basically functions as a key as well and i don't need to search for the other key but yours might be different.
So you forget which pocket you put the key, you don't read or don't know how to interpret the manual, the bubble screen scratches after getting hit... Black bikes, white cars... My man.... You sound a bit childish tbh
I knew about the seat goin in Mate' thanks fer showing me what I've never seen-#noSpace - Mine came with the clear so its been replaced with the Zero Gravity Black out screen, total agreement on the stand but compared to my GoldWing GL1800 - it's a breeze to centerstand it - the guards in the front are a great point'
Nice one buddy. I’ve ordered the r&g pipe cover and radiator cover before I realised that you have to take the bike apart to its individual component pieces to fit them 😂 I only have a Hammer. Should be ok.
Go back to o a VFR mate, having owned the2019 model i can't agree with any of your hates, db screen will sort the buffeting, tank bag will sort the under seat storage, now have a S1000xr which is keyless, once again key goes in the micro s w motech tank bag which I also had on myH2SX SE, hopefully you will post somethings you do like
Why should I have to buy a different screen? Why should I have to buy a tank bag? My dislikes all valid for me. I’m not seeking agreement. If there’s nothing about your bike you don’t like then you’re not being honest. Oh and I’ve already done a Loves vid which could have been a few hours long 🫡 enjoy you XR
Mate, reference the screen, I have the tinted sport screen on mine, I’m 6ft1 and as I’ve said before on a couple of comments I’ve made, I’ve been to Italy, France, Spain with this smaller genuine sport screen and have no buffeting at all, if anything it supports my wrists etc Put the genuine tinted sports screen on it, you’ll be fine then… Trust me, I’ve done 15k on her now👌🏽
Nice one Pal. I think the one on mine is the Kawa Tinted Touring Screen then? Not sure. I thought it was the Sport screen but maybe they swap it with the performance/touring pack.
@@MotovlogUK Yeah that is the touring screen because I’ve got one too! Used it once and put the small tinted sport screen on cos I couldn’t handle the wind noise!
I assume you carry a key ring for your house and other keys that you use all the time, get a normal size key made that you can put on your house key ring. Why do they make such a big piece of plastic for a key anyway?
I think the chunky plastic bit has all the electronics in to link it to the bike. I’ve no idea why it needs to be so big though and it doesn’t work most of the time anyway lol
@@MotovlogUK agreed. Funny enough I was looking at the h2 series in a showroom last week, I was wondering how a protector would fit due to the large curved radiator.
Im going to test ride one on Saturday, in the midlands, lets call them Dr Foster went to ,here's hoping someone at the dealership knows alot about the bike as ive many questions ,which would be helpful if im going to spend big bucks
Dave: Thanks for your top 5 “dislikes”. May I add two of mine? 1: The handlebars are too low. At 5’9”, it puts a bit of strain on my back and wrists. How about for you? It’s too much sport, and not enough touring on handlebar height. 2: The passenger seat is not functional for long term comfort. Any passenger discomfort for you? Otherwise, the “likes” far outweigh the “dislikes”. Looking forward to your likes list.
Hey buddy. Good shout. I agree with the bars. Wish I could raise them an inch like I did the VFR. My Son tells me the back seat is really comfortable so I only have that to go on. It doesn’t look very comfortable though does it lol. Thanks pal 🫡
I won't have my bikes serviced by main dealers any more, if they can't get the oil level right, what else? Last time I took my h2 in it ran fine but they fitted a chain tentioner as a recall, ever since got chain rattle on start up & pull away, took it back moaning and nearly got beaten up by the macanic ! Nice customer service ? I have always done my own maintenance, it was just last couple of years needing to get service book or chip logged.on newer bikes. I've got about half of your storage space on my H2 2015 and your 5 dislikes is why I have a zzr1400 ps as sports tourer with a decent bag on the r/seat and for those long hi speed runs I take one of the busas, if it looks like rain then the blackbird comes out. I was going to get your bike but the keyless and all the chains put me off, to high maintenance for putting the miles on? I completely agree with your niggles and yes a great bike.
If you have somewhere on the bike to put the key, you'll accidently leave it there allowing the bike to be stolen! Keep the key on you, not the bike. That said, everything else should be keyless too.
You could of bought a gold wing for what you paid for h2 sx m8 but it's personal preferences and all that! I think it's a lovely bike and like you say you spent all that money and couldn't have the colour you wanted.i own a Kawasaki z 1000 r performance which I acquired 3 years ago from Cornwall Kawasaki I don't live far from there myself the staff there and customer service is second to none I find.. you enjoy your bike.

I don’t have keyless on mine due to it being an older model. But Jesus, the rest of your gripes are trifling, it’s one of the best value sports tourer bikes on the market. Space under the seat!! So when you are riding for 3 days you expect to fit your luggage in there? The side stand is there for you to momentarily rest the bike so you can put it on the centre stand. Didn’t mention a centre stand did you? Send the fairing visor back under warranty!! Seriously mate - my major gripe is that you made this video as click bait without any real substance and titled it so you might somehow graft some sponsors and become a reviewer. It was seriously a shocking review.
Haha lol. Take a breath buddy. These are the things I don’t like and are very relevant to me. Best value bike though??? Use centre stand all the time??? Nah. No click bait here mate and I have no aspirations at all to review and be sponsored. Oh and I do think It’s a great bike over all. Think I said that. Thanks for the comment.
IMO..It wasn't thought out like it should have been.My 2015 H2 was actually a great bike. This 2020 SXSE+ I have has required a reshaped seat, bar risers.and a flash/piping to pull the ponies out somewhat.THen the recalls. My bike has been actually trouble-free in 8K miles so far.Only the tensioner seems to be getting a bit noisier at startup when cold.I have a manual one here.@@MotovlogUK
The app is NOT NOT NOT a niggle, it's the #1 thing i DESPISE about this bike. Pretty much all the software is completely useless. If you have a flip phone, it wont work without the phone held open... The turn by turn nav... You need to use this third party trash that doesn't come with it.... If you want to be realistic, the TFT is just a stupid aesthetic item, it's got little to no actual functionality as using the phone with it is complete trash, and not even possible if you have a flip phone, which are normally GREAT for motorcycles as they fit a belt holster nicely. I kinda like the keyless functionality, but when you lock the head, it's really a PITA to get it to unlock until you get used to it. I agree that it's an amazing bike, after owning it for a year, but having turn by turn nav is a major safety item on a bike, and you basically don't have that here..
@@MotovlogUK It's an amazing bike though, one of the great things about it are all the safety features, which is why that app burns by britches so much, as i see things like an easy to see NAV screen as a safety feature..

Hey buddy. Deffo an amazing bike. I love the pants off it 🫡
Lovely to meet you mate! Will 100% come out for a ride soon!
Good to meet you too mate! Always welcome for a bimble
I think you are being a bit nit picky....
What's that say about the bike?
@@Hunter1st Well I have no idea but after riding sport type bikes for 45yrs those days are overish, I am getting an H2 SX SE next month...
Where did you get the exhaust
Great video and valid comments. It’s funny how things are meant to get better with newer version but the older version has a small key and works fine. I swapped my screen for a powerbronze double bubble tinted screen and works great with no turbulence etc at 70mph plus. Kawasaki Newbury near me are amazing and very helpful. Not sure if I will upgrade my 2020 model for the newer version. Mine has done 18k miles and still an amazing bike!
Hey buddy. I’ll have a look at the power bronze. I put one on the VFR and it was good. Keep the 2020 mate 🤘
@@MotovlogUK yes I’ve got the manual suspension (se) model. If I ever upgrade then I will go for the electronic suspension like yours.

I have a 2023 Ninja 1000sx, it has a key, I don't know why they didn't leave it as an option for the H2 SX SE, love my Ninja, not as much power as the H2 but plenty for me as it's my first big bike 😎👍 My bike is matte red and black, mostly black.
Agreed mate. 1000SX is a top bike pal.
@@MotovlogUK
All the best from Australia 🦘
Love the 1000sx. Looking like my choice. The zx-10r is still tempting though . 🤔
Great review. Really appreciate it. I sold my BMW K1600 GT and was looking at this bike but it just seems a bit too far toward the sport side for my taste. The K bike was 80% tour 20% sport. The H2 SX SE seems the opposite. I’d like something closer to 50/50.
No problem buddy and you’re 100% correct there.
@@MotovlogUK I corrected a typo. Doh. Seems you got my drift.
The SX is a great bike and at low speeds it’s incredibly easy to ride but the riding position is very sporty so I wouldn’t buy one even though it’s supercharged it’s still a no from me
Get the Triumph Rocket 3 ! 250 Nm of torque 😂!! 👍🏾
Screen wise get the double bubble screen it still looks good and would throw the air over your head at your height.
Got one pal. Bought a Powerbronze. Works well.
I love the Zx14 and did consider one. Never seen one in orange! Bet it looks awesome 🫡
ua-cam.com/video/OoMy_bWlvTM/v-deo.html A little video a couple of years ago when I took delivery of my 2009. Have done some other goodies to her since then. You know always have to make it yours, and undo some things. Guess that is one of the great things when it isn't absolutely new you aren't worried about keeping it pristine..
Great video
Here's my top 5 list I don't like with my 2022 H2sx se Tourer, I don't hate any.
1.can't change settings electronics while riding
2.low revs are to nice/weak
3.heated grips button is difficult
4.touring screen should have been bigger, agree about the buffering, I changed to a Givi screen, better and looks good
5.Tankcap should have been keyless
Agreed with all but number 1. Try when coasting in 6th or 5th and make sure no one behind you. Put throttle to zero then change the setting. Wait while the setting is flashing until steady and sorted. I think you can do that with the suspension settings and rider modes. Haven’t tried anything else though
@@MotovlogUK thanks I try!
Kinda agree - but the upside is its safer :-)
I couldn’t agree more about the Ignorant Key Fob, the new 2021- Honda FireBlade had the exact same key fob, i actually lost it on my maiden voyage, it fell out my AlpineStars leather suit pocket, the zipper un zipped from crouching down, zippers on AlpineStars’s leathers are backwards for sport bike riding
What a nightmare. I’m still not used to it. Just does t make sense to me. Something else to lose or forget
Good to here bud. Smashing bike. Enjoy yourself
To be fair i don't know that h2sx but the Kawasaki GTR has the keyless ignition and the knob has a position as turned all the way to the right where it comes out as a key and so will open the tank etc. So it's basically functions as a key as well and i don't need to search for the other key but yours might be different.
Now that’s not a bad idea at all but sadly, mine doesn’t do that. Well, not that I know of lol
So you forget which pocket you put the key, you don't read or don't know how to interpret the manual, the bubble screen scratches after getting hit... Black bikes, white cars... My man.... You sound a bit childish tbh
Thank you. I never grew up. It’s a good thing 🫡
you can give it to me if you don't like it 😊
Great video! Swap the fuel cap for a quick release from TWC
@@MotovlogUK omg - no way - I’m 6ft so peg extensions were a lifesaver- may do Murphy risers next - could live on it then
I think i recognise that place. Is it Copgrove? I'm pretty sure I have walked around all over that roof 😂
How many miles to the tank are you getting? Im thinking of trading my 2017 concours 14 for a sxse.
I get around 200 miles on a tank pal. Could probably push that to 230 if I tried
Didnt you test ride it for the 4 hour test ride usually allowed?!
Hey buddy. I went to 3 dealers and none of them had a bike to test ride
Mate, reference the screen, I have the tinted sport screen on mine, I’m 6ft1 and as I’ve said before on a couple of comments I’ve made, I’ve been to Italy, France, Spain with this smaller genuine sport screen and have no buffeting at all, if anything it supports my wrists etc
Put the genuine tinted sports screen on it, you’ll be fine then… Trust me, I’ve done 15k on her now👌🏽
Nice one Pal.
@@skts2610 top man. Thanks for the tip buddy I’ll give the other screen a go
I assume you carry a key ring for your house and other keys that you use all the time, get a normal size key made that you can put on your house key ring. Why do they make such a big piece of plastic for a key anyway?
I think the chunky plastic bit has all the electronics in to link it to the bike. I’ve no idea why it needs to be so big though and it doesn’t work most of the time anyway lol
@@MotovlogUK I didn't think of that. What a pain in the ass.
Did you not notice the lack of radiator and pipe guards before you bought the bike buddy.
I did mate. Straight away. Not a reason to not buy the bike though I just think it’s pretty bad they don’t put any on

All new bikes need rad guards.
Agreed pal

Thanks buddy for the info. I agree with everything you said. I was missold lol
@@MotovlogUK It's an amazing bike though, one of the great things about it are all the safety features, which is why that app burns by britches so much, as i see things like an easy to see NAV screen as a safety feature..
