    Probably the best "first new car" choice on the US market.

    Value for money and way ahead of the competition - comparatively speaking.

    The Chevy Trax looks like it was designed when Wishbone still had new episodes.

    You'd have to be crazy to get a Trax over any of the other offerings.

    MotorWeek Good review. I own the model that you tested, and I am thrilled. Interior fit and finish and choice of soft touch materials is head and shoulders about traxx, renegade, etc, as far as power, in the city its quite quick, with a 1st and 2nd gears seeming particularly low geared and acceleration in swift. On the highway is a different story, you need to plan ahead when passing. motor week keeps comparing the CX-3 to the Mazda 3, when in fact the CX-3 is based on the Mazda 2, Toyota Yaris, and scion IA platform, borrowing its engine from the CX-5, with a smaller exhaust manifold to make it fit into the engine bay, and noticeably increasing torque at a lower rpms.

    I definitely take a CX-3 over it's competition any day of the week. Do those rim's come any bigger?

    • @kma198199
      @kma198199 8 років тому

      Do you mean wheels? The term "rims" is outdated and technically inaccurate.

      +Mr_2011 Chevy Mailbu yup the GT model comes with 18's and they are sharp, I have one.

      +Mr_2011 Chevy Mailbu it handles very good actually. i had a 2013 civic EX-L before this and the tires were a lower profile, so i found that from going from the civic to the cx3 making aggressive swerves or fast cornering was somewhat poorer than the honda, but then again this is technically sub compact crossover with a 15" rim ...yes i said it "rim" lol and a higher sidewall compared to the 17" low profile tire and rim,but overall its rather impressive.

    Did Mazda use the front turn-signal/fog light combo layout like the 2015-2016 Toyota Camry?

    • @mituljariwala9821
      @mituljariwala9821 6 років тому

      Tim Joseph the Altima did it first. Now the new Camry doesn't even offer fog lights, they're cheaping out

    It looks good but I test drove it feels underpowered. I guess you can't expect a lot in the subcompact field though.

      Better than others in it class.

    • @sportsMike87
      @sportsMike87 7 років тому

      for the weight of the car I think it could use a slightly bigger engine.

    • @hnnotyy
      @hnnotyy 7 років тому

      sportsMike87 It weighs way under 3 thousand pounds, it weighs less than my previous car. Mazda said possibly in another year. This has enough power for its size than others have Honda HR-V only has 130, Chevy Trax 138, Subaru Crosstrek 148.

    • @sportsMike87
      @sportsMike87 7 років тому

      I get that but I still wish it had more because I had to smash the accelerator when merging onto a highway. I ended up with a Mazda 3 which I am happy with

    • @hnnotyy
      @hnnotyy 7 років тому +1

      The 3 is totally different car it has the 2.0 or 2.5 engine also but you have to remember this is also an AWD vehicle it has more wheels to add power to rather than just 2 wheels. But anyway enjoy the 3 I opt out of the 3 only cause it has FWD.

    Man that Chevy was ugly. It looks so dated and its brand new.

  • @LoveMyZJ

    AWD aside, i don't understand why someone would want to purchase this over a Mazda3, especially since they have the same ground clearence.

    • @tymac3306
      @tymac3306 8 років тому

      +LoveMyZJ your right, aside from the AWD option it wouldn't make sense, the cx3 is actually uses the new Mazda 2, Toyota Yaris, and scion IA platform, and not the Mazda 3, I don't understand why motor week compared it to Mazda 3?

    Good looking car but overpriced for a 2.0 liter engine. That model shown
    is $29k and no homelink available for a 2.0 engine. I repeat 2.0 engine.
    I paid $34k for a new toyota highlander xle model with v6 3.5 liter 275
    horsepower which is 135 horses more or almost twice the power. Manual shift +/- are
    opposite positions compared to other cars. I also have an 8 year old 2008 Scion xB
    with a 2.4L engine that has more power at 160hp for $17k... that is $10k less than the
    Mazda. Also, no APPLE CARPLAY.

    Due to the limited practicality and higher side & rear profile, which makes you feel constrained, it is another failure from Mazda from sale perceptive. The firm should hire different designers if it wants to avoid continuing bummers such as 6.

    • @markwilliams6378
      @markwilliams6378 8 років тому

      How is the 6 a bummer? people are sheep if you had the 6 design and slapped a Honda or Toyota badge on it , it would sell like hot cakes

      no question, brand power/equity/loyalty/image/ or awareness Mazda lacks most...
