It's been a decade long love affair ever since I built my first coroplast shelter for Burningman. I was dubbed Jack-in-the-box due to my 4 foot square hang out shown here elkinsdiy.com/burningman-box-shelter/
It's nice to know politicians actually do something to help end homelessness, I just wish it was something more than providing building materials that might otherwise end up in the landfill.
I feel like I said every time but you’ve really knocked it out of the park with this one! All hail the king of coroplast! I wish I could get big campaign signs like that around here lol. Be well and have an excellent week
Despite all of the coroplast videos you've made, I'd never thought of building a structure like this on the back of a ute. Simple elegance. Absolutely brilliant.
I love what you do, and I'm so glad you shared it with the world. That's the only way the world gets any better: people caring and sharing good ideas. The toilet scene cracked me up! Now I have to go and finally build my dream truck bed camper. Thanks Paul, hope you're well!
This is my home unit but they do come the size of a cell phone. Upload your favorite movies on a separate drive and entertain yourself. If the SHTF what else are you going to do?
I'm really love this video . I think it's amazing all the things that you make out of coroplast. I'm going to have to look into my local County and City to see how they dispose of their used coroplast signs maybe they would let me go around and pick some up.
This is _fantastic._ Personally I would have loved one that had an arch from the front of the bed to standing height at the tail gate, but it's still really really nice as is.
I watched the bike camper video over a year ago. Best design ever! Then, I watched the mini speed boat video and loved it. But, I never realized it was the same guy!? Now I'm watching this truck camper. And, I'm thinking that this dude is the greatest!
Years ago while working "out of town" I'd bought an old Ford pickup and it had a "cattle rack" style pin on top of the bed. Being as it was spring/summer time and I was way too cheap to be paying high rent for just me I decided to live in it. I just laid six 2x6x6ish boards side ways across the top of the truck bed and used that as a platform to sleep on and pulled a 12x12 tarp across the top in case it rained. I sure wished I'd had your idea though, this is genius. The fact that you don't have to take it down when you move is what I especially like about it. With mine you had to take the tarp off every time you drove the truck and you also couldn't leave anything in the back of the truck for fear of it getting wet but then again I didn't have much at that time so there's that. Either way this is by far nicer than what I used and more useful
Wow! Just speechless... That is so fantastically simple, yet amazingly good. What more does anyone need? Why do people spend megabucks on more complicated, bigger, harder to park, drive, maintain etc. vehicles? Your videos give a lot of food for thought, and inspiration to follow. Thank you.
Coroplast is so versatile. I have made several folding kayaks and dinghies as well as some furniture. My latest brainstorm is to make a 2 person steam room to warm up before swimming in my pool in these frigid florida winters.
Fantastic ! I've been watching you tinker for years inspired me I have an ez-up 8x8 pro grade at last the tarping has given up 5 years later anyway I thought of your projects bought 11 sheets to fix er up , I can't find old signs any bigger than yard sale stuff . Wish me luck 😁
Your such an ideas Man. Standing ovation from me to you on this one. Great idea for a backyard business. Paint and add the side of it. Sell them as kits. Cheers.
you really inspire me. I am 69, almost 70 and am working on a truck camper setup. I have been to several countries but would like to see the US more. I can only afford it by camping. Looking forward to 2022 to fulfill my BucketList. Thanks for your wonderful CREATIONS. love it. I think coroplast may help. I do think that painting it black, would be better to not LIGHT UP THE WORLD...
I agree. Black or whatever other color you want to use. I used Krylon Fusion rattle can spray paint on another coroplast shelter and it's holding up well. You can also add the aluminum bubble wrap for minor insulation and get the light blocking affect without the need of paint.
The only thing I would change is I would use one of those Solar generators for the power. It is basically a massive Charging bank that can be recharged from a solar panel.
Fantastic! Your ingenuity continues to supercede all expectations, just like your video & entertainment skills! Truly Impressive. Thank you for sharing :-)
Only thing it needs is something like a tipi liner, a cloth that hangs in front of the walls that keep your shadow from projecting on the side of the walls when the lights are on at night
Great !! Do you have some Ideas, where we can get some used sheets of fluted plastic, in order to recycle it & have the least carbon imprint, please ? Your homeless sheters are great too !! Thank you .. you're awesome !!
I sometimes contact my local election headquarters and ask if I can reclaim any signs, or I go to my local recycle station or I wait a week after an election and gather the ones still standing along the freeway side roads.
Made a truck bed camper out of 4"x8'x4' aluminum foil faced sheets for Paradise CA fire victims and homeless. 1 persons body heat raises inside temps 30 degrees!! No heater required. Drove over 600 miles with it. Try it!!
Outrageous Paul. We dub Thee: "King of Coroplast!"
Perfect 🤣
The king of sourcing large coroplast sheets
It's been a decade long love affair ever since I built my first coroplast shelter for Burningman. I was dubbed Jack-in-the-box due to my 4 foot square hang out shown here elkinsdiy.com/burningman-box-shelter/
When will the blue prints be available for this.. you definitely awesome
@@paulwelkinsdiy I'm interested in the blue prints for the shelter for a truck
It's nice to know politicians actually do something to help end homelessness, I just wish it was something more than providing building materials that might otherwise end up in the landfill.
This makes me want a truck. It looks so cozy next to the water with those trees
you got a big heart Paul, & your creativity level is off the charts👍💨
Amazing! I love it so practical & didn’t cost a arm and leg to build I will be using yours as a blue print sir if that’s ok.
No problem. Plans are on the way.
I feel like I said every time but you’ve really knocked it out of the park with this one! All hail the king of coroplast! I wish I could get big campaign signs like that around here lol. Be well and have an excellent week
I think this is your best yet.
So simple and practical. Well done.
10/10 simple, straightforward, very upgradable and affordable.
As long as you put out content I'll be here to watch it. Cheers.
Despite all of the coroplast videos you've made, I'd never thought of building a structure like this on the back of a ute. Simple elegance. Absolutely brilliant.

Ive seen a lot of bug out/ camping contraptions over the years but this is the first that has a cinema.
This is my home unit but they do come the size of a cell phone. Upload your favorite movies on a separate drive and entertain yourself. If the SHTF what else are you going to do?
Great job demonstrating "eyeball engineering " for us "creative engineers" I have enjoyed all your coroplastic projects
Shine on
This would be even better with pop up walls. I love what you've done here!
Thanks Michael.
Paul, I’d love to see this with an aerodynamic back! Love the design already, especially the built in couch dual purpose.
Paul, you are the best designer 👍
I love Paul! He is one of the best at what he does!
I'm really love this video .
I think it's amazing all the things that you make out of coroplast.
I'm going to have to look into my local County and City to see how they dispose of their used coroplast signs maybe they would let me go around and pick some up.
I like! I am going to Build this for our Ford Ranger! Solved our never ending issue of a camper shell, affordability and ease of removing!
This is just art, takes a lot of creativity. I'm glad youtube can be the museum
Been following your channel for quite some time now, I love almost everything you do, thank you for awesome cheap cozy content
I love your compact Travel Cabin, its light, bright, airy and ergonomic, elegantly simple and simply elegant!
Just waiting on the plans! Thanks for sharing!
Ingenious
This is _fantastic._
Personally I would have loved one that had an arch from the front of the bed to standing height at the tail gate, but it's still really really nice as is.
omg that ending lol
🤣Thanks for the laugh at the end.
This is a fantastic design and the last bit was hilarious! 😂
Design, content and videography💡 brilliant!
Nice !
I'm glad I got camper shell given to me last fall, it needs a rear hatch built but should be an easy build.
Good work Sir. !!!
You’re insanely creative. Is there anything you can’t make out of coroplast? I guess that is what you call building a camper in a day. It’s damn cute.
I watched the bike camper video over a year ago. Best design ever! Then, I watched the mini speed boat video and loved it. But, I never realized it was the same guy!? Now I'm watching this truck camper. And, I'm thinking that this dude is the greatest!
As always, SIMPLY GENIUS!!
Absolutely adore this!
Nice job Paul. You keep me watching looks like fun. I look forward to more of your ideas.
You're doing all the things I want for the homeless and My kittykat friends! Thank You for sharing these cool ideas!
You're amazing Mr Elkins, wish we were neighbors.
Such a brilliant, creative man. Paul truly is the King Of Coroplast!
ingenuity with a great sense of humour

I always did love the way you did things man . That build is simple ,huge ,and all around bad ass keep em coming
This wins the internet for today!
Elegant design. From trying to sleep in the back of my truck I can tell that cross ventilation may be a problem.
Very cool design! I used to have a Frogi truck tent similar to this but it had an aluminum frame
Wow! Just speechless...
That is so fantastically simple, yet amazingly good. What more does anyone need?
Why do people spend megabucks on more complicated, bigger, harder to park, drive, maintain etc. vehicles?
Your videos give a lot of food for thought, and inspiration to follow. Thank you.
Thanks Geraldine. I always like to simplify things whenever possible.
You are a genius, it never ceases to amaze me how brilliant a mind you have.
Simple truck goes with simple camper. Excellent build/idea
Coroplast is so versatile. I have made several folding kayaks and dinghies as well as some furniture. My latest brainstorm is to make a 2 person steam room to warm up before swimming in my pool in these frigid florida winters.
Love the build man! But that location with the waves would make me want to go to the bathroom all the time LOL
Brillante esta nueva idea! Uruguay ,al Sur de America.saludos.
Fantastic ! I've been watching you tinker for years inspired me I have an ez-up 8x8 pro grade at last the tarping has given up 5 years later anyway I thought of your projects bought 11 sheets to fix er up , I can't find old signs any bigger than yard sale stuff . Wish me luck 😁
Possibly the first time in my life I've seen a speedometer that stops somewhere in the range of legal top speeds.
No the truck can go faster, GM just had extra speedos from other vehicles that happen to fit
I don't know why this one makes me think it, but I think I work too much. Another great project Mr. Elkins!
For cooler temps you could add the silver bubble foil insulation inside and would barely add any weight and keep it warm!
Oh wow, thank you for the incredible idea!!
Absolutely awesome! Great build Paul…inspiring!
You can use a garden sprayer for both a sink and shower, they have way better pressure with less work
Your such an ideas Man. Standing ovation from me to you on this one. Great idea for a backyard business. Paint and add the side of it. Sell them as kits. Cheers.
This guy's work and talent is amazing wow
That's brilliant, Paul! Great job!
I can’t wait till you release plans for this it’s such a great idea
Innovative and functional. Very nice Paul.
Really cool camper mate i am getting some great ideas from you as i am wanting to build one for my truck next year.
Have a great day
Choppersrule1
Good to hear from you! FYI, I'm hoping to have plans available for this soon on my website www.elkinsdiy.com/plans
That would be cool Paul i do visit you website regularly to see whats new. 👍
you really inspire me. I am 69, almost 70 and am working on a truck camper setup. I have been to several countries but would like to see the US more. I can only afford it by camping. Awesome job mister!!
Another fantastic video.
Very clever design!
I've followed your channel for along time and this is your best video !!!!! can I get some plans ?
You're the second person to ask in a short time. I believe plans will be available sometime next week on my website www.elkinsdiy.com/plans
Outstanding, congratulations that's a fantastic design I love it
A bug sprayer works nice for a shower also and for sink water. The kind you pump up.
I agree. A great simple alternative.
You make the coolest stuff
Nice job, Paul.
Thanks Jeffrey!
I am your follower from India... I like all your videos you are my inspiration for making camper van.
This is one of THE BEST!!!!!!!
The only thing I would change is I would use one of those Solar generators for the power. It is basically a massive Charging bank that can be recharged from a solar panel.
Ok the last part,,😲
LOL! I forgot to show the toilet. What better way than to demonstrate, eh?
Yes , that really looks like it will keep the bugs out ,
Well, you sir, are a genius.
Very cool as always because of you I always stop and think can I make that with corroplast
That last bit though! LOL
Awesome!!!!!!!!!
The very end of the video is hilarious!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You did it!!! Nice job!!!
Like it. Insulation against the Summer sun or cold
If this man is not declared as a National Treasure, then there is no justice.
Fantastic! Your ingenuity continues to supercede all expectations, just like your video & entertainment skills! Truly Impressive. Thank you for sharing :-)
Thanks for the nice compliment Bob! Much appreciated.
LMAO........You are a mad genius Paul!! Kudos
Very cool Paul
Nice job, very nice. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
Only thing it needs is something like a tipi liner, a cloth that hangs in front of the walls that keep your shadow from projecting on the side of the walls when the lights are on at night
I agree. That is the downside, but the white sheets create a nice indoor light during the day time. That I like!
Lol. Too funny. Nice build Paul.
Nice! I have been considering a similar mod to my truck once it is out of the shop... Thanks for the inspiration!
Fantastic idea
I'mma sour cream and salsa on my eggs person too!
I agree with Jack.
*King of Coroplast!*
Thanks Jennifer. It is a fun material to play with.
Such a cool video!

Use aluminum tape for ALL seams. It is VERY strong. Then paint it with camo paint and the sun turns it very COOL into a water tight alligator pattern!
bro you are so smart n creative
BRILLIANT!
Holy Crap, that's genius!!!!
Very well done.
