It does look like a perfect vaccation vehicle for young couples! If the first row of back seats could be converted into regular passenger seats, it could even acomodate the entire family until the kids are bigger. Definitely something with a lot of potential in foreign markets, especially since k-cars already gained a lot of traction in smaller businesses.
The lack of storage would become a problem really fast for any sort of long term use/travel. Where to store food and cooking utensils alone would probable take up most if not all of the storage he has. So while nifty for short weekend trips or something (a bit pricey to buy something like this for that) that's about all it's good for. Even a micro-camper you hook up the back of your car would probable provide more space. It is cute though and if it works for him, then more power to him.

What a cool little camper van. It looked very small at first, but once the popup was raised, it really did make it look a lot bigger. I also wasn't expecting it to have 2 beds inside, but it means you could leave the upper bed mostly made up, and leave the 'downstairs' for general living space. It’s gonna be a hard sell in USA because a Kei car is built with a max of 660cc engine or 64 horsepower, that’s smaller than most motorcycles here. Highway driving would be worrisome today, even though the VW Bus of the 70’s had similar engine power.
@@SteelHex There are older versions from the 90's now (not K cars though) that are diesel powered and they struggle to maintain highway speeds but they were build with 4WD and sit higher. It's hard to get them legal in some states though and there are import issues galore as you mentioned and it takes like 20 years sometimes before it's legal to even import them. (See the Toyota Hiace camper) Though for some people like me... I could never fit in something like this since I'm 6'3", I have enough issues fitting in US made RVs that are made for us taller people.

Nice little camper. Ideal for weekend breaks. The heating is also a god send as I hate being cold and miserable. Only think needed would be a TV or a small portable projector and some surround speakers, which can be usb charged and Bluetooth.
Awesome, I wish we had them in England, the steering wheel is even on the correct side for us, BTW I think the cupboard above the cab is to store the table.
Very cute, I was waiting to see where the toilet was, I half expected him to lift up the base of the passenger seat to reveal a hidden cassette toilet!
A lot of the Japanese campers do not include a toilet as (culturally) the idea of toilet in their car is quite abhorrent (or at least unacceptable). Modern campers are starting to include them, but for the Japanese, toilet use in public is not an issue. Most (or maybe all) establishments are quite hospitable in that respect. And most campers also do not feel the need to provide shower facilities because of the many onsens and sentos in Japan. In fact, my suspicion is that the Japanese get a camper, and then go and visit as many onsens as possible (their version of a "pub crawl" except with Onsens and over a few days at least). At least, that's what this non-Japanese has sort of figured out (or speculated). My dream is to caravan in Hokkaido. But....
Hi Coupy. I loved this video and enjoyed you looking so pleased with your new K-car camper. Please make some more new videos of your adventures, I would love to see more. Hi from Ireland..
Thank you for the English subtitles and showing us a Japanese camper van. It’s so fun to see how things are made differently in different places. Here in the United States they are made larger but the quality doesn’t seem to be as good as what that looks to be.
Powered cooler and toilet under rear seat would be great! Could get away with sink washes but could always have a solar shower a d fill it with warm water!
No need for toilets or shower in Japan.there are free clean public toilet everywhere, plus 24/7 convenience store toilets on almost every corners. And cheap onsen (~¥500) easily accessible, onsen are natural hot water spa or public bath (sento). Japan is the best for van life.

We are short would work for us. Everything is extra large in North America! All I can think of is the gas mileage it would get, love driving stick shift too!
It's a lovely van! It is well-designed. Thanks for sharing your experience with us! I probably don't have the courage to invest 3 million yen on a van without being able to test-drive it first, but Japanese reliability is legendary.
I love the layout of this little camper. It has so much space for such a small vehicle.
Wide angle lens.
Thanks for making such a thorough review! I'm amazed at all the little details that make this camper comfortable and practical. I enjoyed that you were so excited while recording the video! I could see your emotions through the screen. If you make another video, I'll be sure to watch it! 🙆🏻♀️
^^
I enjoyed the straightforward, detailed, and relatable presentation.
After watching many videos on American camping vans and trailers, I was surprised that the table was not part of the bed setup. Now, I wonder if the table can be used in another location too.
This vehicle has much potential. It is unfortunate that there is only one video. I am curious to know more about the use of the vehicle over the past year.

This little car is so cute and genius.
Now I wish we had these in the States, that'd be perfect for a road trip or 4 day get away! and at just under 26K dollars it's not a bad price.
probably not road legal in the US. unfortunately. hasn't been built to the US spec.
It’s gonna be a hard sell in USA because a Kei car is built with a max of 660cc engine or 64 horsepower, that’s smaller than most motorcycles here. Highway driving would be worrisome today, even though the VW Bus of the 70’s had similar engine power.
Agree!!
(See the Toyota Hiace camper)
Though for some people like me... I could never fit in something like this since I'm 6'3", I have enough issues fitting in US made RVs that are made for us taller people.
@@SilvaDreams I’m 6’4” and I would not fit either. Though the upstairs sleeping space would be perfect. I love sleeping higher up and on harder surfaces, along with the extra space I would love it up there. Anywhere else in that cabin would be extremely cramped though.
My first time seeing a K-camper like this, and it's awesome. You did a great job recording your experience and keep up the great work!
Always love Japanese campers. Tiny and practical with its fun challenges . Thx for translation as it makes the foreign video more interesting.

One could track down an import in the uk from a specialist,as it makes it easier.
Yeah, Japan and UK has steering on the right.
@@marinaau8551 Doesn't Japan have right side steering because of British influence from 100 years ago?
Very informative and entertaining. Thank you for sharing this with youtube.
Pure awesomeness!! I wish I could buy these in California
But....
Its not a toilet its stove
what a nice way to burn your butt
With all those windows to cover, maybe a separate closet would be better.
A 5 gallon bucket a 13 gallon trash bag and a nice wooden toilet seat.
Hi Coupy. I loved this video and enjoyed you looking so pleased with your new K-car camper. Please make some more new videos of your adventures, I would love to see more. Hi from Ireland..
All world:. Complex is beautiful.. Japan : simple is simply beautiful.. 👍👍👍
Pequeño pero muy bien equipado! Me encanta que sea tan compacto, perfecto para salir a acampar en cualquier momento. 👍
Saludos desde México 🇲🇽✨
Everything is so clean. No bums. No trash and no graffiti.
It's an amazing and convenient van. smart design, optimizing space and functions. thanks for your video. make more videos on your tours
Thank you for the English subtitles and showing us a Japanese camper van. It’s so fun to see how things are made differently in different places. Here in the United States they are made larger but the quality doesn’t seem to be as good as what that looks to be.
Having fun with small things.
Now all you need is a camp toilet and an out side shower and a camp refrigerator. 😃
And an ac, and a tv, and, and, and,…..🙄
@@sjefhendrickx2257.. and you forgot: a laptop, hairdryer, an clothes iron, and a dog, and a dog house, and a backyard..
yes man, some people never get the vibe of wandering with the minimum, it's a rare blessing to know when it's enough 🙏
@@glidentity yes, that is true, there are toilets literally everywhere, you dont find many in the middle of the night though.
I could quite happily live in one of these for the rest of my days . Brilliant design , well presented. Thank you : )
Congratulations! You have a lovely little camper!
This gives a whole new meaning to great things come in small packages. Now I want one! 😀

It is so convenient in this time of misery to have a home on wheels, cheap and well furnished.
I like that camper, looks nice
Love this camper. I’d love to have one here in the United States. That’s an amazing camper.
Good luck getting it adapted to driving on the right.
@@andrzej2501 there is a way to convert rh to lh drive 😅
@@zodiac-x91l you can also just leave it like it is and drive it that way, it’s a mild inconvenience at the most. :-)
Cool camper, wish we had this in the U.S. can't wait for your next video.
why cant we have stuff like that in england no one wants oversized campers anymore, there out of date, with all the awning accessories etc theres no need and most people cook outside in the awning anyway, mint camper
You are not allowed to have nice things. Ask Starmer.
Are you a Professional Car Reviewer. If not you should be! A great review, I liked the preview introduction. Then following review, exterior, interior shots. Tiny, compact but everything you need for a little camping trip.
I missed the bathroom but I was scrolling...
You have to buy a bigger one if you want a bathroom.
It's so cute! Life would seem so simple getting to live in a place like that. Of course it would be more complicated because of where you are allowed to stay parked, and also more complicated because of how you could receive mail. And I can't drive because of disability, so I can't have one anyway. But it looks lovely, and so much cheaper than a house.
Where to use the bathroom, too?
@@vermontsmostobesetubaplaye1988 that's a good question tho.

You did a great job on your video - informative & well filmed 👍🏻
I remember the excitement of getting our first travel trailer and I could feel that with you too!
I bet little people would love this thing. They wouldnt feel so overwhelmed by the large dimensions of a normal suv/camper
It has a manual transmission! Awesome! I Love my Honda Civic with 5-speed!
Yours has 4WD! That's always handy for camping! And the retro styling is great! The sliders on the dash remind me of older vehicles but that's definitely a *Good* thing!
I love the round windows, it reminds me of an 80s conversion van from here in the US! Thanks much for this tour of your new vehicle!

The additional bed is amazing. ONe of the best van built I've ever watched.
Japan is the best country for so many reasons and this is one of them, forward thinking engineering
I really like that RV, it would be great to camp in. Its nimble enough that you wouldnt have problems parking and you wouldnt have to have a drag along car or motorcycle. Very nice, and the 4x4 feature makes it all that much better.
I love how it has subtitles, thank you
Can't imagine how insanely popular these would be in the states.
Amazing! I think the EU would love these small campers. Especially for the younger generation! - If they do not sell them here yet, i can imagine i will need to build a micro van
We can't get anything nice in the EU. Too many rules a restrictions. 😞
@@bengillen1287 These little things which actually seems to be 'green' (and smart in usage) are nono, but stupid 2 ton SUV hybrids surely will save the environment over here...
Slowly we can't even find an A segment car, everything is SUV here in 'greenworld'...
This camper seems like a death trap if you get in an accident. This would not never get through EU safety regulations
Best thing I've seen in a long time. That on top op of a trusty Daihatsu platform.
What a neat camper vehicle! Thank you for sharing.
We need these here in the states. The “second floor” was a surprise! Makes it comfortable for 2 people, no problem.
Hope too..
Best buy, but i cringe whenever you over rev in 1st gear whenever you move off from stationary position. Just take her out easy and the gear box clutch plate will last you longer slightly. 😘😘😘😘😘
It’s a 660cc. They have to be revved. It’s completely normal and most redline at around 8000rpm so far from thrashing it.
@@christophedecavalla2941 Not without a load in 1st gear. Perhaps you're right but under these circumstances it's kinda pointless
@@christophedecavalla2941 oof. yeah i have a 993cc suzuki car, drive like you stole it, cus there is no torque at all if you dont. still my golden standard of a fun car. there was a buy making cam regrinds that had power up to 9k rpm, hehehe.

That feeling when this small K-camper has 4WD transmission while a lot of crossovers are only 2WD…
Thank you for sharing this video and for English subtitles! I wished this K-camper was available in Germany. The upper bed is long enough for me.
Nice design
Awesome, there's a surprising amount of space in this little thing
yeah, i think so, too.. It'soneof the best tiny camper van I've ever seen... head and shoulders above all the tiny vans I have watched on youtube..
This is the cutest camper ever! Well done on your purchase and thank you for the introduction to it :)
Beautifully made small camper. Enjoy!

I love how there is a seat belt on the living space bench in the back. Being the passenger on a road trip would be so comfy.

Width: 101 cm

Hight(me) : 190 cm
Next morning, I won't be able to stand up.
Wow, seeing the Japanese version is really a huge difference between the Indonesian version. In Indonesia the acceleration pedals are close to each other. Which the Japanese version are much more comfortable. Also the radio in Indonesia you only get a single din radio, rather getting the 9" inch version like yours. Pretty cool modification though.
I would absolutely buy something like this in the USA, IF it was capable of comfortably cruising at 70mph and got 35 mpg. Beautiful rig! Thank you for your review!!!
Do you think 35mpg is good? I’d be devastating if my car got less than 45 to the gallon. 😂
I have a German VW Caddy. I'd love a K-Truck one day
