I'm such an idiot. I built a whole system of underground metro stations and tracks, but couldn't figure out why nobody was using it. Didn't know I had to draw routes.

I did the same with busses. Lol I was so confused why no one was using the bus stations.

Usually you need the distance of 3 nodes when making railway intersections imo. It will leave enough space for a train to wait before the intersection and other trains can still pass infront or behind it based on your intersection layout.
Metro is my favorite public transpiration option.
For me its the monorail mainly because i have no idea how to use the metro
I got the game because it gave me an AoE vibe, but without war haha. I was about to dive in when I noticed you really just dive into the game! Yes please! I’m a bit of a moron when it comes to sorting out traffic. Bigger roads does not mean problem solved apparently 😂
I always had problems with the entrance to the city. I cut off industry and did it's own exit. So much better

This video answered my question regarding cims using connections between lines. Wasn't sure that it was the case
Your garbage trucks now have to go onto the freeway to get to your city. Put a heavy traffic ban on the road going to the industrial area instead of removing it
I kept the roundabout access and still added the new exit 👍🏻

These little shorts are better then the long ones (less distracted, also better to take in the info 😁). Also love this series. It is helping me a lot to understand some basic stuff and get some insight in things I haven’t tried yet.

You can have a 2 lane one way road going in opposite directions with the elevated rail in the middle of the roads
Thank you so much for making these. I'm just getting in to the game and watching them all. They have been a massive help. One thing I was curious about, when I first unlocked things like 4 lane road with trees, I started upgrading all my roads to cut down on noise pollution. Is this something other people do as well? It seems worth while for the small price difference.

The under ground metro is probably more cause it is underground. Harder to maintain I would assume.
How do you make the tracks underground? It’s only letting me make mine over ground
use the pageUp and pageDown buttoms. Works for roads also!

I don't like using Metro because you didn't used to be able to see it and now I am old and set in my ways so I never thin to use the above ground option.
did you install any other DLC transportation? I don't see any plane or monorail in my version.
How do you get a train on the tracks? I set up the stops but there’s a symbol of a rectangle with a red line through it and the train isn’t running. Do you know how to fix this

I have a question, so my metro is all above ground and makes one large loop around my city. I cannot get my metro trains to run. Any idea why? Thank you!
After you built the rails, did you define the lines? The icon all the way over to the right on the metro objects tab. That’s most often what people miss. If you made the lines, make sure any bends where tracks connect are soft, and not too harsh. Zoom in and see if the rails are actually connecting.

Questions, professor (can I call you that? :D). Why three different lines instead of one continuous line? Especially for such a short distance? Also, how far do you think the metro lines should be? As it is right now, I would normally plop down a single metro station for each neighbourhood, two if the neighbourhood is big enough and too long... Also, I second the use of cablecars. It's insane what you can do with them. I use them to aid transport over water, and my Cims would jump on them en masse with glee.
Thank you really useful! Can you upload a tutorial for a train intersection with 4 railways? Maybe in high density full city with a massive industrial area on PS4... I’m about to going crazy trying to fix train network in my city by following all tutorials on UA-cam!

Bro i had no idea you actually had to do the routs in the metro. I have had mine sitting around and nobody has been using them. I watched your video. Punched myself in the head a few times for not realizing. Set up the routs. When i finished an actual HOARD of people came out of it.
