FINALLY A HELPFUL Henna removal advice video. I’ve also used the lush henna and wanted to go back to my natural ash blonde and I’m the same, when I need to change my hair I DO!
Im watching this video for this same reason. Im naturally a light strawvberry blonde and would love to get back to a lighter color that's easier to keep up with
You may not be professional, but that’s a-okay. Your results look great & if you’re comfortable with how it looks and feels, then why does anyone else’s opinion matter? I remember when I had bright pink hair back when I was in HS, one of the staff ladies was really rude saying it was going to fall off.
I’ve been dying my own hair for over 10 years I hate it when people have a bf over your hair like you said I know my limits I know how to look after it when it’s dry and damaged it’s an experience and at the end of the day it’s only hair
Oh my goodness thank you for this video. I'm sat with an oil treatment on my hair to try and remove my henna but I only did 2 applications of LUSH caca rouge and historically have quite sturdy hair when it comes to bleach, especially when considering that I have virgin hair for about 4 inches, then 6 inches of henna and an inch of old bleach on some tips... I only had a lot of shedding from bleach when I tried to go from black to blonde in a day lol (I shaved my hair after that) I think I will try your method and hope it works out like yours (I want to go back to pink too!) Thanks again. UPDATE: The oil treatment didn’t do much... 😂 I then did two bleaches (two weeks apart) and then dyed pink over the top and it’s perfect! 🌸 After the first bleach it was quite orangey in the mid sections and pale blonde at the roots and on the very tips - I put pink over that and had like a dual tone peachy-pink sunset look for a couple of weeks while doing a hair mask two or three times a week before I bleached again. Then the blonde colour was pretty much an even pale blonde colour so the pink went over it really well ☺️🌸
I did this during lockdown to lighten my caca rouge (I didn’t know that the more you use henna, the darker it gets!!). So my hair is pretty dark now, I’m gonna lighten it with bleach and go over it with caca rouge to get that lovely bright copper I used to have!
This is what I want to do and how I ended up at this video! I use the caca rouge and was just going to bleach it and henna again after. Did you do it and how did it turn out?
Thank you much for this video. I've been using lush caca rouge for a while and I've been coconut oiling it in preparation to do a strand test soon with bleach! Thanks for sharing your experience.
So I really want to dye my ends blonde as a DIY dip dye , I currently have lush Rouge on my head , my hair stylist didn't want to do it because of the metallic salts frying the ends etc, but I'm tempted to try a box bleach after watching this video ! Besides , if it goes badly I can just Chop my hair off right ? (I did this same look 5 years ago, box red dye, box bleach, then I cut it into a Bob for a change lol!) Excited to see if I can do something like that now ! (I know my dip dye won't be ombre but at least two colours will be fun !)
Scouring the interweb for videos on bleaching out henna and I’m glad I’ve found yours. I used henna on my hair in April, it’s now nearly December. I figure it’s probably safe to bleach and do a color change. I’m going for a different, slightly lighter red so if I go gingery and orangey I won’t be upset at all.
Lush henna doesen't contain metalic salts. Henna overall doesen't contain it, only boxed henna you buy in drugstores which usually comes in powder form. It's not natural ingridient in plant it's just added in some forms of henna hair color. If you are bleaching hair after henna especially after metalic salt henna you should wait at least 3 months to bleach and even after normal henna cause it can look weird. Henna won't come off Xd. Just dont use henna if you won't comit to it. And if you wanna change color every few days just don't do it.
Marija Ivanić I mention that Lush henna doesn’t contain metallic salts in the video, that’s why I was confident enough to dye my hair to a lighter shade and specify that you need to be careful bleaching henna because it can contain metallic salts. I wouldn’t have bleached my hair if I wasn’t confident enough I could get it to a colour I was happy with. I used henna to bring some life back to my hair and I’m glad I did it, I loved the colour but I wanted a change. I’m not inflicting this on everyone, people can decide how long they want their own hair a certain colour. If you are not harming others then I don’t see why you can’t do what you like.
Oh sorry if I offended you, just wanted to clarify metalic salts thing 'cause I dye my hair regulary with henna. Your video both on how to dye and this one were very educational.
Also for anyone who wants to dye hair with it and wants to avoid henna mess everywhere it's best to sit naked in bathtub and paint your hair there and wrap it there - easier to clean everything.
For German/ European Viewers: Boxed Henna that is certified as ecological is not allowed to contain anything except of pure plant powder. Sante etc is safe to do this
@@Holunderfaerie Thank you so much for telling this. Really scared to use bleach, but I want to get rid of the henna also. Tried coconutoil and vitamine c with dandruff shampoo, but it does not help much and my hair is getting very dry. Of course bleaching makes the hair also dry, but you don't have to do it over and over again...
I did one henna application. Pure pure Henna and i hate it. Im so tempted to dye over it but i just did that two days ago. I only left it on 1:30 hours. If i go dark brown you think it will cover a orange brown hair?
Maybe rather look up some toners which are extra to counteract with for ex. orange hair. They work with a base of the complementary color for hair and so you can get rid of it!
pure henna takea a few days to settle and calm down to a less vibrant colour. the initial colour you end up with to begin with will look a little crazy for the first few days.
I’m actually about to do this now.. I’ve been researching for months now.. I’ve only used henna twice.. I’ve done a strand test month ago and no crazy reactions happened.. I used the henna guys henna. I guess we’ll see what happens. Lol
Lauren Gifford oh no! I’ve had my share of hair fails so I know the feeling. I shaved my head entirely one time to get rid of it! Growing out a buzz cut is hard work, I have many many wigs lol. However, I did this myself before you replied, but I had used Lush’s henna and it has gone fine and I now have pink hair! I hope you’re able to grow yours back to a length you like nice and fast 💕
PewterHeart 😱 you actually buzzed it?? You’re definitely brave! lol I said I’ll do it but I never could! I just got my hair cut super short AGAIN LOL.. let’s hope this is it and I can start growing it out nice & healthy!!
So I used lush henna rouge. I did one bleach for half and hour 40vol it has gone a bit ginger but I actually really like it and it pretty even just be carful with those roots!
I have to admit the henna colour really really suited you. I watched this video to remove henna from my hair but seen the ginger on you I now want caca rouge lol
Shya Rose Cooper it will still react. It‘s the pigment in the henna that makes it really hard to bleach it. Especially if you use pure henna powder the colour pigments will be a lot stronger and bleaching it will be a lot harder:)
I'm wondering about this question as well still... The maker of this video thinks it's just the metallic salts added that cause the burning reaction. There's a difference between hair being a bit harder to bleach/lighten and it frying the hair. I don't know what's true but I used all natural organic henna powder with nothing added. I think I will try to lift it out if oil treatments will maybe help do that. I want to get balayage highlights... I think maybe we should start with a strand test? I'm nervous by hearing that henna-ed hair will be destroyed by bleaching it.
I have been waiting to dye my hair after using about 4 layers of Henna, and I am just looking around. I have gotten the henna to fade/wash out a bit with oil masks and sulfate shampoo and it was originally a burgundy now I can see some slight red colors coming through. I know it is going to take awhile to get back to my natural color, but I am concerned to dye it because of all of the "henna horror stories". The only henna I have ever used is light mountain natural and I can't find a video about people dying after that product, and I don't want to have my hair turn green haha. So I kinda need a little help.
Hannah Naylor not sure if it’s still in your hair but I bleached over light mountain henna! My roots which were virgin hair before henna went a very yellow slightly orange color that easily could’ve been toned down to blonde after a bit. The ends which had bleached hair underneath previously went bright orange. Hair just needed an oil treatment to get back to shape. Only thing I’d suggest is stand testing and keeping an eye on it as it bleached. And don’t put it in a bun or heya cap like people like to do during bleaching. I originally had mine in a bun and cap like I normally do but it got extremely hot that way so I let the strands hang down which made the bleach dry and be not as effective faster but I felt safer than keeping t in the bun just in case. It went from a deep dark red to the bright light orange within a half hour I believe? And that was 4 applications of henna
I think henna is great, I got such a vibrant rich colour. That was also really unique! I got so many compliments but I like to be more flexible with my hair, I like to change it up so for that reason I probably wouldn’t do it again!
Hi! I wanted to ask u something... I used 100% henna on my hair three times since January. Now it’s almost April and I finally convinced my mom to let me dye my hair blue. So the problem is: do you think I can bleach my hair now? What color will I have then? I want my hair to be blue sooo badly 😇❤️ thanks for ur help!
I would say no. Not like I think it's a bad idea, but just really unlikely to get to blue. Thats a lot of henna in just a few months. That will be hard to remove to a fully white bleach. From previous experience of trying to get blue hair, unless it is properly white any yellow tone is going to make it go a green colour rather than blue. Just FYI
Cara Aoibh thanks for your response. I am currently in quarantine so I’ll have to wait until this ends. Actually I texted my hairdresser... he said that we could Try to wash the henna off my hair and then, since blue is a primary color, try to dye my hair. Hope it works
Heidi Vuorio no prob 💜 so... I did not have any problems in terms of bleaching fortunately, in fact after bleaching my hair it looked really yellow and the henna was completely gone. I did a purple “balayage” and I was so happy with it❤️
What is your natural hair color ? Blond or brunette? I’m a brunette and had pure henna on for three years. I have not reapplied in over a year and have since had 2 Vodka treatments and am now ready to go pink. Thanks for this video!
Has anyone dyed their hair with henna in a way that they only dye the ends ? How difficult it is to do that? I have light blonde hair and I'm thinking I'd like to add a hue to my ends and blend it out and not dye the whole head. Another way is probably just a stripe somewhere or something...
I used the light Mountain Natural Henna like 3 months ago and my hair is a natural ash blonde and my roots are now blonde and the henna was super dark red and I hate it now and trying to get it out I tried to get it out and dyed over it turned strawberry blonde but now it back to a darker red again. I just want to know if the henna I used had metallic salts is in it. I read the ingredients and it only has three ingredients no metallic salts so I just want to know if anyone used this products and gotten it out
Jacqueline Edwards my light mountain henna has 3 ingredients but they’re all natural and a blend for a lighter red. It’s henna, cassia, and alma which are other plants you mix in with henna to change the tone. Light mountain has no metallic salts or chemicals at all. I personally bleached over mine when I used a too dark shade and it was fine though it does bleach to a light orange instead of yellow

Does the coconut oil work ? i have had the lush caca rouge for almost 3 months but want to work on getting it out.
Would anyone recommend henna on bleached blonde hair ?
Did you bleach it? How did it turn out? I wanna bleach my hair too after I used henna months ago
if you use henna on bleach blonde hair it will probably turn very very bright orange

I just did mine (same henna from Lush) I look like freakin Naruto now xd
PewterHeart not so good! It’s been a few months and I’m just now getting my gAir to grow back.. had to chop a ton off! It was so bad.. ugh.

French people : "caca rouge"...? Who came up with that name? ._.
🙏🏻 thank you
I think “red poop”.
So glad u were able to remove it ok
I just wanna say thank you for this video you saved me a lot of research and now I know my hair wont have a funny reaction since i used the same henna
The new colour looks amazing on you !
Does it work in hair with henna ?
Don't trim keep the length you have it's pretty, just add weekly treatments .
How did you get that exact wave in your hair?
I just used my nume curling iron and then brushed it out x
I made my own henna dye from 100% natural henna powder. Does this mean there are no metallic salts, and that it won’t react adversely with bleach?

That would look so pretty. You could use complementary burgandy and strawberry blonde henna's.
Natural Henna should only have 1 ingredient
Light mountain says they don’t use ammonia or metallic salts online
Hannah Naylor Exactly. I use light mountain naturals. This comment is exactly why you should read up on henna before using it. It isn't for everyone
Jacqueline Edwards my light mountain henna has 3 ingredients but they’re all natural and a blend for a lighter red. Does anyone know if you can mix Lush caca rouge & maroon? My hair is very right blonde and i'm not sure if i want this bright orange :D
I did and it's gone a brassy colour that I personally hate .
I can't place your soft accent. Where are you from? :)
it sounds kind of bristol-y.

I loved your video!
Too dry hair and no info/ show how to do it.
Or maybe find another product that would work well
