  • In this video we look at the basic difference between single finger and fingered chord playing. This is aimed at beginner keyboard players who are wondering about the best method to learn, and shows the best position and technique for your left hand. This applies to any make of electronic keyboard - Casio, Yamaha, Roland, Korg, etc.
I cover some music theory, talking about chord inversions, and the notation and chord symbols that appear on the screen will help you understand this aspect of keyboard playing more easily.
    Enjoy your keyboard playing!

One thing that is confusing to me is that some sources call middle c, c3 and others insist it is c4. Very much enjoyed this and all your other videos.

Nice introduction. For more advanced chords such as 7th/maj7/dim/9th/b9 and so on the manual has a good overview in the appendix. It even has a table for all the different keys, though for some I might need to change the split point or chord point (manual pages 50-51). The interpretation of fingered key presses is also dependent on the chord mode that I can select through the function key, explained in the manual on pages 48-50. Perhaps in the future there will be an advanced video on these topics?
