I just have a change to test out the CTX-3000 at a friend's home. I had great feel about this keyboard after going thru many reviews (even comparing it with the Yamaha PSR-E463). However, I was disappointed. Here are my short experiences: 1) the rythm do not sound as lively as the Yamaha E463 2) FILL-in works pretty weird, you must push the variation button for the current variation to get a drum fill. For example, if you are playing variation B, you must push "B" to get drum fill. If you push C, the keyboard simply switch to variation C without drum fill. Must look thru the hundred pages manual to figure this out !!! This could be a PLUS or MINUS depending on personal preferences. 3) I test a few rythms, latin Cha-cha for example, it's so boring in all 4 variations, drum feel is not lively. 4) all guitar voices sound bad, so are all sax voices (compare to the E463). 5) hold ACCOMP and push RYTHM will select the default voice for that rythm. It could be what you want or not. And the auto-accomp may turn OFF, so watch the screen carefully. Why not hold down RYTHM & TONE which is a more logical combination ??? The good parts are: 4 variations, separate INTRO button so you can replay the intro while playing the song. The ENDING button is also separate. I am teaching my friend's son to play this keyboard, so will have opportunity to play around with it for more times. I will update what I found.
