  • This is a follow up to the Fingered Chords video, specifically related to the Casio CT-X3000 and CT-X5000.
There are several Chord Modes which allow you to specify how the keyboard responds to your left hand chords. If you play fingered chords then No. 2 FINGERED 1 is probably the best and most common option. But if you want the keyboard to create a more advanced bassline, then No. 4 FINGERED ON BASS and No. 6 FINGERED ASSIST are very useful settings. The bassline will then start to sound a little more natural. You can even store your Chord Mode settings as part of your Registration, so you can change how the keyboard responds within a single song, all with a single key press.
    Enjoy playing your keyboard!

This entire series is excellent and as a new owner very helpful. I hope you will continue to offer videos on the ct-x 3000!

Thanks. You're officially the designated "driver" for the CTX 3000 carpool.

Not sure I need that level of responsibility! "Gearing up" for more videos.

@@StewartWallaceSJWMusic Let me just say that you have inspired me to pick up the manual and try things out again. It looks less daunting (that's an odd old word). You give good tips: like the finger on bass mode to play slash chords. They're much appreciated.

@@alanakimkings....2644 Not sure I understand the question. There are two kinds of "Reset.:" "Factory," and "Settings" reset (see page 118 of the manual).
Press "Function, " use left/right arrows to display "Other"
Press "Enter" and use arrows to display "Reset"
      Press "Enter:"
The Menu shows "Setting" or you can use arrows to get "Factory"
Press "Enter" to change either. A Factory reset will restore everything to how the keyboard came out of the box - it will clear all songs, and edited tones and rhythms from memory so make sure tha'ts what you want to do.

You may have already discovered this, but make sure you're not using SYNCHRO STOP - otherwise it will stop when you lift your left hand from the keyboard. There are some occasions when you will want to use that feature, but most of the time you will probably want to leave it turned off. Check out the manual page EN-48. All the best.

Hi Stewart, Bala here. I just bought a CTX 9000In (Indian version of CTX 5000). I am wondering how to bring the 7 dominant, diminished, and augmented chords from this keyboard? Also, how to bring the sus-2 / sus-4 chords using this keyboard? Is there any work around, as the accomp section has five chord parts?

Hi Bala. Firstly, I'm REALLY jealous you've got the CT-X9000IN. It's unavailable directly in the UK, which is a great shame. I think there would be a lot of people who would buy and use them here - including me!
Anyway, I don't completely understand your question. According to the CT-X9000IN manual it responds to the same chords as my CT-X3000. I can play dominant 7ths, diminished, augmented, sus2 and sus4 chords. But I don't think I'm answering your question. Let me know a little more detail and I'll try to find an answer for you if you're still struggling.
      All the best.

Hi Stewart. How do I play right hand with grand piano voice and have same voice in left hand and use Casio chord and using the same voice and not have the sound distorted but which uses the same pure voice . Particularly with piano I want the Casio chord to sound like pure piano

When ACCOMP function is turned on the keyboard generates a chord sound consisting of bass, keys and strings just to show you that it's ready and primed. That's even before you start a RHYTHM playing, and it has no bearing on the final sound of chosen RHYTHM pattern.
To do what you require you can create a SPLIT and then set that instrument to anything you like, including piano. You can even change the octave, so it's not too deep and heavy. If you don't want to hear some of the ACCOMP instruments, you can mute some of them.
But that setup ACCOMP sound is always going to be there (unless you turn off all the parts).
I hope that I've understood your question correctly, and that's what you need. If not, let me know.

Hi Stewart, its me Bala again. I do have a question on how to bring fast repeating notes on a tone using a single key press. What is the configuration for the delay function for this? Thanks. Bala

    • @StewartWallaceSJWMusic
      @StewartWallaceSJWMusic  2 роки тому

The DSP delays can be set in milliseconds increments, so you can have the delay repeats very close to the original signal. It gets a bit busy though and doesn't always sound that great. If you want a repeating effect, better to use the ARPEGGIATOR - 131 = REPEAT1; 132 = REPEAT2. These will repeat notes and the speed is governed by the tempo, so if you increase the tempo they will quicker. If the tempo is 240 and you play single notes, it's like a tremolando which means "trembling". 045 = 8 BEAT gives a good effect on chords. Try it and see if any work for you.
