    Hello everyone! Welcome back to our channel. We appreciate you taking the time to join us today. In this video, we're going to delve into a topic that affects many people worldwide: What happens when you decide to go 'No Contact' with a Narcissist. This is a question that many people ponder over, curious about the thoughts and perceptions of the narcissist when you choose to cut off all communication with them.
    Now, the reaction of the narcissist largely depends on the duration you've been associated with them. Have you been with them for years or just a few months? How deep and long-standing is your relationship with this individual before you decided to go 'No Contact'? The longer you've known the narcissist, the better you'll understand their behavioral patterns.
    Generally, when you go 'No Contact' with a narcissist, here's what transpires. You stop communicating with them; you go 'No Contact'.
    This leads the narcissist to believe that if you wish to reconnect, the responsibility lies with you. In the initial stages, the narcissist is likely to be resilient. They believe that they can break you down. This is their thought process: "I'll make you succumb to my will because I won't be the one to chase after you". They perceive themselves as superior, believing that you will eventually crumble and reach out to them.

    Don't get confused by the lovebombing or sweettalk, they never mean that, they only use it to manipulate you.

      Stayed to work things out after financial infidelity in 2017. She lied and said she was paying off her bills so we could buy a house. I asked every 6-8 months how her finances were going and for three years she said “it’s going good!” Got a knock at the door and chase bank was serving her papers to PAY UP! Found out she was $60,000 in debt! Fast forward 2021 caught them in an affair with a young coworker. Went total no contact after that. Im only sharing because be aware financially irresponsible is a huge red flag! I missed it and want people to know look into their finances because they lie about the money!!!

    No it’s not that they didn’t care for you as much as you thought, it’s that they didn’t think you would ever actually leave. They want the power and want to avoid accountability. They don’t want to chase especially if they think you will… so they will wait you out for as long as they can. Until they are forced to reach out after realizing that they are not going to win this.

    • @NarcPedia
      @NarcPedia  6 місяців тому +10

      You've made a very astute observation about the dynamics often at play with narcissistic individuals. It's true that the power dynamic and avoidance of accountability are central to their behavior. They often miscalculate the resilience and resolve of the person they are trying to control. It's a form of manipulation, expecting the other person to cave in. Recognizing this pattern is a crucial step in breaking free from their influence. Thank you for sharing your insights-it's a valuable reminder to stay firm in one's decision and not to engage in their games. Your input adds depth to the conversation and can help others understand what might be happening in their own relationships.

    I recently cut off ties with a narcissist. I was in denial that he was one at first, but then slowly but surely the signs appeared. As an empath, he often took advantage of my emotions and played the victim. He was only nice to me when he benefited from it, but his lack of empathy taught me that he wouldn't hesitate to cheat on me and lie to me. The worst thing is that I felt guilty the whole time, and it took a serious event for me to realize he has been using me for his own gain the whole time. Now the worrying has started because he is my colleague and will probably start gossiping about me. I don't want to create unnecessary drama, but I feel like if it doesn't stop then I will have to go to the HR department. And still I find that hard because I have the tendency to protect the one I love, but in this case I will have to be ok with the fact that I am allowed to defend myself. In my other relationships we always managed to end things on a positive note, but I tried with him and it just made it worse as it was a reason to overstep my boundaries again. Doorslamming is hard, but it seems that it is the best thing to do with a narcissist. And I need to remember, it was him, not me. To everyone here: it is not your fault!

    You can almost always situate so the person absolutely cannot find you again to come back around. That’s going no contact. It can be a scary step but if you allow them back in you will regret it bitterly. This person is very troubled to be doing this stuff and they won’t change. No matter if 50 yrs goes by they will still be the same using person. They won’t have an epiphany of how they blew it and now they’re sorted out. Makes me laugh thinking about that.

However, it's also natural that, especially in the beginning, it might take some time to reach that level of detachment. Healing is a process, after all. You've highlighted a very real and difficult aspect of these situations. When children are involved, no contact isn't always possible. It's a delicate balance to maintain your own wellbeing while managing interactions for the sake of the kids. It's also a legitimate concern that narcissistic behavior could influence the children, which is why it's so vital to provide them with a counteracting environment of empathy and healthy boundaries. Seeking professional guidance can be crucial in navigating this complex dynamic. Your awareness and concern for your children's emotional development are important. Shame - that gnawing sense of being flawed, defective, and unworthy of love - drives us to construct a self that we think (or hope) will be acceptable to others. Being rejected, banished, and humiliated are among the most painful human experiences. We may perpetuate our anxiety and exhaust ourselves trying to use our intelligence to figure out who we need to be in order to win the acceptance and love that we crave. Rather than relax into our natural, authentic self, we twist ourselves into knots in order to belong and feel safe.

And they will ignore or give you breadcrumbs back and you will start to think that something is wrong with you and there the game starts! They get dopamine of it to see you in pain and questing everything!
      Eventually they are using you to project their shame, quilt etc so no blame to them.

    I stayed in contact and up my boundaries cause we have kids together but their grown kids. Our son still stayed with him. Worse mistake. They don’t do boundaries or take No. it inflicted a narc injury. He then told kids he’s can’t come to their house anymore cause of me. All I stated was for him to stop trying to sleep with me. He use to spend the night to get ride to work. BS, but I couldn’t sleep well when he was here. Wake to use restroom or wake from sleep and he’s up starting at me or over me starring. It was weird and I felt very uncomfortable

    • @NarcPedia
      @NarcPedia  7 місяців тому +1

      Navigating boundaries with a narcissist can be incredibly challenging, especially when children are involved, no matter their age. It's unfortunate that your boundaries have been met with such a negative response, but it's important to remember that setting these boundaries is not only for your well-being but also serves as a model for your children.
      It's clear you made the right call for your personal safety and comfort, and it's regrettable that it's led to him using access to the kids as leverage. This is a manipulation tactic, and it's vital to stay firm in your boundaries. You might consider seeking the support of a professional therapist or legal counsel to navigate this complex situation, especially if it's impacting your relationship with your children.
      Remember, you have every right to feel safe and comfortable in your own home. Your feelings and boundaries are valid. Stay strong and take care of yourself.

Examine yourself, set your BOUNDARIES know your worth and walk away . . . Allowing other people to abuse you is a sign of low esteem . Love and abuse can never exist in the same space . Congratulations on your two weeks free from 'Demon Dave'! As for your question, it can be quite complex. Narcissists can often be very good at concealing their true nature, especially from those they wish to impress or manipulate. It's possible that his mother may be unaware of his actions or behavior. As for his ability to love, it's hard to say without knowing him personally. Narcissism can often affect a person's ability to truly empathize and connect with others, including family members.
