🔴Why a Narcissist's Discard Is Nothing But an Illusion | Narcissism | NPD

Thank You!
Hello everyone, welcome back to our channel. Today, we are going to discuss a very important topic that many people experience when they are in a relationship with a narcissist. If you have ever been involved with a narcissist, you probably know that much of what you experience is based on deception. But how can you discern what is real and what is merely an illusion? As you may know, narcissists often live in a world that blends fantasy with reality, creating a very thin line between the two. One crucial aspect of this dynamic is the concept of "discard." This is the main focus of our discussion today.
So, what exactly does "discard" mean in the context of a relationship with a narcissist? Discard refers to the moment when a narcissist abruptly leaves or ends the relationship without any explanation. It can be incredibly confusing and hurtful. You may find yourself wondering what happened and where the narcissist has gone. They often do not provide any answers, leaving you in a state of uncertainty. You might be left feeling lost and bewildered, asking yourself, "What is going on?"
This experience of discard can feel like a harsh reality, but it often remains an illusion. You might find yourself questioning whether this is truly the end of your relationship. After all, narcissists have a tendency to return. You may hear from them again, which raises even more questions. Does their return mean that the breakup was not real? Or does it indicate that something deeper and more complicated is happening? Perhaps you thought you had reached a definitive conclusion, only to be contacted again by the narcissist, asking if you are okay or even liking your posts on social media. This behavior can be deeply puzzling.
So, let’s delve deeper into this idea that "discard" is an illusion. When I say it is an illusion, I mean that it is not based in reality. There is often no clear truth to the situation. You may find yourself grappling with questions like, "Are we really broken up?" or "Is this person going to come back into my life again?" This uncertainty can make it very difficult to find closure.
In a typical relationship, when two people break up or have an argument, there is usually a clear understanding that the relationship has ended. You say goodbye, and that is that. However, when dealing with a narcissist, the situation can be much more complicated. You might find that even after weeks, months, or even years, the narcissist reaches out again. This can leave you feeling confused and questioning the nature of your relationship. Why would someone who has discarded you suddenly want to reconnect? What does it all mean?
Sometimes, we may find ourselves hoping that the narcissist has realized the mistakes they made and is genuinely apologizing for their past behavior. However, this assumption is often misguided. In reality, when a narcissist reaches out again, it is rarely accompanied by a sincere apology. Instead, it is more of a circling back to maintain control over the situation. This is a crucial reason why I emphasize that the experience of discard remains an illusion; because, fundamentally, the narcissist is not truly finished with you. The relationship is not over in the way you might think.

A narcissist repeats the same toxic patterns. They’re incapable of sustaining themselves….because they are their own problem. Happiness is not optional. They are constantly frustrated & drained. Let us empaths accept that we made the wrong choices from the go get . . . The red flags were always there but we chose to ignore them out of desperation to be loved. Who tje narc moves on with is of no value , whether they downgrade or upgrade is inconsequential. They are moving on with their lives as we sit here wondering about their new supply 😂😂😂

I dont know if this is meant to be validation for the victims . . . We stuck in those relationships because we were desperate , and hang onto an unhealthy person in the name of being an empath . . . We wanted a relationship by any means . . . Thats a problem right there . .

They were walking along the road, he was looking at her and smiling. How has he found happiness when I am still ruminating and in pain? I gave too much, he had nothing. I cared, supported, accommodated, fetched and carried, lent money. We fell out every week because of his disrespect and toxic comments. He always persuaded me to let him back. He was definitely grooming the next person who he went to within days. He downgraded me for someone with young kids, works part time and i hear a filthy little house. It doesn't make sense.

When I said I had enough, the narcissist wanted to kill me even more so.. Be careful of what you say when standing up to a narcissist. I was with her for 15 years.. It finally started to sink in, I'm grateful to be safe again in life

Great video as always. But the closure THEY NEEDED 😮..plus. in my case it was never upgrades. It was DOWNGRADES....i always said too her a few times at the first couple Hoover mistakes. You will never have commitment because you want to do what you do. When you do. How you do it AND you'll walk over anyone to get what you want. You Lie. CHEAT. Steal AND Take....i do agree i did tell her you put the S in Selfish...Stay Educated AND Dedicated. Break the Trauma Bonding.....❤❤

Some Narcissist were over validated by their Mommy, The Golden Boy who could do no wrong. Regardless, he definitely had to present a Persona & still does
