    A much more easier way to punch in the holes on your baby blanket is to first serge the edge of the blanket all the way around. Then on your sewing machine sew a hem stitch all the way around the blanket just above the serging stitches. To sew a hem stitch you use a wing needle. Once you have your hem stitch completed it will be very easy to begin crocheting your lace edge onto the blanket. Once finished it looks absolutely professional.

      Thank you for sharing. I'm not so clued up with sewing. It is one of the things on my bucket list...to do a course in sewing. I was taught the basics at school only. Have a blessed week!!

      @@mildredrivera7978 Dear Mildred, the blanket that I am attaching the crochet border to, is already 'hemmed' so to speak because it is sold like that. I do not know what the sewing stitch is called, unfortunately, because sewing is not my field of expertise. If I would sew around a piece of flannel material I would use the blanket stitch that we were taught in school. My sewing machine has that stitch and we were taught in school that it stops material from unravelling. Have a blessed day.

    Wow! You can turn a run of the mill blanket in to something really pretty & unique!
    I would love to try this on the edges of the opening of my plain one colour pillow cases to pretty them up! Thank you so much for the inspiration ❤❤❤

    @OMGrannySquare I need some help finding your rotary cutter. Hobby Lobby doesn't carry one with that kind of blade instore. Do I look for one with that type of blade specifically?

    • @OMGrannySquare
      @OMGrannySquare  4 місяці тому +1

      I've posted a picture of the blade you need in the facebook group. OMGrannySquare Facebook group. Same name. You need a skip blade which will perforate the fabric. Walmart sells it, I see. I live in South Africa.

    I have never added a crochet boarder on a regular blanket before.

    • @OMGrannySquare
      @OMGrannySquare  2 роки тому

      I love doing it. I also like to line my blankets that I make and for that reason i would put a border on it so that i can connect the lining with the blanket.
