  • Hello everyone! Welcome back to Crochet with Lisa.
    In my video tutorial today I am going to show you how to crochet an easy shell border. You can use this border on any afghan or other crocheted project. This border starts with a foundation row of single crochet stitches all the way around. It also uses double crochet stitches. The sample in this video uses yarn that is a weight of 4 and a 5mm crochet hook.
    I hope you enjoy my video and find it easy to follow. Please like my video and subscribe to my channel to follow along with other great project.
    Happy crocheting!!

    I have tried and tried to follow you but find it so hard to - I rewind over and over again cuz it’s hard to see what you are doing and go so very fast!! I guess you are just more geared toward more experienced people.

    If we’re all starting at random places doesn’t it require math to figure out when you’re gonna hit that corner for the perfect corner shell?

      I figured it out. No it doesn’t require math just be mindful when you’re approaching the corners to figure out if you need to skip or decrease a stitch to fit nicely in that corner. I also just skipped one space not two between the shells and SCs. I like the look better. But I think her tutorial was very informative and my baby afghan has a beautiful shell border. Thank you!! 💕

    What if you want to do several rows of shells around the blanket in different colors?

    • @crochetwithlisa482
      @crochetwithlisa482  Рік тому +4

      After you finish the first color and fasten it off, you can pick any shell and begin with a sc in the middle dc of the shell with your new color. Then 5 dc in the next sc and 1 sc in the middle dc of the shell. Repeat this around, making sure to use larger shells for your corners so the corners can lie flat. Fasten off the second color and repeat this pattern for each new color. I hope this helps. 😊

      @@crochetwithlisa482Excellent video and beautiful border. I've read your comments on adding more shells and tried it numerous times but it's not working out for me. If possible would you consider doing a video and showing how to do it. I learn better watching you. Thank you.
