Crochet Tutorial: Granny Square Crochet Blanket 'Baby Blues' Part 1 of 6 (The 'LACY CROSS')

In this crochet tutorial I show you how to crochet the different squares for this Granny Square Baby Blanket. We start with THE LACY CROSS GRANNY SQUARE. This was a first for me - I've never made a square like this, but I was thoroughly pleased with the end result!

Will this work if I use a heavier wool? I have a whole heap of Caron One Pound wool that I'm looking for a project to use it in.
I'm sure it will work. The squares can be made in any yarn weight. I would assume that you're using the same weight throughout the blanket, so if you're using a 4 weight or heavier than I assume you're sticking to i.e. 4 weight for entire blanket, or 5 weight for entire blanket. Absolutely fine. Have fun!!
Ek sit en kyk nou na die blokkie se patroon en dit lyk heel maklik vir my... Kan ek double knit wol in plaas van 4 ply gebruik vir die blokkie?
Jip, vir seker. Jou blokkie sal net bietjie groter uitkom, soos jy kan dink. Bv, die blokke gemaak in hekelgare sal kleiner wees as in chunky wol, maar dit sal dieselfde patroon wees. Absoluut. Ek vat baie keer patrone en pas dit aan na gelang van my eie voorkeure. Ek is gek oor double knit. Ek gebruik dit in al die komberse wat jy op die video gesien het behalwe die baba kombersie (die shell stitch Rainbow Baby, wat natuurlik 'n ander patroon was). xo Die blokkie was vir my 'moeilik' omdat dit vir my 'nuut' was maar toe ek eers n paar gemaak het, dan kry jy die 'ritme'. Sterkte daar.
