There's bikes costing over 24 grand and then there's bikes like this costing buttons. We don't all want to cross continent's on a bike with more tec than a jet fighter or on a bike with your head down and bum in the air, some people just want to potter. It does you credit that you can see the benefits of all these different bikes, super video Kate.
Thanks Ian! I think there is a place for all bikes 😊
It still costs over 5 grand with a few accessories, not exactly "buttons" to me...
After a life of bikes, mainly large capacity, I went to try a big Honda NT1100 couple of years ago. . Took out a Scram and an Interceptor to see what all the fuss was about. Came back and traded my Z900RS in for the two REs.
After about 100 yards on the Scram I did nearly turn back to the dealer in disappointment, but I took advantage of the test ride and by return was totally sold on what is probably the second best bike I've ever owned.
Interested in your top speed tests. When I first got mine 65mph (indicated) seemed like the sound barrier. A few thousand on the clock and and it now hums easily to 65-70mph. I'd feel unsympathetic taking it much further although it doesn't baulk at 70mph on the clock now. I think - and the Interceptor is the same (but faster!) -REs are very tight out of the factory and really need to run in and bed in.
I adore the Scram, but it's hard to pin down why.
I Have a 2023 Scram 411 and after 1500 miles the bike is starting to loosen up and run a little better. I recomend bleeding the front brake because there can be some air int the ABS valve. After bleeding my brakes, the front brke was much better. The bikes are built heavy duty and with just a few tube and UA-cam you can do the maintenance your self. The engine is a little more noisy because it’s aircooled and has no cooling jacket on the cylinder. After the first service and break in miles, hop on it and ride it like you stole it. It dosn’t care.
Love the old school design and tech...less is more.
I love my Scram🤩
I absolutely love my Scram, great value for the money. I've been everywhere 2 up with panniers full. I wouldn't ever sell it 😎
Perfect little town bike for rough roads, for me.
The last bike that I owned that produced this claimed level of power was an old Honda CB250RSD. It was great for the odd motorway blat and fine for city commuting. Handling was terrible with a frame that flexed like a cat in custard. I can't ride now following a rake of surgeries over the last few years but if I could I'd give this bike a serious look. Maybe sometime in the future who knows what will be around. I love the reviews of bikes that have made so much of my life.
Less to go wrong. Cheaper than some 125cc machines ?
Great video Kate.
You should definitely get one....omg that would be epic!!
I got the same bike, after r6, var, hayabusa, etc. probably the scram is my second favourite. Enjoy your new bike and ride safe.😊
Definitely a great value for the coins. As long as you stay within its capabilities. I'm an expat living in the Philippines and it would be great here. Anything over 400 cc's doesn't really make sense here. There are no high speed highways here. There are lots of trails and the roads are certainly rough in some places. I could see owning the 411. If a 450 version is released, the 411s will be a bargain price
I got one in the same spec Graphite red and I love it. It's so much fun to ride on A & B roads. It's not built for M-ways, but you can do it if you really need too.
Like some others have mentioned, once it's run in at about 1200 miles + it really starts to loosen up and yeah you can get to 70, but that's not where the fun is. Around 40- 60 which is about as much as you can do on most roads in the UK, it's perfect.
This bike is awesome. I got one and everywhere I go people comment on how much they like the looks og the bike. While they ignore totally the bigger bikes of my mates.
Interesting!
Awesome video! I think I would like a Royal Enfield. Great value for sure. I can't wait to see your new boots. Best!
I did like the sniff of the armpit while barrelling along at a sensibly appropriate velocity.😁
I'm sure it's not you, just that some folks need to concentrate more than others. 🤷🏻♂🤣
Hi Ka nice review of Royal Enfield 411Scram.It still require some refinement like that of Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.Nice ride review you have done 😊
Thanks!
Some of the comments are hilarious. If you reviewed a van they'd say I'd rather have a convertible, and if you tested a boat they would insist a microlight is better. When my wife asks what sort of cheese to put in the shopping trolley I'll tell her any cream cake with a cherry on top.
Hi ho hi ho it's off to work we go, very apt for the Scram...
As a first toe into motorcycling it’s ok but it does look like it was put together in a shed by Wilf and his asthmatic terrier and it’s about as fast too….. 😂😂😂 Great review again Kate, relatable, fair and honest!
Brilliant bike for the cost. Another brilliant video there kate. Seen that mike was having a play on his bike on Instagram earlier. Id be out on bike today but i need new tyres that are getting fitted Thursday, then i go up Caravan to Kirkby Stephen at some point.
I like both Himalayan and scram i just hope they do scram 450
Next year and it will be named Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450
@@amitchodankar1989That's a roadster isn't it. Looks to chonky to be scram.
Guerrilla 450 is not scram. It is an updated version of hunter 350
@@amitchodankar1989 Guerilla is already out, but it's not a new scram, having road optimised suspension, and 17 inch front tyre. Not to mention the tiny 11 liter fuel tank. (450 Himalayan has 17 liters).
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this review. Smaller cc bikes imo are a breath of fresh air, i can see me trading my Speed Triple in one day for something like this Scram, if only it had cast wheels tho, making roadside puncture repairs fixable with a plug and pump kit.
Does anyone know the general state of Royal Enfield spares in this country? I hear through the grapevine that people are waiting weeks for parts to be replaced on their bikes that are sat in dealers workshops. Is this any worse than it is for other makes?
Ok ☕🌹 Kate
My kind of bike! It is not a motorway tourer but otherwise a very versatile daily ride. But of course, I have also got my second bike, -the Harley! 😂
They are a good value bike at the discounted price and the model you are on is only £3699!. The only problem is you go to kd motorcycle's where numerous discounted Re's are advertised and find they only have 1 brand new royal Enfield in the whole of the shop, and that's a shotgun!. I know the bikes exist in a warehouse but I'm sure they would sell their stock of them alot quicker if they were actually at the showroom's for potential customers to sit on and look at before making your mind up to buy them!
To be fair to KD, I actually filmed this yonks ago and didn't manage to get it out as quickly as I'd have liked to 😊
@@UsernameKate thought you might have I know you are busy and are quite often a bit behind 🙂. I'm still waiting for your trip to Scotland on the Suzuki scooter's to see how you got on 🙂
Excepting motroways, I would love to know Kate, would you contemplate A and B road touring on one of these???
Nice things about the RE Scram and Himalayan is that they cost about as much and a HIGH Dollar bike looses in value after purchase leaving the dealer
Life is much better in the slow lane .....
Like the scram, especially at the reduced price. Same price as Voge 300 but I still think I would choose the Voge as I'm looking for a light greenlaner. KD Motorcycles do both bikes ofcourse so can compare in the showroom (don't know if they have demonstrators for both?🤔).
Cozy think. 😉😁
They are updating this air/oil cooled engine to a 440 version (*not* the 450 water cooled Sherpa engine) and bringing out a scram 440, probably within the year. Apparently it makes more like 28hp rather than 24hp on this one, but with mods you could probably push it over 30 BHP, so better on the motorways.
You can get 477cc big bore kit for the current Scram 411, which with other mods takes the engine to 34 BHP (rear wheel horsepower from 20 to 30!). There are even 500cc big bore kits that push it up to 38BHP, but this requires boring the engine casing out 2mm to work.
The Scram 440 will be a cheaper alternative to the upcoming 450 scrambler with the new water cooled Sherpa engine (called the "Guerilla", probably to not confuse it with the Scram 440) which is making more like 40 BHP.
If that wasn't enough, RE are also working on scramblers on the 350cc and 650cc platforms as well.
I was interested for a runabout, but the 6 month / 3000 mile service intervals negate much of the saving on the bike vs competition
How's the suspension of the bike on bumpy roads?
Dear Ka regularly do YOGA for better health and strong.Recently Noraly (itchyboots) has fallen from her motorcycle and please extend needful help to her🙏
It reminds me of an MZ150 from the 80's
You say that like it's a bad thing.
You're impatient!.. Like a good biker 🛠️ Nice to test the extended idle overheating, while stuck in goddamn traffic 💩
👍👍
Don't take this as a criticism, but siting for a amount of time at traffic lights or in a traffic jam with the clutch in was considered a no no ,causing undue strain on the clutch, i never used to do it , but just my opinion, nice video though ,😁👍
Being able to get away fast if the vehicle behind you gets too close is worth changing the oil more often. And the clutch on this thing is dirt cheap.
You get plenty for your money with these don't you, it would be a decent bimble bike
Not scram 450 It will come as Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450
I thought for a moment this was the new RE platform but it’s not ☹️ god these are slow. The 450 is supposed to be much better.
Better in which way?
More complicated, more expensive and likely will blend in with all the KLR-like bikes if which there are dime a dozen and they all look more or less the same..
The scram 411 has that old school, low tech, real motorcycle type of a vibe
@@VLK-73 I get that but as a platform it simply isn’t very good. They make around 18bhp at the wheel and are quite heavy for a utilitarian single cylinder bike.

Yes it all depends for what you are looking for from a bike...
Personally, I'm not looking for power or speed...it's all about the comfort, looks and enjoying the ride.
A regular moped would be plenty fast for my needs, so this thing is perfect.
A tad harsh but the only place I'd be riding this is to the recycling plant where it could be reincarnated into something decent, like a GS, Africa Twin, T7 or similar.
I would do it exactly backwards...this bike has the old school, low tech appeal and character amongst the sea of all the over-powered, hi-tech bikes that all look more or less the same.
I don't care that it goes slow...it is actually an advantage, as it keeps me out of trouble and I get to enjoy the scenery....this bike is perfect in every way
Remember to call by the bank to draw out a few more £££’s on the way to the recycling plant ! Good we all like something different respect your views ….
Ouch!
And how many more pesetas is that? Double Treble more like?
Thanks for watching
Can hardly bring myself to watch this. Nothing about this bike makes me want to ride it or take any interest in it. Reminds me of bikes that used to appear in home catalogues in the 1980s for £399. Unfair, I know.
Thanks for watching
