It’s xavier YES!!!

I really want James to get a cameo in a horror movie. Like a police officer who reports the casualties on a murder scene.
Like he brings out the gender graph, Golden Chainsaw and Dull Machete in the scene too
@@JargonMadjin just says into the radio "we have 12 kills" and then looks at the camera and pulls out a gender graph and goes "we have 5 women and 7 men dead in this crime" and then pulls out a actual golden chainsaw and says "the Caucasian female in the passenger seat gets golden chainsaw for best kill and (pulls out dull machete) and the mercenary gets dull machete for lamest kill"
He was in crypt Tv
That would be lit

"Boy, the next word that comes out of your mouth better be some brilliant fuckin' Mark Twain shit. 'Cause it's definitely getting chiseled on your tombstone" Possibly my favourite quote ever!

That's the closest Rob Zombie has yet come to Tarantino-level dialogue. That and the "chicken-fucking" exchange.

Probably a better actor than the woman attached to it. He needs to stop forcing his wife into movies. We dont want her.
@Razh 80 creepy
One thing I love about Rob Zombie that I think lacks in a lot of modern directors not just horror movie directors is that you can tell by looking at his casts that he is a huge movie nerd. Even in the smallest parts like "random lady who gets stabbed and her car stolen" he hires legendary cult actress Mary Woronov. That's awesome and I wish more directors did stuff like that.
Just watched Night of the Comet the other day.
Yeah, we need more movie nerds making movies!
I Also appreciate how he does use the same actors for different projects. Shows that the actors like working with him, and he has some loyalty to giving them work.
Just pretend that 3 From Hell is just the Fireflies hallucinating as they’re shot up by the cops

"I am the Devil. And I am here to do the Devil's work." is what Tex, that follower of Charles Manson, apparently said to the people in Sharon Tate's house before he killed them.
Yes, that bastard sure did. My good friend Daniel Farrands wrote and directed The Haunting of Sharon Tate, starring Hilary Duff. The film focuses on the real-life dreams and premonitions Sharon had just days before the murders. She also had an intense dream about the murders a year before, in which she described in an interview in Fate Magazine. Highly recommend it!

Thank God I wasn't the only one that enjoyed that line.

So you mean you're just a Rob zombie character then?
BRUH!
I don’t think there’s been a character in a horror movie I’ve hated more than Baby, I cannot handle the fact that’s she’s always the one getting away/getting the least amount of karma
That's because the actor that plays that character is Rob Zombie's wife.
@Bruce Wayne She’s prolly a writer’s pet character.
Otis and Baby are both far worse than Captain Spaulding. Spaulding isn't nearly as malicious. He does have some sadistic moments, but most of his violent acts are committed for pragmatic purposes. Sometimes he even seems unhappy with Otis's and Baby's excesses.
@@DLoibl91I guess I’m weird cuz I like her laugh lol
I think she was more unbearable in 3 from hell. I had too many moments where I knew she was going down.
I tend to think that Wendy was turned inhumane with terror and trauma which reduced her into a screaming, senseless and directionless mess of an animal. Sort of like a deer escaping a hunter only to be mowed down by a vehicle. Only with more despair and hopelessness. Who knows how a situation like that might cause a person to react. She might’ve even been so far gone in madness that she didn’t even realize she was wearing her husbands face. Who can say. Thanks for all you do! Big fan. :)
That's more or less how I interpreted it. She was driven insane from the torment.
I also think with how sick and twisted the fireflies are, they probably sewed or did something to her mouth to prevent her from speaking.
“I am the devil, and I am here to do the Devil’s work” is quoted from Manson family member Tex Watson. He said this to Voytek Frykowski before murdering him at Sharon Tate’s house.
Wat a dumb quote
They also wrote fuck pigs in the bathroom right
Kinda a redundant statement huh?

I feel ya James, part of me wishes there was an alternate, non-canon ending where Wydell got to avenge his brother and all the other Firefly victims. Guy gave me straight up Doom Slayer vibes when he grabbed that axe.
Agreed, maybe a fan film alternative ending
Why not Ranger from Quake, since he actually carried an axe as his melee weapon.
I never realized till now how stupid taking them back to their fucking home was lol
Is there any reason he couldn't take them to either the police station(pretty much half his scenes basically boiled down to "look how fucked this 'middle of fucking nowhere' piece of texas/whatever state it is" is) or some random ass warehouse?
He literally took them right to their own base after it had already been established VERY THOROUGHLY that these people have shit planned ahead and have no issue setting traps and hideout shit.

Same. After Sid Haig was gone they should have just scrapped it. And what he DID do with it was just awful rehashing of the two previous movies; same kills, same scenes, randomly changing Baby’s character. I was so excited and Rob really dropped the ball. Completely underwhelming, even rehashed lines which I guess he was trying to use as callbacks but it just came off as lazy.

Yeah
It’s a vicious cycle
Halloween is getting closer
I think Wendy was, at this point, just completely delirious. She wasn't thinking about how her dead husband's face was on her like a mask, she just wanted to get out of that motel room that she had been trapped in after being beaten, tortured, and raped and watched her friends and husband get horribly murdered. She had probably been without food and water during the entire ordeal, too. Her mind was broken and she probably just saw the house keeper as some means of help or escape and unintentionally scared her.
Seconded
I viewed it as she was so traumatized that she ran out in to the road on purpose to kill herself
@Ebiegberi Adonkie She went through something that would leave a person traumatized and mentally scarred for life and was left hanging on a coat hook with her dead husband's face put on her like a Halloween mask. I don't think anyone would have just calmed down by that point after going through something like that. For all she knew the Firefly family were still around somewhere (the last time she almost escaped she was caught by Spaulding and brought back) so at that point the only thing on her mind was to get as far away from that motel as she possibly could.
You know she’s not real, right?
Nothing like a bunch of teenage boys whose most traumatic moment in life was going 3-15 in CoD saying "yeah they weren't acting very smart after they watched their family get murdered, had their soulmate's face flayed and placed over their own, got tortured and raped, and left for dead hanging in a shower overnight in a remote motel. If that were me I would have been planning my revenge like a badass!"
We're in a pandemic and we've seen the abject stupidity of people--they're not even being chased by sadistic murder-rapists and they can barely hold it together when asked to wear a mask. But Wendy is stupid because she ran as far away as possible from the scene of her family's murder after a night of no food, drink, or sleep? Let's see how delirious _you_ are when we take your 2-liter Mountain Dew away for an hour, it'll make Wendy look like a Buddhist monk in that scene.
I guess mother firefly must have brushed her teeth between 1000 corpses and devils rejects

Hi
All this behind the scenes stuff is why I am here and keep coming back. All the "behind the scenes" stuff makes me appreciate the movies a lot. Even the ones I don't really like that much. I really like seeing people put work into their craft and James does an awesome job of showing that. I love this channel a lot. It's weirdly wholesome for a horror themed channel about counting kills.
This is 1 out of 2 channels on youtube i watch every video off such great contend
I would love to see James just go back and talk about some of the behind the scenes stuff he finds interesting about the movies he did when he didn’t yet talk about them in the Kill Counts themselves.

Every character in the Firefly trilogy is just your average kids at a Performing Arts Highschool, except with more murder. I can say this from experience
I feel like the fact that Rob Zombie wants to make these literal devil's spawn somehow lovable says a lot about him. After all the crap they've done, how am I supposed to feel an ounce of sympathy for them, unless I'm a psychopath?
I feel like there's two types of people when it comes to slasher movies. Either you think they're meant to be scary, and thus root for the main characters to overcome and get away, or you think they're funny and watch them to see a bunch of assholes get killed in interesting ways.
I think the disconnect with this movie comes between those two groups, because the former tend to hate the Fireflys for being murderous psychopaths while the latter root for them because they make fun things happen.
@@bubblegum1366
I’m either way kinda depending on the mood
If the characters are completely unlikeable, then yeah I root for them to die, but honestly I'm not that gleeful seeing bad characters get brutally murdered
Back when this movie came out, the audience usually cheered when Tiny kills the Sheriff, so it actually worked on a lot of people. I always felt like the movie was itself about movies, particularly their manipulative nature. If you do your filmmaking well enough, you can make a lot of people feel anything about anyone. There is a bleak outlook on humanity in that statement, but if you look at his filmography, a bleak view of mankind defines much of his career.
The film doesn't really work that way with most people anymore, but this came out when pop culture was still in its edgelord phase, and a lot of what came out of the time is a bleak reflection on that.
Who else just realized at the beginning James said “I’d like to make myself believe” was the lyrics to Fireflies by Owl City

I definitely agree with James that the funny road trip stuff should have come first. It would have been a good way to get the audience to let their guard down for a bit. It’s hard to root for them in any circumstance, but they were so scary and evil on House of 1000 corpses that I could never root for them, even when they went up against other pieces of shit in the other movies. Sheri Moon Zombie's brother has a cameo as a police officer in the opening shootout scene. He was originally only on the set as a visitor, but director Rob Zombie put him in the scene because he knew how to handle firearms well.
Rob Zombie stated in an interview that, up until 31 (2016), 'The Devil's Rejects' was probably the hardest film of his to cut down in order to receive an R rating.
Chris Jericho auditioned for the role of Rondo, but was told he was "too pretty" for the part. Danny Trejo was cast instead.
Final film of Matthew McGrory. He died just over a month after its release.
The blue van's plate spells AKU, which means "evil" in Japanese.
Won Most Vile Villain(s) (for The Firefly Family) and Best Horror Movie at The 2006 Scream Awards.
This movie had to be cut seven times in order to receive an R rating from the MPAA. According to Rob Zombie, the censors had an issue with the film's overall tone, specifically the motel scene between Priscilla Barnes and Bill Moseley. This scene had to be cut by two minutes for the theatrical release; the cut footage was restored in the DVD version.
Body count: 19.
The names "Firefly", "Captain Spaulding" and "Otis B. Driftwood" are all names of Groucho Marx characters in various The Marx Brothers films.
The dream-like sequences that Otis saw of himself, Captain Spaulding and Baby during the ending were actually clips of candid footage of the three actors that was shot on the final day of filming. After wrapping up on the last day, Rob Zombie filmed Sherri Moon Zombie, Bill Moseley and Sid Haig as they had some post-wrap up fun and said their "good byes" into the camera.
Both this and House of 1000 Corpses (2003) were dedicated to actors who had appeared in the films but died prior to their release.
Sheri Moon Zombie does not see this film as a sequel: "It's more like some of the characters from House of 1000 Corpses (2003) came on over, and now they're the Devil's Rejects."
The name "Charlie Altamont" was inspired by The Rolling Stones documentary Gimme Shelter (1970), in which a Hell's Angels gang member hired to work security stabbed a youth to death at Altamont Speedway in northern California. In this film, Charlie "gives shelter" to the Firefly family.
Sheri Moon Zombie was emotionally drained during the shooting of a scene with William Forsythe that required her to cry. She was so affected by the scene--which took two to three hours to film--that she did not come to work for two days afterward

& they can’t make you like them first and then portray them to be monsters because we are already aware of the latter fact given House of 1000
21:54 "Better say Roger". Haha, see what you did there. Good ole' Roger Rockmore ;)
Nothing has me crying more than the Tommy as a symbol in the pie breakdown.
That getting to the kills part was an Owl City “Firefly” joke wasn’t it?
U wot? No, it was because the movie is called The Devil's Rejects and its follow up is called Three From Hell....
yeah if theres any connection between this and owl city, its cus owl city is a nerd and probably made reference to these movies subtly.
yeah I f came straight to the comments if someone else noticed
The movie follows the Firefly family, so it probably was meant to be a joke
Yes. Yes it was. That and the Holey Moley comments were very confusing.
5:50 I’m literally watching this while leveling up my panda in CC
When this first came out, I was so excited to see PJ Soles! I was literally obsessed with her and the Ramones in Rock and Roll High School as a little kid…
The ‘Butt Shot’ joke is the most I’ve laughed at a Kill Count.
“I am the devil, and I am here to do the devils work”, or something similar, was supposedly what Tex Watson said to one of the victims at the Sharon Tate murder scene.
Damn
Yeah I think they referenced it in “once upon a time in Hollywood”
Nah it was something way less cooler than that something like rex or something
i personally feel that the reverse thing works, you see them be awful, horrid people, and then watch them be funny and cute, and it like messes with your head a bit
Same. But I think a lot of people actually take these movies seriously like you would a normal horror movie. I watched House when I was 10 or 11 and I always found it interesting and comedic (to the point I got in a lot of trouble in school for my journal having a bunch of lines from the movie and they wanted to commit me, no lie. Luckily my mom is intelligent and was like yeah… she just likes horror movies). I never felt horror watching them because it felt fake and comedic, kinda like the end of Texas Chainsaw or the entirety of Texas Chainsaw 2.
Baby's laugh makes me think she's still somehow so innocent. She will be killing someone but her laugh while doing it is like she's a child playing with a toy.
the hunters also become the hunted
100% I think you have to let yourself sort of see it to really get it, instead of going into it being adamantly against them, which it unfortunately seems like James did.
this is one of my favorites you've done!
“Oh no! I’m a sh*tty Rob Zombie character!” - James, 2020
Don't worry James, we still like you.
This Line Made Me Bust Out Laughing xD
Even funnier if you consider he likely shaved his facial hair like this just for that joke.
Can you say time of that line
So he represents 90% of those characters. Lol
James-“This video may get demonetized”
*Me getting an ad every 2 minutes*
Right like
He fills it with as much mid-roll as possible so they can get that sweet sweet ad money until UA-cam smells blood and demonetizes it.
James never puts ads on sponsored videos because he thinks it’s unfair to the viewer to sit through both the ads and the sponsor read. Ads on a sponsored video means the video was copyright claimed by the movies publisher
Just because he can't get the money for it doesn't mean UA-cam can't make all that sweet green off of his hard work
leave it to dead meat to be a complete sellout and rate trash movies higher than good movies. like 15 minutes until the killcount even started come on dude..
@@JustinFaiLz wow, its like personal opinion doesn't exist in this world at all.
when james said I’d like to make myself believe legit the first thing I thought of was the song by owl city called fireflies because that’s a line in the song
Shout out from Santa Clarita!!!
A random fact: Sid Haig got into a car accident once where his car was totaled and Rob bought him a new car
This is one of the many reasons I respect rob zombie he may make dark as hell movies but he’s the nicest caring person ever
Im suprised he made a sequel to this and a movie before this as well i kinna thooght the ending to this was rather fitting... A crazy version of the thelma and loiuse ending(well crazier then that at least)
If Rob Zombie never wanted the violence to be exciting, why did he set the final shoot out to the guitar solo from Free Bird?
It’s more of a send off then exciting kinda how they did the tribute for Paul in fast furious
Tbh he seems kinda all over the place on what he actually wants peoples feelings to be towards the characters.
That to me, is the best part of the movie. Fantastic song, shot really well too.
@@KristenDETW yeah, I didn’t like that the guy was complaining about it, it seems like he just doesn’t like the movie. Everything he complained about I found fantastic and creative
i watched these moves with my dad and he had to pause them several times so i could get a break truly some of the best horror moves ive walched
The owl city fireflies joke made me audibly exhale
James love movies "Title Card" as much as CinemaSins hates the opening logos of movies
55 seconds of title cards??
@@user-hl7yg7wr2i 😂😂
Honestly though, CinemaSins just sucks. They pick out non-existent problems just to make their videos last longer that 30seconds.
When UA-cam tells me CinemaSins viewers also watch this....you are that CinemaSins viewer
@@chadcolton62 I am also that cinema sins viewer... but I like it so 🤷♂️
Nothing makes me happier than when James really seems to be bothered by really upsetting things. Makes me respect him and love being a fan

There is no cooler character than Captain Spaulding
I met EG recently and she said doing this movie was the most fun she had on a movie
I'm sure. It's a complete change of scenery from what she usually does.
RIP Sid Haigh. You beautiful horror movie legend. Captain spaulding will always be one of my favorite characters in any horror film.
Captain Spaulding is the sole reason I can't watch these movies, I can't stand the character.
@@DrownInLysergic I thought Sid Haig gave the only good performance in House of 1000 Corpses. Sheri was borderline-insufferable, and even Moseley wasn't half as good playing the unhinged H1000 Otis as he was playing Rejects's more calculating version. In House of 1000 Corpses, Haig got some decent wacky humor into one off-puttingly wacky horror movie.
He's hilarious. His performance was just so damn good.

UA-cam: time for a general add.
well, what? did you expect a general subtract? or, much less, a general multiplication or division!?
Brennan Fuentes that is super corny. I LOVE IT!
Brennan Fuentes this is super unfunny I SORTA LIKE IT
@@m.koning1753 Sure, just dont support the youtubers that are working their asses off to give you free entertainment, who cares that they are doing so much to provide you free content, youd actually have to sit there and spend like 1 whole minute of your life to support them!

“I am the devil and I am here to do the devils work” is still one of the hardest lines ever written
It’s not even his line that’s what Charles masons said to Sharon Tate as he killed her
except they didn’t write it. that was a quote from one of manson’s cult followers before he brutally murdered an entire family
