“I am the devil, and I am here to do the Devil’s work” is quoted from Manson family member Tex Watson. He said this to Voytek Frykowski before murdering him at Sharon Tate’s house.
Everyone is always talking about how UA-cam is getting real comfortable with these double unskipable ads, but no one is talking about how they're getting real comfortable with ads that happen right when there's action in a video
I don’t think there’s been a character in a horror movie I’ve hated more than Baby, I cannot handle the fact that’s she’s always the one getting away/getting the least amount of karma
Otis and Baby are both far worse than Captain Spaulding. Spaulding isn't nearly as malicious. He does have some sadistic moments, but most of his violent acts are committed for pragmatic purposes. Sometimes he even seems unhappy with Otis's and Baby's excesses.
I think Wendy was, at this point, just completely delirious. She wasn't thinking about how her dead husband's face was on her like a mask, she just wanted to get out of that motel room that she had been trapped in after being beaten, tortured, and raped and watched her friends and husband get horribly murdered. She had probably been without food and water during the entire ordeal, too. Her mind was broken and she probably just saw the house keeper as some means of help or escape and unintentionally scared her.
@Ebiegberi Adonkie She went through something that would leave a person traumatized and mentally scarred for life and was left hanging on a coat hook with her dead husband's face put on her like a Halloween mask. I don't think anyone would have just calmed down by that point after going through something like that. For all she knew the Firefly family were still around somewhere (the last time she almost escaped she was caught by Spaulding and brought back) so at that point the only thing on her mind was to get as far away from that motel as she possibly could.
Nothing like a bunch of teenage boys whose most traumatic moment in life was going 3-15 in CoD saying "yeah they weren't acting very smart after they watched their family get murdered, had their soulmate's face flayed and placed over their own, got tortured and raped, and left for dead hanging in a shower overnight in a remote motel. If that were me I would have been planning my revenge like a badass!" We're in a pandemic and we've seen the abject stupidity of people--they're not even being chased by sadistic murder-rapists and they can barely hold it together when asked to wear a mask. But Wendy is stupid because she ran as far away as possible from the scene of her family's murder after a night of no food, drink, or sleep? Let's see how delirious _you_ are when we take your 2-liter Mountain Dew away for an hour, it'll make Wendy look like a Buddhist monk in that scene.
I love Esterbrook as Mama in this movie. The thing to remember about the Firefly's is that they are performers whenever Normies are around. Thats why she is over the top in the jail cell. It's a character she is putting on for the sheriff.
I tend to think that Wendy was turned inhumane with terror and trauma which reduced her into a screaming, senseless and directionless mess of an animal. Sort of like a deer escaping a hunter only to be mowed down by a vehicle. Only with more despair and hopelessness. Who knows how a situation like that might cause a person to react. She might’ve even been so far gone in madness that she didn’t even realize she was wearing her husbands face. Who can say. Thanks for all you do! Big fan. :)
Yeah, I always felt the movie's attempts at making the audience "feel" for the characters really fell flat, especially considering the movie that preceded it. I'm not gonna cry seeing murdering rapists get tortured, Rob.
I definitely agree with James that the funny road trip stuff should have come first. It would have been a good way to get the audience to let their guard down for a bit. I like this trilogy but these are the most reprehensible characters ever put on screen, and they only survive because the people they go up against are fucking stupid.
It’s hard to root for them in any circumstance, but they were so scary and evil on House of 1000 corpses that I could never root for them, even when they went up against other pieces of shit in the other movies. With that said, I prefer the Firefly trilogy to the Halloween remake and sequel, and think Rob should continue to make his version of horror, because there is a place for it in the genre
One was a role he was very serious about and happy for. The latter was because the movie he was doing was practically the same movie just more grittier and grindhouse.
Same. After Sid Haig was gone they should have just scrapped it. And what he DID do with it was just awful rehashing of the two previous movies; same kills, same scenes, randomly changing Baby’s character. I was so excited and Rob really dropped the ball. Completely underwhelming, even rehashed lines which I guess he was trying to use as callbacks but it just came off as lazy.
@@DrownInLysergic I thought Sid Haig gave the only good performance in House of 1000 Corpses. Sheri was borderline-insufferable, and even Moseley wasn't half as good playing the unhinged H1000 Otis as he was playing Rejects's more calculating version. In House of 1000 Corpses, Haig got some decent wacky humor into one off-puttingly wacky horror movie.
@@ashlynnheller8400 look at TCM the first two make the family of cannibals pretty funny in a morbid way. Hell that's where Moseley got his start, playing Chop Top.
The weird Chicken fucker part and Otis saying something like "I'm Willy fucking Wonka and this is my God damn chocolate Factory" are my favorites I love Rob Zombie dialogue it's so dumb.
Im suprised he made a sequel to this and a movie before this as well i kinna thooght the ending to this was rather fitting... A crazy version of the thelma and loiuse ending(well crazier then that at least)
"despite trying to make a dramatic exit" "You ain't getting me" *Pulls trigger* AD WILL END IN FIVE SECONDS I dunno James, that's pretty dramatic to me
I don't think the ads are James' doing, though. He has a sponsor do no ads. Any ads must be a copyright claim from the movie studio. I think it happened last week too.
William Forsythe's performance as the Sheriff really tied the whole movie together. Watching him being poisoned by his quest for vengeance as he goes from this by the book sheriff to be no better than the Firefly family was a real treat.
@@KristenDETW yeah, I didn’t like that the guy was complaining about it, it seems like he just doesn’t like the movie. Everything he complained about I found fantastic and creative
“I am the devil, and I am here to do the devils work”, or something similar, was supposedly what Tex Watson said to one of the victims at the Sharon Tate murder scene.
13:44 in my opinion I loved her rendition of mama firefly better than the first version. Rob went a entire different direction with this movie and I felt he picked a great substitute for mama firefly . Her crazy looks, movements , and dialog give me a real insane mama vibe vs the first one who was just kinda playing a weird mom of a weird twisted family. Nothing was special about the first one.
James: "I'd like to make myself believe" Me: "Oh no, don't do it" James: "Let's see if everything is as it seems" Me: *Owl City starts to play in the background*
James never puts ads on sponsored videos because he thinks it’s unfair to the viewer to sit through both the ads and the sponsor read. Ads on a sponsored video means the video was copyright claimed by the movies publisher
leave it to dead meat to be a complete sellout and rate trash movies higher than good movies. like 15 minutes until the killcount even started come on dude..
Every character in the Firefly trilogy is just your average kids at a Performing Arts Highschool, except with more murder. I can say this from experience
I feel like the fact that Rob Zombie wants to make these literal devil's spawn somehow lovable says a lot about him. After all the crap they've done, how am I supposed to feel an ounce of sympathy for them, unless I'm a psychopath?
I feel like there's two types of people when it comes to slasher movies. Either you think they're meant to be scary, and thus root for the main characters to overcome and get away, or you think they're funny and watch them to see a bunch of assholes get killed in interesting ways. I think the disconnect with this movie comes between those two groups, because the former tend to hate the Fireflys for being murderous psychopaths while the latter root for them because they make fun things happen.
If the characters are completely unlikeable, then yeah I root for them to die, but honestly I'm not that gleeful seeing bad characters get brutally murdered
Back when this movie came out, the audience usually cheered when Tiny kills the Sheriff, so it actually worked on a lot of people. I always felt like the movie was itself about movies, particularly their manipulative nature. If you do your filmmaking well enough, you can make a lot of people feel anything about anyone. There is a bleak outlook on humanity in that statement, but if you look at his filmography, a bleak view of mankind defines much of his career. The film doesn't really work that way with most people anymore, but this came out when pop culture was still in its edgelord phase, and a lot of what came out of the time is a bleak reflection on that.
From what I remember about explanations of this film, Wendy Banjo went running and screaming due to whatever Otis and Baby did to her overnight. House of 1000 Corpses showed victims who were alive but were insane due to the Firefly family's torture, such as the people in the cage that attacked Denise or Lewis Dover. Basically, Wendy ended up being one of those survivors that went insane until that truck ran her over. After Pet Sematary, I wouldn't be surprised when trucks don't stop. As for Tiny Firefly, he did have dialogue that was deleted saying that the house was his home and he wasn't leaving it.
Exactly. I also think Wendy was trying to get as far away from where she was tortured all night as possible, which is why she went to the road. If you'd been tortured and forced to wear your dead SOs face all night long, you wouldn't necessarily be in the logical thinking mindset either.
HOLY HOLY!!! I can proudly say that I have the two HOTTEST women on this planet as MY GIRLFRIENDS! I am the unprettiest UA-camr ever, but they love me for what's inside! Thanks for listening jen
Thanks for telling people about the census. I've seen a lot of others talk about registering to vote (very much still important, so thank you) but not the census as much. There's like 2,000 comments here so it may very well get buried, but I still wanted to express my appreciation. The census is crucial, just like you said, and if your insistence leads to even just one more person filling it out, I think you did something good.
Fun Fact: A band called "Ice Nine Kills" did a song inspired by Devil's Rejects called "Freak Flag". They also have songs inspired by other films, like Saw (The Jig Is Up), IT (IT Is The End), Nightmare on Elm Street (American Nightmare), Scream (Your Number's Up), Halloween (Stabbing In The Dark). and even Edward Scissorhands (The World In My Hands). The album is called "The Silver Scream", if I remember correctly.
There's a theory online that Tiny went back into the house because he (and the others) knew that he wouldn't survive a life on the run. R.I.P Matthew McGrory

3 From Hell... so very disappointing. The Devil's Rejects was so good, and the end is easily one of my favourite closing scenes ever.
@@starcrysis23 why was Sid gone? He was in 3 from hell, wasn't he?

Captain Spaulding is the sole reason I can't watch these movies, I can't stand the character.

William Forsythe's performance as the Sheriff really tied the whole movie together. Watching him being poisoned by his quest for vengeance as he goes from this by the book sheriff to be no better than the Firefly family was a real treat.

He fills it with as much mid-roll as possible so they can get that sweet sweet ad money until UA-cam smells blood and demonetizes it.

@@bubblegum1366
I’m either way kinda depending on the mood
The ‘Butt Shot’ joke is the most I’ve laughed at a Kill Count.
“Like the Diamond Cutter . . . they NEVER saw it coming!”
