This song is almost spiritual for me..it reminds me of a beach trip my husband and I went on when time stopped and we were the only two people on the planet..
We spotted the ocean at the head of the trail Where are we going, so far away? Somebody told me this is the place Where everything's better and everything's safe Walk on the ocean, step on the stones Flesh becomes water, wood becomes bone Half an hour later, packed up our things Said, we'd send letters and all of those little things And they knew we were lying but they smiled just the same Seemed they'd already forgotten we'd came Walk on the ocean, step on the stones Flesh becomes water, wood becomes bone Walk on the ocean, step on the stones Flesh becomes water, wood becomes bone Now back at the homestead, where the air makes you choke People don't know you, trust is a joke Don't even have pictures, just memories to hold Grows sweeter each season, as we slowly grow old
Randomly thought of this song the other day and had to hear it. Definitely puts me in that time and brings back memories. Life was a lot different then.
this song plays in my head in every major life changing even, like my recent graduation. it's all about leaving everything behind, expecially all the things you love.
I was born in the 90s, i'm not a 90s kid, but I wish I had been one, I wasnt aware of this band until very recently, and it is great, it must have been awesome to grow up with this music.
I had the weirdest dream last night. I was hanging out at a beach party around a fire with a bunch of ppl, musicians specifically & and slowly realized I was speaking to the lead singer of this band. We went for a walk on the beach & he said "watch this". He took off running & turned into a horse. Then the running horse caught fire(but wasn't burned) & everyone on the beach was amazed. I turned into a flaming bird & was about to take a flight, but my stupid phone rang & woke me up! I woke up with this song playing in my head..
This song always takes me back to marching Sky Ryders in 92. Me and my bus partner used to jam it in our walkmans. We silly puddy'd some little speakers to the window. I remember one of the guys teching the line was like, "You're gonna remember everything on the radio from this summer and when you hear it when you're older, you'll get nostalgic." I remember thinking, whatever old guy. Now when I hear this song and the lyrics, I kinda choke up.
Keith Dolge Thanks Keith. About 5 miles east of Sequim, WA in the country. It's beautiful there and believe it or not, the weather was basically nice year 'round. I guess due to being so close to the Peninsula.
After music like this, there was a long lull. Righteous lyrics and music. Lord Huron helped to bring it back. For those who have an on-going love for the sea.
1993 really? I remember seeing the video in 1992 almost every morning before school (wasn't a fan of the song at the time) did not become a fan of Toad (or the song) until 1993 when a friend lent me "Fear"
can you imagine a song like this getting that high on the charts these days? any real sense of musicality is gone. it's all manufactured pop and rap garbage.
Saw Toad live in concert last night and got to meet the band afterwards. They are SO COOL and so down to earth! Glen was being really sweet to the kids that had come with their parents and was taking pictures with and joking with them (I know he has three kids of his own). Dean and Randy were such cool guys, they gave me autographs and then shot the shit for about 10 minutes. Such an amazing band!!!! And their performance last night was no different from the energy and talent they gave back in the 90s. They opened for Counting Crows, but (in my opinion) blew their performance out of the water. LOVE THESE GUYS!! So glad they got back together after a 16 year hiatus.
I saw them in Phoenix a few months ago, was kinda sad they did very little of the old stuff and propped their new album. But still, these guys touch a part of me that is only aroused by very few groups. I lived right up the road from them in Pismo. So yea, my home boys, love these guys, They don't get half the credit they deserve.
Shane Hennenhoefer Yo Shane, I saw them (again), on the same tour you did, back in the Comica in Phoeinix. Awesome, awesome good show! Had a blast. & they did blow the doors off the Crows! & nah, I live in the stinking desert now, so kinda just like Glen,,,,, "don't even have pictures, just memories to hold". Thou, did get a chance to some awesome "wandering" time in Big Sur this summer.
I had such a bad day today. I'm home now where the air makes me choke, people don't know me and trust is a joke. I hope I die not suffering like I do now that's all. This isn't drama or a cry for help it's Real. I'm done trying
A beautiful classic 😊Like the cool side of the pillow 😊🎶❤️🎶🌈🎶☀️🎶🌊🎶🌎
This is what I grew up listening to. Thanks mom & dad!
man I really miss the lost hits from the 90's
once drove along the Pacific Highway and spotted the actual ocean while this song was playing. Bliss of summer while falling in love.
This song is almost spiritual for me..it reminds me of a beach trip my husband and I went on when time stopped and we were the only two people on the planet..

Dear Jennifer, I can share such great and wonderful timeless-time-experience with my girlfriend too! Love and peace ...!
We spotted the ocean at the head of the trail
Where are we going, so far away?

Where everything's better and everything's safe
Walk on the ocean, step on the stones
Flesh becomes water, wood becomes bone

I'm repeating this.over and over....floating......
This got me nostalgic...cassette days were the best and so was this band. Thank you.., all the way from Kathmandu, Nepal.
a tune for those with a restless spirit...
That would be all of us...
from the meth that gives you parkinson's disease rattle
Awesome song, it sums up life being deployed and overseas aboard a naval vessel with the guys I served with.
This is just a great song...plain and simple.
This song won’t stop playing in my head every time I play Day Z
I saw these guys at the Mish in Colorado with less than 30 people. It felt like a dream. How lucky was I! I will remember that forever!
that final verse is very touching.
Randomly thought of this song the other day and had to hear it. Definitely puts me in that time and brings back memories. Life was a lot different then.
Simpler times
this song plays in my head in every major life changing even, like my recent graduation. it's all about leaving everything behind, expecially all the things you love.
saw them live earlier tonight at a festival, glad to see them back in the mainstream; it's always just been about good music, good songs
I was born in the 90s, i'm not a 90s kid, but I wish I had been one, I wasnt aware of this band until very recently, and it is great, it must have been awesome to grow up with this music.
I remember living in Ft Collins, CO when this came out. I was in the 6th grade. Loved this song. So many memories.
Bought this album because of a review in the Illinois Entertainer saying "It is the ultimate after midnight album"

Awesome dream! ❤
I love hearing this song at work.
love this song, i remember hearing it when i was young and it swarms so many memories
The fondness of this song holds a very special time with jan that is forever treasured.

Wow i remember recording this off the radio on cassette
Remember this song from the mid 90s. Was in college at the time, and some how the song brings me back there. Good song, and thanks for posting.
This was the main song I remember listening to on my ipod while Hitchhiking from Missouri to Washington state 5 years ago. I Love this tune!!
Keith Dolge Thanks Keith. About 5 miles east of Sequim, WA in the country. It's beautiful there and believe it or not, the weather was basically nice year 'round. I guess due to being so close to the Peninsula.
My Childhood song :)
Reminds me of Newport Beach south of Lincoln City in OR. It's a good song.
Before you were Born is a good song
Herrlich dieser Song, ich liebe es,dieses Lied !
This song is sad. "Now back at the homestead, where the air makes you choke, people don't know you, and trust is a joke..." The rest is sad too
After music like this, there was a long lull. Righteous lyrics and music. Lord Huron helped to bring it back. For those who have an on-going love for the sea.
It was a great, creative time for music
This just played in my dream so i had to listen to it once I woke up.
Lucky me. I was there when this swept the world. To bad I hated myself back then
a rare very unique capture
Love this version :)
Just the song I needed for today.
this song went to #18 on the pop charts in 1993!!!
Daniel Burns Thank you.

Brett Mattson That's too bad, guy! At this concert, they played every hit except Little Heaven. Do u still live near them?
Shane Hennenhoefer Yo Shane, I saw them (again), on the same tour you did, back in the Comica in Phoeinix. Awesome, awesome good show! awesome song.wow !! sure does take me back when i first heard it. i was living in Waco Tx. then.
A journey togather i savored that i thought would continue. Now, a dream. That will remain with me.
Awesome show last night in Oklahoma with the Crows. Tight as ever after their hiatus.
Time to take a walk with Toad.
2018 indeed, of course!
love this song
great classic song....
The chorus of this makes me cry.
Reminds me of my summers at the Delaware beaches in the early/mid 90s.
TOAD THE WET SPROKET VERY COOL BAND
This album (Fear) is the last cassette tape I own. I keep it in the old stereo boombox in the garage, and play it every time I wash and wax my car...
jesus christ, what a song!
..under rated album..great band
True gems are often over-looked. I've always liked songs about the sea (like "Nantucket Sleighride" by Mountain).
I miss you all
Awesome song
Oh, and thanks for the upload.
No "and" needed. Classic tune.
AMAZING ALBUM :P
Ahh the vanity of existence.
Great Song
Have this album on disc! Stereo broke :(
Love the song! One of my favourites
In memory of Herman Melville and Jack London
Their best song! Why don’t they play it more often? Like in stores, etc?
Because like any business, music is a business today. Not how good it is, how much money can it make.
All of those little things.
Fucking brilliant track...
Jobs was listening to this song on his CD walkman.
"everything's better", everything safe
I had such a bad day today. I'm home now where the air makes me choke, people don't know me and trust is a joke. I hope I die not suffering like I do now that's all. This isn't drama or a cry for help it's Real. I'm done trying
JOBS
They’ve already forgotten we came
i recorded this on cassette too :)
A song I don't mind covered at a cafe
Here because of the Jobs movie.
Reminds me of Gin Blossoms...with a twist...
+Donald Goodson I like all three in no defined order, but who knows.
+timeout1958 I lied - Goo Goo Dolls are quite extraordinary, but I'll throw in Soul Asylum...
I always thought the song was about people who left Ireland for America and never returned.
@txtornadoef5 Right around the time of the Waco siege, huh? I might be off by about a year or so...
Wall-e credits :)
Show
I think coldplay has a song that sound almost the same.
Amazing TRACK! I just wish they would've added an outtro chorus.
John Brault that version exists. It’s the radio edit
@@EnterHacker and in the video version as well.
lol at the name of the OP title song
What did this band have against the Stones?
:)
for all the money in the world
toad AND the wet sprocket??? LOL

Seven people got eaten by sharks.
I guess oblivion set in before you posted this. You got the band's name wrong.
The mix with the music video is not the same as this mix . Prefer the video ver ...
I had this song stuck in my head as I crested a hill while driving west and saw the ocean for the first time in 30 years.
