I feel like a lot of bands got a little.lost in the 90s because there was just so much good music..this was one of those bands..this comes out now and they would have been bigger than they were.

The nineties may be the last decade when truly phenomenal songs would appear. This song captures joy and happiness in timeless fashion. An American masterpiece for the world!
The nighties where the last decade the independent bands where played on the radio. So now it’s not there isn’t good music, but it gets harder and harder to find, it almost that UA-cam is our only hope, so godless to all my digital divers of good music.
I keep hoping that one day I'll wake up and somebody will drop me back off in the 80s and I can relive the 80s and 90s because boy they were good times
Same here! Looking up 90's stuff I found a blog post on girls fashion from back in the day.. man did girls dress cute back then! Totally brought be back to my huge high school crush on the pretty girl in my grade, Katie, and all the hp dresses she wore. She was the first girl I saw wear knee high socks , like Alicia Silverstone did in clueless, and man did she look amazing. She wore this back and red plaid super tight short miniskirt, babydoll blouse, and black knee high socks with funky heels that day and it is burned into my brain forever.. *sigh* Teacher totally tried to bust her for her skirt being "too short" lol.. best school day ever!
Sometimes I wonder if these guys would've been a lot more popular if they had found a better and more accessible name for their band. But personally I don't care two hoots. Best damn musicians ever who wrote absolute belters for songs. TTWS forever!
Heard this song playing at the local super market about a week ago. Such a great song. Brought back many fond memories from that era. This band didn’t get enough recognition. Great stuff.
Few songs are as beautifully emblematic of the 90s along with everything euphorically enjoyable that it symbolized than this wonderfully feel good, nostalgic tune is. Just an amazingly understated masterpiece, one that represented a fantastic era with such sublime wonderment & dreamy light heartedness. Miss the 90s to great degree, so much so that words alone could never convey such a heartfelt yearning. It runs deep & genuine!
This is my favorite Toad the Wet Sprocket song. Just gives me all the words to my thoughts... "It's hard to rely on my good intentions... when my head's full of things that I can't mention..."
Saw these guys in a State Street Bar (Santa Barbara Ca) in the early 90's...I remember thinking..damm these guys are good!..I did not realize the gift I had been given to see them in a 50 person bar.......I wish I could get that one back.
Awesome. Hell I wish I could get back the night I saw them in concert. It was I believe the tour for Dulcinea so 94? I don't remember as much of it as I do other concerts. It was my first concert and my favorite band I think I was just too overwhelmed LOL
Well, I think I was there too and I,m from Spain!!! I went to study to the US and lived in Goleta...Beautiful times to live and enjoy the youth, music and the USA ( by the way, I lived there for 5 years and my daughter is a beautiful American/Spaniard girl ). Kisses from Barcelona!
Everybody always gets nostalgic for the decade they were in their 20's (which I was in the 90's) especially when you had a blast and then get to be 46 yrs old lol My god, where did the time go? Where'd my money go for that matter? I had no idea I could burn through half a million dollars that fast.. BUt like I said, had a blast. who else got to have alice in chains play your birthday party? man that was fun.
Life was especially easier in those times Parents were mature and responsible adults Being a kid coming up in the 90s we’re awesome Making friends back then we’re easier the culture of the 90s
Wow hearing this after probably 26 years and remembering I liked it. Now being an adult and understanding the lyrics as I never did as a kid. It's just amazing 👏 great job youtube algorithm
If you like Gin Blossoms, you're like destined to like this band too and their songs. Sometimes you need that feel, good chill catchy music that this band and Gin Blossoms, both provided. Both big bands in the 90s.
I had a bootleg version of this song on cassette before it was ever released and requested it at a show and Glen stopped and was like "how do you know that song?". This was back before everything was on UA-cam. I felt pretty cool.
Prakeern Gupta got a copy from a friend of mine that was big into trading and he got a copy from someone. I need to go back and see if it has a date and location listed.
Hard to rely on my good intentions. Made some really good road trips up and down the coast listening to this on cassette tape. Seams like yesterday. Same love of my life and 5 grown children later.
This is one of those songs that my late boy friend and I used to listen to. Actually all of Toad. He died tragically couple years ago. I'll never forget our memories listening to Toad!
Sorry for your loss. Lost my father about 7 months ago and listening to these 'old songs' keeps my spirits up and brings back better days. Hope it does for you. Take care.😎
I'm sorry for your loss. This song reminds me of my son I lost to Cancer in 20/20 he was 32. This is one of the songs I can actually listen to without crying. I can really relate to this song. 🤗❤️🙏😇💙🎶🎸
This is from the last few years I watched videos on MTV... when they actually still played music videos. I'd come home from classes at college, plop down on the couch and watch a half hour of videos (and then Beavis and Butthead). Jeez, what was that - 20+ years ago?!

He was watching the opening band, a guy came to stand next to him and said "You like these guys? I think they're pretty good, huh?" My brother said "Yeah, they're good, but I'm here for Toad." The guy said "Oh yeah? Me too!" Laughed and gave by SB a bro punch to the arm. My SB looked over at the guy and realized it was Glen Phillips(the lead singer) He'd been talking to. He said "Hey! Wow really interesting and funny story , he’s lucky 🍀 . It happened to me a similar story with an actor : Aron Piper . I was at a party at a restaurant-night club and I was sat down in a table and I asked a waiter where was Aron piper at ,as I couldn’t find him anywhere . So he just replied : isn’t he there pointing with his finger and I looked at what he was pointing and wow I couldn’t believe my eyes I was so excited ,it made me so happy 🙂. He was literally sitting next to me but I was really awkward to talk to him . I only took photos and a video . An unforgettable and beautiful experience.
My head is full of wondering if I'll be okay. I had a cancer tumor removed in March, and I'm going for a follow up in 3 weeks. I have way too much to live for to let it slow me down so I keep going on with good intentions!
“In Light Syrup” (the album this song appears on) is the first CD I ever owned. I won it in a radio contest, but my family didn’t have a CD player yet! I had to buy a Discman so I could listen to it.

Didn't know that the 90s was so good until it was gone.

I thought Toad was a British band though.
@@jbeyers84 No, Toad the Wet Sprocket is an American alternative band formed in Santa Barbara, California, in 1986.

ofr2011 agreed, theses days things feel so complicated, maybe it's always been like this, but holy crap!
ofr2011. I truly agree with you 100% the best songs came out of the 80s
Take me with u
Music sucks now. It’s just stolen music from the 80s and 90s with computers. The ones that can play instruments take shortcuts, no real talent
I miss the 90’s so much. 1990 - 1995 was the best time of my life. I will never be that happy again.

Courtney Cox really got around the music videos back in the day! 😅
the most 90s video ever and I love it. I miss the 90s.
i never saw this vid in the 90s. heard it on radio a lot though

I don't know, it doesn't have bright colors like in Smashing Pumpkins' Today, or girls in 60's outfits
