Leonard Peltier (born September 12, 1944) is a Native American activist and member of the American Indian Movement (AIM). In 1977 he was convicted and sentenced to two consecutive terms of life imprisonment for first degree murder in the shooting of two Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents during a 1975 conflict on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
They really are a great band. Unfortunately they seem to be looked upon as just this sort of throw away band from the 90s that have a strange name. However they are a guitar driven band with a melodic sound that never resorted to any sort of overproduction . They are very much a performance driven band with talented musicians that rely solely on their vocal, instrumental and songwriting abilities with no B.S. which are attributes that are unheard of today
Laying in bed with a college sweetheart as this song, played, as we fell asleep in my college dorm room...many years later re-connecting with that same girl, and then one night her recording a drunken emotional breakdown that I had, then watching that video the next day, and then how that started the road to my sobriety,...thats changed my life exponentially for the better...this song brings the flood of those bitter sweet memories...had to break up with that girl couldn't do sobriety and a long distance relationship, I will die forever grateful to her soul...thats what this song does for me...
This brings back some of the best memories of my life just being young and hanging with my best friend who’s since passed away… It’s hard not to cry when I hear this song. It always overwhelms me and transports me back in time… Oh Anne. I’d never even heard of Toad the Wet Sprocket or Big Head Todd and The Monsters until you played them for me… I’m remembering now us being 20 and 21 in our bikinis listening to this song out by the pool!
My late husband is with me right now. He knows that I love this song and when I hear this song my heart opens up and I feel so good.
In case anyone cares this song is about the unjustified incarceration of Indigenous American and Lakota Nation political prisoner Leonard Peltier
This song is just one of those "time machine" songs, you hear those first distorted chords and it's like boom, your back in the 90's.
Free Leonard Peltier
Toad is irreplaceable in music history. They deserve stronger promotion, even for a '90's band.

Ah, the early-mid 90s when people were famous for having talent, originality
Toad = one of the best and most underrated bands of the 90's. Or any time.
Toad the wet sprocket band of my life 90s were the shhiii

"Over Pine Ridge to Wounded Knee, there's blood on the ground as far as you see"

This band is so underrated, it's not even funny!! I just love all of their music! Keep rocking Toad!
This is my favorite Toad The Wet Sprocket song. I also like "Walk On The Ocean". But, this is the best.
So much nostalgia. I really miss my childhood when life wasn't so complicated.
First heard this as a track on Empire Records OST and it's one of my all time best tracks.
When I’m in my car I have to finish listening to this whole song. It’s that damn good. 😊👏❤️
When I was a kid my mom used to play this song for me to calm down when I was upset, she recently passed away, so this hits differently .
This, my friends, is music. Thank you Toad!
