Still looks fantastic. Quite honestly I think a lot of the 2000s sports cars are actually just as nice, if not nicer, than the current models. Lot of them aged like fine wine.
i got a silver 99 430 hard top had for 5 years now, just hit 250,000 miles, looks almost like new and runs the same! get compliments all the time! one of the most solid cars i have ever owned! thanks for the video
i live in northern indiana and when it gets really cold first gear is a little slow to shift so i give it a few minutes to warm up and it runs well, plus it doesnt hurt to get the tranny flushed and new filter and fluid every couple of years! solid car even with the miles!
I have a 99' CLK320 and I personally blast my A/C all the time and I owned the car 8yrs I am at 110,000 and haven't ever had a problem with the A/C not blowing cold air...I love it😎
Gorgeous Car. I'm currently in the market for a W208 CLK430 or CLK55 AMG. I'm actually wanting a cabrio. I had a very nice black manual 98 BMW 328i Convertible that I bought in spring 2015 with about 55k miles on it. I sold it to my best freind who is a jet mechanic in winter 2020 with 127k miles on it. I had no issues with it all besides a secondary air pump replacement and all the upgrades I did. I did have to fix the top a couple times but with my freinds help it's easy. He still owns and drives the car and now it has 200k miles on it as he uses it as a daily. These V8 CLK's are deff some of the most realible cars Mercedes ever made. They are equal to the realible inline 6 BMW's like my 328i from the 90's. I actually found the Super Clean 2001 CLK430 I am ready to buy in Florida. It only has 53k miles and it is in aesthetically excellent condition. It only has 8 service records though and the only thing that has been replaced "according to the Carfax" is the tires. Is this something I should be concerned about?? I would be interested to know what you think having the exact same car I am currently trying to buy!!
Your ac is probably good, check the EC button on your climate control. If the red light stays on it’s stuck in economy mode and will not get cold. I had the same issue
I have the same issue with the EC button staying on, it seems that it is stuck and won't go out. How did you fix it ,and have it not happen again ? Thanks !
No offense Joe. You look like the kind of guy that'd go 20 over in the right lane. Anyway, my grandfather had a coupe with the V8 for 12 years in white. I loved it.
Pretty sure you're supposed to push up on the front of the roof to "release" before using the electric mechanism, as per instructional videos I've seen?
I just recently got a 2003 CLK 320 97k miles, sadly the top doesn't work you have to open it manually and it really leaks when it rains. but other than that I love it
There are a couple of cables in the top that might need to be replaced to get your top working right. It's not a super expensive fix. If it's the power mechanism, than it is expensive. Bummer, because you have a really nice car with great miles
I have a clk 320 convertible black and white grey leather ( 2002) drives superb as brand new only 52.000 miles ... consider to resell it since don’t use it that much !! Wondering if possible to install Bluetooth or connect iPhone on it. ??
Mercedes makes a bluetooth adapter for 2003+ models but Parrot and probably other vendors make them for older Benz's...www.installer.com/item/display_item.php?it=qchbc-mbz
I'm thinking about picking up the coupe version of this car. I used to have a w210 e320 until it was totaled, now I'm thinking two doors is the way to go.
Hello , I recently bought a clk430 year 2000, I had a recent leak through the top when it rained . Is it water proof or not ? If so , I'll get some type of all weather car cover.
@@edwardclaudio4408 its hanging in there i actually found the leak. It was a small tare. I fixed it 🙌 car has not had any other problems for over 365 days. And running strong.
I have a ‘99 e430 and wanna get one of these too. You guys think it would drive the same as the e430? Or does the different body change the way it drives drastically?
Crankshaft position sensor? Pull a plug and hold against the block when it wont start (ie hot). If you dont get spark I bet its the crankshaft position sensor that needs replacing.
If you don’t mind my asking what was the most expensive repair you ever had to deal with on this car? Did you have to have it at the mechanic’s a lot or was it pretty reliable car? I’m thinking of getting one but I can’t find too much information about that sort of thing.
I have the exact same car but I have the grey interior and a performance exhaust system. The best car I have ever owned.the faster the car is going the better it rides
Hi you may have sold it already! But I want to ask you something. Is it a good first car for a 20 year old Automobile Engineering student who earns around 2,000 dollars a month?
Yes, but you first have to locate screw on hydraulic pump in trunk and turn screw counter clock wise to release the hydraulic pressure. Other wise the pressure will stop you from lowering or raising the top.
Him my wife will not talk to me after seeing this video.... 0:17 😂😂 Also at 2:01 there is a lady with shorts filming 😂😂😂😂 Your wiffy will not talk to you not because you are selling the car, that will be your least worry 😂😂😂
Heck mine is in better shape than this and is same mileage now. The only issue mine has is the windshield cracked and when replaced they broken the rain sensor. The part is no longer made so I haven’t found a dealer to fix it but I’m looking for a tech who knows these cars. If you do know a tech or are in the market I am considering selling it in 2025, a classic, then DM me
In another video you praised the 2006 LX470 as the best vehicle ever made, in which I agree, but yet you have two money pit benz and a fake cruiser instead. Huh???
I've had every kind of car there is...but remember, as a buyer I hate losing money. If you add up every buy/sell of every car I've ever had in my life, plus the 10 or 12 cars I've bought for my wife, I am at +3300 lifetime if I sell both of my current cars for zero. Most people lose thousands on one car just driving it home from the dealer. I never lose money because the deal and the quality of the individual purchase is more important than what kind of car I drive. But we have had a Landcruiser and GX470 along the way and I can tell you firsthand how awesome they are...especially when it comes to resale value...but good luck finding either in Hawaii.
