It's a set of speedrun rules that prohibits the use of certain mechanics.
For exemple, no palico/palamutes, no traps, some endemic are prohibited, no bombs, no heroics etc...

I would really like to see an updated video on why spread is so powerful now, as well as why you have changed your mind on dodgebolt vs sidestep. Just a suggestion though!

This fight is so cool, one of the best if not the best in this game. Gg for your accuracy, that weak spot is a pretty hard one. I usually go with a rampage non elemental rapid bow and I'm by far not as efficient as you with spread shot. I guess it's time to practice! Ty for the lesson 👊

I just beat valtrax 2 hours ago and it was so frustrating like i failed the quest like 20 times i rember fighting him on 4am then i finally beat him 7am. I did my best to dodge bolt everything basically means drinking all the mega potions and doing the tactical retreat to the camp to get more mega potions xD. I was so tilted even now and i know for a fact i won by a fluke with 1 faint to the point i ran out mega potion in my box and dashjuice, MD and MA. My time was 27 mins with 2 faints i was soo pissed when i saw your run xD you make it looks so ez the dodge is on time wow. Since i finally finish the game i will try to do RTA too inspired by you ^^

He did the thrusts, and it made me very sad lmao. The energy blast is only when he's charged up though
Just a thought on set building. I'm not sure you talisman mod, but judging by that one I assume you do, if you go for an AB3/Wex2, lv 3 slot, then swap your chest to rakna, you can get your same build with AB4 instead of PP3 and you would have the exact same EFR but without needing to be full hp (higher armor too, not that that matters for gods like you haha). I don't know if there are rules or anything against that in the TA rules, but it's a legal charm so maybe try it out?
Any charms is legal in TA as long as it's technically possible in game. and it doesn't really matter since i reset if i get hit lol. But thanks for the suggestion
@@LyonOlivier69 at least would help if you get chip damage somehow that doesn't mess up your combo at all. Would potentially save a run or 2.

What's the overlay mod for that bar at the top corner? Seen it around but not sure which mod it is. Anyway nice run, although there's some forced shots at the head/non-winglet areas.
Some of them are the head when I need to be ready for the inhale cause you have to be in front, and it’s awkward to hit wing arms from the front. And some are just missed because of flinch or bad positioning. Is hard to aim lol. The bar up top is the dps meter than i disabled all functionally and just use as a timer
Love the runs, and I'm glad the bow set I went with is extremely similar to what you have, only missing the correct talisman ahaha. On a completely unrelated sidenote, would it be possible to request the playlist you listen to? I really like the songs you use for the runs but my YT AI isn't the best at finding similar ones.

Amazing run! Is there any way to do this fight with Sidestep without chugging 50 potions? I really prefer it over dodgebolt but once Valstrax puts his wings down and his attacks cover half the map I literally dont know what to do.
I'll be honest i never tried with sidestep, but i think it's one of the harder fight with sidestep. There are many attacks that are just much easier to bolt
@@LyonOlivier69 I've been running into issues with dodgebolt where I'll successfully an attack, but still get hit towards the end. I thought you were supposed to have s throughout the entire animation if you succeeded the initial dodge.
@@brodofraggins yes but you need to be aware of multi hit attacks. A lot of them don’t seem like multi hit but they are. For example teostra jump, it has 2 different hitbox. Same for apex rathian fire bite. It takes some trials and error but eventually you learn what you can and can’t dodgebolt

a question, do the spread arrows have a lower elemental scaling than the normal ones? (in the case of valstrax, I know normal is more viable because of the hitzones)
Spread and rapid have the same elemental MV. Spread has lower raw mv than rapid but it’s made up by the fact that it shoots 1 more arrow. (Also spreads bows and armors tend to generally be better).
In this case specifically it doesn’t matter because I use chameleos bow which is a raw spread bow.
In general, element isn’t a big deal to consider though, since it’s such a small portion of your dmg. Even on the best elemental bows, like rakna or valstrax, element is at most 15% of your total dmg so I wouldn’t worry about it too much

is the chest explosion a damage check or a "number of hits" check?
dmg but it doesn't have to be on chest only. As you can see on the second one since it's harder to get i start by hitting the head before it lifts it
May I know what armor and weapon build you're using? I kinda want to make it for myself. I do suggest putting it in the video desc for future vids. Nice speedrun anyways man!

If you look at the end he is using chameleos bow, but pretty sure he has a mod to layer it.

He was trying to kill you and you were just dancing. Those dodge bolt parries for the charges were so satisfying. I'm curious how long you spend on a run in general to get it to point you're satisfied.
hmmm depends. Like the Almudron took me 90 min, it was pretty easy. Teostra took me a lot of time. Valstrax i get sub 2:30 pretty quick but past that it took a while to get decent ai rng. I think this one probably took me like 8 hours spread out in a few days, and i already knew his moveset
@@LyonOlivier69 Awesome, thanks for the insight! And I'm guessing this is after you have a basic script for the fight figured out, and even then like you said, AI RNG still changes all the time, so you're still fighting and reacting until you get that good run.
@@LyonOlivier69 It also goes to show how people probably don't realize that a 3 minute video could have actually taken like 8+ hours of work and runs to get the final result.
@@garylai363 Yea but frankly it’s not that much, they’re not super polished. I don’t enjoy rise that much so I find it difficult to spend a long time on runs without getting bored. On more polished run of world it wasn’t rare to spend upwards of 50-80 hours when all is said and done, like multiples weeks worth of tries
@@LyonOlivier69 yeah I hear you. Rise just doesn’t satisfy long term like World did. I’m still playing it but it feels hollow, and I’m not speed running like you. Like any player who wants to improve I note my times as well, but on a casual level, if I’m around 2x a speed runner time that’s good for me lol. I only tried once to sub10 Alatreon for a few days when he had first come out and never again. I had a massive appreciation for the dedication you guys put towards a run, cuz I couldn’t do it.

It’s spread 2 wex 2 with a slot. Whatever you slot in the empty slot shows in the skills. But yea it’s pretty much a perfect charm

Lmao no way that charm is luck of the draw. The charm alone gives him WE3, SU2, CB1.
It gives wex 2 not 3, charms show the deco you put in the slot in the description. The charm itself is spread 2 wex 2 2-0-0. And yes of course it's modded, it's for speedruns
i use the same set, but not getting the same dmg, dealing to the same hit box, you playing on PC make me think this is fake
