Please note you still want Geo LV3 (leather S set) when you do this run. Also huge THANK YOU to those who go to Utaro's vid and leave a nice comment :)
I was wondering, do you think wirebug whisperer or evade extender (which extends the distance of those wirebug aerial vaults) could speed up this run or make it easier?
@@saerudayo I was just running it without Wirebug Whisperer and the first bug fades as you reach the first (smaller) temple. You should definitely slot it in.
I recently revealed the genders of my two girlfriends. It got a lot of hate and now has 30 times more dislikes than likes. I am really sad that people can be so mean. Sorry for using your comment to talk about my problems, dear pro
A tip for people who want to crank the optimization: Tabbing your action bar to "Call Dog" allows you to call the dog while performing other actions. You can do it while falling or while mining an outcrop and your dog will pick you up ASAP. It also skips waiting for the A-button meter to fill, not that that's a huge time loss.
Important to note that if your dog reaches you while your character is performing an action (like mining or picking up a wirebug) the "call dog" gets cancelled but if your character finishes the action beforehand they will still get on top of the dog
One thing to note: exiting the expedition this early won't cycle quests, which is great when you want the same upsurge over and over, but it also won't: update the dango menu, count as "quests completed" with your equipped weapon, update the argosy, update the owl's nest, progress the meowcenaries, or complete melding. Basically, it doesn't count as a "quest" if you exit early enough.
The great thing about this is that if Flooded Forest doesn't have Mining Outcrop Upsurge, then Lava Caverns just might, and we can do that method in the meantime. All great zenny farms, thank you for these! :)
I just watch the original clip earlier today. There is a little tip he gave about calling your dog before mining a spot while on foot to speed up movement. Amazing stuff.
YES! I do this all the time in gaijin's original video and it's annoying the heck out of me when gaijin doesn't use it and instead long presses A, hahaha. Just set the Action Bar icon to "Let me ride!" and press up/down on the dpad when you're about done with the mining animation! It shaves off valuable seconds off your run!
@@jasonlobo2350 Yes I have it set up as well. Real handy because you can call the dog while you yourself are running, this way (left thumb isn't required for the d-pad).
Tried this route, and I'm absolutely loving it. I did some minor adjustments with it though : Instead of circling around the pyramid to the higher chamber(with 2 nodes), after flying up with great wire bug I head straight into the lower chamber, wall run up, hung myself and zip my way up to the upper chamber through the lower chamber ceiling. Because that upper chamber is directly connected to the lower chamber, it saves me a little more time.
A few tips for people also doing this method or gathering in general: 1. Evade Extender extends the distance you evade after using your wirebug (so pressing B after using zR + A). I've found if you have 3 bugs from the sub-camp with evade extender 3 you can make it almost directly to the mining node at that smaller pyramid. (see 3:55 - 4:15) 2. Wall Running is useful if you find yourself struggling to get into those small caves/entrances in the pyramid, which can be used to run around whilst waiting for a bug to regenerate. 3. If you find yourself wall running directly above those entrances on the pyramid, just run directly up and release run. As long as you're not too far away (and therefore not building a lot of speed) you should fall into entrance. The lower entrance is a bit iffy as it has a more significant lip but should still work. The white/grey mining nodes tend to have more location specific materials, and I was looking at building a smaller loop you can run on the Lava Caverns which utilizes the rock spawn times. Most useful skills with gathering are level 1 decorations, and tend to be quite easy and cheap to make. Hope it helps! Thanks for the video, and thanks utaro for the route!
In the pyramid, after using the great wirebug, you can wirebug into the floor above through the hole in the ceiling. Wallrun, flip back, and wirebug into the opening at an angle. It might take the same amount of time or less, but you have lots of more room for error (in the event that you fall off the side of the pyramid). It also only requires 2 wirebugs.
Thank you to the original discoverer and you for bringing this to our attention! This is great! I made a special set of armor for this with geologist, evade extender, wire bug whisperer, and marathon runner. Those skills make this slightly easier. And then I upgraded that armor set to max, simply because I was overflowing with cash. 😂 I can second that this is a relaxing and fun break at times.
Hi Mr. Gaijin! Just wanted to say thank you for the guides. I'm a PC player, and I found this guide very helpful. This and your previous method. Currently I have around 7 million zenny.
I actually listen to ASMR while farming things. It's very zen. But now I'm picturing one of those *other kinds* of ASMR videos, where people roleplay. Something like "Cute Hunter shows you her favourite mining route! [F4M] [Whispering] [Fashion Hunter]"

Thank you so much for sharing this! I went from over 200k to 630k in about 20 minutes (getting used to the route, watching the video, etc) This is definitely going to help, especially with Sunbreak cing out in 10 days lol
Fun fact, when you great wirebug up the pyramid, you can go in that entrance, run up the wall 3/4 the way and hold yourself in mid air, and wirebug up through a hole to get to the 2 nodes in the upper part instead of parkouring up and around a face. A bit more technical, but is doable
Thank you so much for the wonderful method. I was experimenting with the route, taking my time and realised that when I completed the route in fly back to Main Camp, I can start the route all over again. The mining outcrops have respawn. So what I did was, I ran the route 3 - 4 rounds before calling it a day. Earned quite a bit as well even though might not be as much as during upsurge but at least I don't have to race myself in under 5 minutes. I just take my own sweet time.
I’ve found when trying to get into the little caves up walls the easiest way to do so is to run up whatever wall, then jump off by releasing sprint, then ZR wire bugging right towards the entrance and quickly dodging towards it. Dodging helps ensure you can’t grab onto walls so you can’t mess up by missing and then running in the wrong direction
Adding an extra tip, you can go directly inside the pyramid and climb to the second floor scaling the wall, jumping when you are at the top and using a wirebug to go through hole in the ceiling, I think it is easier than going around the pyramid, usually do it more consistently.
Your original lava caverns video helped me out a ton. Everything is so expensive in this game lol. A couple days ago I showed the route to my friend and we ran it a couple times together and now we get to learn a new one!
One time when I was doing the Lava Cavern zenny route it became a local items upsurge, so I did that one for 20 minutes and when it changed it was a mining outcrop upsurge. It went back and forth like that at least 2 more times. I absolutely swimming in Kamura points and zenny for a while after that. Your videos have been so helpful!
I love these mining and and farming videos. Reminds me of doing charm farms back in gen 3. My group used to open and close every hunting session with one charm route around the volcano.
Excellent! I'm just happy to find another farming method that allows us to look for an upsurge outside of the volcano zone. Now that there's 2 good maps/routes for the mining upsurge there's more chances for farming AND it breaks up the monotony of only searching 1 map.
i’ve made it more efficient, just equip an insect glaive, you can go straight from the sub camp to the top of the small pyramid without touching the ground saving a couple seconds, the combo to do this is as follows, i sheath glaive -> ZR + B -> B -> [ZL + X -> B] -> A (repeat the bit in brackets till wire bugs are gone) can also be used on some of the other large jumps for more distance saving more time but this is the biggest time save i found with it
I'm absolutely loving this game, I'm new to MH but have always wanted to give it a go. Your videos have been a huge help and have also made me want to try more weapons than just my go to which is the hammer.
Thanks for sharing this Gaijin. It's great your willing to translate/share info from Japanese sources for us in addition to the guides and set videos you do.
One trick with wirebug traversal that I actually picked up when I was doing the original zenny lava caverns run is that after dashing, hanging from a wirebug gives me a bit more distance but also helps orient my midair roll better so I don't miss as often and have more control on where I actually go.
I envy the people who have good memory. Just like with the lava caves method, there is no possible way I could EVER memorize this route. It's just not something I'm capable of. Still, I appreciate you bringing to attention that mining is a good source of income. It takes me like 20 minutes in the lava caves for less than 100k (going to the mining icons on the map, half the time there's no mining node there so I spend all my time searching, and searching, and searching), but it's still making me way more money than if I didn't do it, so thank you very much.
At the end of the quest, instead of just clicking on "complete quest", you could use your own tip, and hand in the air, so you skip the doggo animation
great video adam sesei! there’s one thing i would like to add; this method is amazing but it would definitely only apply to those that don’t have the cursed drift on their controller. since you’re going to be inputing slight and precise movements, controllers with drift may find it a little annoying to move around. if you can somehow make it past that barrier, the road to 1million zenny is open to you!
Just FYI (for anyone who might not know, which was me), when wall-running you can change the direction that you're running in without having to jump off and re-wirebug. Just spam the stick in the direction that you want to go. I feel like you have to be pushing the stick at the right time during the wall-running animation, because holding it doesn't seem to do anything, which is why you might need to spam (Maybe I'm doing it wrong or something). It's bizarre I know and you can't change direction on a dime, but when you either have no extra wirebugs available or just barely missed the ledge it can save some time.
Slightly quicker alterations: 1) Use x3 Jump deco's 2) After landing at the subcamp you can actually wirebug all the way to the top of the pyramid all through the air 3) you can run up the wall and wirebug into the hole inside the big pyramid instead of running around it that first time I've been able to do it almost to under 4 minutes, probably can with enough practice
I knew Flooded Forest was gonna be better than Lava Caverns but could never figure out a good route. Dumb me never knew about the hole you could jump down into the cave after node #3. Ran this route 5x sub 5 each time without fail. On average I earned 249K per run. Assuming 5 minute runs each time you can get 12 runs per hour. Total estimated value for my results is approximately 3million Zenny per hour. No need to recycle upsurges. This is definitely much much much more efficient than Lava Cavern runs.
100% vouching for this. This is a much easier route to memorize than the previous route, with a lot less fail points. Restarting the mission over and over sounds~ annoying, but being able to hold onto the surge without having to loops other quests makes saves insane amounts of time.
Random Optimization Tip: the wirebugs where you aim with LT and press RT actually recover slightly slower than the ones where you press LT+A or LT+X. Also, just an anecdote about the 5 minute timer: when running Lava Caverns I'd go the full 10 minutes until the locale info changed and then immediately leave. Always got minimum 3 mining upsurge in a row using that method
There's a food skill that cuts down the respawn time between gathering points, you can camp on the upper right corner of the map(volcano one) where there are like 5 mining outcrops, gathering points repawns pretty fast
Alright, a made a sort of set specifically for grinding money. Most of the pieces are easy to get, and it doesn't require a specific talisman. It's as follows: Leather Headgear S, Kamura Garb S, Leather Gloves S, Nargacuga Coil S, and Kamura Leggings S, Geology Jewel x1, Jumping Jewel x1. This gives you Evade Extender lv3, Geologist lv3, Wall Runner lv3, and Wirebug Whisperer lv2. All of these skills help when doing the route to some degree. I also left 5 empty gem slots for personalisation. You could gem in botanist if you want to loop the firelantern quest, or hunger resistance if you plan to do the cavern route and keep chaining upsurges. This isn't the best set by any means. You can easily swap out the hat and Gloves if you just want to gem in Geologist. And also you only really need to get Wall Runner to lv2. Play around with it, and happy hunting.
This one actually looks a lot easier to remember and while it does require some better movement with Wirebugs, you have a lot less walls and closed in areas to deal with unlike Lava Caverns (some parts of it reminds me of Ancient Forest and I shudder at the thought of that mess of a map). I feel like a lot of these jumps would also be super easy to do with Evade Extender which actually boosts you way farther during Wirebug jumps. You cover a LOT of ground and I love E.Extender so much just for that. Might screw up some of these jumps, especially the pyramid ones but might be worth just to shave off some of horizontal ground and save that 3rd bug for path correction/safety net. Thanks for sharing, dude!
i have been doing your lava caverns route quite a lot recently and also was able to work in a couple more spots if you are real optimal and make little mistakes in the run. it involves using an air vent after the first node grabbed underground after the big jump off of area 12 and then theres another node down a path from the vent after going back down the chute that goes back to the node in the entrance to area 11. a no mistake run of adding those nodes in as well as entering the tent after each loop is complete usually puts me back at the starting node around 10 seconds before the node respawns so its less waiting and a few more ores every run. also apparently doing it at night time tends to extend the duration the mining outcrops stick around because i can easily do about 4-5 runs every night cycle
My friend Tasho found that we could make this a little quicker and easier toward the end. Instead of running all the way around the temple to get to that wirebug, you can hang a left after picking up the wirebug in the room with the small animals. Then hang a left and let your dog quick-jump up the wall on its own, hang a right and quick-jump up that, and then dog jump into wirebug to get to the great wirebug. (Basically, go left around the rubble and debris instead of right.) Then once you go up, go directly inside the pyramid, run straight to the back wall and jump onto it to wall run up, turn the camera around, jump off and wirebug up through the hole from below. Now you don't have to do the tricky and slow wirebug routine to go up and over the pyramid and then back in.
This trick will work on your original route, that lava cavern route only takes around 3minutes and 30 seconds to complete before going back to the main camp(ending the mission with this method). So very good for people that are not confident in their Wirebug accuracy or if wall running is too horizontal for some reason.
Don't forget guys that you can change the settings to show the map on screen in more detail which you can then select to show either endemic animals, gathering materials and more!
My friends and I have benefitted from your first zenny farming video and I wanted to thank you. Also, thanks for doing an English version of this one! I'll try it and see how it goes. Lastly, I just wanted to say that regardless of the video you put out, I watch it. Your voice is very relaxing to me and it really helps. Hope that doesn't creep you out lmao 😅
RydenReckless on reddit has a similar guide but for every map (as well as Kamura point farming routes), and his Flooded Forest route is much cleaner imo. This route is extremely and unnecessarily convoluted tbh, but the tip about the upsurge not resetting after 5 minutes is definitely super valuable information!
5:05, instead of doing 45 deg wirebug, you can just enter the door and go to middle of the room. Look up and you will see a hole on the ceiling. You can climb the wall and do wirebug to climb the hole. Much easier.
Wirebug Tip: Don't use your Bugs immediately after another, to get the most distance. Also make more use of the little tarzan swing, instead of the dodge, you get further and have more controll in the air. So you go WB -> Tarzan -> Dodge -> Repeat Wait like a millisecond before you jump out of the swing to go the furthest you can the fastest you can. Also: If you dodge out of the Tarzan Swing, you won't snap onto walls, so you can pretty much glide down e.g. the pyramide without getting stuck on the wall and accidentally running all over the place until you finally jump off off it again.
I've been doing this route in a different order, but hitting the same profit. Start at the subcamp and grab the ore, drop down and grab the ore at the base of the cliff, head east and drop into the cave in the east with the 2 ores (dropping down to it seems easier than climbing up to it from the water), then west into the cave. Grab all 3 ores in there and exit the cave to zone 1. Grab the ore that Gaijin grabbed first and follow the same route for the next 2, then head east to the small pyramid. From there, follow his route for the large pyramid. This route is about the same length, grabs the same ores, and doesn't need a fast travel in the middle of it.
you can actually maka an special outfit to do this routes, I did it with nargacuga´s set plus wall runner plus wirebug wisperer plus dangos like figther and wall runner to get even better movement without using a third wirebug, great content dude keep going :D
Thanks for the route, we appreciate it XD. My prefered mining upsurge farm is at the frost isles. Its good to have one for every map though. I dont like cycling via abandoning quests lol.

I love these mining and and farming videos. Reminds me of doing charm farms back in gen 3. My group used to open and close every hunting session with one charm route around the volcano.
Babe wake up, new Gaijin Hunter zenny farm just dropped
yes dear 😥
Lmao
Why did I laugh at this?
*glowing eyes intensifies*
*bursts out of coma* Wh-whoa what’d I miss?!
Excellent! I'm just happy to find another farming method that allows us to look for an upsurge outside of the volcano zone. Now that there's 2 good maps/routes for the mining upsurge there's more chances for farming AND it breaks up the monotony of only searching 1 map.
Your first route got me 13 Million Zenny so thank you for that and thank you for looking into even better methods for others.
Oh wow, this was uploaded in the middle of my own zenny grind session. Thank you :D
i’ve made it more efficient, just equip an insect glaive, you can go straight from the sub camp to the top of the small pyramid without touching the ground saving a couple seconds, the combo to do this is as follows, i sheath glaive -> ZR + B -> B -> [ZL + X -> B] -> A (repeat the bit in brackets till wire bugs are gone) can also be used on some of the other large jumps for more distance saving more time but this is the biggest time save i found with it
Thanks for sharing this gaijin and kudos to Utaro for discovering it, helped a ton keeping on top of armour upgrades!
My broke alt character appreciates this stronkly.
Thanks, Devotee of Minoto.
I'm absolutely loving this game, I'm new to MH but have always wanted to give it a go. Your videos have been a huge help and have also made me want to try more weapons than just my go to which is the hammer.
I am so happy to see you upload so much again, and such diverse content too. Really looking forward to all the next ones ^^
Thanks for sharing this Gaijin. It's great your willing to translate/share info from Japanese sources for us in addition to the guides and set videos you do.
Thank-you for making these videos they have really helped me a lot over the years.
Gaijin I've used your method more times than I can count and teached it to all my friends! It helped a lot!
It takes me like 20 minutes in the lava caves for less than 100k (going to the mining icons on the map, half the time there's no mining node there so I spend all my time searching, and searching, and searching), but it's still making me way more money than if I didn't do it, so thank you very much.
thanks for quality content as always gaijin!
Thank you for that. Really appreciate your videos! Keep up the good work.
Your volcano route helped me so much, I'm really thankful! But I also will try this one:)
Woooo. More guides. Very Pog Gajijn.
Slightly quicker alterations:
1) Use x3 Jump deco's
2) After landing at the subcamp you can actually wirebug all the way to the top of the pyramid all through the air
3) you can run up the wall and wirebug into the hole inside the big pyramid instead of running around it that first time
I've been able to do it almost to under 4 minutes, probably can with enough practice
Excellent! Thank you very much! I'm sure my Monster Hunter group will appreciate this. I already made them aware of your amazing method. All the best!
Brilliant. Just a few runs and I've got enough to last me quite awhile. Thank you!
100% vouching for this. This is a much easier route to memorize than the previous route, with a lot less fail points. Restarting the mission over and over sounds~ annoying, but being able to hold onto the surge without having to loops other quests makes saves insane amounts of time.
I love the optional optimism xD ❤️❤️❤️
I love you so much Gaijin, thank you very much for this!
Tip: If youre doing this for the first time you can easily follow this video real time buy pausing ingame by pressing the power button.
Alright, a made a sort of set specifically for grinding money. Most of the pieces are easy to get, and it doesn't require a specific talisman. It's as follows:
Leather Headgear S, Kamura Garb S, Leather Gloves S, Nargacuga Coil S, and Kamura Leggings S, Geology Jewel x1, Jumping Jewel x1.
I’ve been using the volcano one you posted for a while now, thanks for the help!
And I just learned your old method last night! Ah well, back to the grind!
i have been doing your lava caverns route quite a lot recently and also was able to work in a couple more spots if you are real optimal and make little mistakes in the run. it involves using an air vent after the first node grabbed underground after the big jump off of area 12 and then theres another node down a path from the vent after going back down the chute that goes back to the node in the entrance to area 11. a no mistake run of adding those nodes in as well as entering the tent after each loop is complete usually puts me back at the starting node around 10 seconds before the node respawns so its less waiting and a few more ores every run. also apparently doing it at night time tends to extend the duration the mining outcrops stick around because i can easily do about 4-5 runs every night cycle
Using the motion/gyro for aiming helps with this kind of thing. Not necessary, but I like it a lot
Another immensely helpful tip, thanks for sharing this!
Gonna need to do this a few times. Maxing the elder dragon sets have cleaned me out!
Thanks, Gaijin and Utaro!
New money farm les go! thanks for the video
This is why I sub to Gaigin Hunter, also love your video bro keep it up. I'm enjoying em n those Podcast with Rurikhan as well.
5:05, instead of doing 45 deg wirebug, you can just enter the door and go to middle of the room. Look up and you will see a hole on the ceiling. You can climb the wall and do wirebug to climb the hole. Much easier.
Gaijin hunter: Master of giving credit where it's due!
Unlike RageGaming!
Wirebug Tip:
Don't use your Bugs immediately after another, to get the most distance. Also make more use of the little tarzan swing, instead of the dodge, you get further and have more controll in the air.
So you go WB -> Tarzan -> Dodge -> Repeat
Wait like a millisecond before you jump out of the swing to go the furthest you can the fastest you can.
Also: If you dodge out of the Tarzan Swing, you won't snap onto walls, so you can pretty much glide down e.g. the pyramide without getting stuck on the wall and accidentally running all over the place until you finally jump off off it again.
Awesome video! Just subbed and can’t wait to see more content
For those struggling with Pawprint tickets, have 2 pilfer (gathering) palicos duke it out with the other felynes. They can plunder the tickets!
you can actually maka an special outfit to do this routes, I did it with nargacuga´s set plus wall runner plus wirebug wisperer plus dangos like figther and wall runner to get even better movement without using a third wirebug, great content dude keep going :D
Thank Utarou and you for this both.
The narration is soothing. like NPR.
Thanks for the route, we appreciate it XD.
My prefered mining upsurge farm is at the frost isles. Its good to have one for every map though. I dont like cycling via abandoning quests lol.
