This Italian recognizes:
- Times use to be better
- Politicians are targeting them uniquely

- People are moving
- SF "use" to be great
- North Beach use to be all Italian / white
But doesn't connect the reason why he suffers is ultimately diversity. Everything he stands for has been destroyed by diversity. He is ruled by it and doesn't even speak to it. The people that are moving are white, and they are moving to white areas.

@@marilynringel9228 I don't disagree per se, but I would say it is more nuanced in that there is a very leftist mode of thought which in many cases is quite extreme and which dominates the media, the academy, and the vast part of tech firms and many major corporations, in such a way as to be philosophically incapable of dialogue with anyone with a different view, and in many cases they label one half the nation as evil. What preserves the nation is that the side they label evil is not, and so do not behave as the rioters and subversive politicians one sees today. It is the remaining segments of the nation who believe in God, family, and appreciate the sacrifices made for freedom and respect the constitution as written among other things, these are the ones who hold America together. These are the ones who keep free speech alive. They do include some liberals, since leftists are so very far left that anything that was anywhere near normal prior to about 2000 is not acceptable. In essence the left consists of various anti-American ideals based in a form of cultural communism, rooted in materialism. It is a deep problem.

State level employees universally treated us like dog crap. One actually told me when I complained about a problem and I quote "That's the price you pay for the privilege of doing business in New York." An exact quote I still remember.
PRIVILEGE! Privilege to try to feed my family when NO other jobs exist? Privilege to work without pay for weeks on end while I pay every employee, bill, and landlord?
I WAS PAYING the salary of the jackass on the phone while he was telling me I was privileged what crap. That was the beginning, then there are all the taxes for schools, unionized schools which by law,, even if the budget is not approved by local voters, cannot be less than the previous year. They will sell your house out from under you if you don't pay the school taxes. You never own your home, never. You rent it with 2/3 the money going to teachers and 1/3 actually going for all the things the county does. Then there's the little pogrom the dems do it you don't think right. I was a dem committee man, worked on many campaigns etc. They could not allow anyone to be pro-life regardless of decades of being in the party, they silenced governor Casey at one convention and would not allow him to speak, merely because he was pro-life. They move ever leftward that is all they have. There are no actual liberals in the party, they are not left enough.

I saw the studio I used to live with my daughter in this video, the Second I moved out, they jack up rent from $2000 to almost $6000/ because it’s great location, and it was the time all the Mega intent companies moved to SF 6 years ago, but come on, it’s only studio apartment! Wow! It’s crazy to see how different parts of the country look during the pandemic. Here in Florida it is open! It’s so different.
To include the Superbowl here in the bay area!
Florida has not totally opened up. Try getting a medical or dental appointment then see how long you have to wait. Even going to the Vet for our pets is restricted. Churches are restricted to limited pew seating. Still can' try on clothing in stores (ie Target). Some Florida counties just never locked down to begin with.
That’s because Florida has an awesome Governor.
It's crazy. Maybe these people will leave too. I think I would too. I would think seriously about moving and setting up business somewhere else.

The pandemic is a real thing but the world needs to figure a new to handle it... Here in Austria stores opened on Monday but restaurants and bars are still closed and it's been a year now that this started. During summer everything opened but besides that, it's been a constant lockdown... It's fucked up.
It happened here in my local town of Redondo Beach. A long time eatery "Eat At Joe's" defied orders last summer to close down and he pleaded with other businesses to join him but not one owner had the nerve to stay open with him. He had a line 3 blocks long. Then in September, he had his city license taken away which he fought back to get. Now he has more patrons than ever.

I had water in my mouth when he asked the wine distributor about the decline in sales, when he goes "down 50?" Then she goes "oh nooo..." I saw thinking she was gonna say like 35% or something, and then she goes "90%". I literally spit my water out on my keyboard! What the fuck!
None of the bars have been open since March 2020..unless they put money into serving food and parklet. Six bars in my neighborhood (2-3 block radius) are gone 1 opened in July for outdoor (serve sandwiches to get around the law). They shut everyone down again after Thanksgiving...we just opened outdoor last week. Bars & Hotels have been hit harder if that’s even possible at this point. 🤷🏼♀️
@@shazzye5920 I live in Memphis, and yes there rules but nothing like this, businesses pretty much operate like normal, just 25% less capacity. But, my views are to allow the public and businesses to regulate themselves. If someone gets covid at a business, customers wouldn't go there (it's pretty simple). So business will take the correct steps to continue to generate capital.
But, these public officials need to be voted out, this bureaucratic nonsense needs to be destroyed. Officials "you can eat outside", the restaurants owners build outside seating. Officials "oh we're sorry but your outside seating doesn't fit our idea of outside sitting" but then goes ahead and builds identical outside seating.... It's just complete nonsense. It's going to turn into detroit same with NYC. It's sad.
But what's most disturbing thing out of all of this, the local gov having practicing this type of governing before the crisis, and the crisis just highlighted it's nonsense! A great example there is the government listed a firehouse sale for to the public for private use. Some couple bought it turned it into a home and a neighborhood center. City then proceeds to fine him and tries to use imminent domain clause because it is for government use only even though he paid for it and was listed for private use. Needless to say he won in federal court and sued the city for privacy invasion and won as well.

Not an American, but this makes me sad because the same shit is happening here in Toronto. As an Italian it especially crushes me to see historic Italian restaurants that have been serving their communities for decades close down permanently. We have already lost a lot of Italian businesses in Toronto. Extremely painful. Even here in Toronto, Ontario politicians cater to the big box stores and big businesses. They forget how important small business is to the economy and makes up a much larger % of the economy than large box stores and chains. Politivans corrupt and feeding big business. Absolutely sad

In a store, you're able to wear a mask. In a restaurant, you're not, as you're eating and drinking. Thus, a virus can spread more rapidly in a restaurant.
This is really heartbreaking. 😥 it's possible that a decade from now we will look back at some of the decisions we made regarding how to tackle this pandemic as stark raving mad 🙁.

Been living in SF for 30 years. There is no government support for local business. Streets are filthy and uncivil behavior is accepted. Property crime is not prosecuted. School board is more concerned about renaming schools currently named for Washington and Lincoln than about reopening schools for children. The government dysfunction is unbelievable. So many of my neighbors have left . We need to completely rethink how we run this city if it's to survive.

That is crazy!! Family & friends in California have kept us updated on what it is like there.. but seeing it in this video is just shocking! In Texas, our restaurants are (and have been) open. They never did this outdoor seating stuff here. I feel so bad for these business owners having to do all this at their own expense while just trying to keep their heads above water. I wish more people realized what this is doing to these small businesses... uff. Thanks for sharing it though, Peter!

Don't let your kids attend virtual school!!! They will learn much more if you let them play and explore other ways of education at home. I have figured out how to teach my daughter math, money counting, clock reading, writing words, reading, sentence structure and grammar, way above what she is expected to know at school. Next I'm trying to teach her another language but don't know how to teach her something I don't know

@@tiko4621 was thinking about mabe finding a Spanish speaking friend that she should learn naturally. I think natural learning is much better then what they do in school. Grammar and spelling should be taught after a language is spoken naturally so it can learned be just like a first language.
My school is now on a hybrid model but before we were 100% online. I struggled the most than I did in person. But no one in the government cares. They just shove us around cancel activities like it does nothing to us.

Liberal ran state. Born and raised in California ran my own business for many years the more I made the more taxes I owed. Moved to Idaho 2012 should have done it earlier. You should find a conservative state and move there. California may never recover.

The marijuana business has no regulation. You can operate without a license with no real punishment. They avoid taxes. I've never seen the preferential treatment of one business against others.

Peter & Paul church here in North Beach which made the news last week after three priests were diagnosed with Covid following months of holding regular, on-site masses, in spite of city health orders, and even furtively hosting an indoor wedding back in July with hundreds of guests, many of whom also contracted the virus. An under-reported, super-spreader event and a betrayal of neighborhood goodwill.

There are many people moving from the both the east and west coast to Arizona. AZ politics have always been a bit bewildering to me. It will be interesting to see how the influx of people from the coasts changes public policy in this, often backwards, state. We have the same situation in Poland. After a while the restaurant owners were sick of it, so they decided to go against the majority and open up. No financial support from the government, paying rent from savings. They had nothing to loose.To be honest, I felt more safe going to a restaurant where my temperature is checked, we are islotated with plastic walls all around and the waiter is wearing a mask. It’s just nonsense, when they closed the bars and restaurants, the covid cases got higher cause of house gatherings. We will not stay isolated all the time, we are human, we need each other. We can still be together and be safe. Corporations are winning but nobody is talking about their employees- home office since March, most of them have depression, addictions some commit suicide...
I really feel for anyone in the food service industry. Thanks for sharing this story!

I know that economy is suffering a lot around the world. Sure there’s a perfect way to manage this but nobody seems to find it in the whole world. Next video could be about a hospital. About what’s happening there. All who are not in a hospital know the reality of restaurants, shops and bars. We know is really sad. Now, let us see what’s happening in a hospital.
One of the solutions is to open more hospitals and train those people who lost their jobs to do some work as nurses. It’s no brain surgery, so a lot of people would qualify. It’s been almost a year since pandemic started, and it’s not going anywhere any time soon. So weird that closing small businesses and locking people up is the only solution the government came up with!

It’s true almost everybody is making all they can in these times. Business are really struggling, and a lot of people is losing they jobs, but it’s also true that hospitals are overwhelmed. We’re facing a new situation for everybody and we were not prepared for this.
